Prime Home Improvement

I contracted Prime through an Angie's List special. He returned my call promptly, sent out someone to inspect the roof, explain what was to be done and gave me a choice of Dow Corning shingles, one of which was Energy Star rated. He also explained any extra charges for timber replacement if any rotted wood was found, and for a second layer of shingles. Everything was up front and clear.The work was done quickly and well and cleaned up so well I couldn't tell anyone had been there. I noticed he is now quoting a higher price for an Angie's List special--it would still be well worth it.

The deal was for 2000 sq. ft of roof. Our roof is 3700 sq. ft., so we thought it would be about double the price. Our estimate came back at $64,000 and change. Ridiculous!! Other companies charged me less than 1/2 - about $30,00 for both jobs.

We hired Prime to screen in our porch. Once we agreed on an estimate and what was going to be done, Prime came to start the job. They finished demolishing the existing porch to put in a screen porch and began to build the doors. We noticed right away that the doors were built too small - 30" instead of the agreed 36" - but were told that was how it had to be. Several workers came to the site but they had not been briefed on what they were doing, so I had to make a drawing for each to explain what needed to be done. Prime then asked us if they could work through the weekend, and could we arrange for someone to paint the porch as well over the weekend. We cancelled our weekend plans and arranged a painter to help, and they never showed up. Worse, when I called to ask where they were, they asked for more money. 3 days later they still had not shown up. So here we were with small children, a dangerous porch and Prime holding us hostage for more money. After seeing the mismanagement of the beginning of the project, we decided to cut our losses, fire Prime and look for someone else to complete the work.

They were terrific and they were very reasonable you would have to add a special on that one. I had called them because I didn’t need the roofing, I only need the siding and they came and they discounted that much. I had gotten estimates from three other people prior to them and would you believe this they were asking for over twice as much as Prime who did it. The other people gave me an estimate of twice of what Prime offered as Prime offered $12000 and the other people were asking 26000$ and 29000$. They were terrific and I’m going to use them for my windows. I think that they were friendly, they came right on time and they got the job done immediately; they didn’t stop until the job was done. The people were very professional and I like them. Everything stood out about them and the boys were very friendly. They followed the work and people who they had working for them they came everyday to look that thins were done just right. Overall I would give them a very good grade as I would do that and I think that everybody else does especially for these people.

I contacted Premium on a Sunday via email so I can have an estimate done to see if I qualified for the $8,888 deal that was offered on Angie?s List. I received an immediate response to set up an appointment for an estimate. I was told that Ron Ciuffetelli would be the person I would meet on Saturday at 9am to do an estimate on my roof. Whelp, 9am came and went but no one was there. I contact the company view email and phone to find out why no one had showed up. I was then informed that they change my person from Ron to Gino and they gave me the number to contact GIno to inquire about my 9am appointment. Long story short he didn't have me on his schedule but he apologized and quickly came to my house to do the estimate once he finished up the job he was working on. He got there around 10am. Before contacting Prime I did my research and even had a half dozen other roofers give me quotes and their "sales pitch" with prices that were way to expensive even though my roof is not that big (I have a ranch home). But, after meeting Gino I enjoyed him and his personality. I felt that the consultation was very natural & wasn't "sales pitchy" (I hate sales pitchy) and that made me feel comfortable. I had enough knowledge from all the other sales people I met with about my roof to know what to listen for, what questions to ask, and to understand that what the company offered was absolutely a great deal! I decided to purchase the deal that Prime had because it was a great deal and Gino's personal approach (not sales pitch) made me feel comfortable and at ease about who I would be hiring. I can't forget how the reviews at Angie's List also help me to make my decision. Thank you!

The workers arrived and went up to the roof, they did their inspection and afterwards gave me an explaination of what they found that needed repairing. so I ask the guy how much it would be to do the repair work. He said he couldn't give me a price because he had to submit the report to the office and that the company would send me a copy detail report of what he found and how much it would cost to do the repair work. so I said ok. During the whole process there was a third person who showed up, I guess he was the general inspector checking up on the workers. Okay they leave my house, and I wait for the report in the mail a week and half pass by and I haven't received anything. So I call the company, Ron receive my call I give him my name and address he said he has no record of my appointment nor of the report. He said give him time to look into it and that he will get back to me. So I wait another week and I call again, I speak with Ron again this time he tells me the other boss is out sick and again that he will get back to me. By now almost a month has past so I call the company very frustated and told them that I was no longer interested in Prime Home Improvemnt company doing the repair for my roof, but could they at least send me the copy of the roof inspection report so that I could hire another company and not waste time in getting the work done on my roof. I never received anything in the mail not even a call from Prime Home Improvement, that was 2 months ago. I have never gone through an experience like this with any company before. Sad to say it but I have to give this company a triple F in integrety.

