I called to have a yellow jacket's nest removed because I had been stung several times last summer and didn't want a repeat. Tim came to our house at the scheduled time, but he explained that yellow jackets don't use their nests two years in a row, and the ones that I saw hovering around this spring were just the queens and they hadn't built their nests for this year yet. I felt like I got a great education from someone who knows his job well. I will definitely use this company in the future for yellow jackets but also for any other pest problems. He couldn't have been nicer and more courteous.

Very well. The yellow jackets were getting in to the house and I was out of town. We were able to deal with the problem without them needing to enter the house. They made it as easy as possible.

I've had a problem with carpenter bees in one area of the fascia for a few years. I would treat the area by myself but they would always come back. I got this company's name from searching Angie's List and was very happy with them. He was only treat the affected area saying that was all that was needed. But I insisted that he spray the entire fascia. Other than that, he didn't try to 'sell' me any other services. I prefer to hire locally owned companies and will hire them again if and when needed.

Did a complete review of the whole house. Did not find any trace of the problem. The tech explained other possible causes for the issues we where having and reviewed ways to monitor the situation. Gave me a quote for the service if we decided to spray for the pest. The inspection fee would be removed from the final cost. Hoban was the only company I contacted that did a complete inspection of the home and gave me an honest assessment.

The roofers wouldn't go up there until I got rid of the yellow jackets. He smoked out the yellow jacket nest, took them out and then sprayed a pesticide that will kill any that got back to where the nest was. I call him for any pests. I like him. I pay them per visit. If I have any pests, he's the man I'm calling.

I did extensive research on eliminating bed bugs from two do-it-yourself sites. I learned the chemicals, prevention methods and follow-up procedures, symptoms of bed bugs, their life cycle, etc. to better prepare myself to solve the bed bug problem. The two exterminators who came out did a thorough job of spraying. However, they almost missed a couple sections of our wooden bed frame that needed dismantling to get to hidden areas (they did miss one section, that they had to come out and do later). They didn't spray into the wall outlets, a place where bugs are known to hide (according to the websites), but they did spray behind pictures on the wall (but not around wooden door frames). Their knowledge of bed bugs seemed pretty adequate, but not great. Some of the traps I bought online, to see if bed bugs are still around (the traps send out pheromones to lure bugs in), and "pest strips" (used for clothing that can't be machine washed, so you put the clothing and pest strip in a sealed plastic bag; the strip odor kills any bugs) they never mentioned. They didn't talk about any kind of checking afterward, or any other kinds of products to help eliminate bed bugs. They didn't suggest taking the wooden bed frame apart, and out. Given the fact that the bed frame was an ideal habitat for the bed bugs to stay in, I'm very surprised (and somewhat disappointed) they didn't suggest that. If I hadn't done it myself, there'd still be bugs there, and I'd probably have to pay for another spraying (they did offer to come out a third time for $100, which was good, but if that wooden bed frame had remained, it's likely a third spraying wouldn't do it). Then I'd be paying all over again. I feel the company is professional and courteous and prompt. Their price seemed fine. And I know bed bugs often require a second or third application to eliminate. But their focus was on just spraying, with no other methods or advice to share. I would hire the company again for extermination, but possibly not if it was bed bugs. I needed more than just their spraying to get the job done.

He was right on time, polite, considerate of my phobia of bugs and cleaned up after he was done. He was very thorough and explained each issue to me. He also informed me of a water damage problem of which I was not aware. I would call them again anytime!

Yellow jackets moved inside the back wall of our home, entering through a crack in the stone sill under the picture window. I first tried the do-it-yourself approach with wasp sprays a number of times and was getting nowhere except stung. I called Hoban and they were able to schedule the visit the same day. Will called to let me know when he would be there. He was professional and very knowledgeable. He performed a multi-step application and within 24 hours, the colony was gone. He said it appeared to be a very dense colony and to call back if any further problems developed. We are extremely satisfied with the solution.,

They first came out in July and sprayed all affected areas after doing a thorough review of the interior and exterior of my home. Carpenter ants are always difficult to eliminate, and I called them when they came back. They will treat areas again for up to 90 days. They are thorough and very professional.

We have had contractors doing work in our backyard and yellow jackets were flying after them as they walked through side yard to get to back yard. I called after 2:00 on Friday afternoon and they were able to schedule service the same afternoon. The person answering the phone was courteous and knowledgeable. The exterminator was here and gone by 4:30. He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Service is guaranteed and if we see any yellow jacket activity in that area Monday they will come back & treat again.

