Certified Home Inspections

The inspection and the process was exceptional -- and I choose that word because I can't think of a better one. I am new on Angie's List (this is my first experience) and I chose Certified Home Inspection primarily because of the excellent reviews. And the company lived up to the reviews and more. The owner, Mr. Esposito was honest, professional, and courteous with his time. He provided us with all the information about the potential home -- photos, descriptions of issues related to the house, and even estimated costs associated with issues identified that may need repair. The 58 page report, along with a summary offered insight regarding the structural integrity of the foundation, as well as electrical and plumbing, the interior and exterior and appliances too. In regards to timing -- Mr. Esposito was able to conduct the inspection within 48 hours of my initial call (unheard of folks!), and then even completed the report same day (double unheard of). The next day, he spent quality time answering questions about the report after we had a chance to review the document. For those who are looking for an excellent home inspection - please look no further than Mr. Esposito.

Dominick was very responsive & advised us what to expect. He arrived on time (actually a bit earlier, which was nice). He inspected the house thoroughly and walked us thru problem areas. He performed with complete professionalism and provided the report the very next day as promised. The report was well detailed with plenty of pictures. I would highly recommend him. Excellent job!

Dom has done two home inspections during my home purchase process. He arrived early both times. His visual inspection reports are very easy to read. He was clear on what was an issue vs what could wait. All in all he is very knowledgeable, available on short notice, and has good communication. Will definitely use again!

Dominick was better than excellent. He actually performed two home inspections for us and both were absolutely excellent. He always answers his phone, punctual and extremely thorough. If necessary he'll take hundreds of pictures and his reports are super easy to understand as he uses clear language, pictures and arrows. Unfortunately, we did not end up buying either of the house we performed inspections on so he'll probably hear from us again.

Dominick's services were superb. He was extremely thorough with the home inspection as was evidenced by the time he took and the extent of the inspection which ranged from the roof to the basement. He identified 5 items of concern which we brought to the owners attention for correction. His report was easy to understand and documented with numerous photos. The turn around time was approximately 24 hours. I could not be more pleased with his service!

The inspector did a great job! He was able to meet us on short notice and on a Sunday (which was very important to us since we both work). He pointed out some issues that were significant and needed to be addressed ASAP, and also minor ones that we might to fix down the road. He spent several hours at the house with us. The report was provided to us the very next day via email and was a very professional document with pictures and links, and many other details. We would recommend him again in a heartbeat! In fact, our real estate agent was so impressed with him, she asked us for his contact information so that she could recommend him to her other clients! Definitely hire Certified Home Inspections!!

I'd like to thank Dominick, he was very thorough with his inspection and made the rest of our work ahead very easy to navigate having his report at hand. His report turnaround time was very prompt. I would completely trust and recommend Dominick to perform a home inspection for anyone else in the future. Angie's List completely aided in rescuing my family from what could have been a very bad situation. Instead our very bad situation turned into a less than ideal situation and for that we are completely grateful. After the news of a relative passing in the winter of 2013 my family and I had inherited a home that had been in our family since the 1950's. The home was in rough shape but salvageable and structurally in good condition; however the closest family member was at least 2.5 hours away. I am happy to report that the home went on the market in the summer of 2013 and we just closed on the home December of 2013. They were punctual. It was a quick turnaround to get the actual inspection from the time it was inspected. They’re very thorough on the estimates provided. I really don't have a lot of experience on home inspection but their price was fair.

I was truly impressed with his overall performace. He was prompt, professional,and extremely thorough. Dominick, told me that he would deliver the report within 24 hours of completion, however, to my surprise he delivered it to me the same evening. Once again, I would highly reccomend his services.

Absolutely the most professional home inspection I have ever witnessed. Also, the price was very reasonable. We got there early and Mr. Esposito was already waiting for us to arrive. He inspected every detail of the home, including the outside landscaping and how it graded into the basement and the detached garage. He was thorough and polite and answered every question no matter how small. Unfortunately, we were not able to buy this home, but we will be looking into another property soon. We will most definitely use Mr. Esposito for that service as well.

