So from the day we meet Gary from Colgar Enterprise it has been a positive experience. We meet with 4 contractors listed on Angies list , and choose Gary after his consultation with us on a bathroom remodel job. His understanding to what we were looking to do were clear yet his input was enlightening , his prices were not the cheapest but what we felt were fair . Gary kept us informed of his schedule and the timeline for the work to begin. He began the work the date he promised and was punctual from day one , at 8:00 A.M. . When Gary and his partner son show up at 8 , they are like a ball of fire they get right to the job at hand, and work through the day with little interruptions. In this day and age this is rare , he or his son "DO NOT" have their cell phones on them ringing through the day , they give all their attention to the job at hand . Before Gary left for the evening , he would ask if i had any questions or concerns on the work he performed & then inform me of his agenda for the next day. While doing the work he would call me to inform me if he noticed some things that may have needed extra attention that may not have been noticeable from the start , but always in a positive no worries can do attitude . I would at times during the day pop up and ask how things were going “ and he always gave me a positive no problems answer . This is very reassuring to hear the contractor take on a job and not have negatives things to say and do the things he says day in , day out .. Yes there were some unexpected obstacles during the remodel , but Gary made them worry free , due to his knowledge of the work he does. Nothing is a problem for him , he tells you what he is going to do the following day and he does it . They clean up each day before they leave . I had so many friends tell me he would never finish the work in the time he said he would , YEP he sure as **** did finish when he said he would . The plumber that came in to do the plumbing had told me he has never seen another contractor turn out the quality Gary does in a short turn around time . These guys are truly good men , hard workers and take pride in their work. They care about your take on the work they do and will made it what you want. We both could not be happier with the work performed by Colgar Enterprise and will be using them again for any future work. I have left before and after photos below

It went really good, he is very fast, and really good. It really depends on the person that hires him to have every thing ready for him, because he will do his job, very efficiently, clean, well, and fast. I highly recommend him .

Gary did a great job replacing a rotted wooden porch column and the rotted wood flooring underneath it. Very happy with the work done and would definitely hire again.

Gary was fantastic. He helped us overcome snags while saving money and worked quickly but with great precision. Even our local building has inspector commented on Gary's skills.

We are very pleased with our new deck. Gary took us through the many options for decking as well as the pros and cons for each one. His workmanship was great, and he was very communicative with us regarding timing, additions to the contract price, and anything that came up unexpectedly. He was punctual and efficient, and he made the effort to speak to us at the end of every work day to keep us apprised of what he did and update us with any changes. I will not hesitate to call on Gary again for any future contracting needs!

Gary had come out for a free estimate. He was on time and friendly. He let me do most of the talking to get an idea of what we were looking for and asked a few questions about things he knew were important. I bounced a few questions off of him and his 30+ years experience in the field showed. He was very knowledgeable and offered many different options on the things we weren't sure about. His price was quite reasonable and we decided to move forward with his services. He was always on time, if not early. My wife and I were in between our house and her parents' house during renovation and Gary called at the end of each work day to keep us posted on the progress. A few things had come up here and there, as they inevitably do during construction. He offered different options on how to move forward and did exactly that. He obviously takes pride in his work and understands that in the contracting business, the quality of your work is your bond. He took great care in every aspect of the project and was meticulous to ensure a job well done. Our satisfaction was just as important to him. He always made sure we knew exactly what to expect and then made sure we were happy with it. All in all, the new kitchen and floor look fantastic! We are very pleased we went with Gary and will most definitely call him again for future home renovations. Highly recommended!

Gary was very professional, prompt, responsive , and remained on budget. He provided valuable suggestions along the way and there were no surprises. Did three bathrooms in 2.5 weeks. Even helped to change a flat tire on my car while here! Would recommend.

Fantastic! Gary West did an outstanding job reconstructing our quite large (and quite deteriorated) screened-in porch. I was initially impressed by Gary at his prompt response to my call, followed by a same-week visit to give an estimate for the project. I appreciated his up-front assessment of the cost we were looking at. His verbal calculations seemed honest and his swift overview of steps we'd take made me believe he really knew what he was doing. Gary called a day or two later with a more 'detailed' cost breakdown - virtually the same, reasonable and within our budget. He doesn't email - puts contract in writing to present on first day of service - which he did. (No email paperwork was fine with me.) He requested we choose doors we'd want so he could frame our 'knee-wall' off that design and I got back in touch once that step was complete. Gary was juggling a few projects and my one concern was that he would not be available to get to us when we hoped - we chose to wanted to go with him anyway. Colgar turned out to be the best decision! Gary was totally reliable, showed up on-time, was always professional and courteous and worked tirelessly (in horrible heat) to great results. He didn't have any surprise costs or shady anything. His demeanor (and his son's) was no-nonsense and his workmanship was superb. Upon completion, Gary was accessible for any questions we had and recommended painting services we needed. We now have an absolutely beautiful new porch we'll enjoy for a long time! Will definitely hire again and recommend Colgar Enterprises to Westchester friends and family. We really lucked out finding him via Angie's List. 5 stars!