The guys from Prime Home Improvement were terrific. I called Mel after I purchased the coupon on Angie'sList and he responded immediately. I needed to have the work done in a hurry, and he had the guys in to do the painting the very next day. In one day, they primed and painted 5 rooms, and it looks great.

Gino returned my call within the hour on the 21st. The following day he came & gave an estimate. Work began on 25th of May & finished just 5 days later. Everything went well. Fantastic job! Good price, well done!

They were proficient and good. They did all the work they could in one day. The previous paint was bubbling and there was more damage behind the chimney than we originally thought. They had to re stucco the entire wall but there were a few things that were not done that I was expecting. However, it was fine. Overall, they did a fine job.

I did have to pay additional because the space was larger than what was offered in the deal. They did a very good job. I am satisfied within he work. They even came extra early in the morning and cleaned up everything when they were complete.

We had a lot of confusion of when the work was to be done. They called us the day before the appointment, after we had prepped our home for the work, to explain it would be another week . I called a week later and they told me it would be another week and explained they told me initially two weeks. It was difficult to schedule the appointment but the work was done very well. The two painters were nice. I was pleased with the work.

The service was good. They were prompt and responsive. We were having an open house because we were trying to sell our home and I really appreciated how quickly they were able to come out.

They were great. They worked really hard and put in a fulls day of work.

We purchased this home a few months ago and the inspector said my roof had a few years left. He was wrong. The house was built in 1908, is 2 story with a sun porch and detached 2 car garage. I recently switched insurance companies and during our insurance inspection the inspector demanded the roof be repaired or replaced due to sliding shingles. I had until June 16th to complete the work. With the massive rain this spring shingles started to slide in an area that was previously repaired by the former owner. I began to get leaks in my kitchen and upstairs bathroom. I was hoping I just needed a repair and not a completely new roof. Upon further inspection the roof had 4 layers of shingles and was covered in moss. I got 3 estimates for repair and 3 for replacement. When Gino from Prime came out he was very professional and was the only contractor who got on the roof and inspected everything. He also assured me that he could get the work done within a week. He recommended we replace the roof now because it would have to be done in the next few years anyway. I asked him to send over the estimate for replacing the entire roof and the roof of the 2 car garage and the flat roof above my sun room. The price was 9K cheaper than my highest estimate from another Angie's List contractor and similar to my 3rd estimate but the contractor just seemed untrustworthy. We went with Gino and Prime. We are very satisfied. His team was on time every morning putting in 10 hour days to get the work done as efficiently as possible. We had some rain during the week so they showed up early and stayed late so we would hit the deadline. The roof looks amazing. The workers take pride in their craft and were very respectful of our property and our neighbors. Before I bought the house my garage was damaged by a falling tree where the roof meets the siding approximately 6 feet long. In my conversations with Gino he agreed to repair the garage, but it was not included in the actual wording of the estimate. The garage is very old but sturdy and with a new roof the damage would stick out. After the roofing team put the roof on I complained that they did not fix the area where the damage was done. They told me to talk to Gino. I could not get a hold of Gino on late Saturday and the workers finished up all the roofing. I was very happy with the roof but annoyed the garage was not repaired. When Gino called me to check on everything on Monday I explained that the roof looked great but the garage damage was not addressed. Gino did not argue and agreed that this was part of our agreement and sent out someone the next day. The worker he sent out was so meticulous he went to multiple lumber yards to find the exact matching molding for my garage! The garage is probably 70 years old! The craftsman drove 30 miles to the Bronx where he finally located it. The garage looks great now. My only negatives are that they are sometimes difficult to reach over email or phone, but they did always get back to me with the answer. I am also someone who expects everyone to check their email every 10 minutes and respond immediately so for most people it may be normal. The other negative is that their computer system sends out daily payment reminders before the work is complete. It was probably a glitch in the system. No big deal. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience and would highly recommend Prime. Their estimate was very competitive and their work was excellent. I plan on using them in the future for my windows and siding. They are honest and they work hard.

