Clothes were coming out of the dryer not fully dry. Yesterday, Monday, 6/17, I called Allied from a list of nearby appliance services on Angie's List. He was able to schedule an appointment for today at 9:00AM. He was right on time, got right to work, and finished the job in a half hour. He could have told me I needed some part replaced and charged me much more, but all the dryer needed was to have everything in the back vacuumed out. Too much dust, lint, dog hair, etc. was accumulating in all the nooks and crannies in the back of the machine causing it to overheat and the safety feature was shutting off the heater. He showed me everything I needed to know to keep it clean and he even gave me a couple helpful tips about my washing machine that I didn't know, even though I had no problem with the washer! I will definitely call him if I have any other appliance problems and I would recommend him to others!

John was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He took the time to investigate and explain to me the issues and resolution. After being without a working dryer for 1.5 weeks, I was very appreciative of John coming out today even though they were technically closed for the day. We have used Allied in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Work was performed well and the technician was very informative on the problem and why it likely happened.

Matt was on right on time which we greatly appreciated; he was very thorough and diligent; we appreciated his attention to detail. He had the part we needed and fixed our washing machine promptly. Will definitely be calling Matt/Allied Appliance for any future appliance repair needs.

I called and left a message around 9:30am and Matt called me back already by 10:30am. He told me he could be at our house around noon that same day and he was right on time. The reason for the call to him was because our clothes dryer had stopped heating. He diagnosed the issue of a broken heating element quickly and had the part to repair it right then. He also, vacummed out all of the lint while he had the machine apart and made sure it was working well otherwise. While he was working on the dryer, I asked him if he also works on refrigerator / freezers and told him that we have never been able to use the water features (chilled water and ice-maker) because anytime we turned the water on it floods all over. Once the repair of the dryer was finished and he was running it to make sure it was then heating properly, he said he had a little time before his next appointment and that he could look at the refrigerator / freezer now. He had some bath-tub liner which he placed underneath the refrigerator / freezer to protect the hardwood floor when he pulled the refrigerator / freezer out from the wall. We turned the water line out but found that it did not leak this time as in the past. While he had the refrigerator / freezer pulled out, he helped me clean behind it. After 30min of no leaks, he decided that everything was okay and no repairs were needed. He replaced the water filter so that we can now use the chilled water and ice-maker, which is the first time in the whole 5 years we've lived in the house. He then finished putting the dryer back together. Matt was really so nice and is very easy to have at the house. He was very careful with everything. He was very quick to call back and come out to the house. He was at the house for probably about 1 1/2 hours and was able to repair the dryer in that time and check out the water line in our refrigerator / freezer to make sure it was okay. I really didn't have any idea of what the repairs might cost and was pleasantly suprised that it was just $274, which is a great value for the quality of work and professionalism. I couldn't be happier and would definitely recommend Matt and Allied Appliance Maintenance to others. It says a lot that Matt's grandfather started the business, which was later taken over by his dad and now him. The family has been doing this a long time and you can tell he cares. I'm happy to submit this POH nomination.

I called on September 23 when my washer broke. There was a part hanging out of the tub. Matt was able to come over the same day. He did not have the part so he temporarily fixed the washer. He ordered the part. A week later he came to install the part. He did not charge me until the part was installed.

He was so nice. He worked with me all the way down. We decided that with the age of the refrigerator and what was happening with the temperature, it wasn't worth it to come out. It was quite exceptional to do. I ended up buying a new refrigerator. His responsiveness was exceptional. He responded to my call.

It went well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matt and I know that if/when I need another appliance repaired he'll be the one I call. He was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and generally awesome to work with!!! On Wednesday 9/3/2014 I contacted Matt because my dishwasher would not start. I had to leave a message. He returned my call quickly and came to investigate the same day. He diagnosed the problem and we ordered the part- which he helped me find for a reasonable cost. He told me to give him a call when it arrived. Fast forward to Friday 9/5/2014. The part arrived. I called Matt and within an hour the dishwasher was repaired and working hard.

(We have used Matt once in the past and wrote a prior review) Contacted Matt at Allied around 4:30pm Thursday when oven gave a warning message. He answered right away, took down the oven model number an called back within an hour with a quote and when he thought the part would be in. Called Monday to schedule an appointment for Wed. am. Was on time and got to work quickly, tested the temperature of the oven through several cycles. While he was waiting asked if there was anything else going on while he's out. I remembered the filter on the water line in the fridge needed replaced and he happened to have the right one in his truck. He's knowledgeable about all appliance types and brands, I will definitely call him before we purchase another major appliance.

