Dave's Handyman Service

Dave was prompt and very professional. He did what he said he do in the amount of time allotted. He also answered my questions without getting annoyed as I tend to ask a lot of questions. I'd definitely use him again in the future.

The quality of the work was very good. The quantity of the work done for the price paid was somewhat disappointing. There were other projects that we had discussed with him and he was set up to stop by on a particular day to review them. He didn't show and after a week or so when he was contacted by a text message, we got an unprofessional response. With a contractor rated as highly as he was, we were disappointed.

I have a small vinyl flooring job. When I called a man answered the phone with simply "Hello." When I asked if this was Dave's Handyman Service, he simply said "Not interested" and hung up. Didn't get a chance to explain the job.

Dave rehung cabinets, installed a new microwave over the range, removed and replaced the counters repaired the floor where the bamboo came apart, and finally he installed a tile back splash over the counter and range. He arrived promply and did an excellent job. I would always hire him for any work in the future.

Unresponsive. Did not show up for an estimate and then failed to return phone call after I called and left my number.

I have seen all the good reviews about Dave and called him out a few years ago for a window estimate. I thought the estimate was pretty high so I had someone else do it. I thought I would give him another try with power washing and staining my very small, flat deck that has no side rails. He gave me an estimate of 775.00 for supplies and labor. I found that to be pretty high for the job. I was hopeful I would have gotten a reasonable quote from him because I have a few different jobs I need done around my house. I am just going to move on and find someone else that is more reasonable.

Some of it was good, some of it was not so good. He does decent work but he doesn't own anything to clean up. He left my house like our ceiling was open. The insulation was falling down onto the house. It was 26 degrees that day, our house was freezing. He didn't cover up the holes after he took the carpets. He did a great job on this room. This room was fantastic. He is not very good with drywall. I wouldn't hire him to do drywall again. He is pretty responsive.

This as the second time I used his services. Dave, the owner, completed all of the work himself. He finished the job in one day and cleaned up well after completing. I loved his work and he was excellent in every way.

Dave contacted us very quickly to arrange to provide an estimate for the work. He knew we were in a hurry to get the work accomplished because of a party we were having at our house and he was able to make accommodations to do the work within two weeks. We were very happy with the results - the bay window looks brand new. I will definitely be calling on Dave again to help with projects around our house!

Just one person came out to do the job. It took about three hours. He knew a lot about what he was doing and was very conscientious. If I was going to tell a family or friend about him I would tell them to expect a good job to be done. Overall it was a good job.

I just tried calling Dave at the number listed in the Angie's List page for him. On the first attempt, it sounded as if he picked up but didn't realize. I heard movement and tools in the background. So, I tried back a moment later. He picked up on the 2nd ring and immediately asks "Who is this" in a less than polite manner. I started to explain that I'm looking to have a quote/estimate on about a day's worth of work but before I was through with my first sentence he rudely interrupted me and said "I'm busy. Call back and leave a message." No apologies for interrupting or pleasantries of any sort. Just a rude interruption and he hung up he didn't even say bye or thanks for calling. I'm absolutely floored that he has the ratings he does but if he keeps this kind of crap up, I'd expect that he will see a change.

Everything was great. They were cheap and they came out recommended.

He never showed up and when I called him he said he left a message on our answering machine,but we had NO messages. He was very curt on the phone.

I thought he was very thorough, and made it easy to give me the steps to know what was needed to be done to fix the problem.

The things went pretty well with them. They were reasonable. We had them finish a big part of the wall. We were pretty happy overall. The last day the guy could have sanded it down a little further and finished it a little more. With our fireplace mantle, it was a little bit un-leveled; but he came right back and corrected it. We were pretty happy with them. He came out quick. He corrected it the next day.

Dave, did a great job, and he is a Bobcat.

I have used Dave's Handyman Service on numerous occasions and Dave always does a top notch job, within quote and takes the time to listen to your concerns and respond to your requirements. Never been disappointed whether electrical, dry wall/paint or small plumbing work he has been a great find and resource.

Dave responded very quickly to our request for estimates and for scheduling repairs to our home necessitated by our very anxious dog . His prices were very reasonable and he was prompt in returning to completed our repairs. We will definitely plan to use him again and would highly recommend him.

Dave was fair in his price and personable. He came once to do the pre-work and again for the painting. There were a few spots that were missed, but I texted him and he returned to fix them promptly. I would have given an A overall except for the need to return.

Initially we thought the meeting went great. Even though Dave was informed that the ceiling that needed repaired (from a roof leak) was plaster, he expressed CERTAINTY that is was drywall. Was a little surprised at how high the estimate was, even with Dave providing the paint. We had him quote everything we were needing to have done, but told him upfront there may be things removed. We were in a hurry to get things done as well. He provided the quote same day (APR 29) & we let him know that we would discuss it & get back to him soon. The next day (APR 30), we sent an email to find out when he could get started & that we for sure wanted him to do the drywall repair that we showed him the day before. In addition, clarification was needed on a price for painting the stairwell - if it was just to "patch paint" over the mess the previous tenants left or paint the entire stairwell. The following day (MAY 01 - 8:40 AM), response was received on when he could start & when he would be finished. He also clarified that he believed that the stair well could be matched "close enough" and be finished with a quart of paint. The same day (MAY 01 - 9:56 AM), I let Dave know that we wanted to hire him to do drywall repair, & paint ceilings in 3 rooms & wanted him to give me a price on painting the entire stair well - not just patching the paint color that was there (because an off white & we do not paint our rentals with light colors - especially a frequently traveled stairwell) & we also mentioned working our arrangements to get him access to the property prior to his start date. Also, requested a price on what he would charge to pain the stairwell. It was also asked if since he was supplying the materials (like the paint) it that would remain at the property when he was finished (this is a rental & having extra paint for touch up later is handy). His estimate to us included cost of materials, so we figured if we were paying for it, it would stay. We also asked how he handles payments once the job was done... if he billed or we could meet up when finished for payment. On May 02 - 11:38 AM, Dave sent an email withdrawing his bid for work at our rental property. Literally 1 minute after getting his email, we responding asking "May I ask why?"... only to get no response. All is good with with our project however - we found a SUPER GREAT GUY that did the job we hired Dave to do, plus some for WAY LESS & he did an wonderful job & even went above & beyond when a problem came up. Oh... and the ceiling repair that Dave said was DRYWALL, was in FACT plaster as he was informed by us when we met for the quote.

He was personable, and extremely clean and very excellent at his job. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to him coming again. He gave us many contact numbers, was extremely thoughtful in his answers and wanted us to be satisfied!
