The Final Coat

I had a unique experience with The Final Coat. I bought an Angie's List coupon and had them come out to do some work in my kitchen based on the reviews I had read. All arrangements were made through the office manager and the work was scheduled over the phone. When the actual painter arrived it turned out the work I had requested was not something that could be done with the walls in their existing condition (I had removed the wallpaper myself and left the walls in a condition unsuitable for Knock Off.) Since I had bought the coupon I had some alternate work done instead. In the process of doing that work a light was accidentally broken. When I contacted the company owner about my unsatisfying experience he promptly arranged to meet me and review the situation. He referred me to a drywall company that could do the necessary repair work and rebated a portion of the Angie's List coupon price.

Great job on getting our wrought iron fence/gates painted. The whole experience from first contact to final job was done with professionalism an expertise. Thanks so much! Great job!

Preliminary quote was given by owner. Actual worker evaluated the job. One employee did the paint work, and another did the wallpaper work. We have used Final Coat in the past and would use them again. We felt prices a bit high, but did not do a comparison with other companies, so we cannot fairly evaluate that area.

Everyone was friendly, prompt and very professional. We started with the half bath downstairs at the end of remodeling it. They even scheduled us the next day after the estimates. The outcome was spectacular and the room looks wonderful. The first upstairs office also came out wonderful. The second upstairs room and bath turned our to be a real challenge. The Mrs. wanted gold, and we were using the Valspar Metallic series paints. We encountered numerous problems with this paint, including running, unevenness in the corners, etc. I wasn't very happy with the outcome, and neither was the crew that did the work. Given the outcome of the other two rooms, this was not a workmanship quality issue. Clear this series of pain has some issues being rolled or sprayed. In the end, Final Coat did whatever it took to get this isue resolved, including reapplying the base coat and going with a crosshatch faux finish, so we were all happy with the final product. We still have many more rooms and hallways to paint, and I'm sure we'll be using them again for sure. Just nor more Metallic paints. :-)

Excellent! Jason and his crew were very professional ensuring they met our expectations the entire time. The work they did was outstanding and attention to detail was incredible. We are very pleased and will have more work performed by them.

They were very professional:arrived on time or called to explain If delayed.The workers were friendly.They cleaned up after themselves. Their work was excellent; the house looks great! They were not the cheapest but I feel that they were well worth the price.

Ted came out to give us an estimate. He spent quite a bit of time assessing the exterior of our 3 level house. As we walked around the house and up to both levels of decking, Ted described what they would do. He took pictures of areas that needed special attention and included them in the proposal. He noticed and commented on the unique aspects of our house. We felt that he liked our house and would take care to see that the job was done properly. Ted gave us a handwritten proposal before he left and followed up with a written proposal within a few days. We knew from the beginning what were were getting and what it would cost. Jason, the work team leader, was easy to work with. He was very personable, communicated well, attended to details, and managed the crew well. He had good ideas and suggestions and showed pride in the work. The crew did not always arrive at the time they were expected; this wasn't a problem for us since were not on a tight schedule in the mornings, but would have been frustrating if we had been waiting for their arrival before leaving for work. They cleaned up each day and replaced our outdoor furniture and plants upon completion. The crew were all polite, well mannered, and worked hard in the heat. Two days after the work was completed, Jason came back to take care of a few minor details. We are extremely pleased with the job they did.

Final coat did an excellent job. Ted, the owner was very easy to work with, easy to get hold of and very responsive to questions. The guys that did the work were on time, pleasant, and professional. Removing the solid stain from the flooring was no easy task and took quite a bit of labor. They cleaned up the work area everyday. I could not have asked for a better job or group of professionals to work with. I would definitely use them again for any indoor or outdoor painting or wood refinishing job.

