M & R ROOFING & REPAIRS, LLC

Brought this deal through Angie's big deal. We had some water leakage in the extended kitchen section, we did inspect but did not see anything that would indicate what the issue could be. Hence we did a professional opinion and hoped this deal will help take care of the issue. The next day after we brought the deal we had a call from them to schedule for an appointment and was able to get a time the following week. The day of appointment they called in to indicate if the weather was going to clear then they will on time, it did clear and they did make it on time. Two guys came in to review the roof they did not find anything wrong with the roof. It did not take a long time for them to tell me what the issue is with the leak it was a missing flashing. But they indicated they will not be able to fix the issue as it requires some cutting and inserting the flashing and resealing. We were not expecting that response. Also he indicated that they will send a quote to fix the issue after they get the office. We are 2 weeks out from the appointment but we still not have received the email. Appreciate they were able to come out and take a look at the issue but we will not render their services in future.

The people were friendly to deal with, when you could get them to call you back and show up. Family run business with two brother doing the roof work and their mother handling the office/scheduling. I called them in late August and left a message to have someone do an estimate. I did not get a call back, so I called a second time and was succesful in getting the estimate scheduled. M&R Roofing & Repairs came on the September 6 to provide an estimate and the gentlman said that his brother would be back the following week to do the work, but they never came. We called again the next week and they never returned the call. I called again on September 27 and got to talk to the office manager and she apologized for not calling back and told me how busy they were. I understood my job was minor and not urgent, but they set the expectations on when the work would be done, not me. I was told they would call back to schedule the work. That did not happen. I called yet again and left a message and the office manager called me back and asked what they were supposed to be coming out to do, an estimate or some work (very disorganized, but still very polite). I got is squared away and scheduled them to come out on Monday, October 15 to do the repair. We were not home at the time. They did not leave a bill or call us for a while so we were not sure if they even came and did the work (we will find out if the water spot on our bathroom ceiling gets bigger I guess). Anyway, a week or so after this review was posted on Angie's list, the office manager called to apologize. She let me know the work was performed on 10/16 and that they would not be billing us because of all of the confusion. They also have offered us a credit for future work to try to compensate for all of the confusion. I appreciate the gesture and attempt to satisfy the issue, but I don't think we would use them again unless they improve their office operation. I handled all of the contacts, but I couldn't really let my wife know were we stood with getting the repair done because of their poor communication and the fact they did not return half of the voicemails I left for them. Thus, she was pretty disgusted with the experience. We didn't need the whole roof done and just needed some minor repairs. We understood that it didn't take priority over doing a whole roof, but the fact that they said they were going to be here next week and then they called us this Monday and asked if they were supposed to give us an estimate or do the repairs. They didn't know why they were supposed to be coming out. They came out and looked at it an actually got on the roof and said that it would be a really quick fix and only needed a couple of hours. We were kind of confused that if it was going to be so fast why they just didn't do it that day instead of making all of these other appointments. They were very polite when they came out and took off their shoes when they went through our house and were very nice people, but the reason we got Angie's List was because we've been going through experiences like this and wanted to find some reliable people. They had been rated well on the website and we tried and it just didn't work. Original review written by my wife in late October and updated by myself (husband) on November 8 to provide a little more detail since I handled the interaction directly an since the company requested we increase their score as part of them waiving the charge and offering a future credit. Like I have said, they were all extremely nice to deal with, when they called back. The gentleman that I talked with for the estimate was very professional and knowledgable, and seemed like a good guy. I'm not sure why the communication was so bad and they did not follow up as they had promised initially or simply asked us to reschedule because of other jobs they had to do.

A leak developed in the roof of our 12 year old home. Over the course of 5 years we had 3 different roofing companies supposedly identify and fix the problem at costs ranging from $400 to $700 each time. Most recently we called M&R when water begin pouring from the ceiling during a heavy rain storm. They came out the same afternoon. Were very professional and unlike the previous contractors, spent a significant amount of time inspecting the roof and clearly explained to me exactly where the problem was. They also pointed out all of the shoddy work completed by the previous companies who had simply gooped sealant all over roof in an attempt to stop any leaks. They removed a section of damaged shingles covering a 3' x 4' and and replaced them with brand new shingles. The work was performed in around an hour at a very reasonable price compared to the previous contractors. Since M & R made the repairs, we have had a number of very heavy rain storms and so far no sign of leaks.

From estimate 3 weeks prior to installation date I felt very good about M&R. Felt like a really friendly family oriented business and had a high level of integrity and quality.

They came within a couple of days (which was excellent due to the widespread roofing problems in the area at that time). They were honest, charged a reasonable flat fee and did a general inspection of the roof.

They were very nice to deal with. They came out quickly, despite it being a busy time of year for roofers. They were excellent about follow-up and really kept in contact with us, without becoming a nuisance. We would consider them when we are ready to have the roof replaced.

Came home at 11pm Friday night to a shattered skylight. Called M&R and was pleasently surprised when someone answered the phone even though it was late at night. Left my information and they said that someone would be out in the morning. They called back at 7am Saturday. The crew (2 sons and father) arrived early and performed the emergency repair to keep the rain out.

The work turned out good. They were prompt as they were here when they said they would be. The guys were all nice and they cleaned up well.

I would recommend them. They were very friendly, and they did a great job. It is definitely a family run company.

They made the cost of the service call clear before I hired them. They figured out the design flaw quickly, the repair fixed the problem.

The timing was horrible. They would schedule times tentatively and then never show up or never even contact us to let us know. It took about 2-4 months to have them come out and finish the work. The work so far has held up.

