I have used Jeff the Plumber for a few jobs prior to this and never had any issues. For this job, they fixed (so far so good) the issue that I was having, which was a backed up floor drain in the basement. I had a couple questions regarding the billing and the work performed, so I called them and left a message with the woman that answered the phone and she stated that a manager would give me a call. A week passes and I have not received a call so I called them back and the woman that answered the phone said "yes, I see in our notes that you called and note sure why he (the manager) hasn't called you back yet." She said that she would follow-up with the manager. A week or so goes by and still no call. I have a couple more back and forth calls over the next month with the women that answer the phones and still have not received a call from the manager. This proves to me that they know I am right with my questioning on the bill and the services performed but they have opted to ignore me. Overall, I am not happy with how the repair job went.

I hired Jeff thePlumber to fix plumbing issues at my house. The company left a voice mail message instructing me the issues were fixed and I could safely use the plumbing in my house. Unfortunately, the problem was not fixed and now there is water damage everywhere. I would not recommend this company. I have video and voice recordings for anyone who cares to witness the aftermath of Jeff the Plumber’s work.

I was recently reviewing some papers I found at my 80-year old mother's house in Cuyahoga Falls. One of the things I found was a receipt from Jeff the Plumber. The receipt was old - dated 6/29/2014. So this review is far from 'timely' in any sense of the word. However, since it's still the same Jeff the Plumber....while not timely, the review is still meaningful. At least for me. The receipt indicates the technician - Mike P - arrived at my mom's house at 9:10 am on Sunday June 29th 2014. The receipt also indicates that Mike was done and on his way out the door at 9:29 am. So he was there a total of 19 minutes. The description of work reads: "Augured [aka snaked] toilet 6ft. Flushed several times. Seems to be ok." That's it. For that 5 or 6 minutes of actual service he provided, my mother was charged $204.95; $115 for the services call, $85 for the 'Sunday service charge.' I get that plumbers are expensive; and I get that there are established rates and surcharges. But any company that can charge a (then) 76 year old woman (with obvious limited resources, which could easily be deduced from the size/condition of her home) that much money for that little actual work should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Shame on me for not being there to help my mom with the needed repair; I live in Maryland and did not realize she had a backed-up toilet. Frankly, it would have been less expensive for me to drive round trip from Maryland, buy a snake at Lowes and complete the job myself, then it was to hire Jeff the Plumber. If only we'd known. So on behalf of my now-80 year old mother, who still doesn't realize the ridiculousness of the situation, thanks for nothing.

Spoke with personnel at Jeff the Plumber to try to resolve matter. Personnel did not seem interested in assisting me and asked that I wait while she contacted someone else. After about 5 minutes on hold, she said she could not get a hold of anyone and told me the right person would contact me. I have yet to receive a phone call from him.
Description of Work: We had requested service from Jeff the Plumber to replace a bath/shower faucet (with our supplied fixtures) and to fix a gas leak in the fireplace insert. The work was not completed, as the fireplace was not repaired. Furthermore, the plumber broke a pipe when testing the gas line tried to charge us $600 to repair it..

I asked the plumber to clear a slow/stopped toilet drain. The first time they didn't show up at all. Twice (2 service calls on the same unresolved issue), the plumber came by and "cleared it", each time which worked for a period of 3-4 hours, then the same problem would return rendering the toilets unusable. This most recent time, I tried to be kind, and waited, so as not to not call on a holiday weekend and they reciprocated by saying now, its a new charge since they only warrant their work for 24 hours. They also scratched the toilet very bad while trying to clear the slow draining. They were rude on the phone and apparently are not very interested in keeping customers.

After reviewing the records we are unable to see what he means by not showing up twice. The person writing this review is the tenant and our company has a policy to do all communications with the landlords. In the meantime we have contacted this landlord and are on our way to resolving this matter. Thank you.

Well, on the phone I was told that it was 125.00 to snake my drain no matter what. And 35.00 for every half hour to repair the pipe on my water meter. When he got here the man said he had`to go get the part for the water meter, it was 75.00.It took him 30 minutes to put it on.He complained(cussing) about having to take the machine down to the basement to snake the drain, and complained(cussing) bringing it back up.He charged me for his driving to get the part as labor, then charged labor for snaking even though i was told i wasn't charged. When I questioned it I was told, well if its over 1 hour they charge labor.I was never told that on the phone.I feel I was over charged.I had to have them come back out and re snake it again within the warranty and asked for a different plumber.

