When we woke up yesterday, the house was cold. The furnace appeared to be working but the temperature would not go above 58. It was a holiday so we bought a space heater and decided to wait until today to see if we needed to call someone in. The house was still cold this morning. I called Gallettair after reading reviews on Angie's List. Katie, who answered the phone, was pleasant. When I explained the problem to her she said she wanted to have someone come over today if we were available. I agreed. Not only did she give me the price for the consultation, she gave me the cost per hour of labor should it be required and notified me that parts would be an additional cost. She did not try to sell me anything, which I appreciated. She was just making me aware. Usually companies get to your home perform the service and then try to tell you it will cost you more than you had expected so I appreciate how up front they were. I was told someone would be here after 12 noon (It was 10am at the time.) I told here I would be here and they could come any time. She called back around 20 minutes later and told me she had a technician on the way. Paul, out technician, was fantastic. He looked at the furnace and our entire heating system. He didn't just tell us what was wrong, he explain it to us. Turns out our furnace is fine. When the previous homeowners did renovations (we just bought the house) it appears that they did some plumbing work themselves and, although it wasn't done wrong, it was not done the best way and it was causing the pipes to have trouble circulating the water throughout the house when the temperatures drop very low. (It was 1 degree yesterday). Not only did he not try and sell us anything, he didn't charge us for the visit because he felt that he didn't' do anything and it wouldn't be fair to charge us. We disagree with his assessment. He did plenty! When we are ready to have our furnace services, we will be calling Gallettair and we will be getting a service contract. We are beyond satisfied with this company. This is a company that gets loyalty and customer lifetime value. We highly recommend them!

We have been using GallettAir, Inc. for the past 5 years and are most pleased with the service we've rec eived. They always respond promptly to our calls no matter what time of day, night or day of the week. All servicemen have always been on time, are very knowledgeable and competent. Recently, on 10/03/15, when temperatures were in the 50s and we could not start our boiler, Carmine and one of his technicians, Paul, came rather quickly (in spite of many calls on that cold day) and repaired the problem. They spent a good deal of time completing the job, were both most pleasant as well as very skilled and efficient. We highly recommend them.

No call received so I called the next day and was told that Tommy was on the road but he had a cost for me and it was $425 and that was with a discount. This is more then I will pay to my current provider. Very disappointing. They talk a good case, but if I can't bank on their word before I lay out money how could I be comfortable they will perform as stated after they are paid. I had great hopes for a relationship, but can't take the chance. I will be needing a new central air conditioning unit in the near future, but can no longer consider this company.
Description of Work: After using them on June 12,2015 for my A/C I wrote a review about their service and considered using them for my heating/hot water service contract. The owner responded to my posting that when I contact his office for a service agreement I should ask for him and that he would handle my account personally and offer a discount. I call on Oct 6 and was advised that he was sending his nephew to look at my equipment. Tommy arrived and after his inspection he said he would speak to his uncle and get back to me in the afternoon with a price.

