Ready For A Change

After reading reviews about Kathy and her work, it seemed too good to be true. It isn't. I didn't bother contacting anyone else after meeting with her. Even though she is scheduled well into the future, we felt she was waiting for. In short, we couldn't be more pleased. She spent 13 days completely repainting our interior and it looks amazing. She was on time every day, easy to work with, and her work is incredibly good. We are already recommending her to family and friends, which we don't typically do. She's that good!

Kathy was amazing! We felt she went above and beyond, and the quality of her work was so much better than we could have ever done. Very professional, kind, easy to work with, responsive, and great with animals :) We’ve already booked her for more projects this fall!

Everything was done very professionally. Kathy outlined what she was going to do and how long it would take. Kathy was always on time, worked extremely hard, was respectful of my home and my time and completed all the work promised. Very pleased with the finished work.

I recommend Kathy very highly. Kathy is very responsive to calls and questions, answered all questions readily. The price for the work done was the best out of a few estimates. The work is very high quality, and is done quick but thorough and with attention to detail. We hired Kathy during the COVID-19 lockdown, and since our home reno fell under essential work we had painting that needed to be done after the reno was complete. Kathy was very open to working with us while maintaining CDC guidelines on social distancing. We have another potential small painting project and Kathy is the only person I would consider calling for that project.

We have an historic home built around 1865. Exterior: The clapboard siding, trim, storm windows and front porch needed to be painted, along with patching foundation cracks. Kathy and Dan did an excellent job at making our house look like new with paint! Older homes take a lot of work and patience when painting. They worked hard and efficiently. We are very happy with the results! Interior: Walls, ceilings, trim and cabinets all needed rescuing! Kathy did a great paint job on everything. She was knowledgeable on which paint and primer to use for each surface. She also did some caulking where necessary. Kathy and Dan are wonderful people to work with on improving the look of your home with paint. They listen to what you are looking for and make sure you are pleased with their work. We are very happy with their paint job and are enjoying the new look of our old home! We highly recommend them!

Look no further for a painter! We are so thankful we found Kathy. She is a highly experienced and skilled painter, not to mention a friendly and generous person. It was a pleasure to work with her. Kathy did an absolutely fantastic job with a challenging paint job and for a great price. We had several rooms with old wallpaper to be painted. Kathy removed, patched and primed with meticulous attention to detail. We were amazed at how great everything turned out. Her price was very reasonable and lower than several other estimates. It was so nice not having to wonder what kind of painting crew you’re actually gonna get with some of these bigger companies. That might be the way to go if you want something done as quick as possible, but if you care about quality and don’t want to pay extra for it Kathy’s one to call.

The project went smoothly. Kathy did a great job. And she is so easy to work with. We also appreciate her suggestions on colors and types of paint. We've been working with her for years and highly recommend her.

If you need a painter, then look no further. Kathy painted every room in our newly purchased home. Her work is meticulous She has a very good eye for color and was helpful to us when we were overwhelmed with paint color choices. Communication and scheduling was easy and she was always punctual and amazingly neat. She did a great job in a friendly and cheerful manner. We hired Ready for a Change (Kathy Smith, owner) in August 2019 to paint our great room/dining/kitchen area, our master bedroom, hallways and lower level. Kathy worked by herself for all of the painting and did a great job with all of the areas. She is very conscientious, extremely neat, always punctual and works steadily the whole day. She was excellent at follow-up and responses to request for quote, questions or scheduling the job. When our painting was complete we missed having her with us each day.

Kathy was awesome! We just moved into our house and didn't have time to get the painting done that we wanted. Basically every room in the house! Kathy was very reasonably priced and did an amazing job! We can't be more happy with all the work she did for us. I've been recommending Kathy to everyone!

Kathy’s work was amazing. She was punctual is communicating with us ahead of time, and the job was done when she estimated it would be. Her painting was clean, precise, and she even touched up our high ceilings that we could never get to. She left our house looking as if there was nothing going on, as painting is messy. She cleaned up after everything was done and it was spotless. She is a very talented painter. We were very happy with her work and would definitely use/recommend her again!

Kathy painted twenty two doors w/two coats of paint in four days. They came out beautifyly and I plan on hiring Kathy when we are ready to paint the other rooms in our home. She was professional and reasonably priced and used only the best paint. Great Job!! Thanks again!!

Kathy is simply the best! She carefully prepared the walls, then did a beautiful painting job. She is experienced, knowledgeable, reliable, and very skilled - in a word the consummate professional. We would recommend her to anyone for top-notch service. She is also very pleasant and personable.

Each time, Kathy provided a very accurate estimate of the time required for the project. She charges by the day - we paid $275 per day- very reasonable. She provides an estimate of the paint(s) required for the job and you are responsible for purchasing it. We agreed on the start date, we confirmed it the week before, and she arrived and left as scheduled, finishing the job on time. On the kitchen project, we asked her to add in painting of exterior doors that was not originally planned, and she was able to add it into the job. She works very neatly with no mess left behind at the end of the day. The results look great! We highly recommend her services.

This was our first Angie's list hire and we could not have been more pleased . .Kathy was everything you could hope for in a painter. she was timely, neat, efficient (completed work as promised). We had our kitchen done, including cabinets, wallpaper removal, walls doors, trim,etc. A definite A+ rating from us.

Kathy does a beautiful job and takes a lot of care to do it right. She stripped ancient wall paper, then resurfaced and lastly repainted. This involved old plaster walls that had some water damage in one corner, but she redid the area very smoothly. The room is transformed! Very knowledgeable, professional, responsive and reliable. Plus, she's a really pleasant person to have in your house!
