Deal was $850 for 250 feet of heat tape installed including outlets (if needed). Appointment was set and they did not show up the first day. On the next appointment day they were three hours late because they got lost (after I had given them explicit instructions on how to get here). They installed the tape in two locations (so I got charged twice) and no outlets were installed. The initial outdoor outlet has no switch, so I need to go outdoors to turn the tape on and off. I know that the wording of the deal is outlet installed if needed, but that extra work is built into the price. I know that they did not violate the legal terms of the deal but I also don't think that the service I got was worth the price that I paid. So I just would not use them again.

To follow up on Prime' s response from Nov 11th--I think you are confusing my job with someone else. I was not told to replace my skylight and you never did service it. The job itself went pretty well. However a year after it was done we noticed that the flashing around the sky light was not done right and was leaking. I called prime to fix and got the run around. Eventually after much persistence on my part a person named Vincent called back. He sounded extremely incapable so we declined to let him back on our roof. I would not use this company again, they don't stand behind their work

It went fine. I received a schematic and an estimate. If I had used a contractor to build the deck this company would have been fine. But I didn't.

It went very well. This is my first time doing this type of renovation. Am a first time homeowner, hence I wasn't aware of the detail and coordination involved, with all involved. It took a long time since I was dealing with the bank and hence I felt like the ring leader scanning, emailing, getting approvals, calling, waiting, inspecting requesting, questioning. We were working with what I call an Old Grand Dame...an old Victorian home that needed TLC-exterior. All in all the experience was very very good. I dealt primarily with the owner and two other members of his team. The three were excellent. They were honest especially when they had to deliver not so good news especially as it pertained to the roof that I wanted to restore to is original beauty. It could not be done due to the rot that existed underneath the covering. Their solution was soothing and it looks beautiful. When I had a questions, they responded to my calls quickly. When I had doubts about a particular issue they clarified and calmed my fears. I was especially please with the fact that the owner responded immediately to my calls or emails no matter what time of the day. VERY prompt. I have heard horror stories with contractors but I have to say my experience with this company was excellent. The pricing was fair. Big Kudos to Mel, Ron and Gino!!! Superb guys with a great sense of humor. Love them!

I will never use Prime Home Construction again, and I would not recommend this company to any one. Prime was selected by the board of directors for the condo complex where I live to install new vinyl siding on all buildings. The company also offered a supposed discount on window and sliding glass door replacement. Since my windows were in bad shape, I decided to replace all my windows and doors as I thought it would be more convenient to have the company working on the siding also replace the windows and doors. They came out to measure the windows and then didn't contact me for 4 weeks. After I made several calls and emails to them, they finally called me back and said they had emailed the estimate, however I never received it. They resent the estimate, and I noticed they tried to invoice me for vinyl "capping" on the windows. But this work was already being done as part if the condo siding project. So Prime essentially tried to overcharge me by $1400. After I pointed it out, they corrected the invoice, resent it, and had me sign some online documents for a 12 month no-interest finance offer from GM. Once again, I heard nothing from Prime for several weeks. I had no idea the status of the financing or if windows had been ordered. I again had to make several phone calls and emails to get someone at Prime to call me back. The were clueless as to the status of my order and surprised I had not received and returned "finance papers". Unfortunately, Prime had provided GM with my last name misspelled, an incorrect birthday, and my incorrect home address, so I never received papers from GM. Once I corrected the problems with financing, Prime informed me the windows were "in" and we scheduled the installation for 10/1 and 10/2. The installers arrived on time and did an acceptable job installing 17 windows and 3 sliding glass doors; however, they did some minor damage to drywall around some windows as they failed to cut old security wires before ripping out the old windows. The installers discovered that 2 windows were the incorrect size and that the final 2 windows would arrive in 2 of 3 days. Prime did not follow up, or contact me. After 1 week, I called prime and was told my last 2 windows would be delivered on 10/21 and installed on 10/22. I made arrangements to be home from work on 10/22, but unfortunately Prime installers did not show up. Nor did Prime call me before 10/22 to inform me the windows were further delayed. I contacted prime when no one showed for the installation appointment, and I was told the windows "might" be delivered on 10/23. They promised to call me on 10/23 to update me as to whether the windows had been delivered. Not surprisingly, I received no call from Prime on 10/23. As of today 10/28, I have left messages for Prime's VP of Operations, but I have not been contacted, and I have no idea when my last 2 windows will be installed. Prime's customer service is horrific. I hired them to replace my windows because I thought it would be more convenient, but the experience has been tremendously inconvenient. They show little respect for their customers. I will never, never hire this company again, and I would caution other people who are considering hiring this company to find a better company. Update: 10/31 - on 10/28, coincidentally right after I posted my review on Angie's list, Prime contacted me. The told me my last 2 windows were in. We made an appointment for 10/31 to have the last 2 windows installed. The installers showed up promptly on 10/31; however only one window of the 2 missing windows was delivered. One window us still missing, so I'll have to take another day off from work when the last window us finally delivered. You can tell from Prime's response to my review that they don't place much value in their customers feedback. Nor do they seem to be able to effectively manage the amount of work they have contracted for. I have not called Prime "every day" as indicated in Prime's response; but I have had to call them many times to get any sort of response. Don't use Prime unless you're prepared for a major headache, and can take unlimited time off from work.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was great. They were on time, they did a great job, and they cleaned up very well.

