I really enjoyed Dave and wish he could have done our remodel but he emailed me and respectfully declined to bid the job. It seems like the bathroom remodel may have been bigger than his usual job so I'm sure it was a business decision and I respect that. If he can make more on 4-5 smaller gigs in the same amount of time then I don't blame him. Overall I felt he was very professional and I'm actually considering him for a much smaller job at my grandmothers if I don't use whomever I settle on for the master bath remodel. Easy to talk to, seemed to know his stuff, and struck me as trustworthy. I am paid to read people for a living and he passed all my litmus tests. I would def recommend you call him for jobs less than $2000. That's number is a guess though.
Description of Work: Good guy......very professional but did not use him.

Dave responded within 1 business day of my initial call. We spoke about possible dates, and based on weather, set a tentative date for the following Tuesday. That weekend, I found out I was going to be unable to make the appointment and called to reschedule, which we did for that Friday. Of course, realizing that was Valentine's Day afterwards, I called again to pick a different day. Dave was flexible the entire time, working with me to meet late in the day on Wednesday to complete the job. That day, he was punctual and professional, working diligently but taking the time to explain to me what he was doing and why. Because of the nature of drywall, the initial patch wasn't quite unnoticeable. He insisted to come back the following day, after the "mud" had time to set, to finish the job correctly. He refused to take payment until it was done right. He showed up right on time the following day, finished the job and even sanded to make sure it was "paint ready" for me when he left. Only then did he take the check for his work. Since then, we've painted the area. You'd never know there was a large hole there at some point!
Description of Work: Dave did a 16"x 16" drywall patch on a wall in our master bedroom.

They had been great. The things that I talk with people or who I deal with and the reason I dealt with them all the time is honesty, integrity, timeliness, you know, I think their price is reasonable. I know that the work is gonna be done the way that I like it.
Description of Work: We used Dave's Handyman Service for some painting work and drywall repair.
He arrived promptly, behaved in a professional manner, but his work was not what I expected. The painting was sloppy, uneven and left drip marks. He attempted to repair bifold doors to the laundry area and that only lasted about three days before the one side was off track again. Although he was a very pleasant person, overall, we were pretty disappointed with the quality of his work.
Description of Work: Replaced threshold at front door, trimmed off bottoms of interior doors and painted them. Patched ceiling of mud room. Attempted repair of bifold doors to laundry room.

Dave arrived promptly and we went through each room verifying the extent of the damage. While developing the estimate, Dave was mindful of what could be re-used/salvaged to reduce the costs. He also offered before and after pictures of the work so that any interested buyer would be confident that work was successfully completed. Great work Dave - we were able to sell the house.

The ceiling dropped in one of our bedrooms. We did not notice the droop in the ceiling until the light fixture broke. The light fixture stayed fixed to the wooden support beams while the plasterboard ceiling sunk 4-6 inches. We were lucky the whole thing did not come crashing down. Did a little web-research and found a video of a guy using a car jack and plywood to push the ceiling back up, then using screws to re-attach the drywall to the ceiling. The guy in the video said these drooped ceilings was common in houses built around 1975 with electric heat in ceiling, which exactly described my house. Next I went to Angie's List to find someone willing to try it. Found Dave and his feedback indicated he was the right guy for me. We called Dave on 23 Dec, clearly in the middle of the holiday season. He appreciated our dilemma and safety concerns as this was our son?s bedroom and came over immediately. He was at our house in less than 30 min. He looked it over and his first assessment was that the ceiling would have to be replaced. We talked a bit and I was angling to see if Dave would be open to try something different. I think that once Dave felt I would not punish him if the attempt failed, he really embraced the idea. We agreed that Dave would try to raise the ceiling and if it did not work we would replace the ceiling. Meanwhile, he put up reinforcements for safety so that our son could sleep in the room. Dave said he had to work with the holiday schedule and would call us on the 26th of Dec to set a date for repair work. He did call on 26 Dec and we set 2-3 Jan as the dates for repair work. I told him that I had found ceiling fans to replace the light fixture. Additionally, I wanted a ceiling fan installed in the other, second upstairs bedroom so they would match. Dave had no problem with the changes and said he?d be here at 8:30am, but there was severe weather and he arrived at just after 9:00am. On both days he finished by 4:30pm. He was very respectful of our house and cleaned up the work area nicely. Results: We are impressed and very pleased. The result is beautiful. Dave is a skilled ceiling ?stomper? and matched the original pattern so that both bedrooms match, just as before. He deserves great credit for coming up with an even more elegant way of lifting the ceiling in place that did not need a car jack. Dave is easy to work with, pleasant to talk to and has an exemplary work ethic. He has my strongest recommendation. We will definitely call Dave for future work.
Description of Work: Fixed a 'dropped ceiling,' re-surfaced ceiling and installed two ceiling fans.

