 + -1 moreDan came promptly in response to a request for quote, and delivered the quote personally to insure understanding of the work expected. His was by far the lowest quote. Except for the fresh paint and empty paint cans there was no sign he had been there. we are very pleased with the job.

Kathy does impeccable work ! Helpful with any questions we had, including color choices. A bargain at any price . She was prompt, and stuck to the time restraint she had quoted. Great job, great price, lovely woman ! She treated our modest home as if it was her own. Would hire Kathy again in a minute !

 + -1 moreThis was the second time I have hired Kathy Smith to do further painting in my home (see my review dated 02/01/2013 for work completed on 01/31/2013). Once again the job done (05/02/2013) was meticulous, thorough/well-done, and very, very affordable. Kathy was here for 3 days to do, as noted up above, painting in the upstairs bath and bedroom, as well as the cellarway walls and ceiling and the trim in the dinette area. At each day's end Kathy cleaned up thoroughly and at the completion of the various projects, other than for the very excellent painting she did, you would not even know that she was here because everything looked so immaculate and proper. She has always arrived on time, moved the furniture to paint and at the end put everything back in its proper place. As a senior citizen I cannot emphasize how helpful and beneficial her doing this was for me (she also provided me with her senior citizen's discount). I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THE PRICE AND WITH THE PAINTING ON BOTH OCCASIONS WHEN I HAVE HIRED KATHY TO COME INTO MY HOME TO PAINT. In fact, I have asked her back again in June to paint my upstairs office. Also, with any other painting that I will need in the future, I will not even shop around; I shall hire Kathy Smith once again and her company, READY FOR A CHANGE. Lastly, a nicer person you will never meet. Kathy is soft-spoken, intelligent, and non-threatening. You will feel very comfortable in dealing with her as I was. I assure you of this!

 + -1 moreI contacted Ready For a Change and Kathy got back to me with in a day or so. We set up a time for her to come out and look at what I needed painted and to give me some ideas on color. She arrived ontime and we talked about the job and what I would like to have done. She explained to me that she wasn't able to start for a few months. Within a few days she sent me a quote. I liked the price and we set up a time for her start the job. When the time came she was able to start earlier than what we planned and that was fine. She arrived ontime each day and got right to work and she was pleasant to talk too. She fixed the picture holes and even a few other spots I asked her to fix. She did a great job on both the livingroom and entryway. She cleaned up every day after she was done and she was very detailed about things. I strongly recommend her and will hire her again when needed.

 + -1 moreAll went well. Because of Kathy's many excellent references from Angies List, I contacted her earlier this year and she got right back to me. We made an appointment for her to stop by my home to evaluate my painting needs. She arrived on time, was very pleasant and had answers, suggestions and recommendations to all of my questions. I was impressed and I contracted wth her shortly thereafter for the needed 5-6 days to complete the work (she had previously listed in her proposal/invoice in specific detail all that was to be done). Kathy did my living room, dining room, trim therein, front door and the upstairs hallway and ceilings. Additionally, she "wallpaper-prepped" my kitchen and painted that as well. At each day's end she cleaned up and made certain that the areas involved in the work were as liveable as possible until their completion. Well, yesterday (01/31/13) everything was completed and I was 100% pleased. In addition to the great work done, Kathy's personality is wonderful and she is quite easy to talk to and is a good listener. I would not hesitate to hire her again and have recommended her to others. In fact, she is putting together for me another proposal to do the cellar stairs' ceiling and walls as well as my daughter's upstairs bathroom and bedroom. We have already scheduled 2 dates for very early May.
Description of Work: Amongst the best, most worthwhile and affordable consumer experiences I have ever had. Extremely satisfied.

The work was professionally done and she cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. The price was fair (we got three bids and hers was the lowest) and we are delighted with the quality. We would not hesitate to hire her again.
Description of Work: The job involved painting the interior of an outpatient clinic and required working around the clinic schedule. The was a fair amount of patching and prep work required.

Kathy painted both of our bathrooms, our dining room and our kitchen, all of which was top-notch work. She's very neat and cleans up everything every day so you don't have to worry about a multi-day mess all over your home. Not only was Kathy able to provide a great service, but she also came in well under quote after really digging into the job and finding some ways to to be more efficient. I highly recommend her services.

They were very nice and apologetic for the confusion. When I did get the estimate it was way more than the other 2 estimates by more than 1300 dollars so I did not hire them.

