Fred's Chimney Magic

The company is one of the most responsive companies I have ever dealt with. From beginning to end, they show they want your business by keeping in touch with every little aspect to insure your satisfaction. I promptly received a response once the "big deal" was purchased from Annette. She is fantastic at keeping you up to date on every aspect. The day before, she called me to confirm a general time frame. The day of, she called and gave me more of an exact time of arrival. So did the team that came to do the work. they called me about 15 mins before they arrived. I was not available to be there, but my wife said only good things about them. I was unaware that a gas burning furnace required like no chimney maintenance (still better to be safe right?) so there wasn't much to clean. They could just have easily said it needs to be done yearly, but honesty is who they are. They did what they had to do, than suggested very nicely (not pushy what so ever) to my wife of some other services they provide. I may take them up on a couple things they offer, but am still undecided at this point. The day after, she called to make sure I was completely satisfied with the work. Thanks Annette! I highly recommend this company for any service they offer. I will most likely use them for one service or another in the near future.

We have not be didlignet in the up keep of our chimney. They relined it and pointed 2 other repairs and told me order of importance. I will have them take care of these issues as well.

The team was great. We just moved into our home we had hired them prior to inspect and clean our gutters. They removed all of the mess the previous owners left in the vents and chimney, as well as caught a problem with our heating system. It would have been horrible to have our system fail with the cold winter coming. Will definitely call on them again next year!!

The team was great. We just moved into our home and they gave us a detailed run down of the condition of our gutters and areas we should consider addressing before they cleaned all of the gunk the previous owners left behind. We were so happy with the service, we also hired them to come back for our vent and chimney work!!

With the exception that you need to pay for tax on the deals purchased online, everything else was great. They called to schedule accordingly. With a slight delay in the servicemen, which they made sure to update you about, the servicemen were knowledgeable and fast paced workers. They worked fast and efficiently. Price was comparable and fair to a DIY installation, if I factor in the need to climb a high ladder.

The company contacted me to make the appointment and this was done efficiently and well, with everything explained. The day of the appointment the technician was significantly delayed but I continued to get updated phone calls so I was never in the dark as to when he would arrive. I appreciated that. When he arrived and started the job he found lots of debris blocking the vent and showed me everything. It was an enormous fire hazard. I'm so happy I took advantage of this offer and made my home safer. Tom the technician knew his stuff and helped me make decisions about the other chimneys in my home. I'm very happy with the company all around.

They were very professional from scheduling the appointment to the servicemen that arrived to do the job. The supervisor, Chris and his assistant arrived promptly (called when they were on their way), did the job quickly and efficiently. Cleaned up after themselves when they were done - it was like they were never there. He spent a few minutes educating me about a flue liner, but no pressure to buy/make a decision. Left materials for me to do research at my leisure. Would use them again.

They were polite, neat, and on time. They didn’t leave any mess.

It was a positive experience. The men cleaned the chimney and did an overall inspection of my chimney and system and gave me the green light that all is well. Not like some other companies I know... These guys were honest upfront with me.

I received a call from the company the day before, telling me that Chris would show up the next morning. The next morning Chris called me to say he was on his way, with another worker. They arrived promptly and did a terrific job. The job was $79 plus the $6+ tax. I tipped. This is my third year, and next year will be my fourth. Reliable, courteous, and competent. They might recommend other jobs they perform, but I never felt pressured into that.

They company kept my informed as to the time that the crew would arrive . They were professional and cleaned up after they finished. I had an issue of a cracked brick on the outside chimney which was caused by their ladder which they repaired very quickly. They gave me the confidence and trust that I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others

I had to asked them to leave they came to do the job and they feel off the roof. I got a refund and went with someone else.

Chimney cleaning was performed as requested. Two man team, although one did the work, the other seemed more curious about identifying other work to upsell. May consider a different vendor for future needs.

Two people came to do the work, and it took about three hours They are very personable, on time, have a fare price, and they do a great job. They left the area perfect and cleaned up everything nicely. They explain everything up front.

Went well. They where done in 15 minutes and gave me status on my chimney and a $1200 estimate to modernize it

Setting up the initial appointment was quick and easy. Customer service was friendly and very accommodating. Tommy was very curteous and professional. He performed a basic dryer vent cleaning and gave me recommendations regarding future cleanings. I would definitely consider using this company again.

That went great. The workers that came by were very professional. There was nothing bad I'd say.

One more thing about these people. My roofer just pointed something out. Our vertical gutter needed cleaning. Fred's yanked it off to clean, breaking the strap securing it to the house. They never replaced this strap. I didn't notice it, but today our roofer did, and will replace it. They talked us into a $1,000 chimney liner, by giving us hand-outs with scare stories. Later, our plumber said we did not need the liners, because we had an older furnace, and the liners are only necessary with newer high-power furnaces. While installing the liner, they didn't exactly exude confidence. Ours is an older house with a steep roof. They seemed worried. Then, they splashed a thick brown substance on the back window, and didn't bother cleaning it off. I pointed it out. They just said it would clean off, and left. The stuff would not clean off. We called the office, and they sent the crew out again. They finally cleaned it off with razor blades. That winter we had a roof leak around the spot where they were working. I do not know if they were the cause, but feel it should be mentioned. Last year, we called them to clean our gutters, the young driver nearly ran over our backyard fence. That was rather scary. Then, while cleaning the gutters, the young guy lost control of the ladder, and it slammed hard against our neighbor's house. I have no idea if they did a good job cleaning the gutters.

The workers were very helpful in providing me with future information about my dry vent. Also telling me the timeframe that a dry should be clean.

On Wednesday August 13th Long Island New York, more specifically specifically my neighborhood of Nesconset received an all time record breaking 13 inches of rain in much less than 8 hours. Thankfully the very day before I had hired Fred's Chimney Magic to clean out my long neglected gutters that were closer resembling planter boxes. Mike from Fred's Chimney Magic did a fantastically quick and thourough job. I had no worries about the rain of the century at all. Thanks Mike and Fred's Chimney Magic. I will hire them again for sure.

The crew was punctual, professional, and fast. The arrived when they said they would. They quickly cleaned the front and rear gutters. They installed a plastic gutter guard on approx. 50ft of 2nd story rear gutters. After several heavy rains, including the 6 in on 8/13, no leaves or other debri in the rear gutters. I will be calling them back for some chimney work in the near future. Keep up the good work!

They were good. They were very knowledgeable as to what needed to be done. They were punctual. Their price was reasonable. The only thing that was upsetting to me was that when he drilled up from my basement, he drilled up into my wood floor in my kitchen. He did come back to remove the screw he put through and offered me some compensation, but the offer was disappointing. It's in a discrete location, but I know that it's there. It needs to be fixed. They only offered me a $50.00 compensation. I called them again because I smelt gas fumes coming from the flue and they told me to call the fire department. I told them I wasn't going to call the fire department and that they needed to come back to check it. I ended up calling our gas provider and they took care of it. He said he was going to come back and fix the floor, but he didn't even know if it was real wood or not, so I decided he was not the person to fix my floor. They were responsive but it was like pulling teeth.