During the inspection, Dominick was thorough and professional. He answered all my husband's questions and provided insights and tips throughout. The report arrived, via email, within 12 hours of the inspection and had a great deal of information. My husband and I consider the report our "bible" for maintaining and updating our soon to be home. The summary at the end of the report is now our "to do" list and thanks to Dominick we have been able to responsibly prioritize what needs to be done, before we move in and after. He did contact us a few days after the report arrived to say thank you and offered to answer any questions we may have going forward. As first time home buyers we did not know what to expect but Dominick and his report really put as at ease.

We contacted dominick after finding him on angieslist. He is everything you would want in a home inspector..patient, friendly, and punctual. He was able to work with our availabilities on short notice. During the inspection he was chatty and informative, pointing out suggestions and answering your questions. He also took pictures for the report as we went along the inspection. Since we had a late inspection into the evening, our report was sent to us after a day and a half, which was just fine with us. His report was detailed and informative and gave us confidence to move forth in our home purchase. We would definitely recommend his service and really liked that he was accessible even after the report was provided. He isn't out there to just make your money and ignore your questions if you had any after the inspection.

Everything was great. Dominic was easy to get hold of, easy to schedule with, showed up on time, was thorough in his inspection. Turned up some very helpful information for me both inside and outside of the apartment. Looked at roof and was able to tell me how old it was and how many times it had likely been re-done (contradicting what the realtors had told me about it). Got the report the same day. Definitely worth the money and very pleasant to deal with.

After we signed the contract to buy this one bedroom coop, we hired Dominick to do the inspection. Dominick arrived early and waited for us outside. Once we got inside, he was very efficient checking out everything and answered my questions. He confirmed that the apartment had no major issues but pointed out a few things that we should have fixed. We received a nice detailed report including photos within a day. The whole inspection was completed within 30 - 40 minutes. We knew that the building was built in 1945 and it's not perfect but we felt a lot more confident and comfortable to go through with the deal knowing that there's no major issues. We just had our closing last week and hired a contractor to do some remodelling work. The electrician that the contractor hired suggested to replace the whole electrical panel and install a bathroom exhaust fan. I contacted Dominick for his advice. He still remembered me and the apartment that he inspected. He gave us his honest and valuable advice. Some people would not bother to return your calls once they received your check but not Dominick. The inspection was done more than 3 months ago but he still took the time to answer my questions. This is a rare quality in today's world. I would highly recommend him.

Dominick arrived on time, was extremely professional and performed a very thorough inspection on the house. He found several areas needing attention that we would never have identified, and as a result of his comprehensive inspection we were able to negotiate a reduction on the sale price and some extra work to be executed by the seller (a construction company). Throughout the inspection Dominick kept a very open and helpful dialogue with us - I'm fairly handy but have no concept of the finer points of construction, and he explained everything to me in very clear laymans terms. He was more than happy to answer all of our questions, and was never condescending or dismissive about any of our queries or concerns etc. I would highly recommend Dominick to anyone needing a home inspection.

Dominick arrived early and was waiting for me by the time I got there. He inspected a single family home in Brooklyn. Initially at glance, the house seemed "some-what" OK to me when I first looked at it a few days ago. The house built in the 1890's and I know it needed "some work". But shortly after Dominick started performing the inspection, he found so many things that I overlooked. The roof needed work, there were leaks around the house, the basement and plumping needed work and there were termites/rotting in various areas of the house. It was great that he was able to find and document all these things because they could have come back to haunt me in the future. The house definitely needs work. Thanks to Dominick, I feel much more comfortable with the property I will be buying and future plans for it. The inspection full report was provided within a day. It was very detailed with notes and photos. I was very satisfied with the inspection and the final report. He tells it like is and would recommend him to anyone. Very friendly as well.

