Our CAC system was not working when we initially turned it on for the first time late June. We had two big name repair companies out. Sears walked away and would not even look at it because the Carrier was about 40 years old and rusted out on the bottom. By the way, it has been rusted out for years and turns on every year no problem.Another gave a hefty price to repair and incorrectly diagnosed. So on we went to get estimates for a new system. We had 1 or 2, almost went ahead with the wrong system and company. I signed on to Angie's List actually to check on a company who seemed to have a review. I thought hard and long about spending money for this type of service, but decided to take a year with Angie. I checked on the reviews; satisfied my inner feeling and then proceeded to check out other companies. I saw Gallett Air high on the list so I called them for an estimate and they told me I had to wait two weeks. I then scheduled two other companies that same day, but I really wanted to see what Gallet Air had to say. I actually called back and said that I couldn't really wait two weeks for an estimate and then another two weeks to get a system installed. I thought I really wanted to hear what Gallett Air had to say especially because of the high ratings and wonderful reviews. When she realized I already had a CAC system that was not working she got me in 2 days later. I didn't understand why that mattered (I hadn't mentioned the system not running because I got tired of telling companies that my system was not working and that I was looking for an estimate on a new one). The girls that answer the phone are also very helpful and aim to please. Anyhow, Carmine arrived! I expected him to give me an estimate on a new system and he went to look at my current system as other companies had that I called in for an estimate on a new system, but he went to work on repairing it, said he would take care of it and did just that, replacing a missing part and adding needed freon. He got this old CAC system up and running and spent his time on it; I was shocked when Carmine said, NO CHARGE! I was also thrilled with this wonderful cold air coming out of my vents.! He left me with an estimate, all his licensing information without asking; left me several certifications and many letters from customers, then mentioned if we ran out of freon this summer he would come back and give us more. WHO DOES THIS?!

This was a great experience. I bought my house a year ago. It is an older house, and the central air system looks to be nearly as old as the house. When it stopped running, I went to Angie's List, found that Gallettair was nearby, that they were highly rated and well-reviewed, and I gave them a call. They told me a technician would be out to my house between noon and five the next day. The next afternoon, their office called to let me know they were running late due to a high volume of emergency calls, but they assured me their technician would get to me. I thought this was really courteous, but it turned out that the technician, Matt, got here by 3 anyway. I can't tell you how old and decrepit my central air system is. I think Jimmy Carter was president when it was installed. But Matt worked with my dotty, old system patiently and thoroughly. He was a complete professional. After looking at my A/C system, pump and compressor he explained to me what the problem was (and what it wasn't), and what he thought would be the best and most economical way to address it. Then he fixed it quickly, efficiently and for remarkably little money. With 100 degree temperatures expected tomorrow, I can't tell you what a relief it is to have my A/C back. I am definitely going to use Gallettair again - most probably for a new central air system sometime in the near future.

Arrived in the time slot agreed, with a preliminary call from the office; Paul and a young help. Very courteous, competent, and fast:. Paul's first estimate was ~ 7 lbs of the coolant needed. At the end, he said that just 4 lbs was in fact added. Very good impression.

Let me start off by saying i'm a type A personality and as such i'm usually disappointed with contractors and their work. I spend hours researching products and trying to find the "right" people who not only present as honest and ethical, but who follow through with right action. Thus, after hours on Angies List and interviewing five different AC companies, I felt really good about GallettAir Inc.. Carmine, the owner of the co., engendered a feeling of trust from that first intake. He spent hours exploring different units, answering my many questions and writing up lengthy proposals, so I had a concrete read-out of the different models. I went with the Carrier two stage performance model. Felt very comfortable with my decision. On the day of installation a team came with Carmine present (impressive). They were incredible in their workmanship and very respectful of my house. They laid down all kinds of coverings to protect the floors. At the end of the day you would not have known that two teams of men worked in this house. When they left, after about 7 hours, my quiet air conditioner was up and running.This was truly a WOW experience. I also love that Carmine has a generous heart and has at times done work pro bono. In that spirit I believe you become a magnet, attracting just the right people.He's amazing! I recommend him. Hope you have the grace to find your way to his company if you ever have a need for this type of work.