Ted came out and gave me a detailed estimate on repainting and repairing the siding and trim on our Farmhouse. Ted was very professional. Communication/Responsiveness was prompt. Price was fair. I received 2 other estimates from 2 other companies and although The final Coat was the highest I believe they would have done the best job of the three. I was very impressed with the Book of customer reviews and pictures of their work. I was also impressed that This company was a professional operation with liability insurance, "above the board" employees with benefits and good company references. I highly recommend considering this company for your job .I did hire another provider for this job. The company I chose to hire was the gentleman that has been doing our remodeling and siding work. He had the time for our job and we were familiar with his work. We have Geese and they are very familiar with and tolerate him.

They were very professional from the very first day they came out for an estimate. They were on time and worked around our schedule because we didn't have our shutters yet when they were originally scheduled to start. They moved our appointment back a few days to accommodate us. Once here, their carpenter came out cut out the rotted pieces of would and went back to his workshop to cut new pieces of wood to replace it. He also put up our shutters, some siding that had fallen off and replaced our mailbox. When he was done, the painters came and got the painting done very quickly. They were very clean and were gone before I got home from work. They did a great job and we are very pleased with how it all looks.

They were very nice and very thorough except that I needed to have it done immediately and they were not available. I mean I had to wait, they were booked. They came in with a thorough estimate and they were very good in that. They were very cordial. In terms of the price I got three estimates one that was cheaper and one that was higher.

They did a good job. They were on time, professional and polite. I would use them again in the future.

Final touch was great to work with from quote to invoice. They worked to fit us into their already tight schedule in order to accommodate us as we had a family gathering coming up. Their crew was very friendly, responsive and professional. I would absolutely using them again.

This was the first time I have used them and I would use them again. Everything went pretty good. They were pretty professional. In terms of quality, they made little bit of a mess which they only hurriedly cleaned up. I would work with this company again.

I will admit the exterior of our cedar home in the woods was an embarrassment. We had let it go for far too long without restaining. O.K. ... I'll also admit it had been about 25 years. We got quotes for the work listed above from 3 service providers on Angie's list. It did take 2 calls to the Final Coat where we left messages before we got a call back. Ted from The Final Coat came out to give us an estimate in early June and spent considerable time talking with us about what the work would entail. He also advised that they had a 2-3 month backlog because of all the rain and probably could not start until late August / early Sept. The estimate from the Final Coat was very close to one of the other two estimates we received. However, The Final Coat's written quote was much more detailed than the other two and also included our responsibilities (e.g., trim the vegetation, spray for carpenter bees, remove window and door screens, provide access to water and an electrical source). That detail, coupled with the extensive discussion we had with Ted, gave us a much higher comfort level about what to expect. We also felt there would be fewer surprises. And so we chose The Final Coat. They started work on September 7 and finished on November 2. Team leader Davey was knowledgeable and experienced with Sikkens stain. He was effective in communicating with us and kept us informed of progress and scheduling and who would be here when. The weather was a huge factor. It rained a LOT. When it wasn't raining, they had to wait for our house in the woods to dry enough to apply the stain. When conditions were such that they COULD paint, they were always here. Ted visited occasionally to check on progress. He was also very open to and receptive of feedback and clearly cares about customer satisfaction. There was really only one issue that arose and Ted addressed it with the employees and offered us an unexpected but appreciated goodwill gesture. I would also describe Ted as flexible. Near the end, it did not appear that they could finish the boardwalk because it was SO wet. Ted called and suggested finishing that in the spring. I asked him to give it a couple more days because it was drier than it had been all summer and there was no rain in the forecast for the next few days. He agreed to wait and in the end, they were able to apply the stain after which it did not rain for about 10 days (that in itself was amazing!) - enough for the boardwalk stain to dry. I very much appreciated Ted's flexibility and willingness to wait a couple more days before calling it quits for the year. Bottom line: They are professional, detail-oriented, customer focused and easy to work with. We are very happy with the high quality work that was performed. There was effective communication throughout and a little give and take. I think the only surprise was a bird nest Davey found in one of the woodpecker holes! :-) For the first time in 26 years our gutters are not totally clogged with pine needles, thanks to our new gutter guards. And I am no longer embarrassed by the exterior of our home. We will call The Final Coat for any future needs and would recommend them without hesitation.

