We had a service contract that was still in force with another provider, but we knew by their lack of responsiveness to a clog in the A/C line during that really hot week, and the flooding that ensued in the laundry room, that we needed a CHANGE in service providers. (Waiting FIVE days for a service call is totally unacceptable, especially when I was constantly wet-vaccing the laundry room, plying down layers of towels as the water just wouldn't stop as the A/C ran, washing and drying the towels, only to keep repeating the process.) After seeing the wonderful ratings and review for GallettAir on Angie's list, I phoned them during the leaking week, and they agreed that since I had a service contract in effect with someone else, that I wait it out rather than have to pay for what could be a service call from Gallet that could amount to $ 300.00 or more. They explained that they only write new contracts on systems that are properly functioning. Their honesty and professionalism was appreciated, and I knew that as soon as the problem was resolved, that GalletAir would be the provider I would calling for a service contract. The price for the contract is less than we were paying before, and is more inclusive! Thank you! Note: The afternoon of day that I signed the contract in the morning, I spoke with a friend, told her about my AM appointment with Gallett, and she told me that she has been happily been using their services, with contracts, for many years, and that they are really great. That confirmed what all of the Angie's comments had already told me! Yay!
Description of Work: A friendly and polite GallettAir service technician arrived promtply, checked out our A/C system to make sure that it was properly working and wrote up a service contract for us, effective that day. The contract covers both our one-zone central A/C, as well as our forced-hot air heating system.

Sorry our Estimates are Free so at times customers may have to wait a few hours even weeks for free expert advice. No co pay and no insurance card needed here. In the summer is difficult to give an exact time of arrival, as we can't gauge how long an estimate will take. i.e.: travel time , measuring and evaluation of the job, writing the estimate and then explaining it to the customer and answering questions. For this reason we offer appointments between the hours of 8am and 1pm and 2pm and 5pm Monday through Friday. This is the best we can do under the extremely demanding circumstances that the hot summer weather requires of reputable companies like ours. Now, if the customer wants an exact time and date, we can offer them a chargeable service call of $185.00 where we can pinpoint and exact time and date. However, Most people are appreciative of the Free Expert Advice and written estimate, and are ok with waiting for this Free Service. WE do all of this with no guarantee that we will be the contractor of choice. Be it known, that it does in fact cost companies money to drive around all day performing Free Estimates. Some advice for this customer, Make your appointment for your central air air conditioning estimate in March or April and you most likely will be given a one hour window. Make your appointment in July with a reputable and sought after company, and you will most likely have to wait. Just like the surgeons of medicine, you will wait for the best because they are in demand. The same goes for any highly skilled industry. The only difference is, doctors don't offer free estimates, and you go to them they don't come to you like we do. And at times you wait for Months to see them only to wait hours once you get there.

The technician came and was very friendly and knowledgeable. The problem was that the ceiling units were not at right level to allow for drainage so the units cut out. He needed to adjust some sets on the rods suspending the units. He made some calls and told me that he needs two men to do this job and as I wanted it done, I agreed. He told me that they have an individual who has 30 years of experience named Paul, who is the GURU of air conditioning and he would call me. After one day he didn't call so I did. Of course he wouldn't take the call so the rep got on. She told me that she spoke to him and "since they didn't install the AC, they won't get involved". I suppose, there only customers are only those that installed. There was no discussion of money, and that was not an issue. The failure I believe is in middle management. Gallent could not have grown to 30 trucks, walking away from customers that needed help. The technician was eager to help, but "Paul the GURU" put a stop to it. So the moral of the story is call them if you had them install the AC, or have a quick buck job to handle. If you have a more involved project, get a real professional who doesn't waste everybody's time and leave you flat. As an engineer, I will get this done, but without the help of "Paul the GURU". They were reputable enough not to charge me, but really where is the professionalism?
Description of Work: Not much--We had n AC system installed in a five room addition to our home. Unfortunately this was the first of its type he installed. Winter came and we couldn't not fire it up, until this summer. Unfortunately the installer died in January before it really ran. I called Gallant Air to straighten it out.

