Description of Work: The good thing was they came early and called first. |The second good thing is they made a point to answer our questions. | |The bad thing was the answers were often in 'contractor speak so verbage that we werent familiar with,,, hence asking the questions..' | |THe second bad thing was they quoted us about 4 times what everyone else has been quoting us. | |The third bad thing was the 'salesman' was very salesy and kept making obvious 'pitches' "what can I do to become your contractor today,, would you call us your contractors". | |Finally he kept referring to a warranty but couldnt specify what it included and what it didnt, and how long it applied. He'd say 'lifetime' but then say 'except this this this and this'... so not very reassuring. | |And when we didn't bite right away, he came up with 10% discount,, one for agreeing IN the moment (Sales BS),, and one for putting a sign on my lawn (If you do a great job I'll be all over putting your sign up for weeks). | |and he didn't leave a copy of his quote so we could review it together later. | |Not impressed.

Description of Work: Vinal siding. Only one man on job.

Description of Work: I was unable to change the date to go as far back as I would have like. The experience was as least ten-twelve years age. |We had a sun room put onto the back of our house by Rott. It immediately was a leaking problem. We called to try to get repairs etc. done at the time and could never get a response. Years later Rott Sr. called our home in an apparent search for drumming-up business from past customers. When I confronted him with our problem-a leaking sun room for many years, with no resolution-not even a return phone call, he stammered, never said, "Oh, I'll send someone out, or gee I'm sorry"-no, he just stammered and thanked me and hung up. Still never any help or even acknowledgement. |We have tried many, many things, our sun room still leaks, and along the way while trying to resolve the problem,we found improperly done flashing among other issues.-A very poor job!!!

Description of Work: We had first contracted Wm C. Rott & Son to install a vent in the roof, but when they got up there they discovered the substandard job the previous roofer did 10 years ago. Steven showed us pictures of the mess and our $2500 job turned into a $15,000 job. They gave us a lot of information, demonstrated what was wrong and gave us time to think about it, since it was a major expense we were not prepared for. |We are happy with the work they did even though it cost a lot. We didn't get another price quote b/c they showed us and explained everything, and they were up there anyway, and most importantly, knew what they were doing and were professional. Job was finished quickly and they cleaned up absolutely everything, including in the attic where some old insulation fell down. |We hope the roof lasts the rest of our lives, but if not, we would call them again, and would recommend them to family & friends.

Description of Work: replace missingshingles

Description of Work: Windows seem to be of good quality; however, the tops of 14 out of 17 windows had to be re-done because the installer left a large gap where the metal is tucked into the j channel of the siding.Tthe bottom windows were done perfectly- my husband noticed the the gaps on the 2nd floor windows when he was on the roof cleaning the gutters. There was also drops of caulking on the roof and about 20 old nails on the ground which my husband had to clean up. They did come out right away to re-do the windows; I was also given two gift cards to the restaurant of my choice.

Description of Work: A representative came and measured my house and garage for siding. I also needed some repair work done. He took pictures of the work that needed to be done. He said he would show the pictures to his supervisor and give me a price. After two weeks I called the company and said I was still waiting for a price quote. The lady that answered the phone said they are out on a job and would get back to me. It has now been over two months and I still have not heard from them. They should have at least called me and said they were too busy or what ever thier excuse was. I am very disappointed in this company and I believe others should know about thier lack of professionalism. When they made the appointment to come and measure they made sure I was home and called a few times to remind me they would be at my house. The representative showed up a little late, but that is not a problem. The problem is they never gave me an estimate. What a shame.

Description of Work: remove the previous roof and install a new roof

Description of Work: I asked WC ROTT for a roof estimate. The encounter was pleasant and the representative seemed knowledgeable and professional. However, to my surprise, I never got a response back from the company regarding the estimate, even after I left the gentleman a message. I was left with an impression from the meeting that I could not afford the job or a new roof was not needed yet. If this is a reflection of the work that would have been done, I am glad I did not hire them to perform the job.