Regarding this review. For personal reasons I was unable to report to this customers home. I sent a managing service technician who has been employed by GallettAir for 15 years a fine gentleman and seasoned technician who is fully capable of estimating costs , to this customers home to perform an evaluation and to write a field report. After reviewing the report pertaining to the heating system in his home, we calculated a price, that did in fact include discussed discounts. The customer was informed at the time of the evaluation that we would be back to him in a day or two. It's quite obvious that this customer is not satisfied with our pricing. There are many things that must be taken into consideration such as year, make and condition of system. Company response, company reputation, quality of workmanship and dependability. I know that this customer is currently using a Nationally Operated Company that does not respond after 8 pm regardless of the emergency after 8pm you wait until the next day. we respond 24/7 weekends and holidays included at no additional. We are in fact very competitive and he was given a more than fair price for the system in his home. This is what we do and have been for 32 years.Quality and professionalism does come at a cost. As we all know you get what you pay for. Especially in the service industry. I'm sorry we could not meet this persons expectations however in spite of the F and D ratings I invite this customer to visit my office sit and speak to me personally regarding his system and our pricing. Of course my central air conditioning unit shut down during one of the hotest days of the year. The unit was serviced years before for the first time. So not having an HVAC company I checked Angies List and read the customer comments for Gallttair, which were outstanding, and gave them a call. Because it was a hot day, and a Monday, when the young lady who answered my call said she could have someone there the next day I understood and said okay. Twenty minutes later she called back and said she spoke with her Manager and they were able to have someone at my house that day, that was a relief! The technician arrived about 4:30PM, he was sent to me after he did a job in Queens or Brooklyn, I do not remember which, to my house in Bridgehampton Long Island! Talk about going above and beyond, and he arrived in a great mood! The gentlemans name was Paulie, within 15 minutes he found that my capasitor (?) had burned out causing my fan motor to do the same. No problem, he had both replacement units on his truck, talk about well equipt! Paulie had no idea what my air conditioner unit was before coming to my house, yet he had the parts on hand. No "I have to come back", no "I have to see where i can get the parts" he had them, outstanding! And again within a half hour, both units were changed, including suppling new wiring, the unit was up and running. Paulie was friendly, professional and neat, it was a pleasure to have someone so knowledgeable working on the unit. Nothing was a problem to Paulie, he was never surprised or wasn't sure, like I said, a professional. I cannot thank Gallettair enough for bailing me out on such a hot day, and if Paulie is an example of the people they hire, then kudos to the owners for having such wonderful people on their staff. If you are in need of a heating and cooling speacilist, look no further, Gallettair is everything everybody says about them and more! I highly reccomend them. Great Job Guy's! Thanks again!

Salesperson Michael Fuller came to my house for an estimate for a new hot air heating system and central air. Almost right away, before even looking around or understanding the system I have, he loudly states, "You can't have air conditioning because there is no return in the 2nd floor hall." I am surprised because each of the 3 bedrooms has a return and I already had an estimate for heating and air from another provider. I continue to show him around and finally he says, "Well, maybe it could work" as I show him the attic and closets where a possible return could be placed. Then he says "I have to take some measurements" and spends around 15 minutes measuring. Then he says, "I have to review this at the office and then come back before I can give you an estimate." More than a week later, after I posted a review on Angie's List, someone called me back to say they believe my house is unsuitable for central air.

We were in in fact working on a system sizing calculation and manual J for this customers home. Due to the age of his home which was built in (1955) along with the antiquated duct design, we were trying to determine if we would even consider installing air conditioning on the existing air duct system, and how we could make it work if we did. We were there for a free evaluation on August 18 and measured the home. This customers post was on August 25. Professional sizing calculations are time consuming and would cost upwards of $500, if we were to charge for them. Waiting a week for the for a professional sizing and calculation packet is not out of the ordinary or unheard of. What this person may not realize is that sizing of a home is not cut and dry, and should not be guesswork. Once the system is installed it must work correctly and efficiently. This customers home sized out to 4 tons 48,000 btu, determining that the existing air duct system is too small to provide adequate air flow. The duct system is also leaky, antiquated and un-insulated. Because of these reasons we cannot perform this job. If the only customer took the time to call instead of posting an undeserved (F), he would have known that we were working free for him and that all of the information stated here was in fact mailed to his home explaining our findings. Water was leaking from the unit in my attic so I called Gallettair. They told me upfront that the initial charge to come out was 180$ for diagnosis. I agreed and a technician was at my house 2 days later within the time frame they said. To my very pleasant surprise he said the part I needed should be under manufactures warranty so he took down the serial numbers and said he would call next day and let me know. I ended up calling the next day (squeaky wheel gets the oil) he told me it was covered and that he had taken the liberty of placing the order because there was no charge to me. He told me it should only cost one additional hour labor fee so we set up the appointment for repair. 2 days later the guys came and repaired the unit. I am VERY HAPPY with Gallettair! I feel like they were honest they came on time they were friendly and most important they didn?t charge me a fortune! I would definitely use them again and I would definitely recommend them.

