The Final Coat

The paint job overall is great! The walls look like there never was wall paper on them. The house is older and did not realize how many dents and little holes were covered over by the wall paper. They worked and reworked the walls until they looked even. Given the amount of old wallpaper that had to be removed, the crew kept things very clean and neat. They cleaned up at the end of every day, washed down the foyer floor and swept the carpets. All the painters were pleasant and professional. Nathan, the crew leader was awesome. He listened to my suggestions and what I preferred. Even washed the windows before he left at the end of the job! The crew started each day by describing to me what they planned on doing that day. At the end of the day they reviewed the job with me. The owner of the company even dropped by to check on the work and to make sure I was happy with the job. I definitely will use the Final Coat again and highly recommend them.

We have had the exterior of our home painted before by other contractors, but The Final Coat was by far the best that we have worked with. Ted Wetzel, the owner, met with us to discuss our painting needs along with suggestions for ceiling and lighting options for our covered patio. He then followed up with a very detailed and thorough proposal. Once the job started, the crew was very professional and took great care to do the job right. We have an older home with wood siding. They took extra time to scrape off the old paint so there would be a good base for the primer and new paint. They kept us informed with daily progress reports on what work had been done and what the next steps would be. In addition to the painting, they installed a vinyl ceiling and lighting on our back patio. The house looks great and we couldn't be happier with the results. Everyone we dealt with at each stage of this project was very professional and courteous. We would definitely use them again.

I initially contacted Ted Wetzel by email and he responded promptly and within a few days was at the house to evaluate the job. He sent a comprehensive quote quickly thereafter which we accepted and we were put in line for the job and then waited....through the rainiest season in years. When we were next up, we received calls a few weeks in advance and then several times leading up to the point of the specific date. Ted's crew, led by Mike, showed up as promised (with a plate of homemade cookies, I might add) and laid out the work plan and timing. Ted then checked in with us to see if all was satisfactory. Mike and John were great--they showed up promptly each day and at the end of each day left a thorough status report. We had to make a course correction upon not liking one of the colors, and Mike took care of it without any issues. He updated our quote based on some unanticipated scraping that was needed and clearly showed why it was necessary and what it would cost. At the end of the job, they left a color chart and told us they would come back if there were any issues at all. The office crew followed up several times thereafter. I cannot say enough good things about The Final Coat. Absolute professionals, constant customer service, thorough in every respect, no surprises, no messes, constant communications and no need for constant follow-up. They weren't the cheapest option we had, but I'm now convinced they were the best--we got everything we paid for and more. The price to value ratio is high enough to deserve an "A".

The Final Coat painted the ceiling and walls in my great room, hallway, and loft. The vaulted ceiling cracks were repaired and painted. All wall imperfections were repaired before painting as well. They even came back to touch up a wall crack that needed more fill. Their work is near perfect with crisp lines next to the woodwork. They leave your home clean and put back together. Unfortunately a scratch to my wood floor did occur. Workers were so apologetic and honest to bring it to my attention and arranged for repair immediately. Things do happen, and they did take responsibility. It was very impressive. They are my go to painters! I used them this Spring to power wash my patio, sidewalks and driveway and install gutter guards. Excellent results and service!!

The young man who came was very professional and worked h****** our 20-yr-old deck. He was successful in removing approximately 75 percent of the dirt which was good considering the build-up over the years.

I contacted Final Coat for an estimate on painting, wallpaper removal, necessary repairs where needed to complete this job in our LR, DR, hallway and foyer. An appointment was scheduled with Ted for May 27, 2015. Ted was prompt, professional, listened to what I wanted done, gave me a "rough" estimate, discussed time frame for the job to be started and told me I would receive a detailed estimate via email. When I hadn't received the information by July 6, 2015, I called Final Coat. The woman I spoke with didn't have the information but would remind Ted and send it out to me. It is now August 19, 2015, and I still haven't received anything from Final Coat. I'm disappointed that we couldn't get this done. While the cost of the job was high, I would have paid it knowing that from the rave reviews on Angie's List the quality of work justified the cost.

This was a large project. Ted quoted job and scheduled it quickly. Crews started working soon after and were able to complete in a couple weeks. The painters, carpenter and other workers were professional and friendly. They did a nice job inside and out.

The Final Coat takes the word professional to an entirely different and superior level. The other reviews of this company do not lie. From start to finish and no matter who you come into contact with in the company, you can tell that the management at Final Coat have created a company culture that truly values and appreciates their employees. Their customer service is, I believe, unprecedented; no matter who you are dealing with...from the initial scheduling of an estimate appointment to the actual painters onsite. Having never had professional painting done before, I did not know what to expect. When the painters arrived, they were on time, very courteous, introduced themselves, not only to me but my toddler and dog as well. A walk through was done again to double check the work order and what I wanted done, and then a "plan of attack" was discussed. I expressed that I needed at least the living room or family room completed first so that I and my toddler had a place to be during the day. The "plan of attack" was redrawn according to this need with zero hesitation by the foreman. All of their painting materials were always kept in a neat and organized manner. They covered everything with clean drop cloths, and took special care with the carpet (even though I told them it was getting replaced the very next week), and they moved all of my furniture with a gentle hand. They truly respected me, my home, and everything in it. With a large project like mine (almost an entire 1700 sqft home), there are bound to be some issues that arise - you have to expect it. But how those "issues" are handled is the true measure of a professional company. Anything unforeseen that cropped up was dealt with immediately and, again, with extreme superior customer service. Although I was home the entire time the painters were here, I would trust any of Final Coat's employees to be at my house alone...knowing that they would take great care of it...even making sure that the dog didn't get loose. The painters showed up everyday on time and keep you informed of the progress throughout the day and before they leave for the night - cleaning up before they leave and making sure that the "livable rooms" are put back together so as not to displace you too much. There is absolutely no need to get multiple quotes on a professional painter if you're thinking of hiring The Final Coat. From their workmanship to their customer service, you will NOT find a better company than this one. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will certainly hire them again in a heartbeat.