This system (was not )installed by us,)and was not installed correctly by the original contractor. After inspecting and then discussing the substandard installation by the other company, it was determined that we could not attempt to repair this customers system. We understand that the customer may be upset and frustrated, However, we cannot take on the responsibility of another contractors faulty and substandard workmanship. As you can see by the members post, this was not just a simple fix such as a service call. We feel the F rating is unfair and should not be allowed. WHat consumers must understand is that businesses also have a right to make a decision of weather or not they will take on a job. Truth be told the installing contractor deserves the F rating not us. We did everything right for this customer and at no cost. Opinion: F ratings should be reviewed and checked for validity before being allowed to be post. How can a company be rated without any services rendered? This is frustrated and taking it out on us. This is unfortunate and unfair making good companies think twice about staying with Angieslist. Opinion: For some consumers, this site used as a business bullying forum. And Its getting worse as time goes by. Paul did everything right followed through keeping the customer informed. We stand firmly behind Pauls decision and expertise.

This member (Was Not) forthright with his information when placing the service call. There is no deception as so claimed. We, as well as many other heating and air conditioning companies have different rates for service calls depending if it's a residential or commercial establishment. Residential service calls (rarely) if ever require accessing a roof. Unlike (Commercial Buildings) where most systems are located on the roof and requires two men for safety as well as insurance purposes. His (Photography Business) is a commercial rated account. When he phoned the office and stated that his business closes at 4:30 pm, the service adviser realized that the call was for a commercial business. In turn, he was re-quoted service rates for commercial establishments. Prior to any work being performed. He had the right to refuse as he so did. Just as customers expect fairness and honesty from service companies, its also important that the customer give the (correct) and (true) information when placing a service call. We were rated an (F) by this member for doing nothing wrong, stating we are a rip off. If your reading this, Do you think its fair to say that this member may have overreacted when grading an (A) rated service company with an (F) for doing absolutely nothing wrong??

It went great, I called two other companies ( not from Angies List) before I called Gallant. In the middle of the NY Heat wave they actually thought they could get to me that day. Gave me a minimum quote and told me they would stay in touch if they could not make it. At 4:30 my phobe rang expexting to hearwe can not make it to my surprise "he's on his way ". The tech was great didn't give me a lecture like the other companies I had called, made the repair aand actually only charge me for a tune up which was much less than the minimum quote. Would not use anyone else in the future

This is the saga of my new central A/C unit. It's long, but in the end you'll get a pretty good idea of how Carmine Galletta keeps Gallettair the highly rated Angie's List company that it is. On July 9th I was visited my Gallettair tech, to see why my central air was not cooling as it should. My house is a split, so I recognize that air flows/cools will vary by level, but the air flow on even the lower levels was lower than it had been and the upper floor air flow was almost non-existent. The air temperature was cool, but not as cold as it should have been. The tech along with his assistant checked the compressor, air handler, and some of the pipes and ducts. He told me that the unit had too much freon and that may be causing the problem. He said that he'd remove some freon, and if that didn't work, to call back the next day. I was charged the standard $200 diagnostic/work fee. At first, it didn't seem to work, so I called back Gallettair. As the day progressed, it seemed to be working better, but it was also a cooler day and the A/C was still not as cool as it should be. On July 10th, another tech arrived and did a quick check of the system and told me that the unit was 25 years old and working at full capacity. I have lived in the house about nine years and really did not know how old the A/C was until that moment. The tech said he was going to do something with the freon (I believe he said he was leveling it off, although I could be wrong). I was not charged for the second trip. Whatever the tech did on July 10th seem to make the system worse. The air coming out of the vents was barely above room temperature. On July 11th I called Galletttair at about 8:00 am and asked to talk to a supervisor. I just wanted the tech to undo what he did because the temperature in the house was becoming unbearable, even during the cool days of the latter part of last week. I didn't get a return call that day. The following day, I sent an e-mail to Carmine Galletta, the owner of the company. I asked about undoing what the tech did on July 10th and also an estimate for a new replacement unit. Carmine arrived the next morning with a bunch of hoses and gauges and spent a good hour working on the system at the compressor. At the end, Carmine told me that he did what he could to get the most out of my system and it might be able to make it through the summer. Carmine apologized about not getting a return call the previous day. He said that even though his personnel were as busy as they could be, they should have called me back. Carmine also REFUNDED the $200 that I paid for my first visit, as a gesture of customer service. This was just a sampling of how far Carmine Galletta will carry his customer service. When the repaired A/C was still not cooling as much as I wanted (it was better thoiugh), I called Gallettair to have the new unit installed. Carla, who is Carmine's assistant, called me back in minutes and asked if the following morning 6:30 am - 7:00 am would be okay. Good God! I jumped at it as we were in the middle of a heat wave and Carmine made sure to get me in at the earliest possible time. Carmine and his crew arrived at 6:45 am and the unit was running by 9:30 am. Carmine not only gave me quick service at a great price, he extended the service warranty at no additional cost to me. Then came the series of comedies ? wasn?t funny at the time. Later the same day the new unit was installed; the air flow diminished and it wasn?t cooling as it had been. I called Carmine, who arrived within an hour. It turned out that I am in the LIPA Edge program where they curtail your A/C remotely on hot days. Well one of LIPA?s curtailments caused a short in my A/C system. Carmine of course repaired it and added some sort of gizmo that would prevent that from ever happening again. The unit?s working fine, but a couple days later, I go down to the basement and I see large puddles of water. Some condensation is always expected on the cold A/C pipes, but the amount of water was excessive. I sent an e-mail to Gallettair (it was a Sunday) describing the problem and Carla called me within 10 minutes. She said Carmine was working on another job and he would come over once he was done. Carmine arrived in an hour or so and found that my condensation removal pump was shot and he replaced it. FREE OF CHARGE. There is a reason why Gallettair has so many positive reviews on Angie?s List. I am sure that there are other reputable HVAC contractors out there, but I have never dealt with a man who is so dedicated to doing a great job at a fair price with absolutely superior customer service as Carmine Galletta. Start by reading those who rated him poorly on Angie?s List and see if the rating was warranted and/or how Carmine responded to it. Before I hired Gallettair, that was one thing hat I did. You get an idea of the company?s character if you read how they respond to negative reviews. But Gallettair doesn?t get many of those because they do it right. As long as we live in Gallettair?s area of service, I?ll never use anyone else for HVAC work.