Good company, gave me a prompt clear quote. Their price was more reasonable than competitors but seemed a bit out of wack with the 10 man hours for the job but I think that's just NY in general. Scheduling was a bit iffy as they were a no show the first day due to a scheduling mixup. Once on site they worked quickly and the repairs looked quite good. My only annoyances with the work quality was a bunch of proud finish nails and that they didn't prime the end of the skirt before installing flush to the house after I had specifically asked them to do so. So in short, good people, did the work as promised, in a efficient and reasonably quality manner.

Got lost, could not find the house. But once he was here, did a good job.

Spoke with a few different people at this company. Started with Ron, who was very friendly and easy to talk to -- He came to check out the basement, and said should be no problem to do the work. He promised me the estimate in a few days, which did not come until I called the office to remind them. After this, I spoke with someone named Gino at the office who did not really know my file, but he said he would try to help. I told him I wanted to go over the estimate and just find out a few things. He assured me someone would call me, which they did not. A few days later, I got a call from Ron again saying he was "in the neighborhood" and would like to stop by with the "foreman". I didn't really understand what this meant, but I said sure. They came in to look at the basement again, and said, "Ok we can start right now, we have the team of painters in the truck outside." I was quite confused, as my wife and I did not even discuss paint colors, or how many rooms we were painting etc...They said, oh, we didn't realize you didn't choose colors. At that point, Mel, the owner came downstairs, didn't say very much, took a quick look at the basement, and then left. There was very little said after this, and then Mel and Ron stood outside my door for a while discussing something. Not another word was said to me about the job, and I did not receive another call or any further information. Can't realistically say if this is a good company based on their work, but after that experience, would never recommend them to anyone.

We have a small leak at the top of our skylight on heavy rains, and I called a few companies for the estimate. Ray from Prime Building Services came to our house, and gave an estimate of $385.00 to reflash the skylight. That was the lowest price. So we chose it based on the fact the company has a decent rating on Angie's list. On the appointment day, Vincent from the company came. He told us the quote was only for skylight reflash, and we'd better caulk the glass for another &75.00. I was able to negotiate $20.00 off the price. In the end he supposedly reflashed the skylight, and caulked the glass with an overall price of $440.00 It is unknown if the fix has been effective since there hasn't been a heavy rain since then. So I can't comment on the quality of the work. However, I do feel that I wasn't given the whole picture of the usual scope and price of the work in the beginning to "trick" me into buying their service. In fact, I checked the proposals from other companies. They charge a similar price for what Prime Building Services had performed. They are not cheap after all.

They were good. I would highly recommend them.

They did a very good job. He saw leaks that the previous roofer have missed. He patched them up and it worked.

