I did use Petcosky for a water heater replacement a couple of years ago. I called and scheduled with them - they were prompt and on time given for arrival. The workman first checked the toilet, then retrieved parts he needed from his truck and began repairs - efficient and cleaned up after himself. I will definitely be using them in the future and would recommend them.

A strifgh forward service call completed promptly

The technician was very prompt and cleaned the furnace. Humidifier needs a cellanoid and it was ordered and will be installed later.

They did a very professional job, preserving some existing cabinetry that they had to work around.

Setting up an appointment was very easy and the plumber showed up promptly at 7:45am ..He was very courteous and got to work immediately.The job was completed within one half hour. He was also kind enough to show us how to read the controls on our new water softener.. We were very pleased with their service..

Petcosky installed a complete new Carrier furnace, heat pump, air clearner, humidifier and thermostat. In bidding for the job they performed a very complete assessment of the heating and cooling needs of the house using measurements and a software program. They also did an estimate of energy savings for the new system as compared to old. The equipment they installed was from the Carrier Infinity line, Carrier's top end. They tore out the old system, installed new furnace and air plenum, new exhaust pipe, and new piping to air conditioner condenser unit outside. The two technicians spent 3 days completing the job, and their workmanship was first rate. The system has performed beautifully in the house. It's quiet, it heats and cools well, and both the humidifier and dehumidification functions are effective. The system was pricey -- much more than a leading, heavily advertised competitor estimated, but after doing a little research, I found that Petcosky's equipment (Carrier) was far superior to the competitor's brand (considered to be low- to middle-end in the HVAC industry). Bottom line - absolutely first rate job, highly recommended. I also am experiencing energy savings similar to what was estimated by Petcosky, so I'm very pleased to have invested in quality equipment.

Things went good. They arrived on time, the unit appeared to work efficiently and they completed the job in the time quoted.

They have been prompt and efficient. They have done service for me a couple of times over the last couple of years. I was calling one time to address an issue and it wasn't a problem. They dealt with it fine and it worked well. They installed a gas line well. They were right there on top of the emergency I had. They have done my hot water heater, boiler, and kitchen remodel. They are expensive.

The serviceman was excellent. He was very professional. He got the work done quickly.

Their service was great and the price was reasonable. I would use them again in the future.

They are a pretty good company. I think that they are responsible. They did the best job they could and were competent in finding the problem. The overall experience was excellent. They were punctual, responsive, and professional. They are friendly and good to deal with. I would use this company again. I liked that I was able to get a rebate because it was a energy efficient product.

The first time I called Petcosky, it was late on a Sunday night and I expected a visit early in the next week. To my surprise, a service tech (Russ?) showed up within 1/2 hour, agreed with the diagnosis of a faulty starter capacitor and had the unit back up and running within the hour for $160 - not bad particularly considering the time of night and the outside temperature. He was pleasant (especially considering he had been roused from a warm bed on a cold night) and very knowledgeable. While there, he mentioned that the blower motor was "sticky" and should probably be replaced. I ordered a motor from BuyPlumbing.net for $100 including shipping for two day delivery. When I followed up two days later, I discovered that they now had a three week back order on the part. Then called HVAC Parts Outlet which showed the motor for $96 plus shipping - however it was impossible to contact them by phone. Ditto for backlogs at other HVAC sites - this is the first time i have not been able to find reasonably priced appliance repair parts. There was a used motor on e-bay for $150, but I decided not to go that route. Super Bowl Sunday, the existing motor crapped out - and a call was put in to Petcosky again. This time the service ($86 for a service call, whether or not any work is done) was nowhere near as speedy and the repair person (not Russ) made a cursory exam before declaring the motor was shot, he didn't have a replacement and we should call the office Monday. If this had been the first contact with Petcosky, it would have been the last. Fortunately, I called Lynn (and Tom) in the office and we discussed options - this motor has a unique mount and none of their stock motors could be installed without modifications - and Petcosky doesn't make modifications since that would make them, rather than the furnace manufacturer, responsible if anything "bad" happened After some goose chases, a replacement motor was located in Buffalo which could be flown in over the weekend for another $95 in shipping - what's another couple of bucks when it's freezing outside? Apparently, the furnace gods had not yet been placated because of all the flights which left Buffalo on time Monday, the plane carrying the motor was not one of them. The motor did arrive the next day and an appointment was made with the installer. The next tech was the same high caliber as the 1st tech - personable, knowledgeable and efficient. The motor was promptly installed and the furnace fired right up. Bottom line, we paid about $700 for three service calls, a new capacitor and blower motor. Since the entire furnace wholesales for $1,000, if it had been summer, we probably would have replaced the furnace ourselves. And, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Buying something in pieces is always MUCH more expensive than buying the whole. So, why did I struggle with this review? In my opinion, the 2nd service tech lowered ratings for responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism by at least one letter grade. On the other hand, the other two techs were great, the office staff supportive and the initial service call truly outstanding. If the ratings permitted it, I would have rated everything other than price an "A-" (and hope you don't get the middle tech, at least not on Super Bowl Sunday), price a "B" (but, in line with the market) and overall an "A-", with explanation. I would use Petcosky again (hope not to have to any time soon!), but would ask for a tech other than Malcolm in the Middle. Bottom line - if it's cold inside and outside and you can't wait for a weekday (service calls are 1/2 the weekend price), these are the people to call. If it's summertime and you are somewhat handy, do the job yourself and save a few bucks - but, that's true for most things these days!

I arranged for the service prior to a new countertop/sink installation. The pipes had to be reconnected to the new sink. The plumber arrived on time and got right to work. Quite pleased with the service and would use them again.

Everything went very smoothly and the work was completed in two days. There was a problem with the new thermostat but it was replaced as soon as they discovered it.

The gentleman was very good, but measured the shower door incorrectly, and wanted to shift blame for that to thers. It took quite a long while, about a week. Not what I expected. The carpentry was good, but the man doing the plumbing part ruined it for her. I would only use the plumbing part of the business in the future.

The people are very nice and I have not had any major plumbing problems. They come when they say they will and clean up after themselves. They seem competent, friendly and reliable. I will use them again in the future.

The workman arrived on time, did a great job, and left. What more could you ask for. :-)

Overall, the work turned out great. It was perfect. The guy that they sent saw an additional leak while fixing our water heater. We had a broken faucet. He didn’t completely fix it but he managed to make the leak stop. He felt like it was bothering him and he didn’t charge us for it.

I had to keep calling them back because the leak would start again as soon as they would leave. I almost felt like they were blaming me for the leak. I think the price was too high considering nothing was ever fixed. I wasn't satisfied with their work and I had to get someone else out here to correct the problem that they had started. They were here when they said they would be but I would never use them again.

I called about 10:30 AM and had a repair man in my house before noon. He was polite and went right to work. It was all taken care of beautifully by 2:20 PM. I could not be more pleased with the way I was treated or the work I received. I will certainly use them again.

The repair work was excellent. The problem could not be fixed from the bathroom wall so an opening had to be made on the outside wall. The Plumber said it would take a couple of hours to make the opening (take down paneling and cut through plaster and lathe boards). If I felt comfortable, he said I could save myself 2 hours labor, do the work myself then call back when the opening was made (which I did). This was in the morning and later that morning I called back (after cutting through the wall) to have him come back to fix the problem. He came back that afternoon and made the repairs.
