I live out of state and rent out the home I used to live in. They came out and installed a new furnace blower motor. The good news, is they were very responsive. When my renters called me on a cold january day saying the furnace wasn't working, I immediately jumped on Angie's List to make some calls. They answered quickly and were able to get someone out to the house by 6pm. There was no additional charge to come at that time versus 8a-5p.
Description of Work: Installed a new furnace blower motor. I think the price is a little higher than others but was impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism. They had someone out by 6pm when i called at 3pm on a cold january day.

Great meeting with salesman. He sold us on the quality of equipment and installation and follow up service experience. Installation went as well as they said it would, They were very professional during the two days they were in our home and they cleaned up the worksite when they were done. The only thing they left behind was a new working furnace and a/c.

My furnace starting failing intermittently in March 2014 during our prolonged Ohio winter. Jennings sent a technician out. He determined first and foremost that it was safe, though I knew it was time to replace the 20-year old unit. They sent a sales rep out the next day who had spent over a dozen years as a technician. He did a thorough evaluation of the space, the house, the registers, intakes and returns. He then reviewed all the options regarding low/high efficiency, a wide range of costs, and the installation issues in my house. I was familiar with the price point of the high efficiency Amana and he offered what I considered a very fair price. I ordered one on the spot. He came back to the house later with several portable heaters just in case. Next day the unit did fail and they came in handy. Better yet they rearranged some work and came out that Saturday and installed my furnace at no additional cost. The technicians were friendly and very professional, and went above and beyond in redoing some flashing around the air conditioner unit. Everything was cleaned up and they gave me a thorough explanation of the new unit and thermostat. Overall very pleased with the customer service, price, installation and follow up.

Had two fireplaces installed. One appeared to be possibly damaged and Tim sent it back rather than install it. Although it took a long time for the replacement parts to arrive from factory, the communications and services provided by office staff, Amanda, and installation rep, Tim, were excellent. Tim is the ultimate professional and not only met, but exceeded my expectations.

Sitting here pretty distraught and irritated! We purchased a $40 thermostat and called a technician out to have this installed. I could have done this myself but the wiring from the old thermostat wasn't labeled so the technician had to trace the wiring. The sales rep quoted us a price on the phone of $100 for the first hour and $25 every half hour thereafter. Well, after two hours at my house trying to figure out the wiring, (Mind you it was only 4 wires coming out of the wall) the heating finally came on and Chris (the technician) quoted us a price of $250!! If you do the math a 2 hr job would cost $150. $250 to have a thermostat installed is pretty outrageous in my book. I can have an entire home security system installed in my house for less than that. So $250 plus $40 for the thermostat would cost me $290 bux for a new thermostat! I brought my concern to Chris in which he got on the phone and told his boss that I wasn't going to pay $250 for a thermostat installation. Shortly thereafter he brought the price down to $195. Still a rip off as far as I'm concerned for what should have been a 30 min job! To top things off, after he charged my credit card, he left without giving me a receipt!. Despite all the good reviews, it only takes one incompetent technician to put a bad taste in your mouth. Would NEVER go to this company again! Stay away! UPDATE...Jennings contacted us and the issue was resolved. Great to see a company that cares so much about customer satisfaction. Not too many of them around. Thank you Jennings.

Upon arriving at your home and spending time evaluating the problem, our technician found that several wires had been disconnected at the furnace itself. He corrected the problem and finished the installation of the thermostat you purchased. After reviewing the circumstances of your call with our technician and the service representative that scheduled your call, our Operations Manager decided to refund your entire investment of $185. A check has been sent to your home. Although we do our best to make sure our customers are aware of our rates beforehand, sometimes we may not be clear enough. We apologize for any miscommunication and are glad to see that this refund was satisfactory to you.

Greg was the service person who performed the maintenance on each one. He did a great job, he was very professional. Our air conditioner (heat pump) is also used for heating in the winter with an electric furnace. So for the summer inspection he also had to go to the furnace (in the attic) and for the furnace he also had to go back to the heat pump with was outside. No complaint, he took his time and I was very pleased with the price (considering I had an estimate just for the air conditioner that was more than the combined service I had from Jennings).
Description of Work: The price was a contract price to inspect the air conditioner and furnace. They serviced both air conditioner (6/28/2013) and the furnace (10/11/2013), a maintenance check on both of them before the start of summer and start or winter.

Ben, the service technician, arrived promptly and worked efficiently. He explained his maintenance procedures and clearly explained problems he discovered. He provided us with options for repair. He completed the necessary repairs and answered all of our questions. In addition, he left the workspace clean and tidy. We were very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. We would definitely use this company again.

