Tim Russell (Russell Renovations) did an AMAZING job on our kitchen project. We installed a stainless steel backsplash, and weren't sure who to reach out to. We asked around and neighbors recommended Tim. He responded very quickly, and after swinging over to look at the project, he was able to give us his pricing the next day. He even recommended grout colors and edging for the backsplash, which we liked. He also brought up the idea of cabinet lighting - which we hadn't thought of - and agreed to do it. We are so happy we did because it looks great and functions well. Tim got started quickly. He was clean and neat when at our home working on the project. He got it done very quickly, and it was clear to see he does great work. His craftsmanship is great, and we love the upgrade to our kitchen...we feel it completely changed the look and function of it for the better. Overall we are thrilled Tim was able to do this for us, and we look forward to working with him in the future! Amazing job, friendly and fair, just an awesome experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Everything went extremely well. Tim Russell and his crew went out of their way to meet all of our needs. We cannot be more pleased with their work. They treated it as if they were remodeling their own basement.

I heard of Russell Renovations through my sister in law who has worked with Tim several times in the past and is now close friends with him. We have twin girls who are 2 1/2 and have been looking to have the stairs onto our back patio redone for safety reasons. We weren't sure if he would be willing to take on the project since he is busy with larger jobs but he made time in his schedule to come out and go over ideas with us. He suggested several things that we didn't even know existed are glad we relied on his knowledge because the final product is above and beyond what we could have ever thought up on our own. Realistically we knew based on experience we were going to work with him regardless of cost because we know and have seen the high quality work that he does. He kept his word on everything including cost, start date and estimated time to finish. I have to say I was most impressed by the promptness at which they began working, the clean up (when I say there was nothing left for me to clean I mean NOTHING), and the fact that they were a clean, courteous, and polite crew. It was refreshing to see a hard working team that doesn't sit there and chain smoke leaving cigarette butts all over your lawn. We would definitely hire Tim and Russell Renovations again.

We have worked professionally with Tim and Russell Renovations in the past and when I found out we were expecting our first child I knew I had to reach out to him again to do custom work for our nursery. Working with the Tim in the past has been seamless and easy, I knew I could rely on his expertise to create exactly what I was looking for .. And help guide me through all of the decisions that need to be made on shape, size, color and texture of the project. I found an idea on Pinterest and worked directly with Tim, relying on his advice and knowledge, to create exactly what I was looking to have in the nursery. I can proudly tell our family, friends and guests that the carpentry is one of a kind and unique for our son.... Tim has righteously earned himself honorary godfather for our baby!

I usually don't take the time to leave reviews but just today I searched Angie's List looking for a contractor to perform a bathroom remodel. I read the reviews for Russell Renovations and saw that someone was upset about their quote fee. I am here to say that I called 8 contractors this morning and the only contractor who was willing to talk to me was Russell Renovations. Not one of the other contractors answered their phone or has called me back at this time. "Needless to say" I will be getting a quote and most likely be doing business with this company. I just met Tim for the proposal and paid him the $125 which I feel is more than adequate for his time.

I called for an estimate and was told it costs $125. If chosen as the contractor, the money would be credited to the final cost. Needless to say, no estimate was obtained.

The project went EXCELLENT !! I work for a contracting company and deal with all kinds of companies on a daily basis ,needles to say some Great, some not so . I met with Tim Russell and reviewed the drawings with all of our wish lists. Tim estimated the project and came up with a proposal. The proposal has a associated cost which you are reimbursed for if you move forward with the project, I thought that was a great idea since estimating takes time and you will find out by working with Russell Renovations he did not do his estimating on a bar napkin . The guy really knows what he's doing and is fair. He can direct you on items your not familiar with help you avoid wrong choices . The project was anticipated being around 6-8 weeks which he actually beat even when we added items as the project was underway. He also will work with you if you choose to perform some of the work yourself . Our experience was great and we look forward to working with the Russell Renovations in the future.

I contacted Tim several months ago about finishing our basement. Tim got back to me right away. He explained how they are scheduled out for a few months and that he charges for estimates. Based on his reviews from Angie's List I had no problem waiting for what seemed to be the right company for the job. Tim showed up on time and was very professional. We could tell he knows what he is doing as he had an answer or great suggestion for every question we had for him. We knew we were going to hire him for the job even before we saw his quote. We locked in the next available opening with a deposit and they started almost to the day he thought they would be here. These guys move extremely fast at every phase of the project. They obviously do not make many mistakes as there was always a lot of progress completed on a daily basis. They are very meticulous on their work. I read through all of their reviews and I have to say that when others said not to look any further they are 100% correct. We felt so comfortable with them in the house. I too would highly recommend that you hire this company if you want a job done right with a piece of mind through the construction that someone is going to take care of your house the way you would want them to. We already said we are going to hire them for our kitchen next year.

