Kiefer-Randall Construction & Remodeling LLC

Kiefer Randall built a carport for our home to provide safe mobility for my family. After delays (due to not only having to get a variance granted , not only involving our town Zoning board , but the COUNTY as well - OH JOY!! Kiefer Randall was finally able to construct a carport to specifications set forth by both government entities. We have used Kiefer Randall multiple times. We found them on Angie's List. Each and EVERY time, Jim Randall and his team have always been very thorough and professional, from the initial planning stages to the final completion. They have always explained the process in layman' terms and have always kept us apprised throughout. There were a few bumps in the road due to something out of their control but they quickly resolved it to our satisfaction. We first contacted Jim in the summer. He will know immediately who is writing this review because hubby and I fondly referred to this as the project from Hades...only because of the government. No big surprise there. Well, we have our carport and are once again extremely happy with the professionalism of Jim, Cody (project manager), and the entire crew. The carport looks fantastic and I feel so relieved that our driveway will be safer during our harsh winters. We also know if we have any concerns - unlikely, because they do quality work - that Jim will take care of it for us. Jim accompanied me to the Zoning appeals meeting and got it done. Believe me - it wasn't an easy process. But Jim is very good at his job. He, Cody and the crew were a pleasure to work with. You hear so many horror stories about contractors and construction companies. I will tell you this is NOT the case with Kiefer Randall. We can't recommend them highly enough!!!

they did a very good job ripping everything out of the bathroom and replacing a new tub and shower, new toilet , tile walls and floor tile. They replaced the floor with sub flooring and parts of the wall that was bad. very happy with the whole job.

I met with Jim Randall (one of the owners) in March to discuss repair work needed on and existing two story deck. What impressed me from my initial meeting with Jim was his honesty. Having met with/gotten quotes from several contractors, Jim was in the minority of people who were clear on what needed to be done to address the problem. At no time did you imply "fudging" the work instead stressing what was needed to complete the job properly. I had time limitations on when the job could be done and Kiefer-Randall were very accommodating to these needs. Work began in July with the removal of the screen porch ceiling. At this point it was discovered that we had several unforeseen problems and the job was going to take a bit more work to complete. Kiefer-Randall was clear about what needed to be done but also responsive to cost concerns until we found an agreed alternative to fix the problem. The work was completed within a week, which was impressive given how much was done. The three gentlemen who worked on the job were outstanding. They answered every question, explained exactly what they were doing, cleaned up the site at the end of each day, and were all around excellent. I feel it is important to particularly single out Jo who lead work on the job. When we had a surprise rain storm Jo came out late in the evening to cover the house. He was attentive to my desire to maintain the historic integrity of the porch while also having it be functional. I used to go out on the deck every once in a while but I now find myself out there every day. These guys really built a place I enjoy spending time and I would absolutely use them again.

These guys are the best around. They stand behind their work and respond immediately to remedy any problems. In fact, Tim Kiefer outreached to me after I mentioned a small item on my last review here. Needless to say, I am very pleased and would highly recommend them for any job that you want done in a timely, high quality, and professional way..

I've used Kiefer Randall in the past and have been impressed with their professionalism and involvement with your project. Suggestions received and incorporated regarding shelving were great. Clean up was great. Quote was exact per work order. Time of the year (Dec) was lousy to paint, but they were able to get it done in any event by bringing a heater. Only small negative was the lack of patching of holes and seams in wall before it was painted.

Excellent. Very punctual. Worked Satuday & Sunday's most weekends to ensure deadlines. Worked really well with flooring folks.

There were a couple of setbacks involving the replacement window measurements and some schedule delays causing the project to take much longer than anticipated. However, due to other circumstances going on in our lives at the time this was actually a good thing for us and not really a negative factor! The quality of the work was excellent and the completed project met all our expectations and more! We have had numerous compliments from neighbors walking by as well as family members and friends. We are enjoying the porch as much as the weather allows! It's also nice to see more clearly through the new windows! K & R were professional and did quality work. I believe the project delays hurt them more than us and that's too bad since it probably ate into their bottom line. I expect that if we had a need for another project down the road we would consider K & R as one of our top choices!

Very good, except one item not completed.

Spoke with and arranged for them to fix all the mistakes the other contractor left undone. Very professional, well meaning crew who helped move everything out of room. Fixed and repaired all the areas where water had come in from the roof. Painted ceilings and walls. Cleaned up afterward. I had no problems and would hire them again and again.

The project was finishing an "attic" room. We selected a different company for this particular project at this particular time (we interviewed 4 contractors), but would not hesitate to have Kiefer-Randall do future projects at our home.

It went well, had some snags that were evident when things were opened up but they were explained and questions answered. This was a bit of a complicated plumbing addition but things are working well. It was on scheduale and staff (Joe and Scott, Cody) went out of their way to see that things were done correctly.

It's not completed yet. They're very good. I would use them again in the future.

They did a nice job. They were very conscientious, continued to check up on everything, and communicated very well. I would definitely use them again.

Kiefer-Randall did an outstanding job with our addition. They set up a great team that stayed with us throughout the effort, and kept us informed. The team lead let us know if there were any issues, and also gave us some great suggestions. The manager worked with us to keep costs down, including allowing us to purchase significant items ourselves in order to avoid additional pass-through costs. The quality of their work was excellent - We couldn't be happier with the results!