Response from Jeff The Plumber
We have responded to [Member name removed] in January 2015. We assumed that she was satisfied since we had not heard from her in 4 months. Jeff the Plumber verified all times with the gps on the technicians vehicle and we found no disputes. She stated we quoted her $ 125 for drain cleaning but we do not offer anything for $ 125. All of prices are quoted off a price sheet when the customer calls. She called and said her tub was clogged and leaking and her meter was leaking. Upon arrival her main drain was clogged. To snake a main drain is $ 150.00 and $ 35.00 a half hour to repair the meter. Jeff the Plumber only charges for time to get materials when they are non-stock items. She needed a part for her water meter. Most plumbers do not stock these types of repair parts, other than the City of Canton there are only a few places to get this part. So we do apologize for any mis-communication and if our technician offended her in any way. We discounted her $ 70.00 on 12-26-2014 and $ 150.00 on 1-20-2015. At this time we can not offer a refund. We can offer her a $ 25 credit towards any future repairs. Thank you.

They came out for the appointment and tried to do the pipes. I advised that it was the sewer line and he says it was blocked. I showed him another sewer line, he said he could use that one with no problem. He then asked me to move the treadmill and my husband was not home. I am physically unable to move this myself. He would not help me and told me to reschedule. I asked if he could wait a little while or come back when my husband was back. He finally attempted to help me by tossing a styrofoam box out of my way and that was it. He complained that it was too heavy. The service continues to get worse, but not completed. I recieved terrible customer service from the technician from the office that I called. They kept asking me if the drain was cleared and if his technician did what he was supposed to do. I told them, I had no way of knowing this as the technician had not started any work and had not advised that the drain was cleaned. The guy even hung up on me and the technician began to back out of the driveway slowly. No service had been completed. I did not recieve an invoice or reciept or anything. I still do not know if my drains are cleaned. My husband is going to have to snake our sewer lines on his own. Supposedly, I was speaking with the supervisor and he said they do not move furniture, they only clean drains. I asked what about customer service, and he continued to ask me if the drain was cleaned. I would not know this. We did not turn the water on in my home and run for 10 minutes to check that service was completed properly. I had to advise the supervisor that that is how to check for a completed job, and they still would not help me. I would not recommend this company and their terrible customer service to any one. I wish Angie would take them off her list. The technician was never rude, he just did not care for my situation, but I do consider the supervisor rude and disrespectful. Ryan would not even give the first initial of his last name. Ryan also stated that "we are not in the business for customer care".

We do apologize for you dis-satisfaction in your service. Upon arrival to your home. Our technician stated that there was piles of clothing in the way and a washer being held together by straps. Also a treadmill which are very difficult to move and expensive. Our technicians are not to move items like that due to the liability of damaging them. With that said, due to these items being in the way the technician could not get to the drain to snake it. We also do not take the liberty in moving personal items such as clothing. Ryan stated that we are not in the business of moving furniture, not customer care. However, the technician was able to find another way to get the main drain open and we did not charge you anything for our service due to your dis-satisfaction.There was an invoice written up that we have here in our office and will mail since he did not leave you a copy.

He arrived on time - was professional, put shoe covers on his shoes -which I appreciated . I showed him the place where I saw water coming from a pipe in the basement --the pipe that carries the water away from the kitchen sink. He looks at it, touches it AND sees the bucket I have underneath and says, oh, that's not leaking -it may be coming behind this pipe. I tell him that I heard it hitting the basement floor and came down and saw it coming from that pipe connnection (the elbow). He goes upstairs to the kitchen and points to the wall and says you need to re-caulk - water could be coming from there. So we go upstairs to bathroom sink to look at the possible leak into the kitchen ceiling - he says it's not leaking from there, proceeds downstairs to kitchen where there are water spots on the ceiling and says he will only know for sure if he cuts a hole - I authorize that he do so. He feels the insulation and says it's bone dry ---BUT I know I saw water leaking, in fact my daughter had wiped up the leaking water . He says the water spots are probably from rusted drywall nails (??? but I told you I saw water on the floor?) and I ask is it possible that the water is coming from elsewhere and he says, maybe. Then proceeds to charge me $135 dollars--for not doing anything. At that point, I wanted him out of my house because clearly he was not a problem solver, he did as much as my brother- who is not a plumber could do - NOTHING. Well, in weeks I have another plumber, Monks Plumbing, he came out look at it and diagnose that pipe in the basement was loose and glued it, and then tells me the water in the ceiling is coming from the shower and makes recommendations a temporary fix and only charged me $74. I will NEVER use Jeff the Plumber again - as they sent incompetent people out and charge an astronomical fee for nothing.

