The Final Coat

From the day Ted came out to do the estimate, through Jason's work, and up to the final walk-through, The Final Coat was terrific. Everyone was very responsive, able to work with unexpected problems and job changes, and cheerful to boot! The final result is terrific. This is the first stage in re-painting an older (1940s) home that we just re-purchased. We wanted to test out our color scheme but also locate a painter who could properly address the challenges of repainting an older home while maintaining its historic character. We were beyond pleased with The Final Coat, and intend to use them for the entire project, which is extensive (and will take time). Although we received cheaper estimates, I think the value we got was excellent - the quality of work, and the continued attention to detail is top-notch, and Ted, Jason and Carla are true professionals and a pleasure to work with.

From the moment the owner made his presentation we knew we were in to something good. He explained how he likes to do business and the values he places foremost and did a walk thru of the home to determine costs. Optional costs were explained and a contract was agreed on with an the understanding we could upgrade costs before and during the job. The start time was agreed upon and on the day the work began much time was spent covering and masking all essential items and moving objects as necessary. This was done in a timely manner and was impressive. The painting was completed as agreed and the home was left immaculate upon their departure. These men worked so hard to please us and never once displayed an attitude when we asked for additional changes.

Great! Estimate provided on first visit from representative. Other estimates took up to 10 days to recieve! Carla is a real asset to company, she worked closely with us to coordinate schedule, personable & helpful! Overall work is top notch. 100% happy with how clean the roof & siding are, and the stain that was applied to our deck. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

The job turned out fine. They always come out on time and they always stick to the job. They do what they say they would do. If there is a problem they would come and fix it with no questions. They painted a ceiling and there was some wallpaper that got torn out with the tape and they came out and patched it and you cannot see where it was. I respect them because they meet those expectations and more. They just follow up. Their price was an average.

Ted Wetzel (owner) came to our house and gave me a thorough estimate. I was very impressed by the company's policies regarding the work to be done and the commitment to making the painting experience a pleasant one. I was also impressed to learn that all drop cloths used in the project were laundered and that the crew would leave my home as clean as it was when they arrived. The painting work took 2 full days and the painting itself was done well. Based on the wonderful reviews of this company, however, it appears that the crew sent to my home was not as fully versed in the company's policies and/or needed further training. We had several issues with our job: first, a portion of the wall in the laundry room under the utility tub was not painted at all resulting in a 3rd trip to our home by the painter. Second, the crew dripped some of the hallway paint onto the area rug in the foyer (they covered it with a drop cloth instead of moving the rug) and these stains are permanent. Third, an area in the foyer appeared to be not sanded well before it was repainted and so this required yet another trip back to our house to fix this area. Fourth, the second day of painting required a fair amount of patching and sanding of a few walls before painting and the worker neglected to clean up the dust before he left. Also, the drop cloths used in my home had a fair number of "dust bunnies" and paint chips in them that were left behind for me to clean up. To his credit, Ted continued to communicate with me throughout this somewhat frustrating process and did everything he could to assure my satisfaction. He was very professional and grateful that I gave him candid feedback of my experience and we were ultimately able to conclude this work in a way that was acceptable to both of us.

Their price was reasonable and we were impressed with them. They were professional and clean with the job. I have no complaints.

They were on time for the job and did a great job. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

We called three different vendors to get a quote for the services previously mentioned. We decided to go with The Final Coat because everyone was courteous and professional from start to finish. The Final Coat impressed us with their professionalism, friendliness and ability to get the job done quickly. We would use them again.

The estimate was given in a timely manner. He was very professional. He was very honest with us and made sure we knew exactly what was going to happen.

workers were punctual, courteous and professional. They completed the items in contract and reviewed progress with us. On bad weather days, the office notified us when the crew would return. It was a great experience. We were very pleased with the work and would hire again.

We were referred to The Final Coat by friends. We heard of their "good-better- best" approach to gutter leaf protection. We met with the owner, Ted, who seem to have done his homework and explained our options. We decided on the good system and the work was done cleanly and at the agreed upon price, without problems. We had the front half of the home done because the back just does not see a lot of leaves. The Final Coat had no problem with just doing half. they even cleaned the gutters.

The owner was the estimater and did a very complete evaluation of the area to be painted including a lead test. The stated goal was to have "no surprises". Because of the freindlyness and throughness of the owner, Final Coat was the selected company despite not being the low bidder. The two workers were very busy while on the job and appeared knowledgeble for the task at hand. The "surprise" came when puttng new paint on the walls. After painting the walls bubbles began forming that lifted the new paint away from the walls. What was determined was the the wall paper glue that was to be removed by the last painting contractor was not completely removed and now causing the new paint to bubble away from the wall. Final Coat and I agreed to an amended contract to include the "surprise" condition based upon the additional number of hours needed to clean the walls in the areas where the paint would not adhere to the walls. Even though the amended extimated number of hours was not sufficient to complete the job, Final Coat stayed on the job until the job was done. Final Coat returned to repaint an area where the primer was showing through the final coat. The owner has followed up with me regarding our complete satisfaction.