While investigating some rotting window casements, I found ant like insects under some aluminum flashing. I don't know much about insects, but feared the worst. I've heard how destructive termites can be. I called Matt at Hoban Pest Control yesterday and after some discussion, Matt thought my insects were most likely not termites. He arranged an inspection for the next day (today). Tim called me within the agreed time frame and said he was in transit. When Tim arrived he determined the insects I found were not termites and were types that would only feed on wet rotting wood, such as those I found under the aluminum. Tim was very knowledgeable and quickly identified the types of insects, (ants and beetles) by the damage to the wood and found a beetle egg sack and showed it to me. I learned a great deal from Tim and Matt! I was very relieved to determine no termites were present and almost felt guilty that these fine people had invested so much time in my problem and didn't charge a dime! Thank you Hoban Pest Control. If ever I have a pest problem I can't handle, you will most definitely be the ones I'll call.

Very professional and nice. Haven't seen critters since he sprayed. Made an appointment the same day I called!

Arrived on the scheduled day. (had to wait 2-3 days... busy.) Got here, explained what he was going to do and how. I told him I was concerned that they might come into the house through the fireplace vents, as I had killed a dozen or so inside and didn't know how they were getting in. He reassured me that shouldn't become a problem. He sprayed a knock-down product into the hole they were using, and then applied a powder and a final spray into the hole with a liquid product in his vehicle. Cautioned us to avoid the area as the products confuse and agitate them, and things should be quiet by the next day... 24 hrs. I killed a dozen or so over the first 24 hrs. and left a message requesting that they re-treat. Found another 20 or so last night and today ranging between dead, groggy, walking unsteadily or trying to fly. It is my hope that someone will check the messages from the weekend tomorrow morning and get someone out here again ito finish this job so I can finalize my review. So far things are not looking good. .............................................................................................................................................................. Hoban returned a third time and this treatment finished off the entire nest. It was inside the exterior wall around my fireplace insert and couldn't be accessed. Caulked up the entry point and hope to h*** it doesn't happen again. I am phobic about stinging insects. All is well now.

I called on June 17 and set an appointment for June 18 between 8:30 and 10:30. Ryan arrived at 9:45, discussed the issues with my husband. They decided on a course of action. Ryan got right to work, took care of the job, discussed future needs and was gone at 10:55. We couldn't have asked for better, more professional service. We highly recommend Hoban for their courteous, well done, professional service. Ryan is an excellent example of a perfect employee and should be commended for a job well done.

Everyone was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable.......from the lady who took my appointment to the two guys who came to my house. They were able to come out very quickly and were accommodating to my schedule. I feel confident that their first application will take care of my carpenter ant problems but they provide a 3 month guarantee in case they come back.

They scheduled to come out the day after I called. Arrived on time and was very professional. Removed a large hornet's nest and disposed of it quickly. Cost was exactly what they said it would be. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

I called on July 17, 2015 because I noticed yellow jackets had built a nest in my porch. Hoban sent a man the next day. They were courteous and professional. They called before they came and he took care of the yellow jackets. He also sprayed around the outside of the house since it was such a small job he said. I forgot to mention the Angie's list coupon so I didn't get the discount but they were very good.

I arrived at my elderly mother's house at lunchtime to discover yellow jackets had chewed through the ceiling and were buzzing through the house. I got my mother to safety, and called Hoban Pest Control. They sent someone to her house within an hour and half. I did not get the name of the exterminator, but he was very nice, efficient, and treated my elderly mother with respect. He explained what needed to be done and the steps involved. He plugged the hole in the ceiling and destroyed the nest, making my mom's house safe once again. I highly recommend Hoban Pest Control. They came out quickly and were very professional. A+ service all the way.

I am blown away. I received a call from my contractor at 9:25 a.m.: nest of yellow jackets. Crew member already stung. Need it removed in the next half hour because the demo and prep is heading towards the area of the nest. I signed on to Angie's List. Did a quick search for exterminators, and there was Hoban with the ribbon of excellence icon. Cathy @ Hoban could not have been nicer or more accommodating. She found a technician in the area, and by 10:20 my contractor sent a text that the service was done and the technician was "a pro." Great. Adam was out over 2 hours. Did extensive remediation of spiders and bugs. Was helpful and extremely thorough even climbing into the crawl space and removing insulation in search of an entry point.

Tim performed his duties with the perfect blend of professionalism and friendliness. He sprayed an all-natural and non-toxic yet very effective ant insecticide into the nests we had in our garage. He was very knowledgable; he found the nests quickly and did a great job. He explained what he was doing in terms I could understand. When he flushed out the ants, he came to my door and asked if I was squeamish about bugs, and asked if I wanted to come see the ants leaving the nest. In other words, he kept me informed during the process.

We moved to a new home and discovered that there were WAY more spiders than we were used to and wanted to have in and around our home. I called to schedule an appointment and the woman I spoke to was very polite and helpful in scheduling the appointment for the following day. Barrett came out the next day and performed the spraying of the entire outside and inside of our home. He was very friendly and professional and explained the entire process to me before he got started so I knew how everything would go. He answered all the questions I had and provided helpful tips to keep spiders away. It's only been a few days but so far I haven't seen any new spiders so we are happy with the service. I will definitely use them again next year.