The owner, Tim Russell, oversaw and was involved in practically every single step of this project. There aren't nearly enough positive words to articulate the job that was done for us. Tim and his crew went above and beyond to get everything done and to utilize the time and money spent in the most efficient way possible. Integrity is the word that comes to mind when my family speaks of Tim Russell and the work that was done for us. Instead of seeing dollar signs, we were seen as people in need of trusted help and expertise in an area in which we were not well versed. Tim found innovative ways to stretch the budget we had to work with to encompass even more work to get done than we first anticipated. At the end of each day, Tim's crew picked up every last piece of garbage or mess that was created that day. We were amazed at how immaculate work areas were kept and how friendly, polite, and professional everyone was. We have a dog that isn't always good at keeping to itself and Tim's crew was so great with him. By the end of the project, everything that needed doing was done. Done really well, and on budget. I would hire Russell Renovations again in a heart beat. I have already suggested their services to a work colleague and a family member that are both in need of home renovations. If you are in need of quality work, fair pricing, and genuine professionalism to work on your home then you have found all that and more with Russell Renovations of WNY.

I gave Tim a directive that my garage man-door and metal basement doors were to be removed and the walls re-built as if the doors were never there in the first place. Needless to say, the task was accomplished. The bay window underside was secured with vinyl and I won't have to worry about the wind exposing that area again. I can't say enough about the finishing work in the garage; the drywall and paint work is fantastic. The area with the utility penetrations was sealed with foam insulation and the air leakage and R-value should show a significant improvement this winter.

We started a bathroom renovation in December 2015. Unfortunately, we were burned by an incompetent contractor. We had to fire them because they did substandard work. We immediately set out to find a new contractor to finish the job. We quickly learned there were a few factors that made finishing the bath remodel a challenge: - Because the bathroom had been demolished and a small amount of rebuild was already done, the new contractor would start work on the renovation partway through. This can be difficult because it's hard to get the "big picture" and figure out what is yet to be done, and most contractors want start-to-finish control over the process. - Because the city building inspector had been involved, the inspector was bound to keep an eagle eye on whoever we hired and make sure things were done to the letter. - Any contractor ran the risk that we, as wronged customers, might be extra demanding or negative. That would be a good assumption in our case. I had a 7 page long list of requirements for the bathroom, along with specific demands for the way the contract was written - I just couldn't afford any more delays or failures on this project. - Our house is 130 years old, with all the structural / plumbing / electrical challenges that come with it. Not many contractors have the experience or skill to work on that - old homes never have right angles, they have strange historical plumbing and heating, and can be difficult to bring up to code while maintaining the integrity and continuity of the original style. There is almost always an unexpected problem when doing work in an old home. - We had a hard deadline due to expecting a baby, and the deadline was looming closer because of the time resolving things with the previous contractor. Most contractors would cringe at this combination of factors. In fact, several simply refused to even give us a quote. While we waited, we hired an architect to help us plan the layout, and they recommended Russell Renovations. We gave him a call. Tim was unfazed by the challenges he was facing in taking on this job. He did us a huge favor by working us in to his existing schedule so we could have a working bathroom by the time our new family member arrived. He was always 100% professional and positive, and we felt confident hiring him. Tim's passion for renovation is clear. He told us he is harder on himself than we could possibly be, and he was totally right. He was exacting in everything he worked on. I would text or email him with concerns and he would address them the same day. He made sure everything was done start to finish, even hanging up the shower curtain at the end. It was obvious how much pride he takes in his work, the work of his subcontractors, and how much he cares about helping people achieve their dream homes. There were a few occasions where I made last-minute changes to the design, and prefaced this with "I know this is outside the scope of my original request, so if you do not want to accommodate this, please feel free to say no." Wherever he could, he was flexible on his work without complaint. Extremely respectful and pleasant to work with. He is an excellent project planner and willing to go the extra mile to stay on schedule, even in the face of unexpected delays. He is highly organized and responsive. It is pretty rare to find residential contractors with this combination of project management expertise, construction skills, customer service, and design. He has a fairly long backlog of work right now, but that is because the work is worth the wait. I will not lie, this kind of skill and dedication costs money. Tim's quote was the highest of the estimates we got from contractors. But I still give it a high grade. We anticipate that we will have paid for this work ONCE, because it will not need to be redone or fixed. He is meticulous and professional about accurately estimating the cost of the work and materials. It is expensive. But in my opinion, if you value quality work, hiring Russell Renovations is worth both the wait and the cost. I am thrilled with the renovation. It was almost worth the stress of the bad contractor to find such a good one. If he could handle our nightmare bathroom renovation, I'm pretty sure he can do anything. He saved our project. My wife and I have been thinking about finishing our basement for some time. When we decided to get the job done we were very careful in the selection process for a contractor. After doing an extensive search, we decided to call Russell Renovations WNY, Inc. for an estimate. I called Tim (the owner) and left him a message to call me back. Not only did he promptly call me back, but he was willing to spend as much time as possible answer some general questions I had. We scheduled an estimate and again, he was right on time. Tim did a detailed inspection of our basement, listened to all of our wish list items. He was willing to counter with his own ideas and when he left, we were extremely excited. Within a short time frame Tim returned to us with an estimate, a detailed summary of the job, price, time frame, and options that we had discussed. He did not forget a thing. Every single detail or option we mentioned he remembered. Once we decided to hire Russell Renovations Tim gave us a starting date. Tim also gave us detailed instructions on when and where to pick out our materials for the job, we did not run into one issue during this process. Russell Renovations was able to start the work a week early, so again there was no waiting for them. Eight AM sharp everyday the crew arrived. Tim, his son Seth and one other employee where there everyday. They took care to respect my home, family and even my dog! Everyday when they left work, they cleaned, it was like they were not there! The work moved along fast and Tim was there to answer questions every step of the way. They work hard too, a few nights Seth stayed extra late (he asked of course) to ensure that the job was done right! Tim and his wife Anna even came on Saturdays to paint the basement for us! Talk about dedication and love for what you do. My wife and I cannot be more pleased with the job that was done. The attention to detail was amazing. When we imagined getting our basement finished, Tim and his team took it to a whole other level. The attention to detail was amazing. We will and have already recommended Russell Renovations to our friends and family. We are looking forward to the next project with Russell Renovations!