A very impressive company. Jason Walker, the crew leader, and his crew were polite, professional, easy to get along with, and fun. They worked long hours, as long as 10-12 hours on some days. They worked tirelessly in high humidity and heat. Their attention to detail was impressive. They always wanted to make sure I was happy with the job done so far, and if not, they made it right. They were able to solve problems quickly when they arose. The company was able to duplicate (at a reasonable price) replacing a special molding around my front entrance that had rotted. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The owner came and evaluated the work, listening carefully to exactly what I wanted to have done. We agreed to have part of the quoted work performed and it was scheduled promptly. The painter arrived punctually, was neat, pleasant, and professional. The work she did was excellent and she was very helpful in terms of trying to match existing paint which is a difficult thing to do. I was very pleased by the results.

This is the second time we have worked with Final Coat. They are very good at what they do! On day of painting, the company's morning meeting ran late. I called the office an hour after the scheduled start time. The office said that the meeting had run late, and the painters would be there shortly. Painters called a few minutes later to notify me that they were on their way. Painters were fantastic. They were very patient with me when the dining room color was much darker than the color swatch. They helped to find a shade that seemed much lighter on the swatch, but looked beautiful on the walls. They also work with me to decide what kind of faux finish I wanted in my foyer. They were very professional! Will have them back!!! On a side note, I had mentioned that my computer had gotten a virus that morning, and I was going to have to find a company to fix it. One of the painters said he had computer experience, and offered to to try to fix it during his lunch break. I let him take a look, and he fixed it within a few minutes!!! Saved me a huge computer repair bill!

Once again Ted Wetzel ( President of the Company) came to our home, looked everything over, gave us a price & once again we enjoyed his visit very much. We even received a "winter discount" which was considerable. Hooray! Carla, the office manager, contacted us a few days later - we set the date - and "Joe" arrived on time on the scheduled day. He did a great job - finished completely in two days. We tried but couldn't find anything to complain about (small joke there). Joe was efficient, kept us informed, stayed on task, was friendly & helpful. The contract, invoices etc. were more than adequate - understandable! We would urge that if anyone is looking for a completely reliable, reasonable, dependable & thorough company, The Final Coat is your company. Believe us, we don't "gush" over everyone we employ. But The Final Coat is worth our writing this report. Congratulations to them for their terrific work ethic from the President on down.

I could not be happier with my experience with The Final Coat, Inc. Jolie,my crew leader, was WONDERFUL! Always on time, worked hard, very precise work. Clean lines,cafeful touch ups, superior work. Davey did a super job even when the stripping was not going well. Very positive attitude, nice clean cut kid and a cafeful worker. A wonderful team. There were no "hidden" surprises and they went above and beyond my expectations. I already have plans to have them back in the Spring to paint the exterior of my home.

As my ratings indicate, The Final Coat is a top-notch company. The work was done as specified and in the time frame agreed upon. The owner went above and beyond in the time he spent explaining the work to be done. The company's office manager has kept in touch, updating me on the progress. She is one of the most professional and pleasant people I have ever dealt with, a valuable asset to the business.

The owner arrived on the scheduled date to give us an estimate of our job. He was able to give an estimate while on site. The crew members that came to paint were personable, professional, and efficient. When they first arrived, they took time to make sure they understood what all needed to be done in the house. They answered questions and were knowledgable. They worked to finish the job in a short period. We are pleased with the quality work that was done, and will certainly use them again when more painting is needed.

Chuck Lee, a very experienced painter and crew foreman, along with David his assistant worked weather permitting for 2 weeks to provide our family the most impressive job we have ever experienced. After the original power washing job, the home looked good, but after the painting, the home looked excellent. The paint, Pittsburg Professional Paint, is the very best that you can purchase for use on aluminum siding. We had a minor "OOPS" that was strictly weather wind related, and Chuck and David worked with owner, Ted Wetzel, to immediately fix the problem, and my wife and I were very happy with the service. Would I use these guys again? You bet. I have nothing but good things to say about the company. From the moment you call Carla in the office, to the time the crew leaves your property, they have your interests in mind, not their own.

The job turned out better than expected. Sharp, crisp lines, wonderful contrasts, and total perfection. This crew, Chuck Lee and David, worked until 10:00 pm to complete the job, and they started at 9 in the morning! Communication throughout the entire job was excellent, and the gentlemen cleaned up every little sign of work that they were there.

The president of Final Coat came out a few times to give an estimate and then adjust the estimate, after working with the color consultant. We had planned for the work to be done in July. When the weather report called for rain the next few days, Final Coat asked if they could come out the next day (in June). The painters did ask a lot of questions during the whole project (in person or called my cell) to make sure everything was done to my preference, especially with the colorwashing. When I called about a some touch ups that were needed, they sent the head painter within 48 hours. The rooms are beautiful! I would reccomend the color consultant that the Final Coat offers. We had our colors picked out, but decided to try the consultant. She suggested different shades, etc, which we are very happy with.

They are a little more expensive but they are worth it.

Chuck arrived on schedule, removed the two nests, powerwashed the two sides of the house, cleaned up and left