I would highly recommend Gallettair. Matt was very professional and polite. He tuned up both a/c units, resolved some drainage issues, added coolant to one and checked all the ducts during the visit. After he was finished he explained all he did, showed me things to look for to make sure my system runs well and wrote it all down so I wouldn't forget :).I was very happy with the service. The lady who booked the appointment was polite and Matt arrived on time, no waiting around. I will definitely be using Gallettair again when I need to service the a/c.

Contacted Gallett after multiple bad experiences with a local provider. I needed 2 ducts replacing but other providers spent more time trying to sell new system than fix problem. Mike turned up with the parts needed, fixed the ducts for us and provided an estimate for a replacement system at my request. The work was done and the system is working so much better. While we may not replace the whole system right now, we will definitely contact them when we do decide to proceed. Also , they were very good at keeping me updated in respect of when they would be arriving which allowed me to get a couple of errands done

Gallettair came through again! I thought my central air was not working -- Carmine came and showed me how I did not understand the system -- he made some adjustments to the thermostat which was a huge help! Carmine Galletta (owner) came out to give me an estimate. Unlike every other AC company I had come out, Carmine spent well over an hour going through everything with me (after looking at my old systems) including the price. Carmine was the only contractor that actually gave me a price the day he came to look at everything. During the estimate "meeting", I expressed several concerns (e.g. damper system, amount of work to be completed in one day) and Carmine assured me that if I wasn't happy with the way the damper system performed, he would keep coming back until I was and he reiterated that my 20 year old system doesn't compare to the current damper systems. Well, Carmine was right, the system is GREAT. His employees are professionals, extremely neat and answered every question I had during the day. All the work was completed in one day (to my amazement and Carmine's assurance). At one point there were 5 Gallett Air trucks at my house with 8 people; it was amazing. As far as neatness, when my wife came home her first comment was "I thought you were having the AC done today". The only way you were able to tell that Gallett Air was in my home was the new thermostat on the wall, and of course a great working AC. After the job was complete, I received a call and a letter making sure I was satisfied and to contact them if I had any problems or questions. Very professional. I highly recommend Gallett Air.

Visited by company owner Carmine Galletta who, upon thorough inspection of work to be done, provided detailed work order estimate and date for work to be completed. His very professional, CLEAN and knowledgeable technicians arrived on time and completed the work to the highest standards. This was the absolute best experience I have had with a contractor! Highly, highly recommend GallettAir to others who are considering the hire of a HVAC company!

Thermostat for central air system stopped working. I called this company and made an appointment for next day. They called later that afternoon to confirm the appointment. They were supposed to come between 2pm and 5pm, but said they cannot guarantee that it was going to be before 5pm-which I understand, when you think about how they are going from house to house, fixing one air conditioner at a time.. I am sure some repair takes very long. On the appointment day, the guy showed up at my door at 4:30pm. The reason why my thermostat was not working anymore was ... low battery. I am embarrased to write this, but I didn't know. He didn't charge anything for this. He had to drive to my house anyway, so I said I need to pay him something. But he declined, saying"not for this" and left. I will call them again if my central air stops working again.

We have an older central A/C system. The previous company that serviced it tried to sell us a new system every year, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars (two zones). According to them the system was not worth saving. This year, when one zone did not turn on, I thought perhaps the previous company had finally been proven correct. I called Gallett and they sent a serviceman, Mike, who replaced a relay, charged it up, and it works good as new for under $200. No arm twisting, complaining about how old it is, and hard-sell tactics to upgrade to a new unit. I really am glad I found Gallet. They are an honest company that actually knows how to fix things instead of trying to talk you in to buying all new.

Our air conditioning started leaking through the ceiling vent in the middle of the night at the start of the Memorial Day weekend (of course!). We called five companies who all listed 24x7 emergency service. Three never called back. One said we were out of their service area. Only Gallettair said they could come. They quotes rates that seemed high but I was in no position to negotiate. They showed up promptly, found and fixed the problem within an hour, were courteous and neat, and charged us the very minimum charge with no extra ie less than they quoted! My husband and I were incredibly pleased and the system has been working great since they were here two days ago. We would definitely use them again and cannot recommend them highly enough.

He made sure the dryer was working properly, and even caulked a few cracks in my foundation. I tried to tip them, and they refused. They were wonderful working for over an hour on my vent pipe. I really appreciated it. And they also gave me $25 coupon discount without me having the coupon. They were excellent.