He's amazing. He is creative in how he applies his talent. He uses what's available from the store and gets the job done. I would recommend him and I give him an A++
Called Dave for an estimate. He came over within two days and gave us a job price based on estimated time and materials. He said at that time that the price could be higher or lower depending on the difficulty of removing our particular type of wall covering. As it turned out, the job did take a couple of hours longer than estimated and we were happy to pay the overage. Dave did a great job. The walls look as good or better than when new. It was a pleasure to have Dave doing the work. He is a skilled, multi-talented craftsman. I am not going to squander a lot of electrons saying anything more than that. The bottom line is that if we need any more wallpaper removed, or have a variety of other maintenance or construction things to be done, I do not expect to be calling anyone else to do the work except Dave Williamson.
Description of Work: Removed wallpaper from upper and lower hallways and connecting stairway wall. Removed wallpaper adhesive residue from walls. Repaired nail pops in drywall. Filled-in and smoothed surface imperfections in drywall. Primed walls and applied one coat of finish paint.

He saved me money and water damage event though the repair was performed by another plumber hired by my landlord. Pretty darn special attitude by this guy, Dave the Plumber.
Description of Work: Dave was one of 5 plumbers I called with a problem of a running leak in my crawspace. Though he could not come out at the time, and I missed his return call... he left me a detailed message telling me how to find the shutoff valve to the house water supply so that I would lose no more water (that is: MONEY) until he could come out and fix it. Unfortunately, met landlord decided I should use another plumber for this work. But I am asking Dave to estimate a couple other jobs for me. I believe it takes someone special to go out of his way to call and tell me to save some money and damage by shutting off the water to the house even before we agreeed on his working on the project. So, he saved me money even though the job went to someone else at the behest of my landlord. But this service he performed for me will make him a TOP RECOMMENDATION AS A PLUMBER from me forever.
Everything went very well. There a few repairs that needed to be done concerning plumbing after bath was gutted that we were not originally aware of. Dave was able to take care of issues. It is evident that Dave is detail oriented and makes sure job is done to your satisfaction.

I contacted him via phone and arranged for him to stop by and provide an estimate. After approving the estimate we made an appointment that fit both of our schedules and he arrived on time and completed on time. During the job, I asked him to add a few additional items which he did at a very reasonable cost. Very pleased.
Description of Work: Patched and painted entire garage including doors. Sanded, primed, and painted Front entry door. All work done extremely well and we are very pleased with his efforts. I will use him again whenever I need help.

Mr. Williamson was extremely professinal and helpful as I showed him the work we needed to get done. He provided a very detailed estimate for the work we requested. We did not select him to do the work, but based on his response, we would recommend you have compete for any work you need done. Morgan Moore
We initially hired Dave to paint and repair drywall cracking. That went so well that we began adding additional projects that needed completed. He always arrived on time and stayed on task. He is very organized and detailed. It is obvious he cares very much about quality and wants to be sure it is done right the first time. Dave even taught my son and I the basic do's and don'ts of painting just in case we attempt it on our own. I was looking for someone who is trustworthy, reliable and conscientious - and Dave is all 3 in my opinion. My 2 dogs also liked him - he would make a point to spend time with them everyday so they would feel comfortable around him.
Description of Work: We are in the process of getting our house ready for sale and needed various projects taken care of. These included interior painting, fixing the front door handle/lock, repair/replace tile floor, install new shower hardware, repair drywall cracking, caulking and subfloor work. We used his services over a few weeks for approx 8 days.
Description of Work: We had been putting off much needed home repair for over a year and found Dave on Angie's list - One word can describe what he accomplished in less than 2 weeks - AWESOME. His estimate was right on - He was punctional - professional and proud of his work. He installed a ceiling fan, an over the range microwave, painted our entire downstairs as well as one bedroom upstairs and our hallway leading to the bedroom. Briefed us daily on what he was planning for the next day and what he said he was going to accomplish - HE DID!! Of course "lil things" popped up from time to time and naturally, as a true professional would, he took care of business with ease. Will I bring him back for "phase 2" of our plan to reclaim our house after raising 5 kids in it for over 20 yrs - OF COURSE. Wife has already made those arrangements with him and when she is happry so am I.

I interviewed 3 painters to paint the interior of my home before I moved in. Dave's price was competitive and what made me choose him was that he did a thorough walk through, making itemized notes, discussed items I never thought about (and weren't pointed out by the other interviewees) and provided a professional, detailed, estimate. He did a wonderful job and was done on time. After I move in, I contacted Dave to install weatherstripping, a new garbage disposal, and a new thermostat. Again, the price was excellent and the work done in a minimum amount of time. As with any new home, there is a list of handyman items that need to be done and I will continue to use Dave's services.