I used Angie?s List as well as other available resources to research and pick a builder to do a sizable building addition to my existing residential building. Many did not qualify; of the two that did, one took four weeks for an oral estimate; it was almost as much as what I had originally paid for the house 10 years ago! The only well qualified and within the budget contractor was Kiefer-Randall Construction & Remodeling. From the conception phase to design and implementation of the project, Kiefer-Randall always delivered; co-owner of the company, Jim Randall?s customer relations remained at a professional level throughout the project; whether providing expedited answers to any and all inquiries or filing required "code" paperwork or attending "variance" hearings, Jim has always been supportive. During the construction phase some issues had to be Verified In Field (according to the architect) thus resulting in change order submissions; Kiefer-Randall was both receptive and responsive to any such changes. All changes dealing with code compliance were swiftly implemented by the Project Manager and Craftsman. The quality of the job speaks for itself; being a handyman myself, I approved every stage of the construction as it progressed! The overall pricing was also fair. Kudos on a job well done!!!

They came out and gave me an estimate but unfortunately, I decided that I really did not want to get the work done. But they did a good job. The man who came out was a professional, did a great job, appoint everything to me, and we got a good conversation, so, I would give them a rating of A. They did not actually end up having the work done, so, I cannot give any feedback on how the quality works but his professionalism was good. They were really good. They got pass with me right away also a message. He was very essential of the message, got back to me, said he was going to be here at a certain time, was here at that time, prompt, and told me that he was ready for me very soon and made me an email. That works out very well. They were here right exactly when they said they would be. If I had something some other work I needed to have done, I would finally give them a call one of the first people I think.

I was promised that the kitchen would be done prior to me leaving for a few weeks for work. I did not want my mom to take care of my kids while under construction. Well do to one excuse to another it was not done. I was angry and was getting mad with the middle ma, then one of the owners grabbed the phone and was yelling at me when He had never met me nor dii he take the time to see why I was mad. I felt like I had no control on what was happening to my kitchen afraid they wouldn't finish the job. I couldn't wait for this job to be done and I felt the workers just cut corners to get the job done. I noticed a long thin crack in my new cupboard when I went to input the shelf in, nicks in the sheetrock (not nail holes that I was to fill) when I mentioned it I was told how to patch it.. I also paid all this money for a contractor/designed and when I was done I only have ONE drawer in my kitchen. My fault I was excited about al the new things going in like dishwasher that I didn't pay attention for what I was removing. But I could have made room for drawers in original plans if noticed by professional designer. I was ready for them to be out of my house. Overall you look at my kitchen it looks a lot better. But paid way too much for the service I got and work done on house.

That went well. They did a good job. They were timely and they cleaned up after themselves. I don't remember what they charged but it was fair.

Went very well, very professional and resulted in a better finished project even though I used another company to do the work.

We contracted a full kitchen remodel with Kiefer-Randall and were thrilled with the entire process. They removed an island, raised a section of ceiling, added a wall and new door frame, installed several doors, rotated a closet, installed new cabinetry, added in custom shelving, installed electric outlets, installed new lighting, shortened an inset shelving box, offered timely and good advice, and did it all with a smile. I cannot speak too highly of the crew that was sent to my home each day. The crew did not rotate so I became comfortable with the staff in my home. Their work and demeanor was constantly professional. They took pride in their work and took care of our kitchen every evening by sweeping and keeping the work zone cleaned. It helped our home feel livable throughout the process. This is a company that hires quality staff who cares about the details of your home. So many little touches went in to this project, and I'm so thankful for the care the crew took to keep me in the loop throughout. This was our first major home renovation, and because we have heard so many horror stories, we braced ourselves for several months of frustration. Even with change orders though, the crew finished up on time and the process was next to painless. The worst part was having to wash dishes in the bathtub.

Jim was very responsive and professional and spent a long time with us discussing the job. He took many pictures and measurements and provided a very detailed and professional estimate that was obviously created using a professional grade software package, so I had great confidence in the accuracy of the quote. When the quote took a little longer to get to me than he had promised, Jim called me several times to update me. Even though we selected another contractor, Jim's work was very professional and I would absolutely contact this company in the future to discuss future work. The price was competitive too. Thanks, Jim, for a positive experience. I saw this company on Angie's list and contacted them based on the reviews.

They were average. They showed up and did some work. I had a problem so I called them back, they came back and they fixed it. I'm having the same problem now.

It was a very good experience. He was very professional and honest. I decided not to do the work. The bid was $30,000 but I was going to do a lot. He didn't do a formal bid. He gave me ideas. I appreciated that he didn't bug me afterwards.

The work went very well. Initially there was some difficulty in fitting the door. However, the crew & crew supervisor quickly arrived at a means to overcome the problem. There was a minimum disruption to the office routine and the noise level was not too loud. After the installation was complete the crew completely cleaned the work area and removed all debris. We have several other projects in mind and will again call on Kiefer - Randall to perform the work

We could not be happier with this company. They were up front, went over the contract line by line. The staff who came to do the work were kind, knowledgeable, knew what they were doing. They came out and got up on the roof to find the problem. Within five minutes, they could see the problem. They came to fix the flashing. Needed to take off part of the roof and the siding in order to place one continuous piece of flashing. They went up and around the dormer . We were told that he put other materials on, so this would not happen again. We will be hiring Kiefer & Randell to fix the inside, when we can. I would give their name to anyone who wants good work done.
