Description of Work: Nick is fabulous! He knows his business, explains options to you, looks for reasonable solutions, and is very professional. I used him twice in the past few weeks. First he replaced our outdoor spigot that started leaking after the deep freeze, and installed a cutoff ball valve for the spigot which never existed. He did such good work that I called him again within a week for some other plumbing problems that came up. He did all the work today, again doing an excellent job, and his prices were very reasonable. While I hope I don't have to do any more plumbing work in the near future, it's great to know that I can call Nick if I ever do need work done again. BTW, I also like the fact that he has a young apprentice learning the ropes from him - the young man couldn't have a better mentor! Thanks Nick!

Nick Gismondi came - on time- and had the issue resolved within a half hour. While here he explained an unusual issue with another toilet, and did a minor repair there. Nick is an honest man who knows plumbing well, and his price was reasonable! I will call him again. |Man |

Description of Work: Nick is excellent. Very fair and responsive. I have used him for various plumbing matters over the last several years. I have found him reliable without exception. He is neat and does great work. He is fairly priced for the work he performs.

Description of Work: Nick told me he could not do the plumbing job I was calling about because he was waiting to have knee surgery and the plumbing job required a lot of kneeling. I thought he was being so kind when he referred another plumber (Erik) but I wonder if he realized he actually threw me to the wolves. At first I thought the other plumber was OK but I quickly realized (after giving him a $850 deposit) that he was totally dishonest. He gave me an estimate of $1,750 to dig up the concrete, repair the leak, and fill in the trench, but after one of his plumbers came to test the pipes to pinpoint where the leak was coming from, he told me that the owner (Erik) wanted another $850. I called he owner and told him I was not going to give him anymore money since we agreed on half up front then the rest after the job was completed. Who in their right mind would pay for the whole job before it was completed? Plus his worker didn't even stay more than 4-5 hours that day. When the worker came back to expose the pipe in the concrete and "fix" the repair, the owner showed up and told me that it was another $1600 on top of the $1750 and in addition it would be at least another $850.00 or more to close up the trench in the concrete. I was so disgusted how this man kept increasing his price out of the blue. When I asked him how much the whole job is going to cost in the end, he wouldn't give me a straight answer. No matter what I asked him through this whole process, he wouldn't give me a direct answer. We asked him to leave the pipe so the insurance adjuster could examine it, but he wound up taking it with him. When I texted him the next day and asked where the pipe was, he responded "In a safe place". To tell you the truth, we saw the pipe in question and there were no leaks in it. Right now I still have an open trench in my kitchen floor because I will not allow this man back in my house and charge another outrageous amount that he just pulls out of his hat. I'm going to have my son come over and help me fill in the trench and fix the tiles. So, in closing, I just want to thank you, Nick, from A-1 Plumbing, for referring one of your so-called "colleagues". This was the most horrific experience I ever had with a repairman and I've been in my home for 42 years.

Description of Work: I had a leaky bathtub faucet - I ordered the parts from Kohler but wasn't able to install it properly. I contacted Nick at A-1 via Angie's list and he responded within a day. I set up an appointment over the phone, and he was there promptly and finished the job satisfactorily. I would definitely recommend his service.

Description of Work: I had water leaking from an upstairs bath tub through the ceiling downstairs. They diagnosed the problem quickly; it was a disintegrated overflow gasket that allowed water to leak past the drain, replaced the faulty gasket and solved the problem.