Gary and his team did a great job on the kitchen remodel project. Work was performed very professionally, and was quick, timely, clean and efficient. Gary is very experienced which helped a lot especially when there were unforeseen obstacles that needed to be addressed. He also works with an experienced group of plumbers and electricians that all worked very well together. I would definitely hire Gary and Colgar Enterprises again in the future. Thanks Gary!

Initial contact went well and Gary visited our home promptly. As time went on we played phone tag a few times which is understandable. Since then he stood me up twice when making appointment to provide a bid on the project.

They did an excellent and precise job. Very punctual. Completed job according to specifications and keep the time commitment. Gary and his son are the best. He was straight up on everything and did not fudge the facts. Told us like it is and gave us options, allowed us to choose. Highly recommend him to anyone.

Approximately 4 months ago my wife and I decided to have our kitchen remodeled. After interviewing several construction companies we decided to go with Gary and his team. We absolutely made the right choice. Gary and his team far exceeded our expectations offering insightful advice every step of the way. There wasn’t a problem that came up on the job that he could not handle. His 30+ years of experience in the construction field shows in the finish product. I can honestly say that he is a craftsman and take’s total pride in his work. I have many upcoming projects and would not use anybody else but Colgar Enterprises. I give Gary the highest rating! He was professional, punctual and great to work with. His estimates were spot-on and he was very flexible to small changes that we requested along the way. The quality of the work was excellent and at a very good price. I am looking forward to Gary working on several other projects in our home in the coming months and I would highly recommend him and his team for any remodeling work you may need.

I couldn't have been more impressed by the work done by Gary and his son, Demeter. I had gotten two other bids for the job and my gut told me to go with Colgar Enterprises. They delivered exactly what was promised and the tile looks great. They even finished a day earlier than I expected and thoroughly cleaned up before leaving. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others and plan on using them again for a different project.

I am more than pleased with the work this contractor did. Everything was done promptly. He always showed up when he said he would, always on time and communicated everything with me very well. I used his recommended electrician & plumber - who were also very easy to work with and professional. He did exactly what I wanted within the time frame I asked for and even finished a bit under budget. I would highly recommend him!

Gary was awesome! We hired him to remove our old backsplash, re-sheetrock where it was needed, and put up our new backsplash. He arrived promptly at 8am, as he said he would, and was done by 1:30pm. He came back and finished the grouting in about an hour a few days later. He was extremely efficient and did the job well. Gary (and his son who helped me out) did a great job with our backsplash. He was also meticulous about cleaning up after his was done. We definitely plan to use him for future projects!

Gary did an amazing job. He finished the job in under two days and the work was meticulous. He is honest and responsible, comes when he says he will come and explains what needs to be done in laymans terms. I highly recommend him and will be hiring him again shortly for another project.

My wife and I are running out of superlatives to say how good Gary is and how high his quality of work is. Probably the fourth or fifth project we've used Gary for. The deck looks great and the talk of the neighborhood. Incredible work from an incredible contractor.

Gary inspected the damage and gave us a very reasonable quote. We purchased the replacement tiles and grout and scheduled a date and time for him to come in to do the work. He knows what he's doing, was extremely professional, does good work, and is extremely fast. I couldn't ask for anything more and will definitely use his services again.

First, Gary did a custom built-in bench to create a breakfast nook under a bay window in our kitchen. He did the job in 2 days, and the result is a solid and sturdy wooden bench with built-in storage and custom woodwork to match the paneling on our kitchen cabinets. He had to work around an existing baseboard heater, and managed to work it beautifully into the piece. Next, Gary renovated our master bathroom. From demo of the old bathroom to construction of a new room including custom steam shower to intricate tiling throughout the room, Gary worked his tail off almost singlehandedly to have the room ready in under two weeks. His attention to detail is impressive, and he is straightforward with advice and concerns. Gary was patient with us as we navigated the unfamiliar process, and he was exceptionally kind to our two young kids, who absolutely adore him and keep asking for him to come back and do another room. Very lucky to have found Gary, and will keep him on speed dial for all kinds of projects.

From start to finish Gary and his team were great. Actually Gary gave us many ideas and recommendations for this and other projects. His attention to detail and professionalism will make us hire him again.

Mr. West has worked for us before. He was punctual and got right to work and completed the job in 2 consecutive days, as estimated. He built the shelves and "cubbies" customized to fit the TV and each component. He set up his woodworking equipment in the garage and when he left, everything was clean. He is professional and his work demonstrates his skill and knowledge. In two days, as promised, the job was finished and we are extremely pleased with the result which is not only functional but aesthetically pleasing, as well.

It went perfectly. Gary does first-rate work; I would go to him again in a heartbeat. The job involved removing old, mouldy sheetrock and replacing it with Wundaboard,, installing new baseboards, and a new drop ceiling. The basement looks incredible. (How it will look after I finish painting it is anyone's guess, but we didn't ask Gary to paint it, so I don't think we can hang the results around his neck.) Gary also knows reliable professionals in related areas, such as plumbing, electric work, and floor refinishing. We have taken his advice and are very happy with the folks he suggested. Grab this guy if you can.
