The craftsman evaluated and repaired broken furniture, quickly and adeptly. We asked also about restoring an old wicker bassinett and he advised us that we could do it ourselves with relatively little difficulty, and no expense beyond the cost of materials. He even told us how to do it. This kind of honesty and professionalism is valuable in today's world.

The two guys that came out were very nice and polite. I liked that they did the job right there in my garage versus taking it away. I did, however, think that they were a little bit on the expensive side.

First I hadn't realized that Angie's List had a concierge service until I called for assistance. Seth Rice did a marvelous job. He found All Furniture Repair and Restoration for me and even made the appointment. I wanted to make sure that the furniture repair company could refinish teak furniture because it's an uncommon job. The company called the day before to confirm the appointment. I was given a 3 hour window and when the technician ran late, the company called to let me know. Alex took his shoes off when he came in the house. He examined the dining room table and gave me an estimate for refinishing it. The estimate cost $40 even though the company is in Staten Island and I live in central New Jersey. The estimate was $120 + tax. Alex worked very hard getting the marks off the table. Someone had tried to fix the table top incorrectly and not only were there marks but the color varied across the table. Alex spent 2 hours refinishing the table. Although his estimate of when the table would be dry was wrong (an hour when it took all night), I am thrilled with the work Alex did. You can't tell there was ever a problem. I am once again proud of my dining room furniture.

I found that from the beginning that the company was responsive to emails and calls. They came to my house to look at the table even after I emailed photos of the damage. I felt the price was fair because of the damage. They took my table and gave me a 2 week turn-around. My table was delivered in ten days looking brand new! They also gave me recommendations on what cleaning products to use to preserve the new finish. I would definitely hire this company for future furniture repairs!

The repair went ok, the chairs were fixed. I later - in winter - had similar problem. Great follow up from the company owner, absolutely personal approach. He explained to me the impact of winter dry air to the real wood furniture, especially the type I have. He offered free of charge follow up repair. I got professional advice I needed. All and all - solid, professional enterprise with the personal attention I would recommend.

One of the best service experiences I can remember, including boiler, electrical, cable tv, etc. The technician showed up within 5 minutes of the time-window start time. He carefully evaluated the antique secretary and then the dining room table. He provided a spot estimate within 15 minutes, (to which I agreed). He had all fixes done in an hour or so. The work is absolutely impeccable / beyond reproach. The antique secretary had a split leg that was unstable and visible cracked for 6" ... you can't even tell it was broken now & it is structurally more sound thanks to inside brackets. The dining room table is massive and heavy -- he installed double-metal brackets on each leg and stabilized the entire item .. tremendous, especially since we have small kids who I worried might get hurt if it fell or crumpled... i won't worry about that ever again. In short, truly fantastic work. If anything wood needs fixing in our home, I will DEFINITELY call these guys again. I highly recommend them.

Appointment to provide estimate was made quickly and kept promptly. Although two other service providers had been contacted for estimates, one never showed although given flexible dates (but kept calling to see if he could come over at other times), another several times promised return calls which never materialized. Since this service provider's estimate fell within our previous expectations regarding the cost of the work and his explanation of what would be required satisfied us as to their knowledge and ability, he was hired on the spot. During a previous exterior painting and renovation in 2004 another contractor had replaced the original exterior cedar columns of the 1927 home's front porch with untreated pine (of course we didn't know this at the time). These were now badly rotted. Furniture Services braced the small porch roof and demolished the columns, then built new columns of pressure treated wood, bolted these to the bluestone porch landing (the previous columns had been allowed to float - the Furniture Services carpenter was irritated by the carelessness) and painted with exterior latex. This job was done during the first day and a half. There was concern that the weather might turn too cold for the paint to properly adhere, but the work was done very quickly and the provider stayed inside our weather window. The second day the provider used wood filler to repair several broken and chipped places on the interior stair risers, and hand sanded these smooth. At that time he declined to stain the risers, though it would have meant him finishing the job a day early, so that we wouldn't have to sleep with the stain fumes. He returned the next day, stained the risers to match the existing trim, and was finished by early afternoon. Both the columns and the risers now look as though they had never been damaged. At all times the carpenter's professionalism and demeanor were beyond reproach, and he was careful to clean up even the slight mess of sawdust he made outside when cutting the lumber.

Scott arrived on time. He explained after seeing the problem that the bed was worth saving. If he had not felt that it was worth the repair, he would have said so because he felt it would come back on him when the bed broke again. He spent about 75 minutes and used screws instead of nails which was a wiser choice. I was very satisfied with the repair. I had to do a little clean-up when he finished. He probably could have cleaned up. My only small concern was a misunderstanding about the $40.00 service charge. I was under the impression that the service charge would be part of the final cost if the work was done, not a separate charge. In short, I was very pleased with his repair work. We discussed having him return to address another piece of furniture which needed repair. He would have worked on it the same day, but I was not interested at the time.

I rented out my home in Connecticut for financial reasons. The couple who rented the house severely damaged the finish on a built-in, custom-made cherry bookcase I have in the foyer. I found All Services on Angie's List and gave them a call. They were responsive, puntual, and very thorough. The gentleman who came to my house took extensive photos so their estimate would be as close to the actual cost as possible. I would definitely use this company again.

They were very professional. First I sent my service request though Angie's List complete with photographs of the pieces that needed work done. Then they called me to set up an appointment and gave me a ball park estimate, but said that could change when the service men came if the job expanded. It seems many people order more repair work than originally contracted for after the men arrive, and then want the new repairs to fall under the original cost (for free) in my case the price stayed the same. He photographed what needed to be done, called his office to confirm the price, parked his car and returned with large bags of repair equipment and another service man. One worked on the chair, the other worked on the piano. When the job was done, they took photos of the repairs, I paid them by check, signed a receipt and they left. I was very, very pleased. In fact I will, now that I know how able this place is, I will look around for other areas in our apartment that could use some sprucing up and repair.

The company was immediately responsive to our request. A technician was scheduled to assess the requirements for a $40 consultation fee. He was prompt and helpful and seemed quite knowledgeable about the situation. He said a cleaning would probably suffice but, if we weren't happy with the results, the chair could be repainted. We made an appointment for a cleaning. The same technician came on time and completed the job efficiently and quickly. We decided the cleaning was fine. The fee was $255 as originally quoted.

Very happy. Found them through Angie's list, they came to my house in Central NJ (even though based in NY!) and took the back off an overstuffed/upholstered chair that wouldn't fit through a doorway to the 3rd floor of our house where we wanted it. I saw them do the work - it was definitely complicated, and the main worker (Luis) and his helper did a great job: this was a newer chair, fully upholstered, and they took it apart, took part of the back off so it would fit, and put the whole thing back together in under an hour!. I gave a B on price, because it was probably about a 45 minute/hour job, and given that there wasn't any materials involved, the charge is along the lines of what a lawyer charges -- BUT that does seem to be the going rate (I read some articles about other companies in NYC that do this kind of thing, one of which has mixed reviews on Angie's List for professionalism, hence why I stayed away from him) and they did a top-notch job. They got to my house when they said they would, and scheduled the apptmt just 2 days after I called. Thank you!
