A to Zoff Heating & Air Conditioning

The work was performed in a professional and timely manner. All work that was quoted was performed to my satisfaction. The technicians were courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the company.

I was dreading the news I would probably receive (expensive work, parts, new furnace, etc.) The experience was nothing like that. That's the way to keep your business coming back. Very professional and knowledgeable. Courteous and seemed to enjoy his work and liked being able to help. Reasonably priced and I didn't feel as though I was being ripped off. Would refer to anyone needing this type of work.

They were very thorough. In fact, the first time we called them two years ago, they found a crack in our heat exchange that other heating guys hadn’t found. If they hadn’t found that, we could’ve had a real problem. They put a new furnace in at that time. They’re very professional as well. They’re very good about their work & their price.

The company gave us an estimate after arriving on time for the appt. Their estimate was $1,300 over what another company gave us (note that there was asbestos on some of the original duct work and therefore the increase of price), and because of the greater distance from where their company is located from the house to be worked at, we decided to go with another company.

Extremely satisfied with my choice of A to Zoff. Would recommend them to any of my family or friends without hesitation. My A/C was fairly old and was in need of replacement. I used Angie's List to review various companies and A to Zoff was highly recommended. From the first phone call to see about a quote through to the installation, everything was A+. Highlights of my experience:I had several other companies provide quotes. I initially thought I should get a new furnace along with the A/C because I thought the furnace was older (maybe purchased around 1995). The other companies went along and said yes, you should get a new furnace. When Steve from A to Zoff came to discuss my quote, he was the only one to do some checking and said the furnace was a 2004 model and still had the factory warranty on it. He said it wasn't necessary to replace it, some standard maintenance would be sufficient (this was included in the final price). Along the same lines, I wanted to find out how difficult it would be to move the A/C unit to a new location. The other companies weren't too excited to figure out how to move things around and made it seem like it was probably better to leave things in their current place. Again, Steve reviewed my request and spent about 10 minutes looking at the options and said it would not be a problem. I was unable to be at home for the installation so I had my father at the house to let the crew in to work. He's been in the construction business a good portion of his life and he's very particular about how things are done. When I spoke to him late in the day to see how things went, I was expecting there to be at least one item he would nitpick about the installation. To my suprise, he said this might have been the best work crew he's seen at a job site. They came on time, put down drop clothes, did all the work discussed in the quote, paid close attention to the small details (like patching up old holes in brickwork-Dad said it was a better job than most masons do), and cleaned up after everything was finished. I now have a new A/C in my preferred location, a furnace which is newer than expected and under warranty, and a company I can trust to handle any of my future heating or cooling issues.

We just moved into an older home, and the Air Conditioning was not working. A to Zoff was prompt in setting up an appointment. The service man was quick to find the problem ( a bad fuse), but did an inspection too, just to make sure we were in good running order. The service man, Justin Brown, was beyond nice! He was extremely knowledgable and helpful. I would not hesitate to contact A to Zoff for any Heating or Air Conditioning issues.

A to Zoff had installed our old Carrier furnace (92+ efficiency) and central A/C in the early 90's. We never had any problems until Nov of 2011. Something in the old furnace malfunctioned causing it to severely overheat. We had an "insurance policy" thru Dominion gas for 24 hr emergency service. A competitor of A to Zoff was sent to check our furnace and quickly determined that the overheating had caused cracks in the heat exchanger - we would need a new furnace. They never did determine what had caused the overheating in the first place. That competitor had a salesman at our door within a few hours and provided a quote of over $8500 for a new furnace and A/C unit. We considered replacing the A/C even though we never had any problems with it - after all it was 17 yrs. old. The quote seemed extremely high so we decided to call A to Zoff for a second quote. Our original experience with them in the 90's was very positive so we were comfortable having them give us a quote on a new furnace and A/C unit. Their rep arrived promptly and after reviewing the situation said they could replace the furnace with the latest model Carrier (96+ efficiency) for about $3200. He then reduced that quote by $500 - Carrier's rebate on the old unit because it had a lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger. He noted that our A/C unit still had a few good years and didn't need to be replaced. We contracted with A to Zoff to replace the furnace which they did within a day. The installers were very prompt, professional and neat. As part of the deal, A to Zoff said they would give us a free A/C check-up this spring (2012). Their tech just finished checking out the A/C (May 2012) and said it was "like new" even though it is now almost 18 yrs. old. He was very thorough and explained everything he was checking. We really appreciate the fact that they didn't try to sell us an A/C unit we didn't need. All in all, it was another postitive experience with A to Zoff. Instead of spending $8500+ for a new furnace and A/C, we got a very high quality new furnace and reassurance that our existing A/C unit is still servicable - all for $2700. We highly recommend A to Zoff for their professionalism and honesty.