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience. We take out commitment to our customer satisfaction seriously. Although some of the issues that arose had nothing to do with our installation and because the homeowners were such nice understanding people, it was only right to take care of them. and see the repair through with no additional charge. Amazing, These homeowners realized that there are real caring people behind the company. Its important that as consumers we realize that at times situations occur that are beyond our control such as this customers experience. Instead of taking the negative approach, they were understanding and appreciative. To that end, it makes the company want to go above and beyond for the customer. I personally appreciate the trust you have placed in me, but most importantly Thank You for kindness during a somewhat funny yet stressful turn of events. Working together has its rewards. We will always be here for you. Respectfully Carmine Galletta

Thanks to Gallettair for fixing the leak in my central AC unit and going above and beyond to correct the problems I was experiencing. Although I only called Gallettair for this leak they found two other major problems with my unit and refused to leave these problems unattended do to possible health risks(mold). They did all these things at no extra cost to me. I would recommend this company to anyone who asked. Thank you again to Carmine and Matt for a job well done.

I called these people on a Sunday when that a/c stopped. They sent a man here on a SUNDAY. I didn't even expect to get someone on a Sunday and I was very happy about it. He assessed the situation and said the compressor was totally gone (It was 33 years old). I didn't get any names, but the man who came was courteous and knowledgeable. My air handler, up in the attic, had been replaced nine years prior and both were still the older models, so he said he had to find a compressor to go with my air handler. He would call in the morning. They called first thing Monday morning and said they did have a compressor for me and they would be there the very next day, Tuesday, to install it. I was amazed at their speed! The next day they showed up with the compressor in the afternoon with three men. They had it up and working only an hour and a half later. It was heaven. Then, through no fault on their part, it stopped working 24 hours later. They came the day I called and found that the blade on the fan had actually fallen off inside the cage (or whatever you call it). The blade was never tightened at the factory and the technician showed us exactly why and where it happened. It was definitely not their fault. He tightened it up then and the a/c was up and running right away. The fan blade was a little bent so he said he would order another one and bring it over when he could. No rush as it is working fine. As I failed to get names I can't tell you who these individuals were, but everyone was exemplary. The man who came back when the blade fell off was great and said he had never seen that happen before. The girls in the office were wonderful every time I talked to them. One of them, Joanne, was extremely caring and I appreciated that. I have some health problems and the heat was not helping at all, but she talked to me and calmed me down. All in all a very good experience. And I thank them.