I called on a Monday when we'd had a series of 90+ degree days and humidity. They offered to come earlier in the week but I couldn't take off from work until Friday a.m. So they came then. Mike came, neat pleasant attentive and professional. He went about what he had to do after I showed him the systems. He reset the pressures outside so that now each of the 3 units blows cold air, set them to the temperature we like, cleaned filters and checked freon in the central air. He was efficient, polite and everything is working. I highly recommend them and will use them again next summer to check out the system and in a heartbeat. for any problems/replacement.
Description of Work: We have a strange system upstairs of 3 separate Samsung wall units connected to an outside unit (? compressor) and a separate system of central air on the first floor. with a separate outside unit None of the upstairs units was blowing cold air and we were baking in the upstairs rooms. He fixed each of the upstairs units so they are nice and cold and checked out the downstairs central air unit as well.

Project went perfectly.This was my second project with GallettAir.Like the first this project went perfectly. Kyle, Mike B jr and Chris arrived punctually at 9am. They worked non stop until the job was completed at 5pm. The install was highly professional and the units are working at 100%. The work areas were left cleaner than they were before they arrived. All debris was removed. the crew was a pleasure to have woking in my house. Special thanks again to Mike Fuller for his guidance and help.

It wen very very well and he fixed the problem very quickly. He knew exactly what was wrong and was extreemly professional. After he was finished he gave me a bill and a discount for using Angie's List. Then he refused to accept the tip I offered him and just asked for a good review!!!!!!! My expectations were greatly exceeded and I am so pleased!!! Absolutely terrific!!!!

He came in a short time and Paul went into the attic to assess the problem. He stopped the leak and we had service within an hour. Great! John was excellent and took the time to explain the problem. He was concerned about the wood floors where the unit was so even did the motor part change outside and then installed. He checked to make sure the system was running well before he left. Very professional and also, when I asked for service, got phone call the same night. Would definitely recommend.

We had a problem with the system and called on a weekend. We were called back within a reasonable amount of time by the oncall technician and went over the issue. Since it wasn't an emergency situation, we opted to call and schedule a weekday appointment which carried a lower service call fee. The technician ,Matt, arrived when expected and looked at the system. He told us right away that he'd need help to take care of the problem and would try to get back later today. Within a couple of hours, Matt and another technician were back and had the issue resolved in a very short time. Matt made sure everything was operational and the thermostat programmed the way we wanted before he left. They A/C system was inspected while they were here so we know we're ready for the summer!

Given that my previous appointment did not go as smoothly as it could have, Mr. Galleta (the owner) made it a point to stop by my home himself to see what was going on with my central AC and see if he could get me up and running. Not only did he get me up and running, but he gave me a complete refund for the previous service call! We are all human, so mistakes will occur, but its nice to deal with someone who owns their mistakes and goes out of their way to make a previous wrong right. Carmine found leaks in my outdoor unit and observed the disintegration in the coils that the previous technician also noted. He adjusted the refrigerant levels in my unit (added 7 lbs of FREON @ $95/lb) , added 1 can of super seal advanced leak and VOILA cool air started flowing through my home! He did warn me that there was no guarantee as to how long the super seal would last, and that it could be a month or two seasons, but reassured me that he would be happy to come back if I experienced any additional issues. All and all I can say that Carmine is an upstanding business man. He was very professional and made sure he reviewed all of the issues he found with my system and gave me a run down of everything he'd done while he was here. Again, he was here for over 2 hours and did all of the work at no charge! When the owner of a company has this much integrity the people that work for him can't help but reflect some of his qualities. I'm hoping the super seal lasts as long as possible, but if it doesn't... I'll have Gallet Air on speed dial!