Professional and responsive, but too pricey.

The concrete painting and fixing of window frames looks great. The house overall looks great. The deck painting looks good, too, although for the price of $900, I think the railings should have been done. I had to call the company to come back out and resecure the back railing as I thought it wasn't attached sturdily to the deck, one window needed recaulked on a lower section and small area and this makes the window frame not look as polished as the other windows, and the concrete in the mandoor across the top had a small amount that had flaked/chipped out/off. On the sidewalk before the mandoor, there was a black mark and it appeared that something had raked across the immediate area outside the mandoor on the sidewalk, making fresh marks in a sidewalk that is weathered. The company came back and fixed these issues, except the scratch marks, which I'm sure will weather along with the sidewalk and probably won't see it over time. I needed a professional painting company to handle an unusual job (i.e., concrete block trimmed house with old peeling paint) and this company did the painting well. In a new development, in looking at the mandoor towards the bottom, I now notice what I believe to be small bits of rust showing back through the metal door. Didn't expect that.

Everyone we worked with was very professional, friendly, and accomodating. Ted, the owner, came out to our home in the late fall of 2010 and then again in the spring to discuss the work we needed done and to provide an estimate. He was very professional and friendly, a pleasure to work with. Jennifer, the color consultant, was very helpful in discussing color options, and she obtained additonal samples when we did not at first see a color we liked. The job started in late July since it took us a while to figure out and confirm the different colors (main color, trim, and deck color). Jason was in charge of the job itself and spent hours with his crew on the hottest days of summer scraping and painting. One side of our home required extensive scraping and then needed additional coats of the paint/stain. We had a decorative beam of wood with more rot than at first thought, so some additional work was needed here, too. The Final Coat contracted with a carpenter to replace the deck rails and two smaller pieces of wood siding. His work was good, but not always seemless--I can easily see the replacement siding pieces, although it might not be noticeable at first glance or if you are not looking for it. We had a newer product used on our deck (Deck Restore) to fill wood cracks and prolong the life of the deck boards. It was a bit chllanging to work with, but Jason and crew worked to figure it out and redo areas as needed, including after an unexpected rain. He also did extra power washing under the deck after the rain and chose to replace several outdoor flood lights with money from his own pocket since a couple were apparently broken in the process of washing (or painting). Ted checked in during and after the job to make sure we were completely satisfied and offered to come back to touch up anything we were not 100% satisfied with. Overall, the experience was great and we would definitely recommend The Final Coat to others!!

They were a little too pricey. They were way too expensive. They seemed very professional. They were fine but I didn't use them. They showed up when they said they would.

When Ted first came out to discuss the work I wanted to have done, he was very professional and helpful. He answered all of my questions and provided options and recommendations for exterior wood trim repairs. Very shortly after meeting, Ted (and Carla) provided an estimate based on our discussion (including options that we discussed). They were both very responsive to any questions I had regarding the estimate, options and scheduling. Like Ted, his crew was punctual, professional and courteous. When they arrived, they reviewed the planned work to ensure we were all on the same page. As they were working, they were careful about keeping the work area as clean as possible. After the work was complete, I had questions about a couple items. Again, they were very responsive and my concerns were quickly addressed. It was a pleasure working with Ted and his team. They did a terrific job.

This is the second time I have used Final Coat and I am totally satisfied. Jolie is the crew chief I request. I will be using them again in the fall.

The Final Coat Inc I was really impressed with him. He was prompt, and even called me at work to ask me questions. And to tell me well some things I may not need to do right now. He wasn't trying to talk up the estimate. Very reliable, even called to say when he was on his way. I haven't used him yet , but I am going to.

The price could have been a little less. There was no dislikes about this provider and everything was good.