We originally called GallettAir to come out and service our HVAC system in the home we had just purchased. Carmine Galletta (the owner) came to our house and explained that the better option is to replace everything and install new air ducts throughout the attic for proper air circulation. Along with tax incentives, the price was reasonable. It was understandable that the system needed to be replaced, the furnace was from the 1970's and the A/C was struggling to maintain a temperature. From the estimate, through the initial install, the company was punctual and very professional. They were quick, courteous and clean. When they finished installing, I asked Carmine (who was at the install), why the house wasn't cooling. He said it can take a few hours for the system to get going. Acceptable. The next week was hot, up to 93 degrees, and the temperature in the house kept getting hotter and hotter (up to 87 degrees) with the A/C running continuously. I called Carmine who explained that with our current lack of insulation in the attic, we may not be able to get the temperature down much more than that. Unacceptable. They sent out a technician who added refrigerant and checked the temperatures coming out of the vents. Technician said the refrigerant should make the house a little cooler. It did not. Something was definitely wrong, and I was feeling like I just got screwed out of $12,900. The last time I spoke with Carmine, he explained to me that he has 30 years of experience in this business and the 6-8 degree temp difference from outside to inside is acceptable when there is little to no insulation. I have no experience in this business, but I knew this wasn't right. He said he wouldn't leave me hanging, and that was the last time I heard from him despite my attempts and messages. After the second technician came and said the system is working perfectly, I felt helpless. I explained my frustration with that second technician (spending over $12,000 for little results), who plainly said they have had much larger and more expensive jobs and this system is working fine. Finally, I got the call from Paul Mazzeo (service manager), who says the resolution of the problem was worked jointly between him and Carmine. Paul Mazzeo is the savior of this company and their passing score. Paul is TRULY knowledgable with HVAC and how these systems work. Minor changes fix major problems. He came out on a daily basis for almost a week when our A/C kept freezing over and was not working at all (this was only a month after install). He explained everything perfectly when he tried different things, including removing the refrigerant the first technician added and inspecting the system. Finally, he figured out the problem. There was not enough air getting through the intake to support the larger A/C. He removed the filter and opened up the intake to test it out. 72 degrees and holding steady!!!! With no insulation!!! It was 95 degrees yesterday and inside was a beautiful 72. Paul ordered parts needed and came back out to fix the intake problem and got our filter back on, and the system is still working great. Paul understands the importance of customer satisfaction and was most accommodating and professional. This score easily would have been an A if the few who I dealt with, believed there was an issue and worked with me immediately to resolve it. I do appreciate that this company did return to fix the problem.

Response from GallettAir Inc
To answer this post. First I have to respond that I did in fact go back at least two times to the home after the installation, that I was personally on the system replacement and that I did make an effort to resolve the mans issue. Each time I went there the home was cool and dehumidified. The issue here is that the (original air conditioning system) was installed the original old gas hot air furnace that came with the home in the 1950's. It was connected to uninsulated air ducts that blew from low side wall grills throughout the home. I could have sold them a total new ac system from the attic, but because of the new variable speed furnace technology along with the $1,500 LIPA rebate along with a $700 manufacturer rebate and a $300 federal tax credit it was a no brainer to save them money while accomplishing their goal. I recommended that they replace the current over 40 year old furnace, coil, and condensing unit. To accomplish getting air from the ceiling down, I also added a supply riser from the basement into the attic where it branched out to ceiling grills to supply the home with air from the ceiling as well. We also performed a full air duct cleaning and sanitizing service. This job was completed on a Saturday by at least 8 men at no additional cost to the customer. At his request I personally did some additional air supply grill work for him at no charge. About a week later, He called and said that he was not satisfied because he said the home was no cooling to his expectation. He stated he was from Arizona and his home was always 68 degrees I had explained to him that because the insulation in his attic was original and only one inch thick there was a heat gain issue in the home and that his home would never reach 68 degrees until that issue was addressed. I also explained that here on Long Island we contend with High Humidity unlike Arizona's dry weather. Paul has worked with me for 28 years and and like any other group of professionals, we confer on issues such as this. I had asked him to go back to the home to see if there was something I was not seeing, and Paul in fact saw a resolution. We fulfilled our obligation to this customer which is our main objective and goal. Not months not years but days after his issues arose. My over 30 years of experience does not make me a master of the air conditioning universes ,but my customers can rest assured that they will never be left high and dry by GallettAiir Inc. But in fact they will be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This customer has a ten year warranty on his system, so its a very good possibility he will see me a his home in the future, with even more years of experience under my belt.. I still recommend that this member address his insulation issues throughout his home. as By doing so will also help reduce his overall heating and air conditioning costs for years to come. Initial installation went fine. However, they did not have the permanent washable filter available. They also broke the intake grill but said they would fix it when the the filter came in. It's now been over a year and still no filter. I've called twice to see if the filter has come in and with a small list of other little problems that arose during their installation. They responded timely but only completed a few of the items I called for. I still have a broken grill and no permanent filter. Plus the intake sounds like a baseball card in my old Schwinn bicycle's spokes. I really hope I can get this resolved and I think they are a good company and came well recommended. Things happen, but c'mon it's been over a year.