Our 11 year old Frigidaire system was becoming a problem (freon leaks etc) and needed to be replaced. We were already customers of GallettAir (service contract) and liked their quick turnaround and professional service. We got 4 estimates for a new heat pump and air handler-decided to go with Gallettair because of our previous experience with them-they were very professional and quick to get back to me to answer all my questions. And their price after rebates was reasonable. Choosing Gallettair was the right decision. They were extremely accommodating in scheduling and removing the old heat pump a week before installation as I asked. During installation they were competent, clean and very professional. But what really made it work was the help and assistance of the service manager, Mike, who answered my constant questions, and took care of all the paperwork including rebates from Carrier and LIPA electric (I never would have had the patience to complete this stuff). The service manager also reviewed the work at the end of the job and explained the operation of the system to me. The only problem occurred at the end of the job when the guys were cleaning up. I broke the damper (part of my existing vent system) which controlled the airflow to the first floor. Yep, I broke it (handle lever and split the attaching screw) and admitted to it. It was in a tight spot in a small area so I figured I had a serious service call coming. But something happened I will never forget-Gallettair came back within a week with a new damper and replaced it free of charge. Gallettair? No contest. They are among the nicest and most professional people I have dealt with, and I?ll be with them as long as I live where they offer service. I received three estimates from these companies, and my oil companies AC install was the highest. GallettAir was a bit lower than the other top company and included a 5yr service plan, which no other company offered. Mike the service manager came to my house for the estimate on time, checked my existing system top to bottom and then we sat down to talk. He explained in detail what would be best for my home and offered me two systems, one being a named brand highly energy efficient system, and the other a lower priced good system. He explained they will both do the job, it depends on what I would like to go with. I chose the name brand Carrier Infinity system for the extra money, and I am happy I did. From dealing with the wonderful ladies JoAnn, who really worked with me in the scheduling of the install & upcoming duct cleaning, to Katie who followed up on the scheduling & service they were terrific & very customer service oriented. We were scheduled for Monday May 7 and 3 workmen showed up at 8am, Rich introduced himself and was the lead guy on the install & the others introduced themselves as well. They covered the carpets with plastic, were very respectful of our home and made the install go seamlessly. Throughout the day 1 or 2 other workers would show up to assist them. they explained what was going on and made sure I was happy when they left at 3pm. Mike (service manager) came back when the install was complete to check that all was up to GallettAir standards. (which are high) He spent an 1 1/2 hours checking out the system and helping with the my system rebates which were over $1200 from Carrier and LIPA and also GallettAir had a rebate promotion of $700 on this system so when all is said and done the system cost $8965.My wife and I were completely satisfied and happy with the work GallettAir performed, and are very glad we will have them as our A/C service company for years. I recommended GallettAir to my cousin for Duct cleaning and a bit of service he needed, they informed him his ducts were fine and not in need of cleaning at this time. They performed the service needed and went on their way. how's that for an honest company.

He immediately asked where the inside and outside units were and how many thermostats we had. As I showed him, I told him we had a condensation problem and a leak in the ceiling. He went right up to the attic where he found a broken pvc pipe and another that was loose and needed to be resealed. He showed me the broken pipe, replaced and resealed. After inspection of the 3 units, he told me the two 5 ton units were okay, but the 1 1/2 ton unit had a leak and no freon. He gave us an estimate for a repair and a quote for a new 2 ton unit (1 1/2 ton no longer available). Although my unit 16 year old a new one is quite expensive, so we have not yet made a decision, getting comparison prices. Also, told him my large kitchen was not cool enough during the heat of summer because, the appliances can generate a lot of heat. He came up with an idea that wouldn't turn into a major project, which I believe will help. Over the years, no other company technician found the broken pipe or came up with a reasonable solution to better cool the kitchen. He was polite, knowledgeable, caring and fast. He charged us the lesser cost of two options, instead of charging us by the 1/2 hour per unit, he charged us a first rate per unit, which was quite a bit cheaper.

