Precision Painting Plus

This is the second time im reviewing this job. Why?

Precision Painting did a great job! They were courteous, professional, and overall the work performed was up to expectations. Would definitely use again and recommend.

I think it went okay. I had one painter and it took a littler longer than what I expected. I would have liked to have seen a little bit more with the coats of painting they put on. Based on the time in the job was done and the area they needed they did an okay job.

Went well. Had minor issues that were addressed as soon as they were mentioned.

I highly recommend getting an in person estimate BEFORE blindly purchasing "a deal". I bought a special not knowing how long it would take to paint my boys bedroom. They definitely completed the project but I think I overpaid for the supplies they purchased on my behalf. I had a discussion with "dispatcher" when I set up the deal to advise that I just wanted to cover my boys room which had purple paint. I was preparing to put the apartment on the market. He said he was glad I told him that because it would influence the quality of paint he'd recommend. The night before "the dispatcher" called me to rehash the conversation because we either misplaced the info or something. I learned my lesson, read a review that suggested to get an in person estimate and hired another painter to paint the living room in my new house that is 3-4x the size with less paint and only slightly more cost of service. Lesson learned.

Let me first preface the fact that this job was the final stage of a major renovation. This is my second major renovation, so I have a lot experience in dealing with contractors and generally have very good experiences, this though is not one of them. Ken and Alex came out for the original estimate. Ken seemed very knowledgeable about painting. In fact Ken's knowledge was one of the reason's that we went with PPP. Prior to the job start there were some changes to the original contract that actually ended up with PPP having a bigger job. Even though they were accommodating to the rescheduling, the problem is that once the contract was signed, Ken fell into the background and Alex took over the job. You will learn quickly that Alex is new to the painting business and has a fraction of the knowledge that Ken does. Per the contract, PPP was to provide all the paint at my cost. The original time frame for the project was 4-5 days with about 4-5 workers. I told them that I wanted everything to be repaired perfectly, I even approved skim coating where ever they said I would need it. When the project started, Alex only put 2 workers on the job, which wasn't the worse thing as they moved from room to room painting and did accommodate our family. This caused the project to take 7 days instead of 4-5. Every day the painters "cleaned" up the room and left is accessible for our family, but the problem was that is was so dusty and dirty that is was not usable. In fact every day after they left, I had to clean up and run air purifiers so that my family wasn't inhaling all the dust from the sanding. Their clean up job is unacceptable. They spilled paint on a chair in my daughters room because it was not covered. To their credit they gave me a credit for the cost. The real problem happened as the project came to completion. When we inspected the final job, they did a very poor job of prepping the walls. There were obvious imperfections throughout the house and where they did to wall repair, it was not blended with the existing wall in way that a professional painter should be capable of. They kept giving me excuse after excuse how I should have skim coated here and skim coated there to make it perfect. I gave them one goal, to do what they needed to do to make everything perfect, not once did I mention cost limitations. Even without skim coating, some of the repairs should have been fixed and blended. They even screwed up painting a brand new, never been painted before wood door... It was splotchy and like many of the other doors, had drips. Then I find the they painted over old oil based paint with out properly preparing the surfaces. I told them no oil based paint due to VOCs (pregnant wife, young kid and a dog). This caused massive peeling 1 day after they completed the job. At this point I had Ken get back involved because Alex obviously screwed up and was running out of excuses, and he was always rescheduling appointments at the last minute to walk through the final project. Ken had arranged to have his guys come back out and fix all the damages and poor jobs, this took them an extra 4 days. So now the 4-5 day project took 11days. These means 11 days of my 2 year old daughter having to leave the house and having to make accommodations for my dog. Even after these extra 4 days. the paint job was acceptable, not even good. Acceptable. The problem was that I could not keep disturbing my family to accommodate their paint team to get everything in good condition. Now, about 4-6 weeks after the job is complete I have cracking paint and peeling paint in many of the spots that they worked on. It looks like they painted over more oil based paint without proper surface prep. There is a guarantee in their contract, but my wife is 8.5 months pregnant and cannot relocate the whole family again to accommodate their painting crews, not to mention clean up after them, to fix a job that should have lasted longer then 2 months. I did reach out to the corporate offices about this issue and was told one of the upper management would call me back because she was out of the office, but there was never a call back. PPP maybe acceptable for a little job, but for a big job they are simply not talented enough to get the job done in a high quality way. In addition, the project manager, Alex has poor communication skills and has very little knowledge of the painting profession. There were other providers I got estimates from that have impeccable reviews, I would have been better served with them.