After initially being unresponsive due to some confusion about parts and the call center not understanding (or not trying to understand the situation) I got in touch with Carla who really took charge of the situation and made every possible effort to resolve the situation. Paul was dispatched to my home and he also made every effort to resolve the situation, locating and installing the parts required to repair an old attic air handler. Although I had to have an electrician come and resolve some issues with the electrical panel, I was back up and running as fast as possible. Carla and Paul really did an exceptional job and both show what great customer service is all about!

From start to finish ( one day job I might add ) John the foreman and his crew were prompt and very professional , these guys know their business and worked as a well oiled machine together. All the guys were polite and treated our house like it was their house. At the end of the day, except for the new air vents mounted on the ceilings thruout the house you couldn't even tell they were here yesterday.... they cleaned up everything and left nothing behind. Carmine Galletta gave us a great estimate and did a fabulous job , his entire staff , even his parts/materials delivery guy Ray, are wonderful people. A pleasure doing business with Gallett air and would certainly use them again !!!!!

Great experience. Actually found them here on Angie's List! Every review was right. Great service. We had water dripping from our ceiling at 8PM the first night of a heat wave. They were here at 1030PM to diagnose. Two other companies still haven't called back and one called back the following morning. Our coil was frozen because we needed more refrigerant. The technician gave us directions to thaw it out. They came back the next day when it thawed (day 2 of the heat wave) to add refrigerant. Now we are cool and know who to call in the future. Easy recommendation.

We responded quickly to the members request for a return call. Question: How can a person even consider rating a company when service was not performed?

We bought a home in Bay Shore, Long Island in 2012 that is approximately 4,500 square feet, two stories and built in 1918. The home did not have central air. I got several estimates to install a complete system, and chose to go with Gallet Air. The other estimates were slap-dash and unprofessional. The other estimates said that any plaster work, electricial work or other work would be an unspecified additional price, so I had no idea what my total cost would be. With Gallet Air, the owner, Carmine Galletta, came and personally gave me the estimate on May 9, 2013. Due to my travel schedule, we chose the dates of July 10-12 for installation. He told me that it would take three days and that the company was very experienced working with antique homes. I felt immediately that he was more knowledgable and experienced than any of the other four estimates. He gave me a complete fixed price including all work, and I signed up on the spot. The crew arrived at 9am promptly on Wednesday July 10. There were at least 10 to 15 guys working all the time, from a Master Installer (the amazing John DiLorenzo) to apprentices. We were completely impressed by the professionalism, cleanliness and work ethic of the crew. The guys consulted us on the location of the vents, the thermostats and kept us informed any time they had to make a cut in a wall. All the vents were located inside closets, so there was no impact on the look of the home. The crew finished on Friday evening July 12 as promised. The air conditioning units are virtually silent- it is an amazing system- I am totally pleased. I am also happy to know that I have a long term service contract- I was told that all I have to worry about is adjusting the thermostats- they do the rest! I couldn't be happier- this company is head and shoulders above all others in Long Island- don't even consider an alternative, especially if you have a large, antique beauty of a home!!!

This was a wonderful and one of the most beautiful old homes that we have worked in in an very long time. Although a bit stressful at times, the crew did a wonderful job installing the systems. Doing a job in a home as old as this one , is not only an accomplishment for us, but also an honor. Working for such wonderful people also helped greatly. We appreciate the opportunity to perform the install and even more pleased that all went as planned. As the homeowner would say, now the old girl will be nice and cool for the next 200 years or better. We thank the customer for placing her confidence in our company. We will always be here for her and the old girl.too!!

