The Final Coat

We were so impressed with the talent and professionalism we experienced with The Final Coat. From the chocolate paintbrush during our free estimate to the transformation of our home, we were blown away. Nathan and his crew were punctual, trustworthy, and true professionals- even getting down from their ladders to shake our hands. We completely trusted them with our home, which they took great care of. This experience has been so amazing- I only wish they added "general contractors" to their title so we may have the same flawless experience with other household jobs. Will certainly use again and again.

It was a little bit of a rough start. All I can say is that the owner of the company without a doubt cares and wants you to be happy. He made a personal visit after it was completed and saw the areas that weren't completed to satisfaction. He made arrangements to make things right. It was nice to make a call, get a call from the owner, have him show up and not defend or argue, but use common sense and make it right. All and all it was a good experience. His woman in the office is great as well to deal with and super nice.

I was satisfied with the work. They were a little late due to traffic/weather a couple of times. They started off doing awesome work. Then there were a few problems with sloppy work. I complained and they immediately sent a different painter to correct the problem. He corrected the problem and did a few other small jobs for free to compensate me for my trouble. I would recommend this company. They clearly strive for customer satisfaction.

The owner, Ted, takes personal interest in possible and actual projects. He met with us in May to gather information for an estimate.Ted has an engineering background and drew upon this in making suggestions to meet our needs. His carpenter, Phil, came out to assess that aspect and also made suggestions to either improve quality of repairs or keep costs reasonable. Ted prepared an estimate package which we accepted. The rainy summer pushed actual work on the house to September. Extensive carpentry work was done on exterior: created outside access to attic space, repaired major water damage to deck supports, rotted window sill, and number of siding boards. Company carpenter, Phil, did excellent work. If need more than cursory carpentry, though, I suggest using independent carpenter to reduce costs. Washing was done carefully with minimal damage to plantings and no damage to brick and stone. The staining/painting crew, Nathan & Mike, worked very well together and also did excellent work. Very professional. Nathan let me know when arriving or delayed, checked with me on the color assignments (we had a three-color scheme), brought possible problems and questions to my attention, and took me on a final inspection when work completed. We were all quite proud of the finished product.

We actually got them to paint our mother-in-law’s garage in Ohio and we never saw the finished product. They did the work. We went to Ohio and got the estimates from them, and we asked them to go ahead and do the work, but we never saw what it ended up looking like. We hear from the neighbors that it looked fine. So it’s really hard for us to know the quality of their work and we do not know about their punctuality as well. We would consider using them again in the future and will also recommend them to the others.

Everything was done very well, personnel were friendly and polite. All was cleaned up very well when job was finished.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very fine. There were additional charges but I didn't feel like I got ripped off because the scope of what I needed to do in the outdoor garage was more than they could do in the time allotted. After they finished the work with the big deal, I hired them to finish up something else. When the gentleman was trying to figure out what to do with the badly peeling garage interior, he had some ideas and I felt pretty confident in what he was saying. He also checked with someone else with even more experience than he had. I liked the fact that he took the time to check with someone else to get other ideas. He wanted me to be happy so he checked with somebody else.

The company owner spent a long time and did a thorough job measuring things and talking about options. The owner was not a painter himself and would not have been the one doing the work; he seemed more interested in being a businessman than anything. Which might be great for some people, but we felt it was a weird vibe. However, the biggest sticking issue is that he wasn't willing to offer wallpaper removal in one room and instead wanted us to cover it up with beadboard. This drove the cost of the job up to $5000, whereas the three other painters we got quotes from were all willing to do the wallpaper removal and quoted us <$2500. Obviously we went with a different company.

