Greene Overhead Door

I started out getting quotes from Lowe's and Home Depot. We preferred the Clopays at Home Depot and were quoted $2579. Based on Angie's list favorable reviews, we contacted Joe Greene who immediately responded, measured and provided a quote of $2276 for the same doors (with Angie's list discounts and with me responsible for take away). Due to backup at the factory, there was a delay in getting the doors but that was not due to the fault of Greene's. Upon arrival, they were very professionally installed by Ken. Ken installed the doors with great care and with some extra effort as the old doors were nearly 40 years old and there was unevenness in the garage floor. Joe arrived and installed the proper gasket that could mitigate the uneven floor. Ken reattached the Sears door openers and adjusted everything accordingly. Ken is very conscientious and meticulous in each of the many steps taken to install the doors and often measured a couple of times to make sure everything lined up properly. My experience was fully in line with all the positive reviews on Angie's list and this is just one more positive review to add to the pile. Finally, since I had well maintained the old doors, painting them regularly, I decided to run them on Craig's list since that cost nothing and thought that instead of landing in a landfill that perhaps someone could re-use them. The wooden doors were advertised for several weeks and I received over 15 inquiries and was able to obtain my asking price of $160 in salvage for the two old doors, (in addition to avoiding a disposal charge of $100), reducing my $2276 a bit further. There is a much stronger secondary market for used garage doors than I had imagined and given the free advertising available on Craig's list, buyers with re-usable doors may wish to attempt to sell their doors to obtain some salvage value and avoid the cost of haul-away and disposal.

These guys are awesome. I called and scheduled an appointment for someone to come look at my garage door spring which had broken. I explained what was wrong over the phone and I was quoted a price. Jeff came promptly the next day and called before he came with a 30-45 minute window of time he would arrive. He showed up and looked at the spring, informed me of the problem and gave me the price which was exactly what was quoted to me over the phone. Jeff worked on the spring for one hour and showed me the finished product. The garage door works great and I am extremely pleased with the work that was done! I will definitely go with this company again for my garage door needs and if I need to replace my door in the future.

I had good past experience with this company before so I went straight to them for the door replacement. They were very responsive with the quote and provided enough detail for me to make a decision. Joe was also very responsive to my questions and very professional. The technicians who installed the door were very professional, did a good job of the installation and sealing the new door. They recycled my old door and and cleaned up after themselves. The only negative was a slight miscommunication on schedule but overall it was a pleasure doing business with this company. I would easily recommend them again.

Contacted company on an early Sunday evening as my door was broke with cars stuck inside. Joe came out for a quick fix to get my door open to remove my car so that I had a car the next morning. He then came back on Monday with another person and removed and replaced the torsion spring. He was responsive, professional and courteous.

The technician was prompt and easily corrected the problem I'd been having with the door. He also noticed that the door was cracked and made a simple, inexpensive repair that added about $10 - 15 to the cost of the service (far cheaper than replacing the door!). I don't remember the exact date of the service -- was sometime in 2014

We had a garage door malfunction in the midst of the winter. The door would not operate. Joe scheduled our repair extremely quickly. The whole procedure (from the initial call to the payment of the invoice) was seamless. We couldn't be happier with this company!

During the Winter of 2013-2014 my garage door started binding and sometimes would trip the safety on the opener and reopen when I was trying to close it. So in the spring and summer of 2014 started researching garage door companies. Found several prospects on Angies List with good reviews, and in early June, I called and left messages for two of them, on a Friday evening, I believe. Joe called me back on Sunday and we made an appointment on my next day off, later that week. The other company called a couple days later. I got both estimates - they were very close. Decided based mainly on the materials to be used, to have Greene Overhead Door do the job. My old door was at least 40 years old, heavy wooden panels, and the mechanism was just worn out. Decided to replace the whole shebang with new, insulated door panels and all hardware.. I was NOT disappointed. Door had to be ordered, and when it came in we promptly scheduled the job.to be done on my next day off from work. The technician, Mike showed up on time and got right to work, His helper showed up later that afternoon, Job was completed in just a few hours. Was able to reuse my existing opener, they just needed to make some adjustments and lubed the 25+ year old mechanism and it works great. A couple days later, I noticed the door was not sealing properly at the bottom, I called Joe and he advised with a low-clearance door, that can sometimes be a problem, so he sent over his technician, Jeff, on my next week-day off. Showed up on time and fixed the issue. Door has been working fine since. No problems over the Winter. I will be calling Green Overhead Doors within the next couple of months for a tuneup before Winter hits. I am very please with their work.

I sent an email to Greene Overhead Door using the emergency button on their website. I came home after work and when I tried opening my garage door, it started to open and then came slamming down. I could not lift it and I couldn't open my other door because I had unfortunately blocked it with brooms and rakes, etc. I had no way to get in the garage to see what had happened. I explained this in my email that I sent close to 7pm. In less than 5 minutes, Joe Greene responded to my email with a phone call !! How great is that?!! I explained my problem and he expected it was a broken spring or cable and said he would send Jeff to my home the very next morning! Joe was very friendly and understanding and exceeded all my expectations of what defines excellent customer service! The next morning, I spoke with Jeff to provide some information. He was just as friendly and professional and assured me he would take of everything. And he did just that and then some! He replaced all the springs, cables and pulleys on both of the doors!! He also went above and beyond by moving the items blocking the other door and he worked around a lot of other obstacles on that side of the garage! The garage door now works more smoothly and quietly than it ever has! And all at an extremely fair price!! I could not be more delighted with every aspect of this company and the employees I dealt with. This kind of customer service and work quality is a rarity these days and I send a HUGE thank you to Joe and Jeff.!! I HIGHLY recommend Greene Overhead doors and have already told many people about my experience. It was a real pleasure from start to finish!! I rate them an A++++ Thanks again :)

A little difficult setting up an appointment due to provider's existing workload, but we worked out a date that was fully satisfactory to me. They showed up on time and did a great job.