I had six a/c companies come to my home to give me estimates and Carmine Galletta, owner of Gallett Air, stood out from the crowd. He was very knowledgeable about doing a large (4,000 square feet) and complicated house such as mine and thoroughly explained how it could be done. He was accomodating and responsive to my many questions and came over two times to address my concerns. I found him to be fairly priced and liked the fact that his crew was composed of all employees (no subcontractors). His team worked together like a well-oiled machine and were very polite to me and respectful of the house (protected all floors with new drop cloths, cleaned up thoroghly after themselves so that no debris was left anywhere). The installation was completed exactly the way he promised and I couldn't be happier. He also did all the paperwork for me re getting a LIPA rebate. I highly recommend this company.

We appreciate the post and the honesty of our customers. When having a system installed in a home such as this, the homeowner must have an open mind. In this particular installation, we did in fact run into a few unseen obsticles. However, the homeowner was completely understanding and worked with us in resolving these few small issues, making the job go smoothly and to everyone's satisfaction and expectation. Realizing that working in the attic with temperatures hovering at the 120 degree mark, it's extremely difficult. But it could also be potentially deadly this is why its important to have continuity within the team and the homeowner. In this case the homeowner was Great... Our installation and service teams endure these grueling conditions day after day. We appreciate the consideration of this customer, and we want them to know that we will always be there for them if the need ever arises. Now that the the installation is complete, our commitment to providing quality service and maintenance begins. Here at GallettAIr Inc. (We Make Customers For Life.) We are forever committed to our customers satisfaction, as well as the quality and workmanship of the services that we perform each day. Thank you! we appreciate you choosing us for your air conditioning needs.

Our air conditioner broke down on the hottest day of the year. I suspected we might need a new compressor. We called GallettAir Inc and Paul and Mike responded. They quickly diagnosed our problem and provided repairs at cost considerably less than I feared. They were polite and professional. We were so impressed that we are having them give us a quote on Fugitsu a mini split system. Thanks GallettAir Inc, Paul and Mike!

The AC was a great. It was one of the best investments we have made in terms of home improvement. It had a triple 10 year warranty and service plan. The hot water heater was another story. We have not saved one cent on heating bills and there no greater abundance of hot water. After 3 year years, when the warranty ran out we began experiencing trouble. Water appeared on the floor at the base of the hot water heater. It seemed to be coming from the seam at the base. However, it stopped and the puddle dried. I thought the heater might just be sweating due to the high humidity. I called the company to ask for someone to come take a look. Unlike the AC unit, the warranty for the hot water unit had expired. It would cost $185 for a service call. I decided to wait. The water problem re-occurred. I finally called to schedule a service call. I didn't want to wake up and find a basement full of water. It would be 3 days to get a service man to my house. Its Friday now; the service call is scheduled for Monday afternoon. So the AC from GallettAir is a good deal, but DO NOT buy the hot water exchanger. It's a load of crap. Don't fall for the sale pitch. ***UPDATE 7/18/13*** The service manager did come by and resolved the problem. They didn?t charge me for the service call and I haven?t had a problem since. They were professional in handling the resolution.
Description of Work: GallettAir sold me a whole house AC system. They arrived promptly and installed the whole mechanism in one day. The operation was very clean and efficient. As part of the deal, the representative sold me a 52 gallon SuperStor heat transfer indirect fired water heater. The water heater was supposed to use the heat of our oil fired burner to heat the hot water. It was supposed to be more efficient and would save us money on home heating bill.

As an Angie's list member and user for a few home improvement projects, I sought out the best reviews for CAC contractors. I received four estimates and selected Galette after meeting with the owner Carmine and providing me with a fair price to install. We live in a split style home which had a vaulted foyer which separated the two attic spaces. During the estimate meeting, Carmine found access to the attic behind our bathroom vanity (1st plus). He assured us he could install the system with one zone / unit while other contractors advised "it could not be done". To ease our concern on install day, I asked Carmine to come back and take another look to confirm it could be done, and done properly. He came back and he had one of his men crawl through a 2 x 4' opening to double confirm access to run pipes was there. When they said they could do it, we agreed on price. They scheduled our job within 5 or 6 weeks (not bad right before summer) and accommodated us with a Saturday install date. A CREW OF 8 TRUCKS and 8-10 men showed up promptly at 9 and started the job. Carmine (the owner mind you) stayed the entire time to oversee the crew, but they were all so good and respectful of our home and clean, it probably would not have mattered. Each crew member was courteous, efficient, knew what they were doing and were proud workers. It seemed that it is a family run business (fathers / sons, etc.). They stayed the entire day to finish the job and was done by 8. Clear to me that G.A. is great company and well-managed. The system has been installed and running well. I need them to come back to balance the system to get equal air flow to all vents, but confident they will come back. Even the customer service reps are polite and responsive. Good company and all about customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, not found very often.