It went very well, the team was able to complete a very large job in one day. Very clean, courteous and professional. I would definitely use them again.

Precision Painting did an excellent job from start to finish. I would highly recommend them and I will be using them for future work to come. The Project manager Ken was very professional, knowledgeable and responsive. The painters (Kiko and Philipe) friendly, neat and did an excellent job of painting area I gave them.

The color suggested my Alex for our living area which is collingwood ( a grey color) is really beautiful. He actually came to my house and put many colors on the wall for us to see for us to decide what colors we really wanted. The same happened with the flooring in that they put several stains down and let us decide what worked best for us. They did try to remove as much of the paint they spilled on the floors and correct any work that was as bit too sloppy. Overall pretty decent. Some headaches but our house does look much better than before...

Precision Painting did a fantastic job. They were extremely professional and thorough. I would highly recommend them.

They were at my home a week ago to fix what was messed up the first time. There were two separate painting jobs that were done and with both of them their was a problem. I wasn't told what the extent of the work would be. Somebody came to my home before the work began and I was told incorrectly what was needed. I was told by the manager Alex I would need two gallons of paint for to coats. They never used the second gallon and there are bare spots on the wall. I should have been told it would take more than eight hours. I have no problem paying the additional $50 per additional hour, but I was never told it would be more than a eight hour job. Even though they stayed late they didn't do a second coat. In the bathroom there was paint on the floor, the wall lines were crooked, drip marks on the door and sky light and paint on the walls. I was told once the eight hour voucher was expired who could not do any more painting even though the job stunk and was finished. The painter basically sacrificed quality for time. I was on the phone with the owner, but he was non compromising about fixing what still remains to be fixed only stating they would come back, but would have to charge me.

I purchased a special deal, 299.00 for 8 hours of painting/labor. I was told the painter could do that size bedroom in 8 hours. The painter arrived on time and got started right away. 11 hours later he finished. The job took longer b/c some areas needed several coats of paint. The Project Manager, Alex, checked in during the time the painter was here to make sure all was going well. I was concerned about the time overage but was told I'd only be charged for 1 extra hour (50.00)when it was actually 3 extra hours the painter worked due to unforeseen circumstances(the extra coats of paint needed on baseboards and walls) The Benjamin Moore paint was purchased by Precision Painting Plus after I selected the color and they provided the drop cloths, brushes, rollers, & prep material to do the job. I spent the initial 299.00 for the Angie's List Deal with Precision Painting Plus. $130.00 for paint. 50.00 for extra labor. Definitely worth it! Not having to buy everything needed and then having to actually do the job!!! I would definitely use Precision Painting Plus of Westchester again in the future.

Alex and Jason came on Monday to evaluate the job and answer any questions. Umberto showed up promptly at 9am on Thurs. morning to start. He first came to introduce himself and see the areas that needed work. Minutes later he appeared with his cart full of every possible thing he would need for the job. He quickly and efficiently set up his work area and took great care in protecting the floors and furniture. A true professional and very efficient....quality painter!!! Shortly after Umberto's arrival, Alex came to touch base and make sure things were running smoothly. Definately would recommend and use these guys again.

The estimator and painter were professional and efficient, arrived as promised and left everything neat and clean. When a small problem arose after they left, they came back the next day and addressed it. I was very satisfied and will definitely use them in future.

They painted two rooms, the kitchen and the dining room. For speed and pricing, they were fine. But the quality of their work was not awesome. There was very awkward, I would say that was less the painter and more the project manager because the project manager pushed them to finish it super fast and they did a sloppy job. I had them come back and do repairs but on round two they didn't cover properly so I've got paint all over my brand new hardwood floors. I've got spots that still aren't done correctly. I'm not super happy about that. The project manager didn't actually manage the project and the quality suffered because of that. It was very awkward for me as the home owner to be subject to his berating his colleague. I didn't want them back in my house.

