Fred's Chimney Magic

2nd time I've hired Fred's to clean our gutters. They do a good job.

This company is freaking awesome. They are pretty much the gold standard of all companies. Scheduling is always a piece of cake and often times they have time that very same day. The sweetheart who works the phone is very accommodating. I've used this company a bunch of times and it always goes exceptionally well at a great price. I've used them to clean out my chimney, install new liner, new crown and tarring, vent caps, and even just get advice about problems with my foundation. They are extremely honest, professional, and know their craft. Great company.

It turned out alright. This is my first time having a dryer cleaned here in New York, I've done it elsewhere. I did not follow him when he was going in and out the house which I usually do. I was distracted by a phone call. The one thing that I did not see him do was I thought that they were supposed to take a vacuum. They did clean the vent but to even vacuum out the inside of the dryer and that's what they didn't do. They have since called to follow-up. They told me all the other things that I do and see if there was anything else that I needed done but not at this moment.

The first appointment had to be postponed due to an unexpected prior lengthy job. I was notified promptly, and another appointment was made. I was informed when they were en route. The arrival was timely and they began immediately. The job was done well and professionally.

Chris arrived promptly. He understood the problem I was having immediately and explained what had to be done. He was articulate, personable and efficient. He fixed the problem in a timely manner. I would definitely hire him again.

They did what they were supposed to do and they were timely. The workers were very professional.

They replaced our old chimney cap with a stainless steel custom chase cover. The top of the original chase cap was galvanized and rusted through. There were holes in it and we were afraid of leaks or birds nesting in it. Company was very efficient and professional.

They showed up on time and the work was finished as promised. It looks beautiful- and who notices what a chimney looks like.

The company was very responsive and provided excellent service, above and beyond what they were expected to do. This is the second time we've used them them and would definitely use them again. I just recommended them to my sister because I know she would be happy with them. We purchased a coupon for $89 as a member of Angie's List and it was well worth it. This was during a time when I was especially stressed, dealing with terminal cancer, and even though they did not know that, they treated me with dignity and kindness that I did not expect, so there are really angels on Angie's List

Fast, courteous and knowledgeable.....Chris and Alonso showed up on time, and did their job in a very professional way. Also the ladies at the office did a good job keeping me up-to-date on the appointment date and time. Thank you

Mike and his crew made a total of four visits. The first was to inspect the chimney and fireplace and see if the restoration was possible. The second was to remove a blockage in the chimney. The third was to run a new 8" stainless steel flue (lifetime warranty) through the chimney and install a new chimney cap. On the last visit they installed the damper and rebuilt the fireplace, doing a beautiful herringbone pattern with the firebricks. They really did an excellent job. Mike is very professional and is always seems very capable. I'd trust him with about anything in my home. Him and his crew did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves and never left me with a mess. They didn't rush anything and made sure it was all quality work, done right. Even when the flue took longer than expected, they came back for an additional day to build the firebox and didn't charge me anything more than the estimate stated. I don't know much about the prices for fireplaces. I think supply and demand allows for it to be a little more expensive than it should be across the board, but Fred's Chimney Magic seemed to be fair. And they gave me a discount for being an Angie's List member. I just had the chance to spark up the fireplace for the first time last night. I opened the damper and threw on a couple logs. It works like a charm. No smoke in the house and a nice cozy fire to get me through the winter. It was a big investment, but not one I'll take for granted. I'm very thankful for these guys -- their work, their communication, and consideration. I'll definitely be using them again for all my chimney and dryer duct cleanings.

I found this here on Angie's List to come clean my chimney before the winter season and they did an awesome job. Keith gave me a quote on a stainless steel liner, as my chimney was breaking down from the inside and he came on time, was courteous and just an overall professional. Everyone at the company is very professional. Annette the office manager was also great with any questions I had! I would recommend.

Very well. Very punctual. I had to change the time of service the morning of scheduled date because of a family medical issue. They had no problem with it. They told me to call them when I was on my way home. They gave me a time that they would arrive, and DID! Very clean service.