He was there a few minutes before me, walked over the entire exterior property before even entering the home. Pointed out how the pitch of the ground at the front of the house was probably exacerbating moisture issues in the basement. Found areas of the roof and one of the chimneys in need of repair. Inside, found mold in the basement and attic; a wasp's colony in the attic (!), etc. etc. Identified plumbing that needed to be repaired. A day or so after the inspection, he issued a very detailed 5-pp report with photos and comments outlining everything he found. What I found really impressive was that halfway through the inspection, when he found the mold which I said was a deal-killer for me, he offered to end the inspection at that point and charge me less. I decided to proceed for the full price, because I walked away with excellent information that will enable me to eyeball things in future prior to even having an inspection. I recommend this company highly and plan to use them again in very near future.

Excellent service and thorough report. Fit me into his schedule on very short notice. Came to inspect the interior of a co-op unit and tested everything, taking pictures and annotating the report with information of not only things that needed to be repaired but with information on the age and quality of fixtures, appliances and renovations. Spent time explaining various aspects of his findings. I would highlight recommend Dominick.

We decided to use Dominick based on the good reviews from Angie's List. We called Dominick and setup the appointment a few days later. Dominick arrived early and was already inspecting the outside of the house. He pointed out a lot of things that needed to be fixed immediately and in the near future - new siding, possible water damage, termite damage, etc. He explained throughly what his concerns were and helped us immensely with our decision of not buying the house. After the inspection, he emailed us a very detailed report, over 50 pgs, of his findings and things that needed to be fixed. You can check out on his website for a sampled report. We were very happy with his work that we hired Dominick for our 2nd inspection on another house. The inspection went well - minor issues - and he gave us another detailed report the same day since we were in a time crunch. We are now in the process of closing on the house and we may use Dominick again, for the 3rd time, for our final walk-through. Dominick has all the qualities of the sincere and honest business man who knows what he is doing. I needed to get the inspection done immediately as we wanted to close the deal soon. After reading the reviews on Angies list, I was going through the inspectors and asking them if they could fit me in their schedule. Dominick was able to put me in his busy schedule and arrived 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time. He spent a lot of time doing the inspection on the outside of the house. He went step by step and also kept explaining the things as he went along. He told us what can be done at a later stage, what should be done before we move into the house, what should be right after we move into the house, etc. He went on the roof also and inspected all the skylights, roof, chimneys. After inspecting the outside very carefully, he went inside and looked very carefully at all the areas of the house. He spotted one major structural issue with the house which was not easy to catch by the naked eye. He even gave recommendations on how to fix it and guesstimate of the costs involved. Overall, I would say that I am very pleased by the services provided by Dominick and would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. I would use him again if the deal on this house does not go through. Thanks Dominick.

Dominick Esposito is everything you look for in an honest and knowledgeable Home Inspector. He arrived to the site 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. He was punctual and courteous. He got to work one minute after we introduced ourselves. He examined every nook and crany of the home from the yard to the basement to the roof. All plumbing and electrical outlets were tested and analyzed. Every door was opened and every window was checked. He allowed us to move every step of the way with him and explained every item that we questioned or that he needed to point out to us. In the pass we have worked with his father John Esposito and were so impressed by his work, that taking the same chance with Dominick was well worth it. I felt confident with the information he provided and will be purchasing this home knowing that the expertise of his work has assured me that my family is walking into a safe and secure investment. If you are looking for top of the line quality.......with Dominick is the way to go.

Overall the inspection took about an hour and a half. Dominick was professional and patient. I asked many questions.

Overall Dominck spent over 2 hours going through the house and some sections twice to ensure any concerns we had were answered and everything was up to his standard.

I decided to go with Dominick because of his high ratings and reasonable price. Dominick arrived on time and displayed totaled professionalism throughout the inspection. If you are a first time home buyer, having an inspector with his knowledge and experience makes a huge difference in giving one the confidence needed to make an educated choice in the purchase of a home. Even the listing agent with 30 years of experience in real estate was thoroughly satisfied with Dominick's services and asked for a business card to refer Dominick to other potential buyers.
