Jeff the Plumber is not my usual plumber but I may have to change to use them based on this experience. This company was hired by my contractor to complete the plumbing for the kitchen renovation. The kitchen was down to the studs so Ernie, with Jeff the Plumber, has come in and re-plumbed everything. There have been delays due to the contractor but Ernie and Jeff the Plumber have been awesome to rearrange their work schedule to accommodate the ever-changing needs of this project. One of the guys stopped by one day when I was outside just to check on the progress of the job. I thought that was very nice and good customer service. Really nice and competent people.
Description of Work: Jeff the Plumber was chosen by the contractor who is completing the first floor/kitchen/bathroom renovation. Installed gas line for cooktop; reinstalled reverse osmosis; installed 2 faucets and garbage disposal.

Called about a price for a toilet replacement and made an appointment for 7/19/13. Jim came as promised and replaced the toilet and wax ring in about an hour. On 7/26/13 we noticed a very small puddle of water behind the new toilet and left a late night e-mail about it because we didn't see it as an emergency. The next morning Jim called and said he was on his way over to look at it. After a thorough examination Jim determined that the builder installed screw were pulling out. This was not the cause of the leak, which was just a loose bolt on the tank, but it could be serious later on, The flange was replaced with the proper screws this time and all is well. I have some very near future plumbing work to be done when we remodel our kitchen and will call Jeff the Plumber and ask to have Jim come back when we're ready.

They were just phenomenal! It's the little things that make these companies great, such as putting the protective coverings over their shoes. They were very prompt and punctual, they explained to me what they were doing, and the estimate was hassle free.

He arrived on time, said he needed some extra parts and left for over one hour. When the job was done he almost charged me for the hour he was gone to get the parts that he didn't have. Just under one year one of the spikets started leaking. I was busy and didn't call till after one year, they said they would not come out for free to fix the proplem. I think $400 for 2 spikets for one lasting only one year is ridiculous. I'll never use this service again.

The price was reasonable (but was split over two visits). The most frustrating was I had to wait 4 days for them to fit me in the schedule. My water heating was not lighting and when they did get to me (which was on a Saturday and I did not have to pay weekend rates), they determined I needed to order a part. So...I waited over a week to have the heater fixed, but that was not their fault. When the part was delivered, they were there the next day to install it. Overall a decent experience, except the 4 day wait for the initial visit.

They did the work as promised, and in a timely manner, for $100 less than other estimates. They replaced some leaking drain pipe in our basement, which carried waste water from our upstairs bath. Leak in the old iron pipe had been spotted by the home inspector; they replaced with PVC, and did a great job of cleaning up and explaining everything they did along the way. I was really pleased, and will call them again.

I am a real estate investor and this is the first time I have worked with Jeff the Plumber. They did an extensive pleumbing job on a house I am renovating and did an excellent job. They showed up when they said they would, did what they said they would do for a reasonable price and were professional throughout the entire process. I would use them again and am currently getting a bid or another project. UPDATE-We contacted the company to replace the plumbing at an investment property we had purchased. We paid a $600.00 deposit for replacement of old plumbing and for plumbing to a new bathroom we had added to the house. We agreed to install the toilet, tub and sink fixtures. The job progressed and appeared to be complete. We paid the balance of $1800.00 for the project. At that time we had purchased another investment property in Canton (the second bid mentioned above) and had this company do the work on it as well. That job was complete but after completion we noticed that a number of things weren't done properly like pipes not glued together, funny runs of pipe that would collect water, etc. We contacted the company and were informed that the man who had worked on both jobs was no longer with the company. We mentioned what was wrong and they sent someone out to fix the issues. We also asked about the Blake property and mentioned that we were having drainage issues. We found out that the original worker had left balloons in the pipes for air testing preventing the water from draining properly. We also noticed that a section of pipe to one of the bathrooms was missing. They sent someone out to finish that work and remove the balloons. Later we were informed by one of our other contractors that there was a hole in the roof. We found out that the original worker had moved the plumbing stack but not covered up the hole. In addition, the new stack pipe had flashing sitting on it but was not sealed. At the time we also discovered we needed a new water heater. I called the company and mentioned the hole in the roof and asked if they could fix that and put in a new water heater and get the inspector out for a final plumbing inspection (I thought this was included in the original price and the reason the first worker left the balloons in the pipes). We agreed to a price of $650.00 for the water heater. They sent someone out who replaced the water heater but did not do anything to the roof. When I called I was told that they don't do roofs and planned to do nothing about it. I understand that they are not a roofing company but I would have at least expected to be told about the issue so I could have taken care of it (which I finally had to do). I received a bill later for $1155.00 (which I paid). We have since discovered another issue with the plumbing. I called about the issue and the bill but have heard nothing back and it's been nearly a month. I can no longer recommend these folks to anyone because of the issues and lack of response.
Description of Work: They replaced a lot of old plumbing including the stack and added an additional bathroom plumbing for an upstairs bath in a rehab job. I have another contractor doing the finish work like adding the sink, toilets and fixtures.