This was my first experience doing a large project with a contractor and I can honestly say I will work with Russell Renovations as long as they are able to. I even joked that my husband will never lift a finger again. Their professionalism is above and beyond what I could have ever imagined. I found them through Angie?s list and am very pleased that I did. From the very first meeting they were on time, professional, and very easy to work with. In fact, out of everyone I met with, Tim was the only contractor who was on time and didn?t have a reason to reschedule or cancel our initial meeting. I am very particular with who I allow to do work in my house, and after meeting with 10+ contractors I knew I had to work with Russell Renovations. I was very impressed with the ease of communication and transparency. I had several ideas I found online and Tim worked with me closely to make them become reality. Everything was completed as I had requested in the time frame that was asked. While doing the work they were more than respectful to my family, friends and neighbors who had stopped by several times to admire the work. The working conditions were very clean with absolutely no work left for me to do afterwards. There were no delays or unexpected circumstances. We are so pleased with the work and do not have any complaints or concerns. I would highly recommend Russell Renovations to anyone looking for high quality amazing work.

Quality service right from the beginning. This was our first time working with a contractor and I have to praise Tim and his crew for their patience and professionalism. We made many changes throughout the project even up to the last day and the Russell Renovations crew were always up to each new task. They were very clean and made a point of cleaning up each day. Tim's estimate was fair and his product allotments were generous. Our new home theater looks great and is exactly how we envisioned it! We look forward to having the crew finish/remodel our guest bedroom in the future.

As always, working with Tim and Russell Renovations is a delight. They did extra work at no charge, they pay attention to every little detail and are always on time. Even better, I trust them 100%. Tim and the team are the most trustworthy construction team I've met in 10+ years. While he's not the cheapest guy on the block, he's worth the extra $$. I can't say enough good things.

