Hire A Husband

Michael DeBoer is the best! My storm door has been about to fall off the front door for the last few months, it had actually stopped closing properly. I really didn't know who to call and took a chance by looking at Angie's list, I am so glad I did. I called Hire A Husband - Michael, who was finishing up at a house a couple of blocks over said he would stop by after to check it out. He called when he got here, told me what he thought needed to be done and fixed it right away. I highly recommend Michael, and definitely will be calling him again.

Michael DeBoer is amazing. He comes in explores what needs to be done, decides on a sequence of activities, rushes to the hardware store, and comes back to start many jobs at a time. When one needs to stop for any reason, he starts with the other. What we thought would take a couple of days to fix he finished in one day including two trips to the hardware store. Extremely reliable, and wonderfully pleasant person to have working for you.

Michael was professional and a great worker he was very neat and was a perfectionist with his work. he showed up on time and went right to work. Would use him again

Mike was a God send for a single older lady who needed to get some stuff done around her house. Not only did he perform the work I requested he went the extra mile to do little extras or recommend things I might want him to do. This included framing out my closets so that my mirrored doors have a more finished and professional look. He fixed a slat in my bed that had broken, he fixed a strip on my outdoor redwood bench and sprayed the whole setso that it now looks new. He noticed my doorbell was broken and he fixed that. The work Mike performed exceeded my expectations and I was amazed that he could get so much done in one day. I am so happy with what was done I am now in the processes of clearing out another bedroom that needs to be remolded and painted. I hope to have him back in the next week or two to complete this project for me. If you need anything done around the house or outside, Mike is the man!!

He was very good. He was competent and skilled. He did some difficult stuff and did it pretty well and fast. I was impressed. He improvised well because we had broken fixtures that we just have to get rid off but he found a way to fix them. He did a good job. He did well with what we gave him.

Where do I begin? Mike is the man! My wife and I needed to finish a small bathroom remodel and luckily Micheal came to the rescue when our original contracter flaked. He was always on time and extremely courteous. His estimate was more than fair. He was a pleasure to have doing our work and have in our home. He works fast and lets you know the progress every step of the way. I couldn't recommend Micheal any more strongly. I'm in film and television and if I had ten workers like him, my life on set would be soooooo easy. Thanks Mike! Can't wait to hire you for the rest of the remodel !

Mike is great he's always prompt which is important to me. I always feel comfortable with him in my home. I have utilized Mike's services numerous times and I am always satisfied with his work. He's fairly priced and very dependable. I had an odd situation with my pool ladder and wasn't sure it could be salvaged, Mike engineered a great fix and I couldn't be happier with it!

I was lucky to find a guy like Mike at the last minute. I didn't have the time to even do something as basic as painting, and called him last minute. He fit me into his schedule and basically did everything from prepping the basement floor for paint, purchasing material and of course paint. His standard rate is $45 per hour. I probably feel the price is a bit high when its just a painting job. But he takes care of everything to make sure the job is done, which included moving stuff around.

Mike is very easy to work with. He is fast and thorough . He made two trips to Home Depot and he was back in a flash. His carpentry skills are excellent. There was no door on the room in question. He framed it out and put up the door perfectly. My power washer is stronger than his, but had not been used in several years. Mike tried very hard to get it going. He succeeded, but in the end he had to use his. As for the plumbing he was just as adept. I have been schlepping a hose around the house for years and the last time Mike was here (yes, this is the second time I have called on him for help) he said he could run a 20 ft. pipe thru the basement and out the back wall and I could hook up a hose. It works GREAT! I had a recent insistent involving keys to the front and inside doors. Both have dead bolts. Mike went to Home Depot and brought me back two different priced locks. One half the cost of the other. I chose the more expensive lock, but my point is...he let me make the choice even tho he has to return the one I didn't choose. He itemized the bill including the sales receipt from Home Depot. His hourly is more than fair for the job he does. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone. Very grateful, P.Sterry

I WANTED 3 projects done we couldnt agree with that

Mike was very helpful. He installed my range hood, replaced my bedroom fan, installed a outside light and planed down my cellar door.

He charged me $45 per hour and I think his rate seemed reasonable. Michael is friendly, easy to talk to and he will explain things if you don't understand. I would hire him again for my next projects.

Michael's assessment and estimate of the entire job was more than I had bargained for. The original job was substandard and the work needed to rectify the situation was not in my budget. He replaced the wood beneath a door and did an excellent job.

Very pleasant, conscientious worker---anxious to please.

It went great! I felt comfortable having him in my home. He removed the old toilet,repaired the wall behind it and installed the new toilet. He also replaced a door jamb and a door knob.

Mike the handyman did a fantastic job. Work completed was excellent. He is an excellent craftsman. I will use mike again and will recommend him to my family and friends.

Once again Mike came to the rescue like a knight in shining armor. I got a call in the early morning from a downstairs tenant in another location about water from upstairs raining down in his bathroom from the bathroom above. I called Mike on his day off, who immediately got out of bed and went over there. At first he could not get in since the upstairs tenant was still asleep. He had to come to my house to get the keys and drive back. He reset the wax seal in the toilet, re caulked all the fixtures inside and returned my keys all inside of an hour. To top it off he didn't even want to be paid for this job. I didn't ask him why.....maybe he figured because I am a regular customer he was just going to do this quick job gratis. I insisted on paying him.

Michael Deboer came to our home and seemed confident that he could fix all of the little jobs that we needed done. He walked around and discussed details of how he would do everything. A few days later, we called to hire him. That was on Friday, Oct. 25. I had about a 10 minute conversation with him discussing whether he works on the weekend and how we'd handle getting the supplies he needed, etc. He said he'd be here Monday morning (Oct. 28th) at 9am sharp, not to worry about anything. 9:00am came and went...9:30...10:00...by 10:15 I called and left a message asking where he was. Without even calling, he showed up at 11:30 with his truck and told my husband he had no recollection making an appointment with me. My husband told him we wouldn't be using his services.

-I have never had anyone work for me that wanted to do all these jobs...Different tools were required for each task. Mike provided everything plus a trip to purchase bleach and cement.These things were completed in seven hours in 90degree heat. Need I say More. He was terrific.

Price is very reasonable. The guy is experienced. It is very comfortable to have him in the house. He is quick, efficient and now he just a type of good guy who just know what you are feeling.

Mike's work was absolutely outstanding. Regarding my wooden front door, I had let it go for the past decade, and with his reconditioning work, he completely brought it back to life. He is a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend him. Please note that the cost figure above included the cost of materials in addition to my tip.

Mike is a one man army! He works fast, clean and carefully. He assessed what had to be done, then went to Home Depot to purchase materials...did not charge for this time away.....came back and went to work. Non stop. He spent 6 hours here and he was a joy to work with.

It went very well. Mike works quickly and is very fair. He even deducted the time he took to go to Target to get himself a hat to protect himself from the sweltering sun---Temp hit high 80's and it was humid. The shed looks like new! Mike is our new handyman-- The price we paid included materials.
