 + -1 moreThe guys came on time and packed every single thing from my bed to my toothbrush. It took all of,the morning and most of the afternoon. The next day they once again came on time and in no time at all loaded the truck with the previously packed items and off we went to my new apt. They had labeled each box and were able to put the boxes in the proper rooms making it easier for me to unpack.
Description of Work: Moving as everyone knows is very stressful in addition to being monstrously hard work. I moved from my suburban home to a city apt.

 + -1 moreAbsolutely great each step of the way. The opening return phone call was efficient and pleasant, which put us in a good frame of reference. The call the day before confirming all was in order was unexpected but well received. Last and best of all, the crew performing the move was beyond expectations in terms of being friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient and careful with their work. The quoted 10 hour time including a 100 mile drive was all completed in 8 hours, so the cost was less than expected, everything was put in place without a scratch, just great all around.

They continuously worked during a downpour of rain without any breaks even after I told them to take a break until the rain subsided. They worked very hard to get the job done quickly and safely.

 + -1 moreA 4 person crew arrived as scheduled, well prepared and an organized approach to each of the rooms. In addition to individually wrapping and securing large valuable pieces of furniture, 100+ boxes were carefully loaded into the truck. The unloading of goods into the apartment was methodical and careful. There was no damage to any of part of the house or apartment and only very minor scrapes on the wood floor of 1 room and on 1 wall. Furniture and boxes were fine. The charges were explained pre- and post move so we always understood what was being invoiced. A very smooth move professionally managed.
Description of Work: Moving from a private home to a full service luxury building with strict moving times and required $2 million insurance coverage from the movers.

 + -1 moreMovers were very efficient, friendly and generally well organized. But there were two problems: one was that some of the boxes were mis-marked, so that two went into storage that were supposed to go to my mom's and two went to my mom's that were supposed to go to storage, requiring a trip by me to the storage facility (45 minutes away) to straighten out the mixup. Also, when moving into the second apartment movers left the location with the TV still in the truck. It was wrapped in blankets but they missed it and had to return it the following day. All in all, the problems were fixable. I said I would hire them again, and I would, but maybe not for a move that required as many steps as this one did.
Description of Work: Packing up and moving out of an apartment, moving some items into storage and some (like my clothes) into my mom's for 6 weeks, and then moving out of storage into another apartment.

 + -1 more2 trucks and 8 movers and not a single thing was broken. Robert who was the foreman for my move was awesome. All the movers were professional and courteous. I am still perplexed at how they got my big furniture through small doors without damaging anything. The quote was accurate and fair. My only grip was during the contracting of the job I informed the sales person I had an Angie's list coupon. He told me to present the coupon when the job was completed to receive the discount. After the work was done and the time came to make payment no discount was applied. It was not on the contract so I had to pay the full price and call the office next day to get a refund on the coupon amount. There was no issue with getting the refund. It is a minor grip but there should been better communication on this. I would still hire Men on the Move again for any future moves though. Robert and his team can move me again anytime.

 + 0 moreWe thought the movers were good at first when packing up the house, except for being on their cell phone a lot. But we did not see all that they did until we opened our storage unit. Mattress was torn and a lot of things broken, including the TV. Peter, who was so nice at first is a terrible estimator, and after finding out we had a priblem, wouldn't return our several calls! Denise Byers in management was nasty at first as she told us "there's no guarantee" but then tried to buy us off by signing some papers so we wouldn't write a bad review!

I was very impressed with the service with my move from New York to Massachusetts. The day they picked up my furniture to be packed going they did an excellent job. They took the time to wrap the furniture carefully. And when the furniture arrived everything was in excellent condition. No damage to anything. Overall a great experience. I would highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreMen on the Mover were absolutely wonderful! From the gentleman who came to quote the move, to the team that actually did the move, everyone was very courteous and professional. I was even able to stop by their warehouse prior to the move and pick up boxes and tape at no cost! The guys at the warehouse couldn't be nicer or friendlier. I've heard horror stories about peoples' moving experiences, but luckily all I have to say is how happy I was with mine, I would definitely recommend or use Men on the Move again.

 + -1 moreThe movers were lazy and complained about too many boxes! I'm paying by the hour and they still complained. They brought a 27 foot truck which would have been plenty of space but they didn't pack the truck properly, Two months prior I had the same amount of stuff and was able to fit everything in to a 20 foot U-haul and 1/2 price. Not only did they move less stuff, they even damaged my doorway, apparently there is a $200 deductible that they fail to tell you at the beginning if you purchase the insurance. One of the movers took his shirt off because it was too hot, well I don't want to see a skinny naked smelly black man moving my stuff. They were also very careless with boxes. I would NEVER hire them again.

 + -1 moreIt was definitely a much bigger job than anticipated but the crew worked very hard to complete it in one day. Great attitudes and work ethic. They asked questions when they weren't sure of what were moving and made sure that all of our fragile stuff was carefully protected when packing it on the truck. The only thing we weren't prepared for was the amount of time it took to take apart the gym equipment, especially the universal weight machine. Despite the complexity, a couple of the crew members took it apart and they transported it to our new house. Then they came back a couple of days later and properly reassembled it. Job well done! Our overall experience was great. Great people, hard working and a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: The Men on the Move crew had to move us from a 2 story house with a basement to a single story house with a basement . The crew consisted of 8 guys including a crew leader and they used 2 trucks. The entire job took 14 hours despite a move 2 miles away. They carefully packed everything and protected things like mirrors and marble tops. They worked their butt off while carefully protecting the furniture and the walls. They were very pleasant and appreciative as we bought them lunch and snacks. They moved 5 bedroom sets, a dining room set, living room set, kitchen set, family room furniture, 20+ bins of Christmas Decorations, multiple boxes of clothing and personal items for 5 people, a generator, snow blower, patio furniture, gym equipment including a universal weight machine that needed to be disassembled and reassembled. The only issue we had was the original estimate and time allotment that we were given was inaccurate. The crew chief pointed that out to us right away so we knew ahead of time that it would be a long day. The job took a lot longer then expected resulting in a higher overall cost than anticipated which was initially disappointing but quickly resolved thanks to the manager Ron. Ron was a class act who was more than accommodating and very professional.