Excellent job. I called for service in the morning and the worker came that afternoon. They were courteous, efficient and professional. I would highly recommend this company.

There was a minor setback when the installer found out he had the wrong size panel. He had to go back to the shop & get the right one before starting. It ended up slowing down the installation by about two hours. About eight months after they installed the garage door, the remote would not work and the battery needed to be replaced. A couple of weeks ago the remote stopped working again so Greenes sent a technician out to replace the remote, figuring it may have been defective.

Joe Greene the owner tried to help me over the phone but we could not get it figured out so he sent out a technician to fix the problem. The technician checked my door and came to the conclusion that the plug had somehow been pulled out (Embarrassing!!)

Received quote quickly including a photo representation of the new doors on our garage. We had a number of choices as far as door style and opener. Communication was excellent and they were quick to respond to my questions. There was a slight delay in installation, but only a few days. Installation was quick and the doors look great. Smooth process, reasonable price, happy customers!

We were extremely pleased and impressed with Greene Overhead Doors. We called later in the evening, around 8 PM when we realized our garage door was broken, and Joe answered the phone immediately. We were relieved as he informed us this is a common problem and one that they can fix easily. The next morning they were at our house and it took around an hour to fix, which means the total turn around time from call to repair was less than 12 hours. Impressive! We would definitely recommend Greene Overheard doors. Fast, affordable and professional!

My situation was pressing as I could not operate the garage door to get the cars out. I called several companies many of whom told me it would be days. Greene's was able to send someone within 1/2 hour. I was concerned about price gouging, given my predicament. Greene's was reasonably priced, fast, fair, dependable, professional, and honest. The service technician, Jeff, knowledgable and very helpful. I would definitely Greene's again and recommend them to friends, family and neighbors.

The Tech arrived promptly and completed the job in one and a half hours.

I called Greene's and he told me that someone could be at my home within the hour. Jeff arrived in even less time. He showed me where the spring was broken and how it needed to be replaced. I left him to it and an hour later, I was able to get out of my garage. I am very thankful that he was prompt and efficient.

Joe Greene of Greene Overhead Doors sent his man Ken out to the house to try and fix our electric garage door opener which was not working properly. After some really best efforts to get our 20+ year old garage door opener to behave properly, it became clear that the old unit was a 'gonner'....so we decided to have Ken install a new electric garage door opener. This was on the coldest day of the year we've had so far (about 15 deg F.) and I was freezing just talking to Ken for 10 minutes in the garage....but the cold never phased him at all! He had our old unit and the long chain and track removed in no time at all and the new belt driven LiftMaster installed quickly and easily. I was surprised how quick he was able to do it and very surprised that the deep cold was not hindering his work at all. Amazing! Joe Greene, the owner, had told me that if his man tried to repair, there would be a $90 service call, but if we decided to go to a new unit, the charge would be $400 for the entire installation and removal of the old unit & long track (a nuisance for the home owner to dispose of!)...and that the $90 service call would not be charged on top of the $400, even though Ken spent some time trying to get the old unit working. This is a nice policy! These guys are great! They know their job and they know their equipment. Friendly, professional, fair and excellent work. Would give them my top rating and recommend them for anybody needing garage door opener repair or replacement. The new electric garage door opener is much better than our old one! This one is nice and quiet! Smooth operation! has TWO light bulbs to help light up the garage (much needed!), lifts our 400 lb double sized garage door with ease, came with 2 car remotes and has a LIGHT SWITCH on the wall button mounted in the garage next to the entry to the house which is a great plus also. The motor and new belt come with a lifetime warranty... who could ask for more! Thanks to Ken and Joe Greene for their great work and great communication skills!

Outstanding service. A cable broke on my garage door last night and the service tech arrived at 8am this morning. The service was excellent and the door works great. It is quieter than it has ever been. The price was $200 dollars which seemed reasonable for one hour of labor and the parts. I would definitely use them again.

Showed up when they said they would, looked everything over, and gave me a breakdown on what I would need, why, and how much it would cost. Did the work quickly and everything is working great now.

Initially responded to ad for garage door tuneup. Service was performed and door worked OK. Six months later was having trouble with door and called for service visit. Took two weeks and follow up call to get technician to visit. Was told door had to be replaced and would be contacted with quote. Three weeks later had to call back. No evidence that quote had been prepared. Was promised quote via email that evening. Never arrived. Provider obviously seriously overextended and/or disorganized.

The service provider was very proffesional. He showed up on time, inspected our two garage doors and did the necessary tune up. He explained the use of the safety lock and gave us some suggestions on the insolation of garage doors. Overall, we were very happy and pleased with the work and will definitley call Green Overhead Door again.

He did a general tune up & everything went well.
