It couldn't have gone any smoother. Almost immediately after I made the purchase, they contacted me to set up a date to do the work. Their receptionist (Annette I believe) was very courteous. I believe I made the purchase on June 11th or 12th and they were able to do the work on June 17th. They were able to accommodate our request for a late afternoon (after 3PM) appt time, and Annette called me to let me know when the crew was on its way. The two men (Chris and his helper, Alfonso I think) were cheerful and outgoing. They got the job done, cleaning my gutters and installing the leaf guards, left no mess behind, and Chris even took a picture of the work done and showed it to me. From start to finish I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If people like Annette and Chris are an indication of the rest of their employees, it is easy to see why Fred's Chimney Magic/JFT is so highly rated on Angie's List

The guys came on time and work was done very well on the gutters and chimney sweep. It was easy and quick. The two guys were very professional and friendly. They also gave me advice on how to maintain my fireplace and how to make it function better. Of course they offered to service it but they were not forceful and it remained a recommendation. I will continue to use their services from now on because the experience was very good.

After the rather aggressive cleaning of the flue, much of the smoke smell was gone as promised. But I agreed to follow up with the smoke chamber recommendation, both to add security and to make sure the aggressive cleaning had not added to the holes in that part of the chimney. The second part of the job was slightly less than half if the total cost. Not sure if this was needed, but if feel better for it and almost no smoke smell left. Did one more piece of work with another company to complete the work- had the firebox cleaned of creosote, re mortared and repainted. Now no smell at all. Interestingly, I was also told that the routine "sweeping" of the chimney is unnecessary of you have a chimney cap that is left closed when not in use; the sweep with a brush does nothing to disturb creosote.

Mike came to my house to address 3 small problems with my gutters. He was honest and professional and came up with a clever solution to fix one of my gutters. Rather than recomend an expensive solution, he made 3 quick fixes.

Fred's Chimney Magic was terrific. We were able to set up an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. Office contacts were very friendly and helpful. Two men arrived on time and competed the cleaning and inspection in a timely manner. After they were finished one of the men came in and very thoroughly went over their findings and recommendations. He carried a binder that helped explain all of the work that was recommended so it was easy to understand. Very courteous and professional.

We had a very good experience with this company. The staff in their office was very professional and informative. They made every effort to remain in contact with us throughout this entire process, even insofar as calling the day before to confirm our appointment, as well as calling 10 minutes before the job began to make sure I was home and available. The workers, Chris and Alonzo, were also extremely courteous and professional. They arrived on time and began working immediately and quietly. Once their work was completed, they explained everything that they had done and had even taken the initiative to fix an issue that we were not aware and that had not been on the original work order (at no extra cost). I would absolutely call this company in the future.

Used same company for chimney. Communicated well and were punctual. Cleaned the gutter, put of the guards and that was that. No more overflow from gutters.

They did a fine job and they performed a fast service. They when they got to the dryer vent cleaning portion of the deal, they uncovered a problem that the vent had been disconnected. I was then able to get that fixed with another company. They were apologetic that they could not do dryer vent cleaning to complete the job. Two employees came out and were here for about an hour and a half. They wrote down everything that I needed to get done for the dryer, which was helpful. I will be calling them back again in the fall!

They were excellent. It went very well. I would recommend them. They came right away. They did the job. They did what they were supposed to do and didn't elaborate upon the situation to steer you into something. I think that they did a very good job. He could tell me in the future what I would need, what he thought that I would need. He said that it's not an emergency now but it was something that I would do and I thought that was helpful.

There was no work performed. I made an appointment for them to come to my house to inspect my chimney to see if it needed a cleaning.One of their people (a man) went into my cellar and up on my roof. He looked inside my chimney and said that it was an empty shell. He was trying to sell me some kind of insulation. He said that he would have to chop a part of my wall in the cellar to do the job. I didn't agree to the work. The man left me a lot of information to read. He wasn't pushy. but I do believe that he wanted to do this job. The proposed work was estimated at over 2,000.00.

The company contacted me immediately after I purchased the deal. They were able to come on 1 of the 3 days I suggested. They contacted me the day of service to tell me they would be there within 45 minutes and they were. I appreciated that very much. The men arrived and explained what they were going to do and proceeded to clean my dryer vent. They removed the vent from the dryer and cleaned it outside my house to protect my home from dirt and dust. They reattached my vent and also checked the outdoor vent. they cleaned that part too. I am extremely pleased with how professional they were. I would definitely recommend this company.

Chris and his worker arrived on time and immediately went to work. They did excellent work on each item listed for repair. They worked fast and the chimney now looks great.

Did a thorough cleaning of the chimney for my rental home. Tenants have no further issues with puff back or smoke in the house. The company also gave quotes for updating my chimney.

Overall it went very well. I thought the pricing on the chimney sweep was more than fair ($59). The dryer vent was pretty much clean, so they gave me a break on the price ($79 to $69). The expensive part was replacing the grill over the existing flap, which was $159. It did require a bit of labor, and they did a great job, but I was hoping to get it all done for a little cheaper. Having said that, I would definitely use them again.