We had a portable dishwasher which Jeff The Plumber Inc hooked permanently in to the water line so we didn't have to keep taking it to the kitchen sink. The thing that I didn't like was that they had to come out several times and every time it was somebody different. So I'm not sure who did what job. They were nice enough people but there were too many people working on the same project and not understanding what was going on. I'm not thrilled, to be honest. As far as billing goes, I still owed them money after way over a month because they didn't submit it the first time - they just wouldn't send me a bill! I'm still having problems with some of the plumbing that they did. At first it was ok, but as time went on, where they hooked up the dishwasher it is not working quite right, it is not draining right. The bathroom's not draining right, and they tore up floor and everything else to get it and it's still not draining right. So I will not use them again. I won't even call them out to fix what is wrong. I'm not clear on how much plumbing costs. As far as quality is concerned, some of their stuff is working fine, some of it isn't. It is only recently that my Mom has told me about these problems because she didn't complain. She doesn't use her bathroom sink any more because it drains too slow.

Called in to set an appointment. Got two differing cost quotes for basic service call. It was kind of weird. When Adrian arrived, promptly and professionally, he completed all aspects of the job. Great guy. Unfortunately, they did not honor their listed Angieand quot;List promised (see description in the box) about asking for the magnet. In person, i received the feedback that you only get that when you already have a magnet, then the NEXT visit you'll get the $10.00 discount. I showed the Angies List description to the plumber. He very professionally called his office/dispatcher who then said something totally different. She said, and quot;oh, that discount is already built in to our prices.and quot; Now, I know I did not mention the Angies List when I booked the service call, so how was it built into the price? Geez. If you are not going to honor your description, take it out of your listing. Left a bad taste. If you're not going to honor YOUR WORD, don't blame it on the listing. Change the listing. I really don't feel great about the quality of the communications. Adrian was great. Just I have questions and misgivings about the company and their communications.

Overall we were delighted with Scott and the service he performed in a house dead of winter, and freezing temperatures. He worked quickly and efficiently fixing the leak by mid-afternoon. The service provided by Jeff the Plumber and Scott were professional and we will use their service again, along with recommending to friends in the area. We now know why they received A ratings and the green Angie's ribbon!
Description of Work: The problem was a gas leak in a very old home. The gas company had to shut off gas and advised us to call a plumber to find the source of the gas leak and to have it repaired before they could turn the gas back on. I am Angie's list member and decided to see who had an A rating and green ribbon rating. Jeff the Plumber has both ratings dating over several years. I call Jeff the Plumber service as soon as they opened and described our urgent need for a plumber (today)! The scheduler indicated they could not promise a plumber for the same day, however they could send the next available plumber. Within 1 hour I received a call indicating the plumber was on the way (did I mention it's the wintertime in northeast OH). Scott arrived, asked about our dilemma and then got to work looking for the source of the leak. He explained the process is complicated and could be long, since he had to investigate all of the pipes. As he went along, he provided advise on old valves that should be updated to newer more efficient valves and pipes that should be capped due to non-use.

Called to have someone come out and quote me. Took a couple of visits and apologies for running late (due to other plumbing emergencies) before they decided what the price range to do the job would be. Since part of the cast iron plumbing ran between a brick wall and a furnace it complicated the situation. Once I agreed to the work they fit me into their schedule the next week since I was selling the house. This was sooner than the 2 weeks they had previously mentioned to have someone more specialized come out. They dispatched Jeremy, who also had HVAC experience. The work took all of the morning/early afternoon to do. Jeremy was friendly, cleaned up after himself, and overall did a great job. He also called his supervisor to let him know that not nearly as much work was required to get to the plumbing behind the furnace which ended saving me a few hundred dollars from the original quote.

Ron showed up on time and quickly analyzed the problem. We then discussed our options and decided the best way to make the repair. He made the repairs in a short amount of time, cleaned up after the work was completed and put everything back the way it was when he arrived. Jeff, The Plumber, was prompt and on-time. After accessing and reviewing the problem, he provided me with the cost to repair and how much. I had received 2 previous quotes for the repair and was hoping for something less. I was impressed with his knowledge and had it repaired right away. He came prepared, in other words I did not have to reschedule to have the repair done. He repaired the piece immediately and asked if there was anything else I needed a quote for or service done.

