 + -1 moreDid a temporary fix on the initial visit, but advised that it may not last because of the nature of the problem. He recommended replacing the computer board which would have to be ordered; I decided to go ahead. They really surprised me by calling the next day to say the part was in and put me over the top when they agreed to come out the following day at 6:45 am to accommodate my availability. The technician was exactly on time and finished promptly with in an hour which was just as he had estimated, including installing a new digital thermostat that I had purchased some time ago, but never installed.
Description of Work: AC not working - they came and evaluated the problem. Did a temporary fix and follow up work to replace the problem.

 + 0 moreWe are pleased with their professionalism and customer service. They came back many times to adjust the output for our fireplace system. And of course, we had many questions as we were using the system. Its the type of job that has no manuals for since our home was custom built by the previous owner in the 70s. The A/C took them about 2 weeks to install and they were always ready to fully explain everything they were doing. The young men that came to install were nice and very respectful at all times. I couldnt have ask for a better attitude from someone I hired. When we turn on the A/C for the first time they are ready to come out here and show us all the ins and outs of it. I wish all companies were this easy to work with.
Description of Work: They performed 2 separate functions in our home (Dec07/Jan08). First, they corrected our fireplace system. Our fireplace is hooked up to the boiler (we use hot water heating in our home). We have searched forever to find someone to work on it and no one would touch it. They were always professional and did a superb job. The workers were young men that showed the utmost respect for our property at all times. We had them come back many times for adjustments with no problem. That price was around $4400.00. It was an extensive fix so that we could use our fireplace to heat our home in the winter. The second job we had them do was to install A/C in our tri-level home. They also performed excellent. We do not have ductwork in our home, which made this job a little more costly and difficult with the limited attic space we have. But, they managed to do it. Although we have yet to use the A/C, I feel they are a reputable company with a long history of quality customer service.

Unfortunately, I received the same products from another company & they were a few hundred less expensive. They were my 2nd choice. Would I hire them for a future job? If the company I used ever went out of business, I would definitely use them. They seemed very reputable.

 + -1 moreFantastic! Repairman found there were burned out wires on the way to compressor and replaced them. Tested compressor and declared it to be good shape. Recommended cleaning the coils but since a bad storm was on the way I said I would do it later (and I will). Only 1 day between call and service.

 + -1 moreMike Smight and all the guys at A to Zoff are top-notch. From the moment Mike came out to look at our setup to the finishing touches they looked after us. The price couldnt be beat, especially for the quality of product. The staff was very quick to respond to any questions I had. Everyone at A to Zoff was completely courteous, professional, and know how to please. Never felt pressured to buy, and always felt like they had my best interests at heart.
Description of Work: Replaced old Chrysler Airtemp furnace with new Payne 80% efficiency furnace. Ran new duct into master bedroom. Rebuilt part of ductwork in basement. Installed chimney liner for furnace and water heater. Arranged (and included in price) for new meter housing, new wiring from the meter into the box, new breakers in the electrical panel and new wiring from panel to furnace.

ALL QUESTIONS I HAD WERE ANSWERED WELL AND ANSWERED IN LAYMANS TERMS. THEY CAME OVER TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE ABOUT 2 DAYS AFTER I FIRST CALLED THEM AND STARTED WORK A WEEK AFTER THAT. WORK WAS EXPECTED TO BE DONE WITHIN 3 DAYS AND IT TOOK 2. THE AMOUNT I WAS QUOTED AND I PAID, $4286, WAS LESS THAN I WAS EXPECTING. THE ONLY UNSETTLING THING WAS WE WERE AT FIRST GIVEN A BILL WITH A 10% SURCHARGE AS THEY THOUGHT WE WERE PAYING A DAY LATE. ONCE WE WENT OVER THE SCHEDULE THEY QUICKLY DISCOVERED THEY WERE WRONG AND WE PAID THE ORIGINALLY AGREED-UPON QUOTE. BOTH THE AIR CONDITIONER AND THE FURNACE WORK BEAUTIFULLY AND ARE WHISPER-QUIET.
Description of Work: INSTALLED NEW 92% EFFICIENCY PAYNE (CARRIER) GAS FURNACE AND PAYNE CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONER, MOVED FURNACE LOCATION INTO THE BASEMENT FROM THE FIRST FLOOR, MODIFIED DUCTWORK, GAS LINE, AND WIRING ACCORDINGLY, ADDED CONDENSATE DRAIN AND SIDE FURNACE VENT.

 + -1 moreOUR FURNACE IS INSTALLED IN A CLOSET WHICH MADE THE WORK MORE DIFFICULT THAN MOST INSTALLATIONS. ALL OF THE DUCTWORK IN THE CLOSET HAD TO BE REDONE TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEW FURNACE, AND THE SHEETMETAL WORK WAS TOP NOTCH. WE ALSO HAD TO HAVE A CONDENSATE PUMP INSTALLED FOR OUR NEW CONDENSING FURNACE WHICH REQUIRED RUNNING A NEW DRAIN LINE ABOVE AN EXISTING CEILING. THE COMPANY REMOVED THE EXISTING FLUE THROUGH THE ROOF AND INSTALLED NEW PVC PIPING AND VENT TERMINATION. THE COMPANY DID NOT TRY TO SELL US ITEMS THAT WE DID NOT NEED, ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS, AND RECOMMENDED THE MOST RELIABLE AND ECONOMIC SYSTEM AVAILABLE. OVERALL, I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRICE CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF WORK THAT WAS REQUIRED, AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. WE HAVE HAD THE NEW FURNACE AND A/C FOR TWO WEEKS NOW, AND THE EQUIPMENT WORKS GREAT IN BOTH HEATING AND COOLING MODE.THEFURNACE IS MUCHQUIETER THAN OUR PREVIOUS FURNACE.

 + -1 moreI HAD SET UP A SERVICE CALL TO CHECK MY FURNACE AND CALLED THEM BACK TO LET THEM KNOW I ALSO WANTED THEM TO CHECK A LEAK IN MY HOT WATER HEATER. THEY MOVED UP MY APPOINTMENT BY 2 WEEKS DUE TO THE LEAK. ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT, I GOT A VOICEMAIL TO CALL AND CONFIRM THAT I WAS HOME. ALTHOUGH I TALKED WITH THEM LIVE, THEY DID NOT ARRIVE FOR THE APPOINTMENT. I CALLED THEM THAT NIGHT AND THE PERSON ON-CALL SAID HE WOULD COME BACK THE NEXT EVENING. JOHN ARRIVED ON TIME AND CLEANED AND CHECKED THE FURNACE. HE DESCRIBED EVERYTHING HE WAS DOING AND WHAT CONDITION EVERYTHING WAS IN. HE FOUND THAT THE LEAK WAS FROM MY HUMIDIFIER AND REPLACED THE FILTER. HE WAS KNOWLEDGABLE AND GAVE ME SOME MAINTENANCE TIPS.