When my whole-house air conditioning system died, I called my regular service company, which I'd used for 20 years. They sent a salesman out who offered one brand. I felt a little pressured and wanted other alternatives. I called Jennings for a second opinion. I liked their professionalism. The salesman described the different units available and I was able to select the one that met my requirements (cost, environmental considerations, and energy savings). There was no high pressure sales pitch. The work was completed within one day. The technician was courteous and knowledgeable. He reviewed the system with me before leaving and took the old unit, wires, etc., with him when he left. I will use Jennings as my new service provider.
Description of Work: My whole-house air condition system died after 16 years. Jennings sent a technician out to confirm the problem and gave me prices for several replacement systems. I selected the one I wanted and they did the replacement promptly.

The appointment started off on a bad note, where the technician didn't arrive until close to 9 a.m. When I set up the appointment over the phone, I was told that he would be here at 7:30. I was disappointed with the technician's attitude and the comments he made about the location of our units (It isn't my fault that one unit is in the attic and the other is on the roof - Besides, I think this should be quite common in the HVAC business. Also, he was unable to do the duct repair work (which I mentioned in the service request as the primary reason for the appointment. He explained that I would have to call back in the future and ask for an estimate. I don't understand why he wasn't able to provide the estimate himself, given that he was in the attic and surveyed the issue while he was here. Even if he couldn't do it at the time of the appointment, I would assume that he could have arranged for a Jennings rep to call me in order to get the estimate taken care of. UPDATE 7/17 Two days ago, I received a call from the general manager, Mike, who had read my review. He apologized for the experience we had on the first go around and wanted to resolved the issue. He offered to have a tech come to the house the very next morning and fix the duct issue free of charge in addition to extending our service plan for another year. Todd arrived promptly at 7:30 and was very courteous and professional. He repaired the duct and insulation in the attic. I am grateful to Mike and companies who still believe in customer service and who take their reputations seriously. I appreciate their sincere effort in rectifying the situation in a prompt, efficient manner. They certainly have earned back my business.

Jennings serviced our furnace, in a house we had only recently moved into. Their sticker was on the unit, so we figured they'd be a good choice, and I was generally pleased. The tech showed me all the parts that were replaced (because of course he found some that needed attention). He found the issues one at a time, and each upped the price bit by bit. I don't regret that we paid for the service, as I"m sure it will lengthen the furnace's life, but I would have preferred knowing more of what I was in for at the start.

If you contract to do electrical work with Jennings, ask for Tim the electrician. Tim was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He is up to date on codes and he goes the extra mile for detail. He does small things that other electricians would overlook such as taping the electrical boxes. I would not hesitate to use Jennings again and again because of Tim's expertise and the additional following reasons: 1. The estimate was fair. Change orders were explained and covered before incurred. Additional work was allowed as we proceeded with the understanding of a change order. Under Jennings estimate, I received much more value than any of the other estimates and in the end was able to have four overhead lights and additional switches installed that were not covered in the other estimates at the same price. 2. You receive value for your dollar but not at the expense of expertise. Tim is adept at his trade and is going to school for even more certifications. It is nice to have someone dedicated to their profession and shows a real passion for what they do. He was on time and stayed late if necessary to complete that day's work. Tim consulted when necessary with the office for guidance but this was rare and only was for change orders. 3. Jennings and Tim in particular were very accomodating to me for change orders. It has to be one of the most difficult aspects of a job to have the homeowner changing their mind. All change orders gave me credit for original estimates. 4. I am older and Tim was easy to talk to about the job. He is professional and I never heard any cursing or foul language, not that it doesn't happen but it was nice to have a contractor who was both knowledgeable and a class act. Jennings was a recommendation from a friend and I would recommend the company without reservation to any homeowner seeking electrical work. I do not take this lightly since I am very particular and it takes a lot to earn an A+ in my book. Jennings did.
Description of Work: Jennings provided new outlets, new overhead light sockets, and rewired a good portion of an existing addition to my home. Ancillary work included fixing a door bell and installing two new security lights.

They had one of their sales reps come out later the same day, and I contracted for a new furnace. They were able to schedule the installation in the next slot available. The installers completed the job quickly and efficiently, and were neat an professional in all respects. The new unit is a huge upgrade. I would highly recommend the company!
Description of Work: Had Jennings come out to look at an old, malfunctioning furnace. They diagnosed the problem, and given the age of the unit suggested that it might be time for a new furnace, although they were willing to repair the old one. There was no pressure, just options, which I appreciated.

They arrived as scheduled and found a bad capacitor which they replaced. Service was very good and they did try to save me some money but I still felt the price of the part was a lttle high. I did sign up for a maintenance contract and will use them again.

I was upset that I found out, today, that I was charged $80 for a Jennings representative to tell me that my furnace could not be fixed below the amount of a new one. Also, the amount required for replacement was way above my budget. If it weren't for Angie's List I would not have found a quality company to install at 40% below what Jennings told me for a comparable furnace. Jennings refunded the $80!!!! They understood my frustration and apologized that there was miscommunication. I will definitely use them in the future!!!!!!
Description of Work: I called Jennings because they serviced a furnace on one of my homes. I was informed that I needed a new furnace on the recent visit. The quote given to me was about $3000. I told them that I did not have that much to pay. I was not informed that I would be charged $80 for a service call. The representative found out what the problem was and that was it. I was disappointed.

