Fred's Chimney Magic

I was quoted by another service provider $5000 to fix my chimney. My son checked with Angie's List and found Fred's Chimney Magic. The owner looked at my issue and told me he could do a temporary fix for only $350.00. He was outstanding and I appreciate his honesty and will be using him again. He is also very courteous and on time.

Great! They did a great job.

Everything went well. They were very thorough, arrived on time, and did excellent work. The only issue is that they've been quite persistent in trying to upsell me on additional services.

We have nothing but praise for the courtesy and professionalism of the providers. We were encouraged to get other estimates for all work and all recommendations came with literature to explain why particular services/items were appropriate. Work was done on time and efficiently.

I purchased a big deal from them. They came in and did good work but they were a little high priced. They also gave me more information on how to get things done and questions that I had. They were very kind and emailed me some information as well.

They arrived on time as they have done in the past. Thoroughly cleaned my fireplace with absolutely no mess. They then proceeded to clean my gutters. After they were done they cleaned up after themselves and left my yard spotless. I have used this company twice in the past for other services and have highly recommended them to my neighbors.

Great job on both occasions. The initial job was straightforward and did not take long to complete. The second job involved significantly more skill and time, but I feel confident that the chimney is in fine shape for the foreseeable future.

I was very happy with the service. I had some fears that all was not well, but after he (Tommy) checked the venting behind the downstairs wall, he found it just the way it should have been. He sealed at the flashing on the roof. He recommended that we seal the chimney from the effects of rain and snow and ice, so I had him spray it with a water resistant spray. It went smoothly and timely, and I am very pleased. I would definiaately call them again.

they are showed up on time, get the work done. The overall cost is a bit pricy. I guess you get what you pay for.

Unexpected issues with the chimney. Mike and Ron came out. Informed me of the problems with my chimney. Gave me an estimated cost of repairs which runs in the thousands. Received follow-up call backs from the company. Work to be done would require a licensed electrician. This company asked me to get back to them about the cost of the electrician and offered to work with me pricewise. I called with questions that I had for Mike, and he returned my phone calls in a timely manner. I gave a cash deposit on the initial visit which was promptly returned when I stated that I am researching the situation and not going forth right now with the repairs. Currently, I am still researching my options regarding the chimney and feel comfortable calling this company with any questions and concerns that I may have.

Mike and Ryan arrived right on time. They were very professional, thorough, and personable. They spent about half an hour cleaning out the dryer vent which apparently was sorely needed. (My clothes were taking two cycles to dry). When they were finished, Mike suggested that I might want to install a vent cap on the roof to prevent debris and small animals (!) from entering my pipes. I never knew that that was a possibility! Needless to say, I was eager to have the vent cap installed. I was very happy with Fred's Chimney Magic and would heartily recommend them.

Unfortunately, I was not able to participate in the deal because Fred's Chimney Magic doesn't service my area. However, the company was very responsive and apologetic to me. They actually followed up with me twice.

The guys came and cleaned the vents. They did a good job. They came promptly. They did what they were doing. They made sure that the vents were clean and all the ancillary piping was taken cared off. When they left, the dryers worked perfectly. We were very pleased with them. They did this not just for my house, but for our entire building here in Brooklyn. The price was good.

This is an update to the review I wrote yesterday. After writing the original review I noticed that the provider used my hose, which is no problem. However they failed to put it back into place. I am still satisfied with this provider but felt I had to mention this one fault.

They came out sometime in August and the service was fine, there was no problem. They did what they were suppose to do and the service was good. I did pay them extra because I also let them clean my gutters.

The men who came for the vent cleaning came on time. They examined the vent before proceeding and let me know what could or could not be done. They did a good job cleaning the vent. They also provided some feedback on some additional work that could be done mostly as a safety precaution. They also provided pamphlets and leaflets with information. I would definitely use them again.

Everything went very well. Chris and Alonzo arrived just after 8:30 AM (we were told a window of 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM), and were very courteous, professional and efficient. The cleaning took just short of an hour, and they left estimates to correct some issues left by a previous service provider which seem to be very reasonable. They also performed a minor repair on the dryer vent pipe which was causing much of the moist vented air to vent into the space under an extension in the back of the house. I plan to reuse Fred's Chimney Magic again for future sweeping/vent cleaning needs.

He showed up on time and completed the job. I was satisfied.

I called the day I purchased this Big Deal & they were available the next day, which I was not. They called when they were on the way to my house and arrived early. I was not home, so they called & asked if they could start the job, which I agreed. Both men who came were very nice & professional.

Very well. Very punctual, professional, efficient & seemed to do a thorough cleaning.

They came as scheduled, got right down to the work and finished it in one day. My oil bill has been lower over the recent months and it's probably because of the work they did.

Very professional operation. Discussed needs on initial call and set appt for in-home estimate. On estimate day: two guys arrived on time, went on roof and took measurements, then discussed options. On agreement, I asked how soon & quickly they could get the work done.... They checked the truck's inventory, and then agreed to do it immediately (unexpected, impressive). During gutter cleaning, they noted some areas in need of attention with regard to roofing shingles and they informed me. Then they took my cell phone to the roof to take pics of the areas. Note: This company does NOT even do roofing repairs... they just did this for me as an added value! Cleaning the gutters caused some sand/gravel piles on the ground, which the guys apparently didn't see before they left (nor did I before letting them go). Next day after service, the office called to ensure I was fully satisfied with the job (nice, impressive). I told her that there were a few small piles of gunk that drained from the now cleaned gutters, and that it was ok... I said I'd clean it up myself. She REFUSED.... insist that they would return to complete the clean up, which they did. All around, excellent experience.

He was courteous, punctual and very professional. The job was completed in a timely fashion.

Told me about chimney lining is worn and has cracks. Chimney needs inside lining and needs to be raised for proper draft. Fred's Chimney Magic is returning to due repairs.
