They were prompt when they came out to look at it. My experience was positive. They called and said they will somebody out for the next day or something. I have no problems with them.

+ -1 moreDespite owning a home for 30+ years, I'd never had a complete roof tear-off and replacement. I wish I'd asked more questions up front so I knew what to expect. The most important thing was that my roof was replaced with good materials in a timely fashion and that my insurance company paid for it. For that, Craftsman came through admirably. It was painless with insurance, the roof looks good, and no trouble so far. A+ The actual experience with the workers...not nearly as good. Plan on these events during work days: Pieces of roof in your trees that fall to the ground each time the wind blows. Pieces of material packaging hiding in every tree and bush. Cigarette butts everywhere. Jagged edge trim. Small plants near your house foundation will be trampled to death. Pictures on your walls will be knocked off. Roof materials will come through your roof vents into the attic. Bird feeders will be knocked down and broken. Maybe all these are normal. I just didn't know they would happen. Again, the bottom line is Craftsman did the job well and minimized cost. Just ask more questions up front than I did and know what to expect.

+ -1 moreWe were very pleased with the sales process and the team of Craftsmen's Amish roofers. The young men were very professional, polite and left the grounds free of all removed shingles and miscellaneous materials. After removing the original roof, three new skylights were installed and the new dimensional shingles roof. Several weeks later a second crew came and installed the new gutter system. Both crews were efficient and worked steadily til the job was complete, cleaned up the area and left. Andrew was on-site and made several runs to pick up items that were needed to keep the crew on schedule. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for roofing or repair. And if you are in the Columbus area, I hope you get the pleasure of working with Andrew and the fine Amish crews.
Description of Work: Our sales professional stopped by and asked to take a look at our roof for possible wind and hail damage. My husband agreed as we had several other companies out who checked and just gave us a price, no interest in contacting the insurance adjuster. (I can say I was a bit skeptical at first and pulled my I-pad out and immediately pulled up Angie's List and BBB to see if Craftsmen was rated. I felt better knowing that we were talking with a reputable company after reading some of the reviews) After taking pictures of the obvious wind and hail damage, the insurance adjuster was called and he came out the following day. The claim was approved and we proceeded with choosing the roofing materials with the help of Andrew C. Andrew stopped by numerous times during and after the contract was signed, on the days of installation of the roof and gutters and was kind enough to stop by again and paint a hard to access eave on the peak of the roof. He has all the qualities of a exemplary employee. Honest, reliable and has the potential for a supervisory or management role.

+ -1 moreMy experience with them was fine. They did everything they said. Everything they said that would happen happened, and there are no negatives. It has not rained yet so I cannot tell how good the roof is going to hold up. That is something a person cannot tell right away. There are some things you know right away. It is either done right or not. This situation is going to take time to evaluate the quality of the work. They got the roof put in within three days after contacting me. They also took care of all the insurance company. They negotiated everything. They are a good company, and the insurance company approved them nationwide. So, you know they are okay when insurance companies are supporting them. They used sub-contractors who were also fine. Both of them are good. Everything went smoothly.

+ -1 moreI was actually a little disappointed in them. The granite was nice, but there was a subcontractor who did that. So the countertops turned out good. The rest of the remodel was fine. We like it. They were supposed to come back one final visit to do some touch-up on some little stuff while they were putting in the cupboards, and he never showed for the last visit. That is why we were a little disappointed. We called, but they never returned the call. It went fine, nothing outstanding, nothing special. We got several estimates and he was the highest of the three, but he came with good recommendations, so I feel like maybe we paid too much. He was pretty professional. I'm not sure if I will use them again.

+ -1 moreThe insurance company agreed to replace half my roof due to wind damage. I have to contact this company and then wait and wait for a response on the status of my claim and repairs to the roof. The contractor says that the whole roof needs to be replaced while the insurance company tells me they disagree and will not pay for the entir roof. I ask the contractor what the status if. now that was a month ago. I got the status then but have not heard anything since. I would think that a roofing job to this magnitude would dictated that contractor would keep the customer informed of what was happening with my claim every step of the way. I should not have to wait a month for information and then have to make an inquiry (yet to be unanswered) to find out the status of my claim.
Description of Work: I had a leaky roof. I got on Angies list and called this company. They sent a representative out quickly to look at my roof. They explained what was wrong with my roof and told me that they would put in a claim with my insurance company but had me sign a form that assured them that I would have this company due to work once the insurance company agreed to make repairs.

I didn't know them actually, so I kind of just blew them off but they did come back and they seemed like they were reasonable people. They weren't in the area that's why I didn't know who they were and we did end up working together on in. They contracted with the siding company and with a roofer. They did utilized two different people. They were and I had no problems with any of their people. To me, the price seemed kind of high. I think that I may actually just call them for an estimate for windows. They were very nice people and I think that's what got me more than anything else. I think, they were good people and these people all seem legitimate upfront.

They didn't cost me any money but they haven't done anything. When you need a roof repair done, not doing anything is not the kind of timeline you are hoping for. They offer to go ahead and represent you to your insurance company to file a claim for getting your roof repaired.

Provider met with a claims adjuster from my insurance company and determined that there was some wind damage, but the shingles in question were not visible from the street and did not qualify for a roof replacement, therefore, the insurance company would not cover the cost for a new roof.
Description of Work: Provider showed up at my home without an appointment asking if he could look at my roof on the referral of another person in the neighborhood to see if there was recent wind damage. The provider asked many questions about my insurance provider and said I may be eligible for a roof replacement due to wind damage and that my type of shingles are no longer manufactured.

