Description of Work: Called to have someone come and look at my unit. Lady who answered the phone was having a conversation with someone else when I called. Gave her my issue and she quoted $185 for first 30 minutes then $85 for each hour thereafter. Ridiculously expensive.

Description of Work: Called for a service call and spoke with a female named Michelle. She never asked what problem I was experiencing or what kind of system I have. She immediately stated the service is 185.00 for us to come there and does not include anything. Each additional hour spent would be 85.00. Money first customer second. What a joke!!!

Description of Work: To make a long story short my 15 year old central air unit died and I figured it was time to cough up some dough and replace the unit...I called Gallettair and told them I wanted to get an estimate on a new system without telling them my current is not working...They gave me an appointment which was in about a week...I figured with fingers crossed, that the weather would cooperate and that it wouldn't be that warm..needless to say the heat continued so I called them back to see if I could get the estimate a little sooner...After explaining to them my dire situation they had their tech respond that day and within an hour I had my old unit cooling once more! Not only did they get the unit operating for a reasonable price they also could have pushed the issue on replacing it for thousands of dollars...but instead advised me to get through the season and see what the situation is next season.....I must admit, that in today's climate, it is very uncommon for a company not to push you into spending more money than you need...especially in the repair and service industry....its a real good feeling when you can trust a company and know that their selling you something you need and not something they need to sell! Once again I can only give you my review on my experience on their visit but from what I can tell this company can be trusted and will be around for many years to come and their rating on this website further reiterates my feelings!

Description of Work: I called every HVAC / heating repair contractor on Angies List in my area. The others simply wanted to set up an appointment to look at the system. Gallettair was different. Gallettair told me to wait to schedule an appointment and proceeded to give me several items to check myself that might repair the problem and avoid a service call. They asked me to call back if the problem persisted after I ran through their suggestions. I did call them back and they double checked to make sure they did not have a service contract for my address (we had just purchased the home) because if I had a service contract still in place it would save me money. Only after determining that there was no service contract for my address did they schedule an apopintment. They arrived punctually and were very knowlegeable about central a/c. They quickly determined the problem was something relatively minor . They fixed it and charged me only the minimum fee because they had not done much work -- even though they were within their policy rights to charge significantly more. Their serviceman also gave me useful information about using and maintaining our central a/c gratis. I will only use Galletair going forward for my heating and a/c needs. I will take out a service contract with them. They are a rare gems in today's market. For most US swervice providers, customer service is no longer a priority, but Galletair shines. I repeat they will be my heating and a/c service company and I will absolutely recommend them to anyone I know who might need them. Dian Yudelove, Bayport, NY

Description of Work: I submitted a report about Galettair Inc. I had given them an A for response, and an F for the work , or no work performed. I explained in detail that Gallettair was unable to fix my problem, I have been made aware of the fact that Galettair does NOT service any oil heating equipment by Mr. Carmine Galetta, President of Galettair. Mr. Galetta has advised me by mail, that he will take legal action against me if I do not recall my statement. I have no desire to face any legal action, and my experience with Angies list was disappointing, to say the least. In the advertisement about repair for oil heat and baseboard heating, his company came up, I requested a service, they reacted and gave me an estimate to diagnose the problem, but not to fix the problem. I think there is something wrong with the listing, or the search area, for my problem. Please remove my comments from your site. I am not interested in any drama like this and will search for other means of service in the future. Werner Simon

Description of Work: Called Gallett on Thursday as my heat was not working. Unfortunately, they could not come next day. They gave me a 1pm to 5pm window but did not arrive until after 5pm. However, they did call me around 4 pm to tell me he would be late. Repairman came told me the motor was no good and that it would be an additional $425 in addition to the $100 plus service call to have it replaced but would have to order part and did not know how long it would take. Did not hear from them on Monday so I called and they told me a repairman would be coming over in the afternoon to fix it. I told them to call me a half hour before he would come. They did so and the repairmen came and replaced the motor. Instead of waiting half the day for them, I should have them call a half hour before the repairman would arrive. Other than that nothing to complain about and I would and will use them again.

Description of Work: One zone of our central air conditioning system was not blowing out the cold air. We called and were able to get a satisfactory appointment and they came on time. They identified the problem and replaced a relay. The cost was $175 for the service call and $100 for the part and installation, plus tax.