They contacted me in a very timely manner. I explained to the the job and the approximate dimensions of the room, and they said that it shouldn't be a problem. They scheduled a day to work at my house for the following week; I was happy that they were available within a week or so of our conversation. However, as soon as they got to my house, they told me that there was no way that they would be able to finish the job in one day. RIght away, they tried to get me to agree to pay for another day. I had already moved all of my furniture away from the walls or out of the room. I thought about it for a minute or so, and said 'ok', that I would pay for another day at the same rate that I had paid for that day. Oh no, they said, they couldn't possibly do it for that price; they wouldn't even cover the cost of one painter for the day at that price. So, the $299 was basically a hustle. It was their loss leader becasue they would then sell you another day (or few days) at a much higher price once you were stuck. Once you'd already moved your furniture, and it would be impossible to get another painter to finish the other half of the job the next day. It became clear to me that they were never going to do the job for the price that I'd paid on Angie's List. It was a very unprofessional tactic. (I did not pay them to finish, by the way - I waited until another painter was available the following week. On principal alone, I just couldn't buy the extra day from them, even though having all of the furniture piled in a huge mess in the middle of my room for the better part of ten days was a huge pain.) As for the painting job, it was adequate. About what you'd expect for $299/day. The painter did complain a lot about the paint that I'd purchased from Home Depot; saying that the drip marks were due to the paint quality. It was the top Home Depot paint brand, which I know is not high-end, but neither was a $299/day paint job going to be top of the line.

We recently had our bow windows replaced (5 panels), and the window frames were unfinished wood. Precision Painting Plus was running a promotion on Angie's List for $299 for an 8-hour day of painting, so we figured it would be perfect to have them paint our new bow windows, as well as the baseboards and windows in the master bedroom. There were no hassles setting up the appointment, and the painter arrived on-time and was very friendly. He did a great job, and we are very pleased with the results.

An estimator arrived and told me the project may require a "couple" additional hours at $35/hour, to which I agreed. The painting started out well and then slowed to a crawl. At the end of the day the living room was no where near complete, and the painter told me that it would probably require 2 additional days! We negotiated the final price and my husband admittedly 'hurried" them in the end. However, we were left with paint splatters on every door and on the carpet (even though it is an old carpet). In the end, I decided to go with my regular painter, who is more expensive but does a good job for the rest of the house. The "deal" really wasn't such a "deal."

Ken and Alex were SUPERB! From first meeting Ken for an estimate to Alex Project Manger I couldn't be more pleased. There we no hidden anything?Alex was very easy to communicate with?returned calls asap and showed up on time every day?workers left my house clean and were pleasant...both Ken and Alex were very accommodating and took pride in the end result... VERY PROFESSIONAL!...You're the BEST!!!

I had a flood in my apartment and needed to repaint my walls. I had a special paint job done years ago and wanted to replicate what I already had. However, the finish I had on my walls was discontinued so I had to decide on a new finish. I met with Kevin to choose colors and an alternative finish. He was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I went with his suggestion and was very pleased with the end result. Alex and the crew were timely and professional. The work only took two days and they did a great job!

Extremely responsive and very fair pricing quick to respond and gave us an immediate start date! Could not be happier.....very pleasant easy and great service ! Recommend highly!

I first meet with Ken, he was very helpful and informative on what they were going to be actually doing. Ken, I, Alex and his crew did a walk through with me going into detail on how they were going to deal with the rust, cracks and water stains and matching colors. I was very pleased by how proffessional everyone was and how the whole procedure went. They started on the day and time that they initially told us. They also completed the job in a timely manner and they left our clinic extremely clean. Everyone in our staff and our patients were so happy with the outcome. We even had some water spots that because of what a great job they did is not even recongnizable any longer. What a pleasure it was to have a great company like Precision Painting Plus come and make our Medical clinic look the best it can. When my other clinics are do for a painting I will deffinitely know who I will turn to.
