I would say perfect, save for the fact that it took the guys so long to do the job. Standing seam does take longer, however, there were at least three days where the weather was beautiful and they quit shortly after lunch. Despite it taking three weeks from start to finish, our roof looks absolutely beautiful. It was nice to have a roofing company where the guy who looks at the job and gives the bid, comes back and does the work - with his brother and the same guys day after day. Matt's dad was out to re-measure everything and ran errands for them a few times. Matt and Rueben's mom does the scheduling. Other quotes for the same job were $10,000.00 more - unaffordable! These guys replaced only boards that needed to be replaced, rather than re-sheeting the whole roof. They put in the skylights for the cost of the skylights, my husband framed them in. They cleaned up pretty well every day (I'm a bit of a neat-nick and still went out to get nails and screw that they missed - and there were overlooked sharp bits, hard to help, but a word of caution) There was a big storm, tornado sirens, the whole bit, right after they'd torn off the front and put down new roofing felt. Oliver, Matt's dad, called as it was starting and told me to keep an eye on it and if anything blew, they'd be right over. It was as sound as could be and reassuring to know that they were thinking of us. Matt came out after the job was finished to clean debris out of the gutters and to take pictures for their website. M & R is a nice, small, family company. They are skilled workers and follow through to the end of the job. really a pleasure!

Because we had a leak in our existing roof, M&R Roofing worked with us to install the new roof as quickly as possible, getting us scheduled within a few weeks of contacting them. They arrived on time and worked steadily throughout both days that they were here. In observing their work flow throughout both days, it was obvious that they were accustomed to working as a highly skilled, experienced professional team. They were willing to answer questions whenever asked and were good-natured about all the picture taking as they were working! This is a family owned and operated business, with three generations of the family represented in the crew who did our job. While the sons delight in having their "secretary" (who is their mom) take care of the administrative details, we suspect that she keeps a tight rein on the whole crew. All in all, this was most assuredly one of our best contracting experiences -- they did the job in the timeframe we needed, they did the work efficiently and professionally, and we have a solid, gorgeous new roof as a result! Called M&R for an estimate on roof replacement. They went to house the following day as promised and called me while there to discuss situation. Quickly provided me with an estimate. I later called them to request a separate estimate for additional work and they provided me with an estimate for that as well. Excellent price and service.

I had M & R Roofing come out last year to put in an attic fan. I thought I would wait until a season or two passed before posting my review, because it?s hard to say whether or not something like that will leak until it has rained a few times. Workmanship to this point (6months after install) is excellent. Anyway, I had some trouble with getting them out to give the estimate to start with, but the other two companies I called did not even bother to call back. So I?m thinking they were better than the competition (this really is not saying much [sadly 2 other Angie?s list companies]). Once here they got the job done in a few hours and the fellow that did the work was friendly enough. Now here?s the kicker. I asked them to come back this spring because I noticed that I had a leak at some flashing over my garage. I suspect that there are more leaks in other areas even though I do not see water damage yet. So, I called them again. Took a couple of days? to call back, same as before, and the lady that did, told me they didn?t do flashing (???). So, I asked if they could recommend someone and she said she would ask the guys (remember excellent workmanship above). She called back later and told me that she was mistaken and that they did do flashing but not soffit repairs. Ok, this is not a problem. We worked out that they could not come out during the week since they only work from 8-4 and were not willing to come in the evening. She offered to have the owner (her husband, family business) come out on Saturday. Saturday comes and he shows up. Weather outside was a light mist of rain, but still very wet on roof. So I start to explain what was happening and he gives me an attitude about how he?s not going to crawl around on the roof cause it was wet. OK, I understand and didn?t expect him to do so. So, I asked if he would have someone come out during the week to look (even though I hate having contractors around my house when I?m not there). He says yes and takes off. I?m left wondering why he didn?t just call and cancel. It?s now a week (nicest week so far this year) and a couple of days later, and I have not heard back from them. I followed up after waiting a week with three phone calls, no one answered, even left a message with both my cell and my home phone once (I don?t like giving out my cell either). Roofers in this area seem to have an over abundance of work, which makes them very unwilling to do smaller jobs. Not worth their time I think. They just need to come out and say this though. That way folks like me don?t have to wait while the roof is leaking and causing damage, while they wait until it?s convenient for them to come out and fix it as a side job.

I called the company at 7:20am, and they answered their phone! Within 3 hours they were working on our roof. We were very pleased with their services. We will happily use them for all of our roofing needs.

First of all, this was a great experience from the woman who answered the phone to the people who came out (I wasn't home my husband was). We have a leaking ceiling due to ice on an upper roof--I wasn't sure they could reach the problem but they were willing to come out and see. They couldn't actually get on the second roof (it is metal) and putting ladders on the first roof was too slippery but they were able to get down the largest chunk of ice. They also removed ice from the stairs outside (which was considerable) which wasn't part of the deal at all. So, I feel they went above and beyond the call of duty and they refused to take money because they couldn't finish the job (they couldn't get to it!). I am sure they will be back during spring thaw to fix whatever problem is up there.

Excellent work - very responsive and they fixed the problem!