1) Julie arrived at the appointed time, listened to my issues, measured and took photos of the crawl spaces. 2) Julie emailed a complete estimate, including copies of the photos she had taken, with details of exactly what her team would/would not be responsible for. 3) Once we set up the agreed upon dates, a painter called the day before to make sure I would be ready for him. He arrived promptly the next morning and worked non-stop prepping the walls. 4) After a couple of weeks (agreed upon time), a second painter came back for two consecutive days and painted the walls. Both painters were pleasant, tidy and left the space exactly as it had been (though with nicer walls!)

Mike did a great job. He called about 1/2 hour before arrival and once here, kept me updated on his progress. I purchased "The Big Deal" for $25, which covered $50 of pressure washing. I was extremely satisfied and would use The Final Coat again without hesitation. I was extremely satisfied with the work.

The owner originally came down from Akron to New Philadelphia (two hours total on the road) to assess the work I needed done. What I originally called them for was a very large indoor pool room, all wood and needed completely stained, windows and all. My description of the size of the job does not do it justice. The room is larger than most hotel pools and needed extensive work. It has 25' ceilings and is 76'x34' in size, a lot of window and doors also. He spent a lot of time with me to figure out the absolute best route to take to get the job done without wasting money. He basically acted as the general contractor to the room. I cannot overstate how professional and knowledgeable he really is, in not just the painting field but many others as well that helped me out. He had a lot of contacts outside of the painting field he got me in touch with and in the end was responsible for me being able to ge the job done within my budget. This is the first time I have ever come on Angie's List to right a review, even though I have had plenty of good and bad experiences with service. However, the Final Coat was such a significant help to me on so many levels, I owed it to them to take the time out of my busy schedule to let other people know, if they need any type of painting done, small to extremely big, call them first. They are extremely honest, fast, courteous, clean up the after the job. Again, cannot say enough good things...

They were on time and courteous. Any issue was quickly resolved.

We think the price was $25 a door for a side the last time. It was reasonable because they had to scrub them down and 2.47 them. It was a lot of work. It was good. They spent the whole day here and they got everything done on schedule. They called an extra guy because they hadn’t anticipated the scope of the work. So they had another guy come out and they finished it all during the time they said they were going to. We have no complaints. The price was good. We thought it was a little high at first, but they were prompt and we never had an issue with anything that they did. The guys were all real polite and real clean. They did really well as far as when we spoke to them and when they said they’d come out. We plan to use them again in the future. They did a good job and so we didn’t see any reason to get an estimate from somebody else.

They did a great job. We had some kids in our neighborhood that were egging our house. They did it about 4 times. One time they did it, it was way up high and I couldn't reach it. They came and power washed the egg off the house.

Great attention to detail, what I wanted and they kept on track and budget. Super communication and supervision of the crew. I would use them if they were in Austin in a heartbeat!

Excellent and detailed estimate. Showed up on time and walked me through the process. There was a potential exterior mold issue that could alter the quality of the final product. Sales person brought an expert out for a consult to ensure if the job was done by them that it was of the best quality possible.

Unfortunately, I waited too long and they were booked too far in advance for my deadline. The lady did all she could to accomodate, but to no avail. If I cannot get the work done in the near future, I would try with Final Coat again in the fall when things slow down.

The response to our request for an estimate was prompt and the scope of work was very clearly outlined. Pricing contained a per hour charge for wall preparation as at the point in time that the estimate was done the walls were still covered with wallpaper. We felt this was very fair for both parties. The actual preparation time came in under the estimated time and a change order for a credit was issued. We were completely satisfied with the work done. The painter, Nathan, was punctual, pleasant, professional, and very neat as he went about completing the work. We had Final coat do extensive touch up on a previous job and called them without hesitation when this room re-do was on the table. We hope to move shortly and we will not hesitate to call them again for any painting needs in our next home. I recommend them without hesitation.

Everything went great. Everyone in the company kept consistent contact with me from the initial meeting until the very end. I am so happy with the work they did. My final payment due was actually less than expected. I am beyond pleased with experience and would definitely recommend them to any of my family and friends!

Communication regarding scheduling and also the day of the painting job was excellent. Painting crew arrived very promptly and were very professional doing their work. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the job was finished, and am very happy with the painting work that was done.