We appreciate you feedback. Upon reviewing our paperwork, we do see that our technician removed the ceiling to the bathroom and checked for leaks and did not find any. The only downside was that they didn't keep the video for me to watch so I had to go on trust that they did it. So I give them a B on quality. They need to provide the video to the customer. And it was a little expensive for flushing out the sewer, though it's been a year since with no problems. I hired someone before them for half that and within 6 months had the problem again. So, it looks to be worth the extra $$ to have it done right.

The job done for me by Jeff The Plumber Inc. was a rip-off. He looked at it and told me I had to go buy a new faucet. I said, "I have to go buy it?" and he said yes. So I told him I'd go do it and asked him when he would be back. He told me he'd just wait for me there. I told him I didn't think so. So he said he could probably get one. I told him what I wanted and he went to get it and charged me $381.00 for it. It extends too far over the sink, so every time you use it, you get sprayed. I was not happy with his attitude at all and really feel like I got taken on that. I went to the store to look at other faucets that I liked more and realized he charged us quite a bit for it. It was installed okay and there were no leaks or anything. It was just really expensive and I didn't like his attitude.

In early November I called Jeff the Plumber because I thought I had root buildup in my sewer line. I did not have a back-up, but I heard gurgling in my downstairs bathroom so I knew from previous experience with roots in the line, it would be clogged soon and I wanted to get it cleaned out before Winter, the holidays, etc. They cam out on November 6th or about that time, cleaned it out and charged my $365 or so. The plumber told me he was getting dirt coming out of the sewer meaning I may have a cracked pipe and may need to have it dug up and replaced. I was hoping to last til Spring time before having to do that. On December 10, I had a sewer back up in my downstairs bathroom....meaning it was completely clogged. I immediately thought that Jeff the Plumber must have been right about the cracked pipe, because there was no way roots could grow back that fast. I called Jeff the Plumber to come back out on the 12th-their earliest appointment. I called the city sewer department in my town because they will put a camera in the sewer to see if and where there is a crack or cave in of the pipe. They came and when they put the camera in the sewer they saw a huge bunch of roots that was so thick they couldn't get the camera through to view the length of the sewer line.Jeff the Plumber did come out and recleaned the sewer line. It took several hours. He charged my over $550 and told me I was getting a deal. I would never recommend Jeff the Plumber to anyone because he charged me $550 for a job he should have done one month earlier and had already charged my $365.. If they'd have done the job in the first place I wouldn't have needed them to come back out. And there was no crack in the sewer line, because the city engineers came back and put the camera down and we could see there were no cracks.

Made 2 internet requests for a service call - no response. Ended up calling direct. They said they would send someone out. No one came or called. 4th call someone came out and gave a verbal quote for an hourly rate. Agreed to the rate. They said someone would call to schedule day / time. No one called. Finally I received a call from one of the specialists how asked some questions and said the person who came out would be calling me. no call. I have made 5 additional phone calls requesting the service manager and owner. No response. I can only surmise that Jeff, the Plumber has so much business that they do not need any more business. Suggest you look elsewhere.

They were able to schedule fairly quickly and were flexible with times. They were pleasant and showed me the work as it was being done, helpful in explaining what was being done. The job was completed more quickly and for a lower cost than the estimate, which is always nice. Only possible complaints would be that they were a little more than an hour late (scheduled to come at 8am, showed up a bit after 9am). This wouldn't be a big deal to most people, but I worked until 2am that morning and had to get up early, expecting them to show up at 8am. Imagine my frustration when I could've slept an extra hour! Also, they cleanup left something to be desired. It wasn't horrible, they did clean up, but it wasn't a great job. I would use this company again.
