Description of Work: I called this company for an estimate for a new ductless split A/C system for my home. A representative came to my home and stated that I needed a system that would cost approx. $16,000. I had several previous estimates that were for half that price for better equipment. The estimator stated that he would check on another unit and get back to me with estimates. H never called back and never submitted any new information.

Unfortunately we cannot always meet everyones price point or budget. However, contrary to the customers post of us being high priced, we feel that our pricing is competitive with other companies in our industry or we would not be in business for 30 + years in a very competitive industry. The Carrier/ Tempstar and Fujitsu brands of equipment that we offer on our estimates are superior well known in our industry. At times -- the application of equipment along with installation procedures, efficiency and (code requirements) such as insulation factors of the duct system, can be a factor into the costs that are quoted in an estimate. It's clear that the system we offered was out of the budgeted amount the customer intended to spend, this does not make us a bad company or our equipment inferior. Regarding the customer statements of us not getting back with a price, I will look into the claim and address it if deemed factual and necessary. It's unfortunate that we could not meet this customers budget and expectations. I invite this member to contact me at 1-800-427-2653 ,so that we can compare apples to apples. As consumers, We all want the best bang for buck, but we all know that a low pricer or higher price, does not necessarily determine the quality of the equipment, because there are many other factors that determine pricing, such as labor, permits and energy efficiency code required related materials. Description of Work: no cost estimate; charge service call the moment they show up, unless you have service contract - bad practice; indicating there are too busy to just give you a quote. Been a customer for over 10 years, still don't get courtesy treatment, so disappointed. The technicians are great. The customer service is an F.

We have not performed service on this customers home since August 2015. Their service contract has since expired. To date we have no record of any complaints regarding unsatisfactory customer service or pricing concerns. We attempted to contact the customer by telephone for clarity regarding his statements. We are always willing to discuss and address his concerns however, if there is no dialog, we cannot confirm, help with or rectify this customers concern. Description of Work: Corrected one error made by the originally installer of a new system but then came up with complex solutions and finally recommended replacing the entire system at a cost of an additional $8000. I called in another Angie's List recommendation ECM who discovered it was a manufacturers defect with an easy remedy for very little money. I spent thousands of dollars with Galettair unnecessarily. **UPDATE: I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY THE COMPANY AND WE HAVE WORKED OUT OUR DIFFERENCES.**

After researching the members claims it was determined that all the repairs that were made are valid and necessary.The cause initial cause of system failure was that the (liquid line filter drier) was installed backwards by the (Original Installer) in turn contaminating the sealed system. As per the (customers request) because the system was fairly new, we attempted to repair it. After determining that the contamination could not be contained and stopping short of replacing another component part, we recommended replacement of the entire system. We did in fact offer the customer a (Total Credit ) of the amount he paid for the repairs, toward a new system) making the price of the new system approximately $5,000 not the $11,000 as stated. Rather than take our advice the customer chose to call another company. According to the information provided by the customer, the (Other Company) replaced yet another part (Expansion Valve) and installed an additive and performed a few more services to the existing system for an additional $1,200. We want to state that the parts which we installed are being utilized in the system and are functioning correctly. Because the system is so contaminated, its our expert opinion that (it will fail again) next cooling season. Although we did nothing wrong, In the spirit of good business, (We offered the customer a (full credit) toward a new system if purchased from us for the 2016 cooling season.) The sealed refrigeration system is totally contaminated with filter dryer (Desiccant) that is circulating through the system. Its only a matter of time until it fails again.
