Javier Ruiz Hardwood Flooring and Painting

Javier did an excellent job sanding and refinishing the floor. He is very experienced and does a great job at doing what the job entail. There was a problem after he finished the floor but Javier was able to rectify it in a timely manner and without going over budget. I recommend Javier and I would hire him again without question. The floor is BEAUTIFUL!! Our porch floor is 85 years old . If I could give a TRIPPLE A or more I would. Javier Ruiz is totally professional and knows what he is doing. I was looking for someone to refinish roughly 800 square feet of oak hardwood floor. Javier responded promptly to review the project and provide a cost estimate. We tried to sand and stain our own hardwood floors and it did not go well! We spent a fortune on equipment rental, sweated for over a week and it still looked really bad. It really is a labor-intensive job that needs experience and artistry to do well, especially in our 150 year old home with 10 year old oak plank downstairs and antique pine subfloor upstairs with a century of stains, paint splashes and multiple layers of carpet tacks embedded. We wanted a specific natural, rustic look that didn't look disjointed between the floors - some contractors said they didn't even want to touch the old flooring and recommended covering it up with new wood or laminate but Javier knew exactly what we were looking for and had photos of similar jobs that looked beautiful. He wasn't the cheapest quote but he had a great vision, photos to back it up and was very friendly and easy to work with. His crew were in and out in under a week and the floors look STUNNING. There was a lot of hand-work required to get it to the quality it is. They even cleaned up the dust left over afterwards, we were able to move furniture in right after they left. Javier is great to work with, and a master of his craft. I would not hesitate to recommend him for all your hardwood flooring needs!

Javier did a beautiful job refinishing the floors in our home. Upon his initial visit to provide an estimate, he measured the rooms and gave us a breakdown of the cost per section. He also brought in pieces of wood and stained them in front of me so that I could choose which color that I liked best. Javier did an amazing job rescuing our hardwood floors. There was a significant amount of staining and water damage from the home's previous owner, Javier was able to fix the damage and had the floors looking like new again. We highly recommend hiring him!

We contracted with Javier Ruiz to paint our outside decks, one of which is 40 feet long. He scraped and sanded where needed, power washed, and did two coats of paint over everything. We hired Javier Ruiz to refinish an original oak floor that had faded and had some water damage - the area was a combined living room and dining room. He did an excellent job in prepping the floor, sanding multiple times, staining, and then 2 coats of polyurethane. He obviously was extremely experienced in this area, and we are completely satisfied with the results. He was actually not our lowest bid, but he exuded much confidence and knowledge, so much so that we selected him to do the job. We expect to give him other business in painting as well.

Javier did a great job on our floors! He was always on time and explained all of the steps of the job beforehand. The sanding job was great - it took up all the stains! Javier was very helpful choosing a stain color - he went out of his way to get some extra samples from his truck so we could see additional examples on our floor. We never felt rushed and now the floor looks terrific! We plan to do some more flooring in the house and will definitely hire Javier again!

Javier was very reliable, flexible and patient doing the floors throughout my house in 3 different phases. When I first saw the stain and had doubts he was very patient and willing to do whatever I wanted. I ended up sticking with my original choice (gray stain) and am very happy. Javier did a great job and was a pleasure to work with.

Overall it was fair work because Javier damaged my walls when he installed the flooring but didn’t fix them also there are gaps on the flooring on the steps.

The job went well, and the floors looks fabulous! The contractor was very professional. Demonstrated good attention to detail. Did not rush and took pride in his work. Equipment accessories to control dust used. Very clean work. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Javier.

Javier removed carpeting including padding/tackless from stairs, landings and small loft. He also removed the old nosing on the stairs, removed and reinstalled the existing moldings. (We disposed of all materials removed including packaging and scraps from new installation). He estimated 2 1/2 days to complete. Javier was done in 3 days. Javier was conscientious and did a good job installing the new flooring. However, he left damage to the paint and wallboard, resulting in holes in the sheetrock, some of which he claimed was under the carpeting.