Would not hesitate to use him again.

We were SO angry when A-1 Affordable Appliance left our home without replacing our icemaker, but leaving us with water all over the kitchen floor which also dripped through the floor into the crawl space below. They also did not replace the bottom freezer basket tracks correctly so we could not open the freezer. I consulted Angie's List and found Allied Appliance right here in Bay Village. Matt arrived right on time and was VERY efficient. and professional. When he heard what we had been through with A-1 Affordable Appliance, he not only replaced the icemaker, but also corrected all the problems A-1 had left us with. He explained each thing he was doing and why, and cleaned up after himself. His bill was very reasonable...especially considering his timely response and expert workmanship. We will call Matt any time we need large appliance repair in the future. He really knows what he is doing and wastes no time doing it! A pleasure to have had him in our home!

Called Matt and he came out same day. He arrived exactly when he said he'd arrive. My dryer was giving him a false error code. It was just a faulty button. He priced out a new button and found that it was really expensive so he fixed the broken part himself and then showed me what to do if it starts acting up again. He was really nice and very professional. Guy really knows his stuff. He put a lot of work into fixing one silly button. I recommend him to anyone living on the west side. Can't say enough about how happy I am with this experience.

Matt came out the next day and quickly found the problem (bad circuit board). He replaced the circuit board and the unit worked as good as new. If you are looking for a large appliance repairman, Allied Appliance is who to call. I had them out previously for a washing machine repair job. Highly recommended!

It went very well, we were really pleased. Matthew Saal was really nice, when I first called he tried to give me a way to fix it myself to avoid the cost, but I wasn't able to repair it. He was clean, quick, right on time, and he was great all around.

The repair was completed on the same day of initial contact. The service was provided with efficiency, He was both polite and competent; so rare these days. I couldn't have been more pleased. Told everyone who would listen to me. On the initial phone call I described the problem and gave related serial number for stove. He came with everything needed and was finished within an hour including testing to make sure working properly. Would use this company again.

I told the man that it I felt like I hit the lottery. He was wonderful and fabulous. He called me back within one a half hour and he was here in the afternoon. He gave me some pointers on some appliances that I had.

Now it's running like new. Very professional.

I called first thing Monday morning and got directly in touch with Matt. Told him the issue, he called his part supplier, and called me back within 10 minutes with a quote. Scheduled an appointment for 12:00 that day. He was on time, very efficient, professional. He even took the time to fix an wobbly dishwasher at no extra charge! And he calibrated the oven once it was repaired. Will definitely call again in the future!

He was very responsive, polite, and on time; he came when he said he would, unlike the other company. Unfortunately, the washer motor was finished, and the cost to repair it far outweighed the cost of a new one. He was very honest and advised me what brand to stick with and which ones to steer clear of due to high maintenance and repair costs. He did not even charge me; he said he couldn't fix it so he was not going to charge me. I was shocked, to say the least. I will throw out any other provider and stick with Allied in the future.

Matt Saal was able to diagnose my frig problem over the phone and ordered parts from the model number. He gave me a temporary tip to hold me over until parts arrived. When he did come to make repairs, he was efficient, professional and answered all of my questions. Allied goes on my speed dial for appliance repair!

Matt was punctual and extremely professional, but also took the time to explain to me what wasn't working right, how the part was supposed to work, and then carefully explained how he would fix it. Also discussed the pros and cons of certain brands of appliances, recommended some best practices for using those appliances most efficiently (and to ensure their longevity), and even cleaned out baking debris that was in the bottom of the oven, and underneath the oven. He was quick and extremely competent. I'll not hesitate in calling him whenever I have a problem. He even said I could call if we were ever looking at new appliances, and he'd make recommendations about which ones to avoid and which ones to consider. Third-generation appliance repairman, and his pride in his work was very evident. He's definitely a keeper.

Very prompt and professional service, pleasant and knowledgable. Repaired my refrigerator and even wiped it down when finished. I've used his services before, and always been pleased.

This is the second time I used Matt. He is extremely prompt and quick with his diagnosis. Although the news was not good Matt had a couple recommendations for new refrigerators.

Matt was EXCELLENT! Really! He figured out the issue - the exterminator created a wire trap so that pests wouldn't come in through the dryer vent; but what was happening was that the lint was building up. Matt took the trap off and put a better trap on and truly went above and beyond by cutting a larger hole in my shutter. He maintained the dryer and the washer and gave me some good tips to extend their life. I plan on calling him again. If you want someone who is detail-oriented and conscientious, Matt's the person for you.