They started the job a few weeks behind schedule and did not keep us informed very well of changes and delays. Some delay was due to poor weather. Once started, they worked fairly quickly until they were almost finished. They didn't want to work on the weekend even though we had wonderful weather for November and they were almost finished. We then had a strong rain and wind storm which resulted in a leak in the roof when part of the roofing material came off (no shingles). They did respond quickly when we called them at 9 pm with the problem. When they went to finish the job, they ran out of shingles before it was completed which resulted in another few day's delay. Generally clean up was good although wrapping from the shingles were flying around the neighborhood as they worked due to the windy conditions.

M&R Roofing came out quickly on a Saturday to help us meet a deadline we had for putting the house on the market and did a fabulous job. They blended the new roof shingles in to the original shake shingles we were keeping seamlessly. I would hire them again in a minute!

Overall, M&R Roofing did a great job. Initially, we had some difficulty with call backs concerning our estimate and scheduling. However, once it was scheduled, Matt arrived promptly, was very courteous and professional, and the work was meticulously done. It looks great and I would not hesitate to use them again.

M & R ROOFING & REPAIRS M & R Roofing & Repairs, had put a new roof on my house 2 years ago. I had another contractor put an addition on my house and it messed up a valley on the roof. So, I had M & R Roofing, come out to repair it, I have used them 2 or 3 times now. They did a very good job!

The estimate was done in a timely manner. The repair work was also timely and done correctly and quickly. This is the second time we've hired these folks and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. I highly recommend them for their professionalism, courteousness, fair pricing and fast service.

I was very impressed with their responsiveness, attention to detail and promptness in finishing the job. Did a great job of cleaning up every day after their work.

They were very accomdating in finding a time that was convenient for me to get my estimate. Matt was very professional and helpful. The quote he gave was about $500 less than the first roofer who had looked at my roof. Unfortunately I had to cancel for financial reasons, but I would do business with them in future.

I called them (and a whole bunch of other roofing companies) when I realized the roof was leaking. They were the only ones who were willing or able to come out that same day to diagnose the problem and perform an emergency repair. I was endlessly grateful and more than willing to pay the $175 fee for a short-term fix, in order to keep the water out until a full repair could be performed. It turned out the problem was not with the roof or flashing, but with the chimney, which needed both tuckpointing and a new cap. They patched the crack in the chimney cap, which helped slow down the amount of water coming in. Because of all the rain, and their backed-up schedule, they were unable to schedule the full chimney repair right away. Another company was able to come and perform that repair sooner, so I went with them. But I was so impressed with M&R, and their willingness to be of prompt and gracious service on very short notice, that I would definitely call them again. I even offered to pay them an additional $25 (when it turned out I was going with the other company for the full repair -- to reimburse them more fully for their emergency repair to me), but they refused. This is a top-quality operation.

They gave me an estimate and it was exactly what the charged me. They showed up when they were supposed to and fixed the problem.

My experiences with roofing companies have typically been bad--I wasn't sure there was really a good, trustworthy company out there. At last, I've found one. I purchased an Angie's List coupon for roofing repairs as I knew our old roof was showing signs of trouble. GIven the rainy spring, it was difficult to find a dry day for the repairs. M&R was highly professional--calling and keep me informed as the date shifted due to the weather. On the first dry day, Matt came out to handle the repair. He was great--knowledgeable, professional, dedicated to making sure I was happy with the work. He went above and beyond to make sure all the needed repairs (nail holes, flashing, vent base) were taken care of. It's clear that he believes in growing his business the old-fashioned way--by doing the right thing. I'd definitely hire him again.

March 2011 brought the most rain, wind and cold we have experience in a long time. During the heaviest down pour my roof started leaking and moisture was showing on the ceiling of my living room. I contacted M & R Roofing for help. They responded quickly securing the roof until the rain stopped for a permanent repair. After a week or so when the weather permitted M & R Roofing repaired the leak. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism shown by owner Matt. I will certainly hire this company again when I need a new roof.

I had scheduled M & R Roofing to give me an estimate for a repair to my roof. Matt came March 4th at the designated time -- he was very friendly and professional. He gave me a very reasonable price to fix the leak. I told him I would think about going ahead with the repair, or wait until the fall to have the entire roof replaced. The very next morning I noticed the leak in my home had gotten larger -- this is all happening during heavy rainfall for nearly a week. Well, I paniced and called the emergency number for M & R Roofing and left a message. It wasn't long when I got a call from Matt and he said he could be at my home around 11:30am. I was so relieved. Sure enough Matt arrived, as promised -- he placed some heavy plastic over the areas that were in need of repair -- he even took a picture so I could see what was done. Matt is terrific!

After I purchased the coupon I called M&R to make an appointment. Due to the bad winter weather, I anticipated that the appointment would be after the weather improved. I was able to schedule on a day that was convenient for me (March 1) and was told an exact appointment time...not a "window". I really liked that because I had to coordinate some other home projects that same day. Matt arrived right on time and I explained a couple of roof/gutter concerns that we had. He immediately got started with inspection and maintenance work. (He replaced some shingles and secured some loose ones..) After he was finished, he printed out (right on the spot! Must have had a printer/fax in his truck.) a detailed estimate of some recommended repairs. I was very impressed! In the folder with the estimate was a copy of the company's Certificate of Liability Insurance. I appreciated that! Really showed professionalism. We decided to go with Matt's suggestions and we will be having them come out to do the roof and gutter repair work. I've mailed the deposit and we are now on the work list. I'll follow up with another report after the work is finished.

I had a roof put on back in 2008. I recently had some small damage on the ceiling. They came out right away. They examined the damage and discovered the problem was an ice dam. They are a great company and I just can't say enough good things about them. I wouldn't have any other roofer.