They called in the morning to confirm, the technician (Adrian) also called when he was on the way. Adrian was very professional and friendly, insisted on wearing booties over his shoes, and even passed on using one of my towels because he didn't want to get rusty toilet water on it! Adrian made quick work of a gross toilet clog and even told me some things I did not know (that are very helpful) about the flushing capacity of my new-ish toilet! While we were waiting for my credit card payment to be approved, he also took a look at my kitchen sink and disposal (related to some improvements I want to do in the Spring and will definitely have Jeff the Plumber do) and gave me some useful tips (I just moved in this house so everything is mystery to me). I would definitely use Jeff the Plumber again for emergencies as well as improvement stuff (they do a lot more than I thought they did so I'm very happy to find them!)
Description of Work: I had a toilet clogged completely. I called about 4pm and they sent someone out 10:30am the next morning (awesome, and it wasn't an emergency so the timing was perfect). The tech cleared the clog fast, and the price was as quoted to me on the phone.

Do not use this company. They told us one price over the phone, charged us twice and then a manager was not available to explain the difference or resolve the situation. I called them with two issues: a clogged bathtub and a jammed garbage disposal. They said that they charge hourly: $59/hr + $55 dispatch charge. The plumber spent 45 minutes in the house, if even (In fact, my inlaws say that it was closer to 20 minutes, but the receipt indicated 45 minutes). The plumber took advantage of the fact the only my elderly in-laws were at home and collected $179, which even for 45 minutes was way higher than the price that I got over the phone. When I called the office to ask about the exaggerated charge, the receptionist told me that she'll get back with me after she'll get the plumber's report. She was VERY, VERY rude over the phone. She wouldn't go over the copy with me and wouldn't give me her name. She didn't call back, either. When I called back the next day, she told me that they will send me $39 to bridge the difference. In my calculation, 45 minutes and a dispatch charge would bring me to $100 and $39 can't bridge the difference from $179. I had to travel to the other side of town for them to eventually pay me $69 back - still $10 short of what they really needed to refund me. The manager wouldn't come out to speak with me and the receptionist wouldn't give me her name, still. This company doesn't know what a customer service is and some employees would take advantage of older people. Needless to say - I would not do business with them ever again or recommend them to anyone. Disgrace.

The customer that placed the service call was hard to understand on the phone. She stated she had problems with her tub and disposal not working. She was quoted our plumbing rates of $115 for the first hr which is $ 60 for the hr of labor and $ 55 for the service call. If customers state they have clogged drains then they get different quotes. Upon arrival at the job the customer that placed the call was not there and her daughter was there. Our technician found that there were two clogged drains and charged accordingly, $ 110 to snake the tub and $ 69 to unclog the disposal. Drain cleanings have set prices whether it took 20 or 45 minutes. The daughter signed and paid the invoice. Then proceeded to call our office and harrass our secretary over the pricing. After 3 phone calls to our office and calling our plumbers cell phone, our office decided to reimburse for the second drain cleaning to only charge her the $ 110 which is $ 5 less than she was quoted over the phone in the hopes to receive SOME satisfaction from her. When she arrived at the office to pick up her refund, the manager was not in the building at that time so it was dealt with by our secretary, We at Jeff the Plumber are very upfront, open and honest with our pricing, so much that we are possible to give a quote for almost anything over the phone. We do apologize that you were not satisfied but we did our best with the information that was provided to us and tried to accomodate you. Thank you.

I hated calling anyone on the weekend. Called company and she had a on-duty gentleman, named Tom, from one hours distance from my house. He gave me his time to be here, and he was. He was friendly and a hardworker. It wasn't the best of circumstances and I was embarrassed. I had before hand called my city sewer and water, and he was abrupt and not kindly to me. Told me to call a plumber. My Mother used this service and it was great. He had very heavy equipment that had to be hauled to the basement. He was just kind, and said, it is not big deal, it is my job. Tom was so nice, and the price seemed very fair, and it was after hours, on a Saturday. He was great. I feel confident this is a great company. He also gave me further suggestions for work I may need to continue to fix my overall problem. Thanks Tom.

Was just charged for basic service call, which was a bit more than I expected for the call, but I haven't used plumbers before. One not so good thing: Even though I said clearly that I lived at [address] in Town A (and gave them my zip code), they dispatched the plumber to [address] in Town B. Plumber had to call me when he couldn't find the house, and so it took longer than expected for him to arrive.
Description of Work: On previous day, mold inspector had found water in basement, which he thought was due to plumbing leak. Plumber came to look for leaks but couldn't find any (and there was no new water on the floor). As a courtesy, he also took quick looks at plumbing under the sinks (since we'd just bought the house) and said everything looks good.