The owner called to personally appologize 2 days after I posted my review. He said he was embarrassed, and asked for details so he could instruct his staff better to ensure nothing like this ever happened again. He offered to reimburse me the fees I paid to the company that completed the work. I told him that was unnecessarry. He then offered me free services next year which I agreed would be appropriate. I believe Gallett Air addressed this instance of poor customer service by doing the right thing, and offering appropriate compenstion for my inconvenience and dissatisfaction. I am uprgading them to a "C" grade overall, for my experience, because mistakes happen, and they made great effort to correct theirs. I will give them another chance to demonstrate their professionalism on the job next year.
Description of Work: I called Gallett Air in mid-May to clean my AC ductwork. It hadn't been done in years and I was beginning to experience allergic reactions I beleive were associated with air pollutants. The soonest they could schedule me was 3 weeks out on Monday June 17th. During this time there were several 85+ degree days and I kept the AC off. On the Friday before the appointment I was left a voicemail saying my appointment was being rescheduled. When I call back to protest the office was closed and I got their answering service. A technician called me back in about 20 minutes and said he would reach out to the service manager and I would receive a call back either later that evening or early Saturday morning. No one ever called. Monday morning I was told there was nothing they could do because they only had one technician who does duct cleanings, and he took the day off. I had to wait until Thursday. When I checked my notes from the year before they had cancelled on me then too...so late in the season that I gave up and didnt get them cleaned. SEE UPDATE BELOW

We responded to the customer regarding her appointment. We understand that this was in fact an inconvenience and the timing for this to occur could not have been worse. Unfortunately, this was out of our control. Our duct cleaning foreman had a personal/ medical issue arise. I spoke to the customer fully understood her displeasure. At that time, I had offered her our service at a discounted price. She explained that she already had the service performed by another company. In good faith business practice, I then offered the customer a complimentary air duct cleaning when the need arises. We don't claim to be perfect, we are human, and we all make mistakes and experience medical issues at times. Most importantly, in the end we want to be sure that (All) of our customers know that we (DO) care about them and their complete satisfaction. We cannot change what happened. All that we can do is live up to our short coming, try to prevent it in the future, and make it right for our customer. Carmine Galletta/ Owner

I can't begin to express my satisfaction of choosing Gallett Air to perform a central air replacement in our newly purchased home. Mike Fuller came by on 4/12/13 to do an estimate for the cost to replace the outdoor condenser and attic air handler. He arrived on time and was friendly and professional. He was the only service provider to wipe his feet before he entered our home. He was very thorough with inspecting what we had already in the house and evaluating what we needed. He also didn't get flustered when I asked him straight out why I should hire Gallett Air. We decided to go with Gallett Air and work was scheduled for 5/23/13. That morning, the office called a informed us that the crew was running late. This was very considerate. John and Kyle arrived and were very friendly and we did a walk through to make sure everyone was on the same page. The protected all the floors, which was above my expectation. They disconnected the old outside unit and removed it. They leveled the ground, put the new pad and snow legs and placed the new condenser. They replaced the gutter which covered the refrigeration lines which made the install look great. They then worked on the air handler in the attic. They replaced air handler, the drip pan and drain lines and when it was all done it looked great, clean and professional. The duct cleaning guys came and did their thing. The only complaint is that the register in the kitchen was never opened so therefor never cleaned. A lot of dust came out of that register when it was finally opened with the system running. A minor over site compared to everything else. The whole job was completed by 5pm and they cleaned everything up and it was like they were never there. Mike Fuller again stopped by and inspected the crew's work and started up they system and checked all the pressures. He also gave us a crash course in how to use the new thermostat. They were not the cheapest quote nor were they the most expensive. However, I was very happy with the quality of their work and professionalism of their employees. I, my wife, and 7 month old son thank Gallett Air for making our first summer in this house a comfortable one.
Description of Work: Replaced existing 3 ton Trane central air conditioning system with a Temp Star 3 ton 16 seer puron air conditioning system, including the replacement of outdoor unit on pad and snow legs, variable speed air handler with emergency cut off and drain pan, seven day programmable thermostat, 94% efficient filter. They also cleaned all the existing duct work and air registers.