Initial estimate was about half the actual job. I was pressed for time, and Ron did my original estimate. He explained later that he generally does the construction estimates and once the estimate was re-done by Mel, it was spot on. There was one day lost due to miscommunication among the sub contractors, they thought they would have to let the floors dry one more day. Other than that, the job was done beautifully, and in the scheme of things, one day isn't too much. The men that worked on our house were all prompt, friendly, and professional. The painting team even stayed until 9 one night to be sure it got done as quickly as possible. I would highly recommend.

They replaced my roof. They failed to protect my brand new driveway with proper wood footings to place a large container full of debris. The consequences were that there were 2 large holes in the driveway. They sent three men to repair it on 2 occasions. However, the holes are still noticeable. They didn't do a proper clean-up of the nails all over my property with (illegible). After Angie's list got involved, Prime did come to reseal the driveway. They did leave large boot prints on my walkway from when their workers walked on the sealant and then walked directly onto the walkway, but the drive does look better than before the damage.

It was wonderful. I've used them a year after I bought the deal. They did honor it and I was grateful for that. I paid just the price that was quoted. I would most definitely refer them. They were very good.

The job was completed in a timely manner. The workers were courteous and clean.

They were good at the beginning. Unfortunately, towards the end of the project, they became more concerned about getting paid than their quality of work. Money appeared to be more important than service. There were noticeable issues with the work, gaps in the siding, and pallet that was left behind. A screen was damaged during the work process and they never repaired it. They also did not put the house numbers on our home. I made numerous attempts to contact them. It took 3 weeks to even respond to an email. Finally after threatening legal action in May, they responded to and completed the unfinished tasks, except the house numbers. I live an hour an a half away from this property, so I am unable to constantly check on the progress. The job was done in December 2012, and I have received no callbacks, follow-up or feedback to know if the house numbers have yet to be put on our home. Communication seems to be a large problem for this company.

So far it has been great. My roof seems to be working. They work very hard and are quick on the job. They cleaned up well and they did a great job. My roof looks great.

There were a lot of problems along the way. He subcontracts out and is not very responsive to phone calls. There were times when people did not show for work and were not very responsive unless there was money pending.

The service was over all a B- I would say. I thought the big deal included fixing any opening where mice could get in, but they did not do that.

We ended up using Prime Home Improvement - Prime Building Services to install a whole new roof. They did a very good job. They were on time and on budget. The quality was good. They're very conscientious. We were pleased with the work.

Looks great. The man who did the actual work was friendly but unobtrusive. He did an excellent job--professional & cleaned up.

The company didn't prepare finishing touches to the roof, which are necessary. The previous, 30 year old copper flashing was reused or removed upon tear down and not replaced. Therefore leaks arose in several areas. WHen the comany was notified the response time was horrible, had to call and call again to get an answer. Very unprofessional. I can't imagine how a company could survive by doing a one hit wonder job on customers...what a mess. Would never, I mean NEVER refer them to anyone.

The work was done quickly and well. The actual workmen were sloppy and left pieces of the old roof scattered around the house. But on the whole the job was done well and on time. They also provided financing which made the job easier to do since it was for a large amount of money.

My first and primary comment is that once Prime's workers were at our home, they do a great job for a reasonable price. The new roof was done in less than 4 days for a fairly big area, and they did an admirable job cleaning up the property (though i still find pieces of the old roof on the lawn from time to time). Roof looks great, appears to work great thus far, and the price was right. On the shutters, we have about 15+ sets of shutters and their team removed them all, sanded and painted them, and put them back up in less than a day, which is great. They also look brand new and now match our roof. Again, i thought the price was reasonable for the effort and manpower to do the job. My second comment however is that you need to stay on Prime to get them to your home to get started, though once they do its relatively painless. In both instances they were a bit later to the job site than i thought they would be. One or two follow up calls though and they were there. Waiting on new window installations as well now. I do like the service and price, and the salesperson is nice, knowledgable, and not pushy, but i wish they would be a bit more proactive setting times and arriving.
