Tim is fantastic - an absolute professional who has a genuine passion for doing beautiful work. He really listened to what I was hoping to achieve, and created a garden plan that brought what I wanted to life in a way I never could have envisioned. He is very knowledgeable, and installed a few plants I've never even seen before (most notably a beautiful weeping redbud and variegated boxwood). He also went to considerable trouble to shop all over town to find just the right plants when they weren't readily available. Our beds are different from anyone else's in the neighborhood, and I love having something so unique and artistic. The small details are important to Tim, and it shows. A great example is his choice of stone for the retaining walls...it's a beautiful golden color that just glows. Left to our own devices, we would have probably picked out something with gray tones...and it wouldn't have looked half as amazing as it does now. Tim also threw in some extras such as re-defining the borders and mulching 2 existing beds so that the entire front of the house looks beautifully finished. It was such a nice surprise! Tim isn't just a landscape professional - he's an artist. He has a creative soul, and the practical skill to turn his visions into reality. What were once overgrown, messy beds are now gorgeous gardens that add tons of personality and curb appeal to our home. We will definitely be using him for ALL of our future landscaping needs, and I highly recommend his work to anyone!

We found Tim Matthews/Beautiful Earth when he was working for another company, and have stuck with him as he started his own landscaping business. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about plants, flowers, and trees, but he is a very hard worker with a creative mind that's brimming with ideas. He cares about doing a great job, and makes sure to keep you informed on what he's doing, what it will cost, your best options, etc. Tim is also very respectful of his customers and their yards. He doesn't cut corners or try to scam you. He's 100 percent quality and we'd recommend him to anyone.

It went well. I had used another landscaper that I got from Angie's List and I had been satisfied with the service. Last fall I received an email from the person at the former landscaper that I had always dealt with saying that he decided to go out on his own and would I come with him. I liked him very much so I decided to go with him. The cleanup of the yard went well. He did all the normal sprucing up of the yard including removing the dead leaves, edging the beds, mulching, weeding,and trimming some branches. I had several shrubs that had died over the winter so he removed them and planted others in their place. He also saw that I needed some plants to be fertilized so he did that. I also had him plant impatiens in my front which has been done for a number of years. The only negative thing was that I waited a while till I contacted him so he was already very busy. I had to wait longer than usual to get my yard done. I had some spots that needed something so he was able to remove some plants from a friend's yard who was moving and transplant them to my yard for no cost which was great. I was not really happy about the impatiens this year and we talked about it and the flowers will be planted earlier next year so they'll be really blooming earlier in the summer. Tim is excellent about communicating with you either by cell phone or email. He always returns my calls or emails extremely promptly. If there is any kind of problem, he is there to try and make it right. He is very trustworthy and honest. He also has started a grass cutting service. We were away for several weeks so my husband said to let him cut the grass. After that he finally decided to let him cut the grass for the whole summer. His crew shows up every week and my husband says that they do a very good job. Their price is also good. I expect to be a customer of Tim's for the many years to come.

Initially I met Tim Matthews several years ago while he was working for a different company. I have a large yard, over an acre with 16 years worth of my own gardening all thru it. I had Tim Matthews and his crews work on the weeding and spring clean up, along with mulching. Tim was on site the entire time and worked harder than any “manager” on a landscape crew than I’d ever had experience with. I was delighted with the finished product. In 2011 I really wanted to make several major changes in my overall design so I went looking for Tim Matthews but could not find him at the same company. Knowing how much care Tim had put into his work – I looked harder and was THRILLED to find that he has started his own family run business – BEAUTIFUL EARTH. I called and within two days Tim was at my house to discuss possibilities for my beloved gardens and yard and to give me an estimate. He spent several hours with me walking the property with me while thoughtfully listening to what I hoped to accomplish. He answered all my questions (all the while sharing his knowledge with me and giving me helpful advice). Before he left, he gave me a detailed design option for my front and backyard that not only was AWESOME for its visual interest, use of edibles and ability to be built upon in the future, but also because it showcased how closely Tim had listened to me and how he was crafting a plan that I could layer into my existing garden – he incorporated every little thing I mentioned during our consultation along with a lot of interesting things I'd have never thought of. The design plan and was truly customized just for me and I didn't have to spend a dime on his consultation. (Several other companies I called weren’t interested in talking to me at all unless I wanted to pay to see their ideas.) Once I told Tim I wanted to go ahead with his plan, it wasn't long before he and a crew were out making it happen. The others working with Tim were just as nice and professional. All three of them were always willing to answer questions about the plants, explain how to care for them and were always patient and kind to me. Tim was heavily involved in the whole process, including making little changes here in there as they went to make the landscaping more robust, including giving me extra plants not in the original design without any additional cost. Tim also came back to my house after the job was completed to give me a thorough walk-through. When he left, he said he wanted to keep in touch and that he'd be back in several weeks to see how things are going. I could not be happier with the overall experience and know that Tim Matthews at BEAUTIFUL EARTH is truly interested in developing a relationship, not just selling a service. Its obvious Tim is interested in making this world a better place and he is happy to share his Knowledge & Craftsmanship. Tim Matthews passion is very catchy, very inspiring, he really got me excited again about my landscaping. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Tim Matthews and Beautiful Earth. I will continue to use them for maintenance monthly – have another project planned with Tim in the fall, and will use him again in the future.