From start to finish, everything went flawlessly, at least on our end. If there was ever a point where anything didn't go exactly as planned, it wasn't noticeable on our end. Tim and his crew were professional, courteous and quick about getting all the work done so things could get back to normal for us as quickly as possible. From the estimate to each facet of the project, Tim explained exactly how it would go, and that's exactly how it was carried out. My husband was working out of state while all this was going on, so I had to handle everything. There was never a moment that I felt intimidated or uncomfortable with the workers in my home. That was a really big deal to me, and I'm so grateful we hired Russell Renovations for this project for that reason alone. The guys have great personalities and were excellent at making small talk with me if I happened to be in the kitchen while they were working. And I have a big dog, which I was worried might freak them out a little bit, but they were great with her too! There was a good bit of work that had to be done resulting from an ice dam last February. We had water damage in several rooms. Drywall had to be replaced in some cases. We had some resulting mold in one of the bedrooms. They were able to match the paint PERFECTLY to my existing paint and you can't tell even the slightest that there was ever any work done. Anna is incredible with a brush! If you have the opportunity to hire Tim and his team to do anything in your home, I recommend you do it. Honest, hard-working and skilled are just three of the many positive attributes of Russell Renovations. I've already talked to my husband about having them come back and do some other projects when they've got time in their schedule.

Tim was very professional, he was here on time and when he said he would be. He kept everything neat and orderly. He is by far the best contractor we have ever worked with. From the minute we met Tim we wanted to work with him. He was not only honest he showed a sincere interest in our kitchen renovation. Tim made suggestions, he was able to add on installing a new door for our pantry even though I thought about this toward the end Tim was more than happy to add it, he then picked up the door for us, had Anna paint it and he commented on how he really liked how it looked. Tim kept us updated continually on the progress of our job. A countertop arrived cracked and we had to wait a few extra days for it, Tim was very on top of this with the company he works with for quartz, he apologized to us even though this was no fault of his own. It was not a big deal as we were able to use the rest of the kitchen. To say that Tim is a perfectionist is an understatement he is meticulous and his work is done on time. He and his son Seth do an outstanding job, they are both friendly, polite, respectful and professional. Anna (Tim's wife) does the painting to perfection she adds the luster to this team. Our kitchen is now a dream kitchen. State of the art, designer quality at a very reasonable price. The quality and craftsmanship that goes into their work is hard to find in today's world. Tim really puts his heart and soul into his work, he shows a sincere, enthusiastic interest in his work and he should be very proud of his outstanding standards of work. We will only work with Tim on any of our projects moving forward. We highly recommend Tim for any project and are willing to have Tim show our kitchen if need be.

My wife has been bothering me to get hardwood floors for several years now. After much debate, I knew I could not put it off for much longer so I finally gave in to her. You know the old saying ?Happy Wife Happy Life?. We researched several contractors in the area but in the end we decided to go with one from our neighborhood, Russell Renovations. After doing a little research it really was a no-brainer. His prices were better than any other reputable contractor and all of his clients were extremely satisfied with his work. We know numerous people that Russell Renovations has done work for in our neighborhood and they all rave about Tim and his crew. Communication with Tim was extremely easy. He quickly responded to all of our emails and phone calls and immediately addressed any concerns we had. Tim made the whole process go smooth and easy. He started off by educating us about our options and how the project would go. He informed us of the pros and cons of the types of hardwood and pointed us in the right direction to get the best prices on the product. His amazing wife Anna even assisted us in picking out the perfect flooring and paint colors that would match the rest of our décor. Anna has such a sense of style she should be in the interior decorating business. When the job started, Russell Renovations arrived exactly when they said they would. They started by prepping the jobsite to create organization to limit the mess. Tim even brought in a portable air cleaner to remove all of the excess dust which kept the rest of our house extremely clean. After each day was complete, Tim and his crew thoroughly cleaned up the worksite and put away all of the tools. Because of this, we were still able to function in our home with relative ease even though we had a major construction project going on. He was extremely conscientious towards our needs. The final outcome of the project was incredible. We could not believe what an amazing job Russell Renovations did in such a short time. Bob Villa ain?t got nothin on Tim Russell. My wife is slightly OCD about things and even she could not find a single flaw in any of their work. The hardwood floors and tile were meticulously laid and all cuts were impeccable. Pablo Picasso could not have done a better job with the painting. All the edging was painted perfect and you couldn?t find any streaks on the walls. Tim?s professional and enthusiastic attitude made this job stress free for us. I have to admit that after putting this off for several years it was the best move I could have made. My wife has not stopped smiling since it was completed. Russell Renovations is all about customer satisfaction and I can guarantee you will get that if you decide to hire them.

It went fantastically. I had an idea for a shelving unit...I found pictures of an example online and it was replicated perfectly. I do not make decisions lightly, but Tim was patient and encouraging the whole time. I could not be happier with the result; a floor to ceiling unit constructed out of reclaimed wood and industrial piping.