They did all the work, cleaned up each evening and checked to be sure I was happy with the work they were doing.  + -1 moreTo say I'm another satisfied customer would be an understatement. All the good reviews are true. In fact, you might say my experience was almost too good to be true. To summarize:- My email to ask to set up an appointment for an estimate was returned the same day by Kathy, with a phone call. Dan and Dave arrived for the estimate exactly when they said they would, and a written estimate was received via email that day. We agreed upon the work and scheduled it - all via email - again, the same day. When the job date got nearer, Dan and Dave beat me to the phone to confirm the appointment. On the day of the job, Dan and Dave arrived exactly when they said they were going to. Their work was impeccable. They even repaired a large gap in my eave, and they finished a full day ahead of plan. A week or two later, Kathy called to see if I was satisfied or had any concerns. I don't remember the last time a contractor followed-up their work with a phone call (do you?). Furthermore, Kathy, Dan and Dave: exemplified communication skills; were polite and respectful; were professional in both the quality of their work, from prep to clean-up; were punctual (they never missed a promised date - even if it was a promised phone call); offered reasonable pricing. I actually felt good about paying them because they were so deserving. Talk about piece of mind! Other contractors could sure learn a lot from Kathy and Dan and Dave! Needless to say, I look forward to hiring them for my upcoming jobs.

I had just fired painters and had many rooms in my house torn apart, with little painting completed. After reading the excellent reviews here, I called her on a saturday afternoon. She came out that day, and gave me as much of her time as she could the following week. She worked around her existing appointments, and even worked a whole day on a weekend, to try and help me get my house back in shape. I then had her come back and do a couple areas that I was going to handle myself, but knew that she could get it done. She was pleasant, very professional, and did an execellent job. I couldn't be happier start to finish..

Description of Work: Glad you asked to describe. I called for a small job with covering some large windows which we both did. I needed a bakers rack carried into the basement also which we both did. Done in a very short time. Kathy was punctual, polite, neat in appearance, great personality and fair in cost. I am planning on having her husband whom I have not yet met, paint my house on the outside this summer. His price seemed fair to me although I have not gotten any other estimates yet. Kathy was honest enough to advise me to get a few more estimates. I plan on doing so when the weather breaks. I most likely will go with Ready For A Change. In the past I have tried to get estimates for things. I was told they would come at a certain day and time and never show nor call. Then I would call and they always came up with some excuse. Also some gave me quotes so high they could not possibly have wanted the job. I have already recommended Ready For A Change to a cousin as she has a small job to be done. I can't wait to get my house painted. I have new landscaping and they promised me it would not get damaged in any way, as that is my big concern. I dread having to pay people for work and then I have to clean up their messes. I am having hand surgery and I told them I cannot pick up anything left behind. I was assured there will be nothing left for me to do. Time will tell as I have had this said to me before... but somehow I feel they will be good to their word. There are NO "DON'Ts and ALL "DO'S". I would gald to give feedback after my house gets painted this summer.

I wasn't able to schedule the work as soon as I had wanted but that was my fault thinking that I could get painting done a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving. :) Her estimate of how long it would take was right on - 5 days for 3 rooms. She is a very careful painter and the results look wonderful. I had gotten one other estimate and hers was less, but I probably would have gone with her even if her estimate was more because she was very easy to work with. She also cleaned up every day, and worked hard to keep our inconvenience to a minimum.
Description of Work: I had Kathy paint the ceilings, walls, cabinets, and windows in my kitchen, living room, and dining room. She also stripped wallpaper from the kitchen, and made necessary repairs to walls before painting.

She calls back and shows up when she says she is going to and that is sometimes hard to find. I am very satisfied with the job she did, she was neat and clean. She patched up my walls which were not in the best of shape in some areas. She was helpful with giving advice on colors as well. I was able to not be home when she painted and she was wonderful with my two dogs. I was at ease with Kathy in my home.

 + -1 moreI contacted Kathy by email and she returned my inquiry that same day by phone. We met shortly after in our home and discussed the job, colors, and time involved. Kathy provided suggestions as to wall color and trim color and also provided paint fans for us to look at. She suggested purchasing sample paint which we did and we appreciated the suggestion. Kathy arrived on time, with all of the equipment she needed to do our job. We provided the paint which we purchased at Sherwin Williams during an excellent sale. Kathy was meticulous in her painting techniques, with covering furniture and flooring, and with clean-up. She worked efficiently and unobtrusively for the four days she was in our home. We couldn't have been more pleased with Kathy's professionalism and booked her in January to complete our downstairs painting. Kathy is a pleasure to work with and the completed job was beyond expectation.