When making the appointment to have our furnace inspected and cleaned, the girl was very friendly and helpful. On the day of appt I was called and told that the tech was on his way to my home and I was given his name. Andy arrived. He was friendly and explained what he would be doing. There was no mess. He checked our thermostat and changed the batteries.. he was considerate of our home. We discussed air duct cleaning. He gave me information regarding it. I will definitely recommend and use Jennings Heating & Cooling again.

Where do I start?hmm! Well, there was a negative review written for Jennings Heating and it was all due to a miscommunication between our contractor, Jennings Heating and us. Since we have straightened everything out, they have gone above and beyond for our project (28 by 12 sunroom). Here are the details. Pete, who is the guy that comes to your project site, takes a look at the project and then tells you the estimated cost, was very professional. Listened to what we ?thought? we needed and then advised us of something that we never thought of, that was better than we could ever have thought of. Once we agreed to hire them, we were introduced to Tim. Tim was very polite, knowledgeable and very meticulous about his work. We needed to add 3 supplies, 1 return and two enlarge some of our duct work from 14 and 12 inches to 16 inches and to run 35 feet of gas line for a vented gas heater. They were also going to install the gas heater for us. But with Pete?s recommendation, instead of enlarging some of the duct work, they were going to make one just for the sun room. Everything fit into place. There was one issue about using flexible supplies work instead of the standard ridged supplies. The owner of the company came out and went over everything with us. Put our minds at ease and I must say, I was not sure about the flexible supplies, but they do work! Last but not least, Tim installed our vented stove. It looks beautiful. We had it on during the first snow fall. It was just like we were at a resort! I cannot thank Jennings Heating enough for the GREAT work and service that they provide. I would recommend them to all of you reading this. Even though we did not start off on the right foot with them, they worked with us to make us happy and to show us that there is nothing that they would not do to give GREAT Customer Service and provide a quality product. 5 STARS Jennings Heating!! I am having some other projects done and Carol from their office has already got the ball rolling on them. :)

I was thrilled when I was told that appointments start at 7:30 because I would not have to miss any work. On the day the work was to be done, someone called before 7:30 and told me the technician was on his way. When he was not here at 7:45, I called the company. I was told that when she said 7:30, she meant the technician would start out at that time, and this one was coming from a city other than mine. I told her that she didn't explain that when she told me 7:30. She apologized, was very professional, and asked what she could do. Unfortunately, nothing. It's very hot, and I need the a/c fixed. I also need to go to work, and it's now 8:22 and no one has showed up. It's now 8:40, and no one has showed up. Again, I called the company, and the same woman answered the phone. As always, she was very polite and professional, but no one ever showed up or called again. I told her I did not want to reschedule and scheduled with another company.

We are very sorry for any confusion you had with our service scheduling. Our dispatch team is trained to explain our service times when setting up appointments. They are setup as "time windows". Are first call start between 7:30 and 8:30 am. We call our customers when we know the technician is on the way to their home. We apologize for any inconvenience this has casued you. The salesperson met with me and returned with one suggestion. After we reviewed his suggestion, which was costly, we both thought an alternative, less expensive, plan might work. He left saying he would review it with the company engineers and get back to me the following week. Since it was over the holidays, I didnt think to much of it when I didnt hear back from him. I waited till after the new year and called him and left a message with no response. I called back again, leaving a message saying I was disappointed in the lack of response and still heard nothing back.
Description of Work: I was working with Jennings to try to resolve a problem with humidity at my home. I have used them for other services, satisfactorily, including installing my furnace about 8 yrs ago.

It is not our policy to delay in giving our customers estimates for any work requested. We do apologize if we did not supply you with a quote for the work you requested. In most cases, estimates are given at the time we are out to your home. In some cases, further information is needed to quote a job. When that happens, our sales team is instructed to obtain that information and supply the customer with a quote within 48 hours. Again, we apoligize and hope you will one day give us the chance to earn back your business and your trust.

See above. Not much else to say. Great Serivce.
Description of Work: Called Jennings out because I work up with no heat. They arrived within 2 hrs of my call and service tech was professional and courtious. Turns out my furnace only needed service call. Signed up for a maintnance plan which was a failry priced compared to what I have paid in the past. Tech also took the time to answer my general questions about the heating and cooling of my house which were unrelated to this service call. Would definately recommend.

From the sales person to installers everything was very good. I asked the installers not to come until 9am each morning, and even though they usually started at 8am, they complied with my request.

There was nothing wrong with them. I would have used them, it was just a matter of timing. I definitely will look to use them in the future when I need my water heater to be replaced.
Description of Work: They came and gave us a good quote. It was for them to come out and install a bathroom vent.