I have an existing service contract on a Heating/AC Carrier system they installed in 2010. Back then there were issues, and I came close to terminating the installation then but only the professionalism and kindness of one of their more mature employees kept me from doing so. Some of their crew back then had attitudes that should have warned me not to go with them on a service contract. I called to have a tech come in to address certain concerns I had with the A/C system. I took the trouble of writing out my concerns to make things go more rapidly and smoothly (So I thought!). The tech shows up on time (even early by agreement). He is cold as ice and, sullen. Look, I don't expect "High Fives" or jolliness from service technicians but I do expect professionalism and common courtesy . He can barely force himself to read what I wrote. I get the clear impression from this company that they sometimes sit in judgment on their customers and the attitude is transmitted to the employees. Some customers are categorized in a negative way, and treated accordingly. In as much as I am a non-aggressive, non-confrontational senior citizen, I'm certainly not the typical "problem" customer and do not deserve rude treatment. The inspection of my system was brief and my issues were partly addressed. I will not be renewing my contract and I suspect that is what they wanted anyway. Update as of 06/22/2015. After conferring with a representative of the company I received their explanation and their expression of concern for my satisfaction. They promised that no discourtesy was intended, and I'm withdrawing my comment concerning alleged company policy. They assured me there is no such policy and I have agreed to modify the comment to reflect that. The representative took care of my remaining issue while here, and indicated that customer relations is important to them.

Very unprofessional. I stayed home ALL day for the technician. At 4 PM I called to find out where he was. I was told he would still be there before 5PM. Then at 4:50 I received a call that he is running a little late and would be there shortly after 5PM. At 7PM the technician still had not shown up and I finally left the house for the first time all day. The technician apparently came and first rang the bell at 7:25 pm. Do not believe these high reviews - Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. After scheduling an OVER priced service call, AND confirming the appointment twice AND staying home all day AND technician being a no show, I did NOT receive any proactive communication, without me calling first. BIG DISAPPOINTING "F".

Even though their service appointment price is double that of most other AC HVAC companies, I agreed given their high reviews and needed someone quickly. Regarding this post (We Did) arrive late, However, the customer (Was Called) and informed the technician was running behind. He was also informed we would still come to the home if they would accept us, as we work until we are finished (the customer accepted.) The Service Technician arrived at 7:25 pm, and was informed by the (Housekeeper) that the homeowner had left so she could not let the tech in the home. The Tech left the home and no work was performed, and the customer (was not) charged for the call. With temperatures in the mid to high 80's with extremely high humidity, we experienced a high influx of service calls. Each day we work extremely hard be certain that we stay on schedule, while keeping our customers informed on how the technicians are moving along on their calls. We do understand and agree with this customers frustration, and we apologize for any inconvenience. But by by the same token, It's important that customers realize that (each call is different) and not all calls are a simple in and our fix. Some service calls take much longer than others, and then there is also is the trip time factor going from call to call with traffic. In this case, and contrary to the customers post (We Were Proactive) and (We Did) our best to keep the customer informed. The customer could have called and cancelled the service call instead of letting a truck and tech arrive only to be turned away further delaying the schedule for other customers. Fact; We are only human and not machines. There are many high risk potential injury factors that the technicians contend with each day, and its dangerous for them to rush through and to calls. Unfortunately, some people refuse to understand the (Human Factor) of the person performing service. In this world of instant gratification, we tend to forget that there is a human being diagnosing and performing the repair. Called them in the evening when our central air stopped cooling. I was told by an answering service that someone would contact me in a while or by the next morning. within an hour I received a call back and was asked to describe our problem. I was told that someone would be out the next day between 8am & 2pm. However, I received a call 45 minutes latter and was asked if I was available for a service call at this time and I said yes, 15 mins. later Matt & Mike showed up and within a 1/2 hour had replaced a blown condenser and added 2 lbs of Freon to the unit. Freon very expensive because of gov't rules an was almost half the bill. Matt and mike were great and I would gladly recommend this company. Quality service is worth any extra costs. I will be looking into purchasing their service contract not only for the a/c but for our heating and hot water.