This was such a good experience. I called the company around 11:00 this morning to get an estimate to remove 2 ice dams that had built up on our roof. They were able to come out by 1:00 this afternoon and performed the work in about 30 minutes. They removed snow and ice that had built up in our gutters, and applied ice melt in the gutters to help break up the ice. The owner also salted our sidewalk and front porch for us, and gave us some tips on how to prevent the ice dams from building up again in the future. I was relieved they could fit us into their busy schedule on short notice, and very happy with the results!

They did call me back which I appreciated, but I did not use them.

I earlier gave the company a poor rating due to lack of communication. After that rating, they worked very hard to please me. They called and we immediately agreed on a date for service. On that date, the company came to my home and made the repairs. Since the issue was caused by ice back up I'll need to wait until mid-winter to see if the repairs solved the problem.

It was a good experience. It was very fairly priced. They did it on the weekend. They sdaid they would get it done on the weekend, and they had it done. So far so good with the quality of the work.

I left a message for a return call around 10:00 pm on 5/20/2009. I received a call early in the day on 5/21/2009. Although she indicated that the company was completely booked with roof work alone right now and that they weren't doing any gutter work currently, she was very professional and apologetic. I was pleased to receive a prompt response.

We had a leak in our kitchen. I called on a Friday afternoon and they came out the next morning and quickly diagnosed the problem, gave a very fair quote and repaired the problem. The company is family owned and they do all of their own work(no sub contractors). I will definitely use them again.

My overall experience was excellent with one exception. The finished roof looks beautiful; all members of the staff and work crew were courteous and sufficient, and they left very little debris. They answered my questions promptly and satisfactorily. I have had several positive comments about the appearance of the roof, and have already recommended this company to my neighbor.

Lost shingles to hurricane winds. Called M&R a couple of days after the damage, and they were out the next day. They replaced the shingles, and while they were up on the roof, pointed out other minor repairs (not related to storm damage), some that needed to be addressed immediately, some that could wait. Took care of the immediate repairs while they were here. Very responsive and very reasonable. I will use them again.

Called M&R a few days after the storm. Receptionist was helpful. Stated that they were extremely busy due to the storm but that she would have someone give me a call within a few days. Repairman called a few days later, said they would be in my area to inspect the roof and place a tarp until the repair work could be done. Arrived on time and were able to fix my roof on the spot with two shingles that I had in the basement. Took care with my bushes and plants as they used their ladder to get on the roof. Did the work quickly and efficiently. Cleaned up after themselves.

I was impressed from start to finish with the professionalism and quality of work. Matthew provided us a detailed quote and walked us through the work to be done. He nailed the start date for the work within a day or two. Everything happened just as he said it would when he said it would with regards to delivery of the materials. The crew was professional and did a great job and also did a superb job of cleaning up after themselves. I can't say enough good things about this company. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I don't have anything negative to say about them, they do great work, they did the best they could to stay on schedule despite weather issues. They are very honest and reliable, they really take a lot of pride in their work. They have done work for us with two different roofing material and will begin doing work on a completely different one soon, they have expertise in many different types of roofing materials.

The experience was excellent. Oliver was very professional and helpful. He provided terrific service.

I thought that they were honest and upfront with the cost. I did have a deadline to get the work done and they were willing to do the work when I needed it. I thought that the workers were very nice and understanding. I will be using them to work on the new house we are moving to.

Matt inspected my roof and found that the leak was located by the bathroom pipe that exited the roof, and the repair was simple enough requiring some shingles replaced. He stated that although the roof was 20+ years old, he could tell that the house was properly vented because otherwise the leaks that I had been experiencing could have been due to attic condensation. He quoted $275 to complete the repair, asked me where the nearest Lowe's/Home Depot was located, and within the hour, he found the store, purchased the needed replacement shingles, and repaired the leak. He also suggested replacing the roof within the next 12-18 months. Overall, Matt was very personable, polite, thorough. I would hire him again.

They completed the work in under 2 hours and the cost was exactly what they had quoted us on the phone. We were pleased with the work they performed and would recommend them to others.

M & R roofing did an amazing job. They were always on time and kept great communication. Our roof was well done.

We sent an e-mail requesting a quote to M&R Roofing on a Sunday afternoon. Matt responded that same afternoon to let us know he had received our request and would contact us early in the week to schedule an estimate. He called as he said he would and came out as scheduled to provide a quote. After we selected his company and chose our roof, he said that they would start roofing in mid-May. They actually didn't get started until May 29th, but he was always quick to respond to our calls checking on a start date and proactively called us at other times. The crew arrived at 7:15 in the morning and started working immediately. They said that it would take about 3 days. Although, they were gone before we got home from work the 3rd day, we know that they started at 7:15 or so each morning and worked until about 6:00 on the second day. The whole crew appeared to very hard working. We had two small issues, but these were addressed as soon as raised concern.

I called M & R & left a message in regards to the work I needed done. They returned my call the next day & had me scheduled for the same week. M & R replaced the shingles, & followed up with a phone call to give me a general status of my roof. All in all, I was very pleased with their service & I would certainly do business with them again.