I called the Final Coat on July 7th, made contact on the 8th and the Owner came out to look at the job for bid on the 12th. He had a very professional brochure and spoke in depth about how he would complete the job - a great pitch. He said he would get a bid to me within a few days. A week later he called and left a voice mail that hes was trying to finish the bid before he went on vacation, but was also working on vacation if he didn't get it done before he left. Another 2 weeks later he called and left a message that hehad not yet done the bid, but was going to try to work it in over the next few weeks. It is now August 27th ( 6-1/2 weeks later) and no bid was sent. I am quite certain that the bid will never come as this man's committments to me have not been kept. The job was not large or complicated. The other 2 bids were submitted within 3 days of looking at the job. I have awarded the job to another company and I am only writing this story to help other angie's list members from delaying their projects waiting for this Company.

They were really good and solved my problem. They are an excellent company. I recommend them without any hesitation.

I did not like the quality of the paint. They did try to rectify that. The carpentry work was good but they are a bit pricey. He did a very good job.

Price was higher but was sold on customer service and details even replaced two boards

The customer service and follow up was very poor.

I don't know if this is the best company in the business today or they're just horribly understaffed. when I called for an estimate they were prepared to make an appointment 1 1/2 weeks out however their office manager ( when I asked) said they were booked into the end of September. I'm writing this review on July 11, 2013. What did they think was going to happen if I waited a week and a half just for the estimate only to be told that their booked out until almost November? this may be a great company but I'm going to keep looking, simply don't have time to work around their schedule. if you call this company first question you should ask is how far you booked out to... Solicited advice :)

They fit us in somewhat last minute. They arrived on time...were communicative...did professional, careful work. Helped with things outside the original discussed issues as they came up. You got the sense they loved what they do, took pride in their work, and would do the very best possible work whether someone was looking or not. Very professional. Would use again in a heartbeat.

The Final Coat Inc. did a fantastic job there. The gentleman that did the work was very detailed. He listened to my wife. He was actually able to soften the paint tone so it didn't stand out so much. They were very customer-oriented. I would certainly recommend and use them again.

It actually went very well. The person that they sent out not only did a very nice job on the work itself but they were polite and accomodating and flexible. I would definitely recommend them, it was a very good experience. We do have another project for them lined up, they will be coming back to do some additional work. She did a great job. She brought information from the company to tell us about their other services. She completed exactly what we asked for in less time than they quoted us, it was an hour cheaper than what we thought and it still looked great.

The free estimate had no-strings-attached, plus we were advised on a grade that would meet our needs rather than being coerced into buying a higher grade. It was a pleasure doing business with Ted! The installation was performed as scheduled: in a timely fashion and by courteous and conscientious workers who were prompt, tidy, and efficient. From the estimate with Ted, through to the installation of our gutter-guards, my husband and I are thrilled with the end-product.

The quote was just too expensive, so I did not use them. They had good remarks on Angie's List reviews. They did provide a professional quotation. They were responsive, professional and punctual. They were the highest price.

Despite the heat they had to work in, Matt and Jolene from the Final Coat, were thorough and professional in their work. My trim was cleaned before the actual paint work was started; they put two coats of paint on everything. This was a very pleasant and successful experience...we have now hired them to do similar work on my son's home.

Had a great experience overall, starting with my first call to their office (someone actually answered the phone!) Then, the scheduler communicated with me via email to setup the appointment in a reasonable time frame that worked well for both of us. They sent one worker who was very polite and professional. Job was completed perfectly, on time, and in a very clean manner. Would definitely hire again! It took me a long time to find a reputable painter/powerwashing company in Northeast Ohio, but I am so glad I FINALLY did!

I called the company at the last minute; they came out the same day to give me an estimate on the job. I had a tight timeline and they were able to accomodate my request. The guys did a great job, other than using my kitchen sink to prep/clean. I should have told them not to use the sink to prevent this from happening. I would recommend the company to others without reservation.

They are excellent too, first class. I can't think anything bad about them. They were wonderful in everywhere. They were very attentive, they were extremely professional, courteous and very high quality work.

They were professional and painted my house as if if was their own. They were very good.

Everything was fine but I was just getting estimates to see that everybody was in the same ballpark. We used another company instead that was recommended to us. The Final Coat came out and really looked at things closely. They came out quickly although the person that was coming out was running behind but called to let me know.