The furnace in my home stopped working. I called Gallettair on the recomendation of some neighbors. A company rep. came to my home and got the furnace starting again within half an hour. At that point I decided that I'd like to have the furnace and air conditioner replace since they were both approaching the end of thier usefill life. The rep. gave me an estimate for the job within 20 minutes. I phoned the office to apply for 0% financing while the rep was still at my home. I was approved for the financing and a date for the replacement was set. The repair visit cost was waived as part of the deal. Galletteair arrived on the appointed day - on time! They worked from 8AM until about 4PM. A rep. showed up at about 3:30 with all the paperwork for the financing and all the other paperwork for the furnace and A/C. The rep. explianed everything to me and answered all of my questions. I found out that a 3 years service contract was included in the cost. The only evidence that anyone was at my home that day was the paperwork and a working furnace. The employees were courteous, polite, and neat, The entire job was finished in one day. I would have no problem recommending Galletteair to anyone!

On Friday March 9th, Carmine Galletta (owner of GallettAir) came to our home. Carmine didn't show up in a fancy car, like the other companies I contacted. Carmine arrived in one of his GallettAir work vans. That is something I have never witnessed. Over an hour! That is the amount of time Carmine was at our house that day. Measurements were taken. Questions were answered. Beautiful pictures of the equipment were shown. Finally, an estimate was presented to us. This may not sound like a big deal, but, the other companies that came over, were in and out within minutes. They would call with an estimate, or deliver it through email. This to me was very impersonal. GallettAir was the company I had to go with. On appearance and presentation alone! Another reason......Carmine himself would be there on my installation day. Impressive! This morning, right on time, the installation crew from GallettAir arrived. I was told they would show up between 8am & 9am. They were here at 8:24am. The men entered the house and immediately lined the floors with fabric drop cloths. Each technician introduced himself upon entry. These men were in my home for 10 hours. Old service was removed, new service was installed. As exhausting as this job had to be on each one of them, nobody ever stopped being polite. A few hours have passed and I am still amazed by the system itself. All the equipment looks fantastic as well. I would recommend GallettAir more than any other comapny I have used in my life. QUALITY COMPANY!

They came when they said they would and they were professional. I have a year-long contract for their services.

I've never seen a group of more professional, educated, polite, and clean individuals. They were very punctual, dedicated, and very respectful of our home. They went out of their way to make sure they laid plastic down throughout the house and they wore boot covers. When they left the house was spotless and they cleaned up everything after they were done. They were very conscientious of our home and our children. These guys were absolutely the best and I would recommend them to anybody. The owner came out from the start and told me what to expect from beginning to end and that is exactly what I received. I would do it again 100 times over.

We had a high-efficiency boiler installed about 5 years ago from another contractor. The system leaked from day one and kept shutting itself off every few months. After many previous calls to the initial installer -- who literally blamed everything from the wind to squirrels for our problems -- I called GallettAir after doing some research here, on Angie's list. Unfortunately I had to spend quite a bit of money to replace parts to get the system up and running again. GallettAir had to make many many return visits, often on weekends and at night, to continually replace parts. The most expensive and major piece of the boiler (the heat exchanger) had cracked -- and although it was under warranty, it days labor to locate and replace the part. Gallett only charged us *once* -- for the initial major repair. By now I had to pay Gallett about $4,500 in repair costs! I was not happy about this.Carmine, the owner of Gallett air offered to give us a free one year service contract -- because of the high labor cost in repairing the boiler -- and has never charged for the additional visits and parts required to see us through. Gallett has a specially trained person for these high efficiency units named Paul.Paul made many visits to our house, in early morning, late evening, on holidays and on weekends. It seemed like there was always another part that was breaking! It was heartbreaking and comical at the same time. At least I was not paying for these additional calls -- thanks to Carmine standing by his work. Yesterday it finally became evident that the initial installer apparently connected the circulator pump *upside down*, and that was the cause of the problems from the very beginning. Since the water pressure in our heating loop was *backwards* from the intended direction, it eventually caused the failure of many parts. The heat exchanged in particular was subject to a constant sudden bath of ice cold water - explaining the crack. Once the heat exchanger failed, it also caused corrosion and failure of some associated electronic parts that later required repair. The backwards pressure also explains a burst expansion tank, sudden banging on the pipes when the thermostats cycled, and the system shutting itself off intermittently. True to form, Gallett stuck by their word, and did not charge for the repair -- even once we discovered the problem was caused by the faulty installation from their competitor. Gallett is THE BEST. Seriously, who has stories like this?? They volunteered to give us free labor to stand by their work?? And then did so!!! I would recommend them many many times over.
