Fred's Chimney Magic

I needed my chimney cleaned. I got this deal through Angie's List which also entitled me to a chimey cap, which I didn't need. They arrived at the time agreed upon and did a very good job. I also got some advice on starting a fire in the fireplace more efficiently. Overall I was very happy with the experience.

I call for repair of chimney cap from Sandy. they didn't give me an out of ballpark price. I had used their service for gutter cleaning earlier in the year. They were prompt did the service called to see if I was satisfied.

Arrived on time. Explained steps and rationale for repair. Very professional and personable.I will call them again.

They were here for a while and were able to give me advice. They were very professional and they worked hard. I have already hired them for more work.

Very very nice and professional servicemen. There was a miscommunication with myself and the Angie's coupon/Fred's Chimney Service as I thought the coupon I purchased through Angie's List was for the cleaning of the vent in the drier as well as the piping that leads to outside. Unfortunately it only covered the piping that leads to outside, so they were finished in 5 minutes and I still had to purchase a snake brush to clean out my drier vents.

They did a nice job cleaning the vent. Unfortunately, the vent became disconnected behind the wall and they advised me that it need to be replaced because it was not up to code and posed a fire hazard. They gave me a quote for $650 to do the work. I hired someone else who did it for $175.

O.K. NOW I'm impressed. I recently gave this company a negative review. I just received a letter of apology and A FULL REFUND plus an offer of a free service in the future. That shows to me these people truly CARE about what their customers think. I MUST ADMIT I DID NOT EXPECT THIS TYPE OF RESPONSE - I'm VERY IMPRESSED.

After purchasing a coupon for a dryer vent cleaning on Angie's List, I contact JFT to schedule an appointment. The office manager was courteous and friendly, and my appointment was set up promptly. The office manager called the night before my appointment to confirm everything, giving me a 2-hour window (which is convenient, given that other companies make you wait around all day) and the two technicians who performed the service called about 30 minutes before they showed up to let me know they were on their way. Both technicians were professional, and one even performed some light maintenance work on my dryer duct free of charge. All-in-all, I would highly recommend JFT to perform a dryer vent cleaning and will consider using them for other jobs in the future.

When the company came they said I did not need it and all i needed was a cleaning for $59. I appreciated their honesty & follow up.

I called this company to give my fireplace chimney its annual cleaning. They gave me a price that was comparable to other companies, took my information and set up an appointment. The office gave me a call the day before the scheduled appointment to let me know what time to expect them. Two men came and proceeded to set out tarps, tools, etc. I had cleaned the firebox of ashesprior to them coming and was going to remove the grate when they arrived, but they told me not to get dirty and that they would handle everything. They quickly, yet thoroughly, inspected and cleaned the chimney. They left the area clean and tidy. Their inspection found no problems therefore they did not recommend additional work at this time. I was very pleased with them and definitely will hire them for future cleanings any chimney work that needs to be done. Thank you for another company with courtesy, integrity and professionalism.

Fred had originally sent someone who triggered a bad review from me i was not happy with his professionalism and his main focus on selling me a liner for my chimney I wrote a failing review (which was deserved) Fred called and was unhappy, I respect a businessman who wants to make things right, and has gumption! Fred showed up and made it right, did a beautiful job, a true professional , I intend to work with Fred again. He knows that making people happy is the basis of good business. We all make mistakes, it's what you do about them that counts! Thanks Fred

The technician arrived on time. He answered all questions posed, cleaned the dryer vent and provided recommendations regarding dryer safety. He was very pleasant and professional.

Had a great experience with Fred's from the person handling the phones to Chris and the other workers. They were polite, on time, explained everything clearly, and weren't pushy about the chimney liner replacement. They also cleaned up after themselves.

They were amazing. They were absolutely professional. They came when they said they would and kept us informed. They are clean courteous and very professional. We had a nightmare of a job due to unforseen problems due to the time the chimney was built. The job took longer than expected and they stuck to their quote and did not stop until the job was complete. Mike was absolutely phenomenal and kept me informed of the work and timeframe changes. Problems can always arise on projects and Mike was great in handling them.

Work performed on two separate days was done well and with careful attention to keeping surroundings clean. Instructions for follow-up operation of fireplace were clear.

Originally Fred Chimneys was used to clean my dryer vent but upon start of the work they advised that nothing needed to be done, it was clear already and they took the time to explain to me what we should look out for when it is time to clean the vent. They did advise us that we should have the chimney cap replaced as it was loose on top of chimney. They replaced the chimney cap, the chimney lining and cleaned the chimney. Before starting the work they answered all the questions we had before starting and we had a lot and educated us on the role of the chimney ( I thought it was only used for fireplace) and maintenance that should be performed. We checked with friends and family and confirmed everything that was told to us. We agreed on time to perform the work, they made it on time and completed the job very well. I was very satisfied with the work.

Shows up on time. Explained what I needed. Answered all my questions. Cleaned up after him self. I'm very pleased with his work and believe his prices are fair. My neighbors are now using him.

I would recommend this service and this company. Professionally run. Everyone was polite including the office staff.

They did a very good job. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. They were very thorough. It was a good price but we were a little surprised that they were collecting taxes from us on this Angie's list Big Deal. No other companies have collected taxes after we purchased Their "Big Deals" from Angie's List. But overall it was a good price and they did a great job.
