He was at my house within 10 minutes from the time I called. He did a number of things that struck me as above and beyond the call of duty--especially working on the alignment of the front door and remounting of the hinges to get the lock and an auxiliary latch to line up properly. He was friendly and professional.

The door knob to the front door was very old, and we had never changed the locks when we moved in. We'd been having trouble with the front door for a while and constantly had to jiggle the key to work the lock. A short while ago, while "jiggling" the key, I felt something give way as if I'd stripped the lock. The result was that the door could be opened, with difficulty, from the inside, but it couldn't be unlocked from the outside. The knob just spun free. For a while we entered by the garage downstairs, but it got to be too much on my knees. I called Mark just before he closed on a Saturday. One reason I picked him, besides being on Angie's list, was that he had weekend hours. He said he could come over the next day, Sunday, between 11 and 1. The next morning he called at 9:30 and said he'd finished a couple of jobs early and could be here in twenty minutes if it was okay. Yes, it was. I needed a whole new door knob, which I had expected, and he had to drill a new hole for it besides as the old knob had been an off brand. He was fast and efficient, and very personable.

Mom and I were scheduled to close on a new condo on Thursday, July 25. I called Mark Monday, July 22 to schedule his services for Friday, July 26. He confirmed an appointment for 9:00 AM. Mark arrived at 8:45 (early, fine with me!) and reviewed the locks. Although Mom had wanted both locks to be keyed the same, Mark told us that he would have to replace one of them, because the locks were made by different companies and had incompatible key blanks - and that replacing one would cost us more than rekeying both locks (I give him big brownie points for being upfront about the cost savings!) We agreed to use the existing locks. Mark set to work rekeying, then had me try the locks. When I noted that one of the door handles was loose, he tightened it up; when I commented that the deadbolt did not seem to throw completely, he checked it, and ground out the door jamb so the deadbolt would be completely extended. He lubricated the locks, and cut us three sets of keys (two were included, one extra for a very nominal charge.) All of this work was done within an hour, at the astonishing price of $139 and change. Needless to say, this is much less than I would have spent going to a "big box" home store, trying to find locksets that would fit, dropping tools all over the place while installing, getting frustrated, etc. etc. I found Mark on Angie's List, and didn't know what to expect. Well, he was outstanding! I recommend him without reservations to anyone in his service area. Thanks, Mark!!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The guy did what we wanted him to do. He's not very talkative which I guess is okay but it was like like he was almost unfriendly or like he wished he didn't have to be there. It was raining that time and I had him look at my fences, too. This was all on the call. After that, I realized that he didn't do anything to the locks on the fences and I really needed those done. I was just a little disappointed. They worked okay but he didn't fix the lock so they still don't lock.

I found Murphy's on Angie's List and am very pleased with service. I just purchased a home and needed to re-key all the locks. Mark came the same day and took care of all locks. Additionally, he made sure that a single key would work in all locks (prior owner had two different keys). At this visit Mark noticed the thumb latch hardware on the front door was not working properly. He told us what we need to order. Once we received the hardware I called Mark and he replaced the latch. Mark was great. He is prompt, professional and provides high quality service.

I needed locks replaced/rekeyed as soon as possible. I called Mark on Saturday evening, and he was able to come out Sunday morning. He showed up on time, and immediately got to work. Since the deadbolt was in bad shape, he suggested replacing it entirely instead of just rekeying it as he did with the other two locks. Mark was polite, professional, and friendly, worked quickly, and cleaned up when he was done.

They arrrived when they indicated and arrived prepared to perform the work. We found them honest and completely thorough. We are quite happy with their work.

I could not give them a high enough review. The guy saved me from replacing a whole lock; he could have taken advantage and replaced the whole lock which would have cost me $200. He repaired the bottom lock on my door because it was failing for much less. I recommend them to others.

Mark came very promptly after I called - and it was a Sunday!! I just returned from being out of town and was freaked out to discover I couldn't get into my house. He got me in, replaced the lock he had to destroy, and the whole prceedure took about 1/2 and hour. He was very reasonably priced as well. It was a job very professionaly handled.
