Reuben, the owner of "Dustless..." came first and wrote up an estimate for us. We got a lot of information from him then, and his emphatic reassurance that "dustless" really meant dustless was the selling point for me. All of the other companies told us we would have to cover everything and put up some kind of plastic barrier between the parts of the house not being done (which would have been difficult for us as the doorway ceilings are cathedral height!) With Dustless, I did not have to remove pictures from the walls or clothing from the closets, as long as they had access to the floors. No "barriers" were necessary. Since we were doing a large portion of our house, the less moving around, draping furniture, etc. the better, so this was a good benefit for us. We set a date for several weeks later, and when we had to make a slight change in the date, Reuben accommodated us with no problems. He and his 2 man crew arrived Day 1 of the 3 and a half day project, and went over the job with us before hooking up their machines and starting the sanding part of the job. This part was noisy, but my husband, I, and our pets moved into the downstairs family room for a few days, and it was tolerable. The first night we had no problem with the odor, as no polyurethane had been applied yet. Days 2 and 3 were the polyurethane days, and yes, there was some strong odor, but it was ok as long as we kept the area we were in well-ventilated. The workers were very focused on the work - no one was taking breaks or hanging around, everyone was doing their job. Reuben inspected their work and I know he took the time to redo a part that was not up to his own standards - the wooden thresholds. On the last day (a Saturday morning!), Reuben and my husband went through the house together to check on everything. Reuben was the last person in the house, applying the final coat of 3 coats of poly. The floors are really beautiful, beyond what I expected. The floors had not been so much as polished for 40 years, and they are dazzling now! There were a few things that needed attention after the job was done, but I spoke with Reuben and they are being resolved with no problem. I had expected that I would need to do some touch-up painting on the stair risers and on some of the trim (I did), but that would have happened with any refinisher, I suspect. So I would not really call that an issue at all. All in all, we were extremely pleased with their work and I would highly recommend them to anyone. The price was within a few hundred dollars of the other 3 estimates I got (LeBeau, DeRycke, San-Den) and the decision to go with Dustless was based primarily on the "dustless" aspect of the work. I am happy with the choice, and there really was very very little dust to deal with at the end. Oh - Reuben also cheerfully allowed me to use the 5% Angie's List coupon, even though I forgot to mention it ahead of time, which was a nice little bonus!

I contacted Ron & he responded within a few hours. I was able to set everything up through texting pics & measurements. Arrived on time as scheduled & the work was completed as promised. I felt the price was fair as I added on more work than was originally requested, but I was not hammered by a change order. The floors look great. I will be calling again.

Good except they got a stain on the white board in many places, will have have someone come in re-paint the boards.

We contracted with Ron to sand, stain and do 3 coats of poly on approximately 800 square feet of pine flooring in our home. We planned a vacation while the floors were being done. When we returned home, we were not happy with the color of the floors. They were way too light for our taste. We immediately called Ron late afternoon on a Saturday with our concerns and he showed up about an hour after our call. He immediately got to work re-sanding the floors, working very late into the night. He returned on Sunday to continue with the poly and finished the job on Monday. I could not be happier with the quality of the sanding and the final color of our floors. They look better than they did when we installed them over 20 years ago. Pine floors are very hard to sand due to the softness of the wood. Ron took the time to reset all of the antique square cut nails after each pass with the sander and it shows in the finished job. Obviously a miscommunication regarding the final color and it cost us a few days, but the end result was well worth it. Virtually dustless too! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I highly recommend these guys. I consider myself to be a pretty picky person when it comes to getting work done on my house. I really have no tolerance for shotty workmanship. My philosophy is if you're going to do a job, do it right from start to finish. These guys did not disappoint. I felt the pricing was fair, they were punctual, and most importantly--they did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier with the results. The house looks brand new (at least the floors do). I've already recommended them to two other friends. I generally don't like recommending people to friends unless I'm confident they will do a good job (don't want to be blamed if things don't work out). In this case however, I had no hesitation recommending Dustless Floors. Good job guys--much appreciated.

First off, the service provider pointed out I wouldn't have to pay tax if I paid cash. He gave me an estimate of $1150.00 but the final price ended up being about $1700.00, which was way over the mark. He showed up with his family, his wife and his brother-in-law, which I found slightly weird but I assumed they worked together as a family business. The wife did some sanding and clean-up. She ended up sanding it too far down, which ended up costing me extra later to have it stained. I asked him to replace some boards in the floor since the floor was so old and although he replaced a couple, he refused to replace others. He always came late! It took him a week to get this job finished. He always left early as well. One day, he even brought his kids, saying they were going to help! They had dirty shoes, playing around in my house. I had to try to watch and entertain these kids to keep them under control while their father worked. The family kept him distracted from his work, which led to some mistakes. Overall, I was pleased with the quality of the floor when it was done, even though it took so long. He told me after it was done that he was a house flipper and was good at working on anything in the house. I mentioned I would like to redo the kitchen and bathroom in my house. He accepted the offer for the bathroom and gave me an estimate but afterwards, I didn't hear from him in two weeks! I was on a time constraint and I had emphasized this in the beginning. He finally contacted me, and assured me he could get this all done in three days. I had purchased all the products he would need, such as tile, faucets, grouting, etc. He got here late on the first day with his wife. The first day went well. The next day his wife was outside sleeping in the van. He told me the wife needed to go pick up their kids from home because they were bored but I emphasized I did not want them in the house. He went outside to tell his wife and they ended up getting in an argument. They ended up leaving early. The following day, he came out but he still did not have it finished in the time I needed. He came out a fourth day. That night he left, and the wife called me at 3am to tell me he was having seizures and told me it was my fault because of the stress I put him under by giving him this time limit. I explained to the wife that I understood, but I was going to have to have someone come out to finish what he had left because the bathroom was not finished. None of the faucets worked, nor the toilet. Days passed and I never heard back from them. I finally got a call back from the owner and he was screaming at me over the phone. He was blaming me for the seizures and said it was because I kept him away from his children. This is his job! I did nothing wrong! I told him he could come get the tools and I would pay him for what he had done so far. He was angry I would not let him finish the job. He ended up calling the police and had them come out to gather his tools and payment. I now have someone else out finishing what he had started. They are having to basically re-do the entire job! He did fantastic work and has incredibly knowledge, but his family seems to distract him.

We had a good experience with them. They were reasonable and they did a good job. They came in when they were supposed to and we are happy with the results. They were very reasonable compared to other places. I had read the reviews on Angie's List and they hold up to those reviews, so we hired them.

Very satisfied with the overall experience. Work completed on schedule with beautiful results.

They are very good, and they stand behind their work. They recently came to finish my kitchen, and they redid the floors in our house.

They did a fantastic job. The price was competitive. They color matched so that they could refinish right up to some existing floors, and that was great. They just did a beautiful job.