I don't remember how much I paid, but I recall they were a little pricey compared to other companies. However they previously installed and maintained the furnace, so I wanted to stick with them. I was impressed with their caliber of work. They did a good job inspecting the furnace. I am very pleased.

They were excellent in every way. They were on time, reasonable, and honest. I would definitely use them again.

I was provided a 4-hour window within which the technician would arrive. Dave arrived right in the middle, and called when he was about 15 minutes away, which I appreciate. He did a standard inspection, and answered some questions I had about replacing my A/C, which will need to be done sometime next year. He was friendly and professional. It's hard to judge quality of work on an inspection, but they do list everything they check on the invoice. I will continue to use this company in the future.

I actually had been called away unexpectedly and David tried numerous times to reach me by phone. When I returned, He came and was very understanding about my not being here on time.

I was able to reach a person on the phone and schedule an appointment for a technician to visit our home on the same day. I was then contacted directly by the technician on the road who was ahead of schedule. The technician was patient enough to wait until I was able to meet him at my home- correspondance was very polite, professional, and prompt. The technician was methodical and thorough, and was very good at communicating with me from asking questions, listening to me, and explaining what he was doing. He found the problem quickly, and was able to make the repair with parts he had on hand in his truck. He proceeded to perform a cleaning and inspection of the rest of the system. To be honest, I would have been happy to pay any amount for receiving services and getting the AC running on the same day- but the charges were very fair and reasonable. I will have absolutely no trouble calling A to Zoff again for any kind of service. I am very pleased with the experience.

Well I held off on writing a report right away just in case something went wrong. We had A to Zoff give us an estimate for a new central air unit to replace our already existing dead unit. A to Zoff beat the other three which we collected estimates from. A few weeks later they installed the air conditioner. Two weeks ago my wife complained about the upstairs not cooling as well as it should so I called A to Zoff and they came out the next day to check the coolant level as it may have to be adjusted due to it being colder outside when it was installed in April. The service technician came out and discovered a rag was stuck in the blower which immediately corrected the problem and we were not charged for the service. Definitely would recommend A to Zoff and we have been enjoying the unit ever since especially with this years summer heat

Service technician was friendly and professional. We were concerned that the blower fan would not cycle off. He performed diagnostics and identified the cause of the problem. Once repaired, the problem was corrected.

I think that I originally got their name off Angie's List. I think that their prices are reasonable. They always call ahead and show up when they say they are coming. It took a while to get an appointment this last time and they took two weeks to get out here. It might have been a different story if I had been in an emergency, but it was just a routine and that was okay.

Called for an estimate and an appointment was set up quickly and to suit our schedule. steve came to the house to assess the job requirements. He was very friendly and answered all of our questions thoroughly. He did a detailed assessment of the furnace and duct system. He identified some remedial work that needed to be done because of work not properly done in the original installation of the heating and air conditioning system by another company. He promised a call to us with the estimate for the job that needed to be done. The estimate was called in to us in a timely and friendly manner. The work was scheduled to meet our availability. Chad and Tom arrived promptly on the day scheduled to do the work. Both men were very friendly, talkative and efficient in getting the work done. They ran into an unexpected problem, let us know what they encountered and solved the problem quickly and effectively. They did the post job cleanup quickly and did it well.

I thought they were very professional. Their prices were competitive. The only reason I didn't go with them was that they didn't carry the brand that I wanted.

They have always been very prompt and they have always come right out. I was always happy with them. They were reasonable. They usually sent me out things for my air conditioning and some things out for the furnace. They always had the spring specials and the winter specials too, for getting the furnace ready. I have used them for several years. They originally installed my furnace at that house. I kept going back to them. They would send postcards saying that it?s time for a check up. Then I would just call and schedule a check up. They would just come out and do it. It?s always a good situation for me. I had no reason to change to anybody else because they did a good job. They were reliable. They came when they said they would come. They did the job. They didn?t charge me more than what they said they?d charge me. They called before they came. They return my calls. I would use their services again in the future.

The company who had installed my furnace did not install it right. So, that?s why I went with A to Zoff. They are professional, responsive and punctual. I have been satisfied with their service.

It went very well! I was told I needed a new panel by a different company, and the worker advised me it was not necessary.

I've been using this company to service my furnace and a/c for several years. I think their prices are average, but they're friendly to deal with, and take the time to answer any questions I have. I also like that they check my Space Guard furnace filter, but don't try to sell me a new one every year, only when I need one (they're expensive.)

It went extremely well. In fact while Larry was servicing the furnace, he smelled a whiff of gas. He used soap bubbles and then a gas detector on the suspect piping. Larry dogged the problem until he pinpointed the leak. It was a slightly loose connection. After tightening the connection, further tests indicated no problem. I wish to thank the company for their professionalism and the punctual response on the appointment day. In fact, they called the day before and asked if they could come a 1/2 hour earlier. The work was meticulous and well performed. I am definitely only going to use this company for all my A/C and furnace work.
