Hoban Pest Control

Had them out last summer, prompt, friendly , and effective. Treated around my home and yard. No problems with fleas or ticks, pet friendly products, and no problems with bees! Very pleased with their service. Will have back this year.

Requested a quote through Angie's list. They were the first and only company that I requested a quote from. Over one week after requesting a quote, the company still hadn't contacted me at all. I went back to Angie's list and requested quotes from two other companies this time. Both companies contacted me the same day as the quote request.

This company was acquired by Ehrlich. We were customers of Hoban for over 20 years. Since the acquisition, the customer service is terrible. They failed to show for the last scheduled appointment and despite hours of trying to reach them, they do not answer the phone. Time to find a new service provider. Sad they took an excellent local company and made a disaster of it.

Once we got past the issues with initial communications and callback problems (which led to an earlier, much lower review), they did a good job. The conversation and inspection were more important than the actual pest control.

It took two treatment to get rid of the pests but they are gone now. We purchased the maintenance agreement as we know the bees will return in the spring and the ants may migrate back into the house after the summer ends.

On 5/7/18 Rick came out & dusted cracks & crevices on interior & treated full exterior & perimeter for carpenter ants. Within next 2 weeks more ants were spotted. Rick returned 5/22/18 & treated exterior perimeter and spot-treated inside of house. Placed bait along foundation perimeter. No evidence of ants since.

Kyle came out and identified the entry point for the mice by doing a very thorough inspection of the exterior of the house and then setting a number of traps in the basement, garage and attic to catch any remaining critters in the house. He also caulked areas that he thought could be problematic and possible entry points. Came back a week later to retrieve traps. No issues since then...Kyle was professional, on time and his service was terrific!

Very well, I called the office & spoke with the receptionist, she was very polite and told me the technician who covered our area didn't have any openings left for that day but she would call and ask him when he could come out. She returned my call promptly and said the technician agreed to come out after his last appointment if we didn't mind him coming after hours. I was thrilled since my husband is allergic to bee stings. The technician, Kyle came out, was very polite, explained what he was doing, and did a very thorough job. He was a delight to deal with. Would call again!

Specialists explained what their approach and were thorough in identifying where the mice were getting into the house. Both were professional, friendly, and respectful of our property.

It went great - very professional, punctual and thorough. Full home inspection, possible entry areas pinpointed. Clear explanation, traps set, good follow-up, etc. Recommended to do business with.

First visit did not completely eliminate problem. Second visit with a different person did. They came the same afternoon I called and the second visit was under their warranty. No more hornets in the bathroom.

When I called, they came the next day, and when I called them back they came that same day.

We suspected we had an ant nest where we were having some new construction done. Bill was timely and patient. He treated the nest and waited to make sure he was happy with the results. He also inspected some other areas just to be sure there weren't other issues. We would highly recommend them.

I hired them and they told me what needed to be done. I worked with them to do everything they said and the fleas are now gone.

They got them removed. I would hire them again for any other issues I have.

The people who helped set up the appointment on the phone and technicians who visited are all incredibly friendly, helpful and understanding. Hoban went out of its way to make sure the job was completed and expectations were met. I can't recommend Hoban enough.

I owned a town house and one row of houses had evidence of termites. They came out and provided annual maintenance for a year.

We needed an evaluation of a pest problem that has been challenging. We asked these guys to come out due to their largely inflated ratings here on Angie's List. Our home is a split level, we have something burrowing under our kitchen and alongside our sunken family room. We wanted some counsel on the problem and we were looking for a new approach. Given the ratings, I assumed these guys were top class and could provide a new thought or idea. Bill was INCREDIBLY rude to my wife. Had I been there, I'd have probably throw them out of my house. He all but called her a liar and that we didn't have a pest burrowing under our home and that the noises (which we have on recording) were not an animal but something else. He basically waved off any and all concerns with, "there aren't any droppings, so there's nothing I can do". THESE GUYS SUCK!!! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!

They came back to do a second application since it rained. I didn't even ask them to come out the second time, they did it out of courtesy. I have been using them for years.

Overall I am happy! I have not seen any bugs and they are way better than our old pest control company that we had.

They might be a little pricey, but not that much.

They came out and sprayed the area - no more ants!