I was very pleased. This is my first "job" with Angie and I am hooked! It's s shame there are so many dishonest "professionals" out there. This includes local contractors. Prime Home Improvement took a 1/3 down payment, a 1/3 payment halfway through the job and the balance on completion. That's the way it should be done. Never, ever pay in advance.Also, Prime Home Improvement wanted to take my American Express Card. I was happy to pay that way because if they defrauded me in any way, I could always take it up with American Express.Of course, the Prime People are a First-Rate Company and we are all happy. I would certainly do business with them again. By the way, I just renewed my membership with Angie's List for the next 3 years. Thanks, Angie!

They did a really good job. Their price was good, and the quality of their work was excellent. They were responsive and punctual. I would use their services again in the future.

I worked with Ron, who was very responsive and provided me with the original estimate. He explained my options in detail and the estimate was very reasonable. When they provided me with the top quality work, I exactly knew why they are so popular. The installers were incredible. Rain and storm forced them to delay the start and stopped them several times. They quickly protected the roof and in every chance completed one section at a time till they finished. They were very professional, detailed oriented, and courteous. It absolutely felt great when an experienced neighbor complimented their work and exceptional quality. In fact, they are so great that I have offered Ron to use me and my house as a reference.

I contacted the company after paying for the promotion 2 painters for 8 hours for $650. I left a message and received a call back within an hour. The first job was done on April11th. The 2 painters arrived around 8:30. They were very professional at first. I told them I wanted the master bathroom ceiling painted first then the kitchen and small hallway and then the diningroom. We discussed we would see if time would permit them to paint the livingroom. During the discussion, I said one of you can paint the bathroom ceiling and the other one could paint the kitchen. I was told by one of the guys that he was the painter and not the other guy. He said the other guy wouldo the trims and corners,etc. The crew only had one roller. In other words, they came with materials for one painter. By the time the 8 hours were up, the master bathroom ceiling, 3 window sills, 3 doors, kitchen ceiling, and half of the kitchen was painted. I saw the guys packing up so I asked if they were going to leave my kitchen half done? The painter said theyre time was upand they had to leave. I called the company while the crew was still at my home and explained the situation. The person I spoke ot told me he would send 2 master painters on the following day. He offered me the same promotion at a discounted price. Instead of $650 for 8 hours, I paid $500 for 8 hours. The next day the crew arrived around 8. I showed them the kitchen and they finished it. It was the same situation again. There was only 1 master painter and one roller. This crew was only able to paint my entire livingroom, and diningroom ceiling only. One guy painted and the other guy did the trims and corners. I felt that I didn't get what I paid for. The promotion said 2 painters for 8 hours. This is not what I got. I got one master painter and a helper for 8 hours. I will never use this company again. I still have to pay someone to redo the ceilings and paint the diningroom walls.r a

It was really good. They were really helpful. They were on point with everything. I am going to have them back over to paint the house.

They did a great job. It took them about 2 days to finish it. They painted the dining room, living room, an upstairs bedroom, and the trim. They cleaned up great. We were able to provide the paint which was nice because we wanted a certain kind.

Gino's advice? To wait until the roof needs to be replaced to replace the hip rafter at a much lower cost as it will be part of a larger roof replacement. His view was that the rafter was secure and would be more than sufficient until the time the roof is at the end of its useful life (12-13 years from now). That kind of advice is hard to find from any contractor. He also came out within a day's notice the day before Memorial Day weekend to help out. A real trustworthy guy.

He came to my home, walked through the apartment, and told me he would call the next day with an estimate. I never heard back from him.

Of seven roofing companies called, only three called back at all, and only two called back within a day. Prime called back promptly. Gino Ciuffetelli met me at the site, and cheerfully climbed up onto the roof with me to decide whether it needed replacement or repair. He spent half an hour with me showing me potential areas of concern, but said the roof was actually in great shape, and said he'd be surprised if it needed any money spent over the next five years if I took care of a few points. After asking if I minded getting my hands dirty (I don't), he showed me a few things I could do on my own, and told me what products I could use to take care of them. I couldn't be more pleased with Prime's fantastically prompt, polite, professional, and personal service.

They came out promptly and did a very good job on the roof. I had one issue with the gutter afterwards and they came right out to repair that. I would use them again if needed.

I thought they were really good. The roofers were excellent. If you have a problem, the owner would come and fix it right away. They were prompt in coming back to fix small jobs after the job was over. I was pleased.