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience with our company. Yes refrigerant 22 is quite expensive, the EPA has mandated a complete phase out of R-22 by 2020. With every passing year the cost of refrigerant 22 increases dramatically, this is why we have been recommending the replacement, rather than the repair of older systems that use R-22 refrigerant. I just recently moved to Long Island I bought a cape style home. I was told by so many people central AC is virtually impossible in a cape style home. Well not for GallettAir and his staff. They are miracle workers and just awesome at what they do. I am happy to say I currently have central ac in my home and I am sooo delighted. My experience from my first phone call to arrange an appointment for a quote to the very last installer leaving my home on installation day was an absolute pleasure. Carmine is wonderful when you speak to him it is like speaking to a friend or family member you can tell he truly cares for his customers and their happiness and satisfaction. I was very anxious and nervous having a new home and that it would be turned upside down during installation. Carmine came first thing in the morning and introduced me to the crew and walked me thru the process of exactly what would be happening step by step. Every surface in my home was covered and protected, John and his crew were so respectful of myself and my home. The job they did was unbelievable. They cleaned up everything and left my house spotless to the point you wouldn't even think anyone had even been there. I received a follow up phone call from Carmine to make sure I was happy and boy am I ever!!! Mike came out to walk me thru the system and answered any questions I had. I could go on and on but the bottom line is if you own a cape style home or any home and want central AC GallettAir is your man!!! I have since recommended GallettAir to my mom and sister . I would recommend this company to anyone needing central air-conditioning, you will be impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and genuine caring of Carmine and his staff. He came out and informed me he didn't have the parts for a repair and I'd have to call for an estimate. He quoted me a very high price to replace a $18.99 part. I ended up using a different company for the job.

They were really really good. It is the only one that gave 10 year warranty which by the way having had my roof done, they kind of messed up something and these guys were like all over it because their warranty covered it. They are wonderful. Their pricing was right in the middle. They weren't cheap. They weren't expensive, but their warranty was better than anybody else by a lot. The guys were in and out in one day. The advantage that they had was we were ripping out walls and changing things so they had a lot of advantage in terms of positioning of ventilation and things like that. I have additional work done in one of the room upstairs and we had to move one of the vents it is probably after year and a half after the installation they came here and did it for nothing. They moved it from one part of the room to the other. They were amazing. They were installed the thing and it was up and running the same day. I would recommend them million times over.
Description of Work: We did in Central Air in 2011 and we used company called GallettAir. They installed it in September because it is end of season they didn't start 10 year warranty and they didn't started running until since the following April or May.

First let me start off by saying my attic is small very small. When Carmine showed up for an estimate he didn't say anything other than we can do this. I was shocked because of how small and very pleased. What blew me away was how clean Carmine was in doing his walk around. After that, I knew I was going to hire him. We scheduled for the work to be done on April 13th and at every step someone from his office called me to inform me of the rebates and to even see if I wanted them to come earlier than scheduled date ( I would have loved to have taken them up on the earlier date but I couldn't as my electrician already confirmed for April 13th). When the crew arrived they went quickly to work. JD/Kyle/Tom S and other were great. Cleaned up as they went; always kept me in the loop. The job took well past 6pm but they finished everything and when they were done you couldn't even tell someone was working. I even made a comment that they were cleaner than most general contractors. I would highly recommend Gallettair to anyone. Thank you so much to you all for the service you provided me. I can't wait to start using the unit.

Last night around 7PM we discovered we didn't have heat. The gas furnace wasn't kicking in. I tried a few basic troubleshooting things myself to no avail. We had a small electric heater that got us through the night. This morning at 8am, we called another company to come fix our heat problem. Whomever answered the phone said they'll contact the service team with my details and they'll call me back soon. I waited an hour, never heard from them, so I called back. Was told the service team was still listening to messages from the weekend, but assured me they would contact me soon. Waited another hour, still nothing. How many messages does one get over the weekend that it takes more than 2 hours to even talk to me? I got fed up and called GallettAir instead. They should have been my first call. I was promptly connected to a lady who not only took my details and was really pleasant on the phone, but I was assured they would have someone at my house before 5pm. Remarkably, Matthew was at our door within 30 mins. I explained what was happening, he went to the furnace and looked it over. Realized from the error codes it was related to the thermostat, the furnace wasn't getting a signal. He swapped out the broken thermostat and everything since. He even cleaned a few items since he was inside the furnace. These guys and gals were awesome, and came though when we needed them most. We were so impressed with their service and professionalism that we even singed up for a yearly service contract.
