Description of Work: Move 3 bedroom house the guys were great and neat.

Description of Work: All three movers were very efficient and careful with my belongings. I would definitely use them again, and have already recommended them to friends.

Description of Work: Moved apartments on UWS. Did it in less than the allotted time, so it was cheaper than expected. Only issue was tracking down the Certificates of Insurance to give to our buildings - had to call the company a number of times to ensure they were sent over, including day of for one of our buildings, which was frustrating at 8:30 in the morning.

Description of Work: Requested two men to move our LR and DR furniture into a POD located in our driveway in preparation of house renovations. We were told that there was a 3 hour minimum on time and charges were $100/hr for both men. The men worked for two hours flat. Travel was half hour each way, so we concluded that the 3 hr. minimum was met and the cost would be $300. At end of job we were told that the 3 hr. minimum DID NOT apply to travel time and therefore the cost was $400. This was not disclosed when the job was bid/contracted. Beyond that, the men were not very professional in their manner of work. They did not take direction well and disregarded an obvious warning to carry a second identical couch out the front door in the same position as they did the first one. They disregarded and wound up "keying" the front door paint with the leg of the couch as they forced it thru the doorway opposite to the way they took out the first couch. We are currently looking for other people to bring the furniture back into the house as our renovations conclude. Suggestions gladly accepted, but I will NOT and NEVER AGAIN will use Men on the Move and I am happy for them to see this review and know of our dissatisfaction.

Description of Work: The move was great however they negotiated with us to finish within the allotted and quoted time so we would not have to pay any extra money. We discovered a week later that one of the legs of the sofa was broken off. What they did was just sit the sofa on top of it so it did not appear that anything was wrong. We were finding what appeared to be blood on a few walls and could not figure out why until we found this problem. Would have been happier if they had just told us what happened instead of hiding it in such a way.

Description of Work: I had two moves, the first to their storage, and then to my apartment. The move out was excellent. The men were efficient and very pleasant to deal with. The company was very patient when I had to postpone my move from their storage to my apartment on two occasions. However, on the delivery to my apartment, I found several items broken or chipped. Although I had written "Fragile" on several boxes, they were almost thrown down in the apartment. I had to ask them to be careful. One chair top was chipped, several pieces came off my dining room table, 2 glasses that were 35 years old were broken (others weren't, so they were packed OK), the tip of a good serving dish was broken, and when I looked at the box, it was gashed along that side. I did have over 100 boxes, but the men were paid and tipped well. They knocked a picture off the lobby wall; it broke and I have to replace it. And finally, the styrofoam they had used to pack a large clock went all over the apartment, the elevator, the lobby and the sidewalk. It was a mess that took hours to clean up after they left. I'm still finding bits of styrofoam in corners weeks later. The movers were pleasant and respectful throughout both moves.

Description of Work: After Super Storm Sandy, I moved some personal effects into a 10' x 10' storage locker at Treasure Island in Red Hook. I hired Men on the Move to remove these things from the locker and deliver them to my home, unwrap items, put them away, and remove packing materials. The estimate was for $931 for 3 men and a truck, but the fellows who came were able to complete the job in 3 hours, so the actual cost was approx $530 and I gave each what I considered a good tip! (They had made very strong hints that they would be able to better the estimate as long as I took care of them. It couldn't have been more clear.) But the men were courteous, helpful, and efficient. I was glad to have the job done and complete, and under the estimate. The packing (when I used a different mover), seemed to have taken twice as long and been more complicated, perhaps it is the process of packing that is by its nature more difficult. The men also praised the owmer of the company, that he always bought new trucks, was expanding the business. The men in general had been with the company for at least 6 years on average. It made me feel very good to hear this praise for their company and I keep meaning to report back to the owner that he had a good crew that was doing good P/R for him!! I would use this company again.

Description of Work: the move went perfectly thanks to the 3 men supplied to us. They were friendly, conscientious and very professional. Everything was wrapped perfectly and loaded and unloaded exactly where I wanted the boxes to go. Dominique, Harry and Sidney were a pleasure to work with.

Description of Work: Moving crew arrived at 7 AM as promised. Moved everything we asked them to move, both withinour house and to our second house, rapidly, professionally and politely. Drove rapidly to our new house, unloaded, were paid and left. Couldn't imagine a better crew or better service. Movers often charge much more than estiate. In this case, move bill came within 3% of original estimate. Will definitely use them again when we sell our NY house and transfer balance of our possesions to new NJ house. LHH

Description of Work: I moved on New Year's Eve. The guys were great, even through it took a little longer than expected, they did not rush the move. They placed my furniture perfectly (even though I had them move a a dresser in my bedroom several times until I found the right spot. ) I would use them again in a minute.
