This is a rental property and wanted the chimney swept as general spring maintenance. Not really sure of the quality of job that’s being done because you cannot see anything . But he was on my property less than 10 minutes. His first interaction with me was on the phone and said I’m from Fred’s chimney magic, who’s gonna pay me. Didn’t personally introduce himself. Didn’t say what job he’s going to complete. Very upfront and blunt that if he wasn’t getting paid upfront he basically was getting back in his van and leaving. For what it’s worth. Again, I don’t know the quality of service because you cannot technically see what they are doing, but it just based on the interactions I had with them. I’m assuming the quality of service was not top-notch either. He did not offer any hints, tips, suggestions, I had a drag all the information out of them. Don’t even know if it was the truth or not that was being told. I will not be using them in the future.

Fred's Chimney Magic refused to honor the "Groupon" promotion they advertised for a fireplace cleaning and inspection, claiming I had a "nest" in my flue. This "nest", as it turned out, consisted of a small shopping bag full of leaves and small branches (see photo below). Removing such small amounts of debris is part of any standard seasonal chimney cleaning. Not only did they try to charge me five times more that what I agreed to pay for the service prior to scheduling a service visit, they tried to upsell me on additional chimney work which had nothing to do with the basic cleaning and safety inspection I paid for (big red flag). Moreover, the two chimney sweeps they sent couldn't have looked more unhappy to be there. No. sooner did they arrive for the appointment, that they bolted into my house as if someone were chasing them--obviously looking to do a quick rush job, with literally zero effort made to explain any aspect of the process to the homeowner. They immediately seemed exasperated and jabbered to each other nervously, as if I were not even there. I felt uncomfortable with the situation from start to finish, as I could tell from the outset, based on their behavior alone, that they had no intention of cleaning our chimney that day without extorting a considerably higher fee from us. When we refused to fork over the extra money for their "nest removal service", they abruptly begged off the job and then quickly departed, visibly annoyed. The chimney sweep who did most of the talking spoke to us in tone which was blatantly condescending and rude. To make things worse, the service was scheduled just four days before Christmas, which means that we were nearly deprived of the use of our fireplace over the holidays as a result of this highly regrettable incident. Fortunately, we were able to get another Chimney sweep out to our residence that same day on extreme short notice, who promptly ascended onto our roof and brushed out our chimney for one hundred dollars less than what this company tried to charge us for the same service. See the dated photo below showing the safely working fireplace exactly one day later. There was such a pronounced lack of professionalism evident in the way the visit was conducted by this company, that I could never in good conscience recommend their services to others, nor hire them for any further work on my chimney. When I do decide to have maintenance work done on my chimney (repointing, caulking, and a new chimney cap) in the near future, I definitely won't be dealing with this company. In my sincere opinion, they just can't be trusted.

Randy & Ross were awesome. Came by, inspected a 75 year old chimney and replaced the liner and installed a cap. Showed me everything they did, walked me through step-by-step, and were very clear and fun to talk with. They were very fair with pricing too. I definitely recommend using Chimney Magic!

They were punctual, quick but thorough and informative. Cleaned and inspected our wood burning fireplace stove. Very clean process, after years of use the flue looked like new! Respectful & polite, will use again.

We have had Chimney Magic sweep our chimneys on a regular basis for years. Two years ago they noted a build-up of glaze in the chimney of a fireplace which we use regularly. This year they reiterated the warning regarding the glaze build-up and we decided to have the glaze removed. Chimney Magic did the glaze removal in a professional manner and suggested strategies to avoid the build-up of glaze in the future.

Everything went very smoothly. The customer service was great. The price was reasonable and the guys who came were honest, professional, and did an excellent job. Would definitely recommend.

Mike called 15min before his arrival. When he arrived with his helper he explained what they would be doing. Job was completed leaving all areas they worked on very clean. Mike then took me over all the works showing me the photos taken of the chimney top, flashing and discussed the energy efficiency I should now experience due to the new lining and cleaning of the chimney. Brilliant communication, professional and timely. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends. I won't be going anywhere else. Office staff are very helpful and patient. Fred's Chimney provided reasonable price and was prompt on communication and scheduling. Mike and his helper were ontime and went over work done. Yard was swept clean. Work done: flashing repaired, caulking done between chimney and house, old flacky drylock scraped and chimney repainted with drylock. Would hire again.

Tommy and his crew came out, assessed the situation, had a plan, but decided not to go with his first option. So we arranged to have him come back as we were going out of town. On our return, he showed up as promised and did the work in a timely manner. It was a pleasure dealing with him and his smile and wit. I think my neighbor even came out and asked about getting work done. Job well done.

Excellent service. They showed up on time were very clean and prompt. They did great work, walking me through exactly what they were doing, and things I should be paying attention to for maintenance going forward. I will definitely be hiring them again.

Although Tommy and his crew came on a very humid day, they were professional & came prepared. Even cleared out a stinky bird nest that was stopping up a main drain spout. Every gutter on my property was checked even though the job was for the home’s main home gutters. They are now my go-to company for cleaning gutters as well as any chimney issues.

Did a great job blowing off tree debris and leaves from roof and gutters. They arrived promptly when stated. Their was some confusion initially about the details of the work. Gigi from the office called and rectified before they arrived. I would hire again.