Craftsmen did an excellent job. I'm happy with the result. The score on responsiveness was based on trying to communicate with the rep after the job was completed. When I communicated with the main office all was fine.
Description of Work: Jerod met with insurance adjustor/toured roof and siding/ got partial settlement after i insisted on working up the chain of adjustors for the insurance co. Craftsmen/Amish roofers replaced roofing/tore down all previous roofing, replaced some wood; used excellent grade of roofing; prepared roof properly; used roofing nails, not staples; installed new attic fan; came back for adjustments to fan setting and small adjustment to a very tiny roof section that is primarily decorative.

Description of Work: Took off two layers of shingles and replaced the wood underneath. They finished the work in one day, and made sure the area around the house were clear of all debris. They were respectful and professional. The repaired the ceiling where water had leaked through and repainted it. After the repair was made, I could not tell where the leak had been,

+ 5 moreIt has been excellent. We had 4 different contractors come out. We really like the people that we are dealing with. I wanted formica put behind the counter and sink. They are very helpful. They don't pressure us to buy higher and higher. They conduct business and give us what we want. They are not pushy and they stuck to the business at hand. We would recommend them to anyone. Our kitchen is 34 years old.
Description of Work: We signed the contract papers last night with Craftsmen Restoration & Remodeling to remodel our kitchen. They are going to start making the cabinets now. They are going to gut the whole kitchen and remove a half wall. They are going to move the sink over to the window and move the stove to where the sink was. It will look like a built in china cabinet even though it won't be a china cabinet. Everything will be brand new, right down to the floor. They showed up early.

Description of Work: Craftsmen Restoration and Remodeling did put on a new roof in the fall and they also repaired some sidings over our garage door a couple of weeks back. The wood underneath the siding was all rotten we did not realize it and when the man started to place the framer on the door it started crumbling in his hands. So it was lucky that he came. That was an unexpected job and we thought that he did exactly what was necessary no more and no less.

Description of Work: We met with Jarod. Craftsmen helped us with our roof two years ago. We were so happy with them that when it was time to remodel our bathroom we called them up. The process of getting master tub replaced was great. They replaced our whole tub area with a brand new tub and new walls and fixtures and plumbing. I would highly recommend them.

He set the appointment with them, brought them to the house, walked the roof with the adjuster and helped get my claim approved. I did nothing! Once the repair was setup, the roofers arrived as scheduled and finished in less time than what they originally said. They cleaned up after themselves and left my lawn and bushes better than when they arrived. Great group and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend them!

I signed a contract saying they would work with me and my insurance company on the damage to my home. I then set up an appointment with the insurance company and Jarod to go over the damage..Two days later my insurance rep showed up right on time and Jarod was a no-show. I called him and he said "Oh, I forgot..was that today?".. I find this totally un-professional...A few weeks later my insurance company sent me my check and a letter with their findings on my damage, I called Jarod and he said to email him the letter and he would contact the insurance company. That was 3 weeks ago! I haven't heard a word from Craftsmen Restoration since

+ 3 moreWorking with the folks at Craftsman Restoration came as a pleasant surprise to me and my wife. We never had a referral from my neighbors because they had only just started on the street, when we observed the sign on one of the tree lawns. However, by the time they were finished on our street I believe they completed some sort of work on probably 60 percent of the homes in some form. When we contracted with Craftsman Restoration they did not give me an estimate at all. What they gave me was a contract that stated they take 100 percent of the insurance adjusters estimate since they use the same exactaware which was confirmed by my agent minus the deductible. Craftsman Restoration is a one stop shop for quality work, having different crews specializing in there own fields of expertise. They are insured and give copies of valid certificates. All the crews that came to my house were pleasant to us, kept us up to date as to what was going to happen and all cleaned up every day before leaving. No work goes without glitches as this did also, but one phone call to Wannis Allen or any of the office staff usually got a quick response and things were rectified. Speaking for myself, I would use Craftsman Restoration again and would not hesitate to refer them (as I did) to others.
Description of Work: Do to heavy wind and hail, we wound up with water damage to the interior of our home in 2011. There were numerous homes on my street that had damage as well and a couple of them had signs for Craftsman Restoration. So I asked the representative to come over and inspect mine. His name was Wannis Allen, who I can't give enough kudos too. After coming down from my roof he walked me through the claims process telling me that I had damage to my roof and damage to my siding and gutters. After contacting my Ins. Co. and obtaining a claim number, Mr. Allen took over with the adjuster, working hand in hand to make the process a smooth transition for me the home owner. The work began in July 2011 when a great roofing crew (Rabbers Team) came with 12 men, They worked hard, and everyone new what the other was doing. It took a couple of days to complete the work on my roof, and they only took off what ever portion of the roof that could be completed in one day so if it rained my roof was always covered. They used ice and water shield, to protect the edges and valleys. ridge vents were installed and they upgraded me to a 30 year Certainteed Landmark Shingle. We held off any further work until the spring of 2012 when the interior contractors came in and repaired all the damage to my family room, kitchen, laundry room and garage. removing and replacing dry wall, insulation, scraping ceilings and then retaping mudding and painting where necessary. Another great experience with qualified people. Took approx. 4 days to complete with 2 to 3 people each day. In the summer of 2012 the aluminum siding was replaced. A crew of 4 came in and again only removed what they could replace in a day. They took off the siding and then put up a barrier and replaced new siding. This process took about 4 days due to my house being an unconventional colonial with numerous peaks made it difficult for them to complete, Last but not least another crew came out removing and replacing gutters and downspouts which took 1 day.