The work was performed on time and on budget, including additional items and changes. The place looks great and came out just as we envisioned, maybe even a little better than expected. Also, Tim and his team worked a "B" shift from 5pm-Midnight so I could keep serving my customers during business hours. Great care was taken daily to minimize dust and dirt so that my office staff and customers were not impacted by the project.

We found Tim and Russell Renovations WNY through some recommendations from friends. My wife and I wanted to finish our basement (have a rec room for the kids to play as well as a workout room and craft room for the kids and wife to paint etc). Tim was very receptive to our ideas and even provided some of his own. Venturing into a project like this obviously had us a little nervous but Tim made us feel at ease with his knowledge, ideas, and overall demeanor. Obviously we called some other contractors to get estimates, but everyone was put up against Tim's. Not so much in terms of cost but more so how comfortable were we with them and how confident in the work they were to perform (as I look back I'm wondering why I even bothered getting other estimates). We got a little over our heads with our wish list, but Tim was very receptive to us changing some of our wants and needs amending the estimate and was even cool with us doing some of the work ourselves to save some money. When it came time for the work to be performed we were amazed at how prompt, clean, knowledgeable and professional Tim and his crew were. They worked straight from start time to finish (not even sure if they took lunch breaks). Even entertaining my 2 and 4 year olds non stop questions of "what are you doing?" Throughout the course of the process there were a few suggestions Tim had with some "dead space" we had in certain areas. Even some add-ons were no problem for Tim and the guys. And yes, even the screw up on my part for not properly planning some placement and wiring for lighting AFTER they had started to drywall was met with a "no problem, we'll take care of it" (Sorry guys!). The finished product?????? ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! The kids love it. All our friends and family that have visited are amazed at the work the guys did. When its time for our kitchen and bath remodel I know who we are calling now!!

As I read the earlier posted reviews, I keep saying, ?Yep, check, check, that?s right?? That is to say that everything that has been written about Russell Renovations WNY Inc. is true to my experience as well. What struck me most, however, was something less tangible. To back up, I stumbled upon Tim simply by joining Angie?s List and throwing in a search term related to construction. I had a unique, small project that needed expertise that I did not find among people that I knew. Though Tim had never done such a project, he immediately contacted me back, said he had never done it, but was willing to explore it. He answered SO many questions of mine, all via e-mail, day after day. I was passionate about this project. Patient and kind, Tim was excited for, and with, me. I had no idea that he had completed a number of major projects; I just knew he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I?ll skip all the aforementioned accolades such as Tim?s ongoing communication, reliability, skill, etc. I want to take a moment to share my first meeting with Tim. My training includes studying relationships and behaviors, so I read people pretty well, and fairly quickly. I felt immediately comfortable with him; I knew that he was right for the job with his serious, yet easy way. When he left, I not only felt confident, but I was once again ?through the roof? excited. He got it; he saw the vision I had in my head and was going to make it materialize. And he did. Exceedingly so. Along the way, there were times when I would say, ?Oh wait! What about??? And Tim would say, ?I already took care of that? or ?That?s what I am here for.? Equally impressive, if Tim couldn't back something up, he would say so and not attempt to make something work, just because. Since then we have moved on to another small, but equally thrilling project. Again, new to Tim, new to me. It is turning out beautifully, with help from his son, Seth. They work seamlessly together; the admiration and respect they have for one another is evident. They laugh easily, and keep me entertained in the process. And though I have not yet met Anna, early on she added her professional opinion via text through Tim; I appreciated her input and proceeded with her suggestion. I have more ideas?lots of ideas! Since I am dropping Tim?s name all over the place; I only hope that when I am ready to begin my next adventure, he and his esteemed crew will be available! :)

What an awesome experience this has been! It all started with Tim's very thorough and detailed estimate. I felt at ease right away, and was confident that Tim understood exactly what I wanted to accomplish. The end result is even better than I anticipated. Tim, Anna and Seth have been wonderful to deal with - true craftsmen - very professional, prompt, knowledgeable, honest, neat and organized - they kept me in the loop every step of the way. What's really amazing is how quickly and efficiently they got the job done, making helpful suggestions, and overall making what could have been a daunting and overwhelming experience much easier, and fun, than I ever imagined it could be. My basement was transformed from wasted/unusable space, to my favorite part of the house, just one month later - Incredible!
