Description of Work: I had immediate need of a hot water tank replacement. I received prompt, same day service through installation. My one surprise was that the plumber came alone. If I had not been there to help him bring the old heavy boiler upstairs and help get the new one into the basement he could not have accomplished his task. If he would have had to call the office for manpower help they would have been at my home until midnight. Great job. Great service but the customer should not be counted upon to e the work crew for the price I paid.

Description of Work: They repaired a burst frozen heating pipe. The burst pipe was under the floor boards inside a closet on the third floor. The water poured down the wall to the second floor dining room and then into the basement. To access and repair the pipe they removed the hardwood floor inside the closet and the sheetrock and the wall insulation. On the second floor they had to remove a portion of the ceiling, wall paneling, sheetrock and insulation. They could not come when I first called because of the volume of emergency calls that day but promised to call me back in the afternoon as soon as they had a chance. They called back as promised and repaired the emergency. They were very professional and very pleasant. I would recommend them.

Description of Work: For an emergency service they weren't very prompt. I called them on Sat. and the receptionist said that they would get back to me sometime later in the day. I drove all the way out to Huntington to get the faucet I wanted for them to install. Later that evening they called me back and told me that they couldn't come till Monday, I told them that that wasn't acceptable and they finally said that they would com on Sunday. He finally did at about 5PM. If I had to wait till Monday, I wouldn't need them I could have called my regular plumber. We he did get here he did a good job installing the faucet.

Description of Work: We called because our water heater was leaking. The water heater needed to be replaced. It was late Saturday afternoon, and the repair man replaced the hot water heater. The entire replacement from the first visit to the second visit and installment was approximately 3 hours. Job well done

Description of Work: The first time Howard Linzer came was to repair the shower fixture - he was the only one who asked to see a photo so he could diagnose if the part was "standard" and could be replaced. I can't even describe the absurd conversations I had with other plumbers - even refusing to give me any sense whatsoever of what the cost would be. Howard gave me a fair estimate and the work was done precisely - gave me an Angie's List discount as well. Today, I needed him to fix the plumbing to accommodate new dishwasher and as luck would have it, my waste drain backed up earlier in the day. He fit us in early in his schedule and repaired both problems. Asked about a drip in the bath and he advised that it wasn't worth fixing. Very satisfied with his professionalism. Will definitely call again.

Description of Work: Plumber had to fix two toilets in the office. He guaranteed his work... He did have to come back and fixed the problems with no additional charge. He even held the check for an extra month to make sure we were completely satisfied and happy with the work. We went from a plumber every week to 2 1/2 months with no plumber needed

Description of Work: On a cold Saturday afternoon the pilot light went out in the gas furnace, disabling the central heating system, which needs hot water to function. After calling two plumbers in Port Washington, with no reply, I managed to connect with Howard, who runs Pro Mechanical. He was busy on another job at the time but answered his cell phone and said he could be at my place in an hour or two. After calling him again later to check how far away he was, Howard said he would arrive "within about 20 minutes," which in fact he and his assistant did. He quickly lit up the pilot light, which he said was small and likely to go out again after he had left. His solution was to install a new piece of equipment that he said would make the light more stable and far less likely to go out again. At some point I must confess that a cynic like me felt like being at an auto mechanic's: If the mechanic says you need a new suspension or replacement headlights, and you know nothing about cars (except driving them), how can you tell if that information is correct? But given Howard's quick response, his positive reviews, his pleasant demeanor and the fact that it was now a dark, cold early evening, I decided to go ahead with his recommendation. So far, so very good, especially with the snowstorm said to be approaching Long Island this coming weekend.
